This is a nice traditional pub we went for an evening meal and it was excellent. The food was cooked properly and a good size portion. The staff and customers were very friendly. We were staying at the Swallow falls Inn but the food there was terrible so we walked down to Betws-y-Coen and happily visited here. They also have accommodation although no car park only parking on the road, however they said that as we were Bikers we could get our bikes round the back. :))

after a day of hiking my boyfriend and i fancied a good sunday roast, we were very underwhelmed. the potatoes and yorkshires were definitely pre bought frozen ones that they had reheated. the vegetables were similar to school dinners and the meat was dry. some of the included side dishes were also not provided (creamy leeks and peas). our meal came to £65 and this felt very steep for the quality of the food and the service. honestly give this place a miss

Get me outta here! Arguably the worst meal out I’ve had in my life. Half a roast chicken with a herb rub, corn on the cob, red cabbage slaw. Sounded lovely - a signature dish on the menu. I should have taken photos and sent it back immediately. No corn on the cob, no herb rub, chicken looked like it had been boiled instead of roasted, red cabbage slaw was just pickled cabbage. Final thoughts - absolute bloody stinker.

We have just returned from a weekend stay here and we are already in the process of booking our return. The location is perfect as a base for walking trips, a potter about the shops, relaxing by the river and a short drive from Zip World. We originally stopped in here one evening last November for a drink when we were staying somewhere else and we had a really good night so decided that we would stay here on our next weekend break. We arrived in the evening and checked in at the bar and it was an easy process and the staff were very friendly getting us sorted and settled. Our room was on the top floor and we had a view of the river just beyond the sweet shop. It was lovely listening to the river during the times we were in our rooom. The room was clean, a good size and had it's own ensuite bathroom (shower no bath). Towels and toiletries were provided. The room had tea and coffee making facilities with a nice range of teas and coffee bags. There was also a fridge which was really handy to have to store our snacks. The bed and the pillows were really comfortable and aided a good sleep. One thing that stood out for me was that there was a proper ceiling light in addition to the 2 bedside lamps and floor standing lamp. So many hotel rooms lack a light like this which can make it too dark at times. The windows open partially so there is the option to let in some fresh air. Breakfast is available for an additional charge but we didn't have breakfast here on this occasion. We did however have a roast before we left on Sunday afternoon. I had the beef and my partner had the chicken. Portion size was plenty and the food was lovely. All the staff we encountered over the weekend were great, the bar staff, chefs and the couple that run the place. All were really friendly, engaging and we had some lovely chats and great laughs. All were very helpful. We were made to feel like locals. The atmosphere was welcoming. There was live music in the beer garden on Saturday evening. It is worth noting that there isn't a lift in the Inn so rooms are accessible by stairs only. Due to the location of the Inn, on the main road opposite the bridge, there is no hotel specific parking. There is some on street parking a little further up the road if you can get it. We decided to stay inn the car park just the other side of the bridge. At the time of our stay it was £8.50 for 24 hours which is quite good in comparison to other places. The current hosts have been running Pont Y Pair Inn since June 2023 and they really care about making sure their customers have a pleasant and hassle free stay and have worked really hard making this happen. We had a great time and a lovely stay and we are looking forward to going back.

We have been visiting Betws Y Coed at least twice a year for several years, and in our opinion the Pont Y Pair Inn is the best Pub in Betws Y Coed! Firstly, the staff and owners are incredibly friendly and extremely welcoming, as well as being very professional and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic...its a proper pub with loads of character and charm. The food is great, and is very reasonably priced with a good and varied menu. The Inn is VERY dog friendly, and the staff always make a fuss of our 2 spaniels, giving them treats and cwtches (cuddles)! Rooms are available, but as we have a motorhome we stay on the nearby campsite, so we cannot comment on the rooms. Overall, I can't recommend the Pont Y Pair enough, and I highly recommend a visit there. We would like to thank all the Staff for treating us both so well, (especially for what you did for my partner on Mother's Day!), and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again later this year.

However when me and my friend were at the bar waiting for a bartender the same waiter came out of nowhere and started to sing oasis really obnoxiously we didn’t know if we should take him serious but it made use feel uneasy to be there. We then went back to are table which was in a freezing dark room where are friend who had been waiting there told us that the waiter had made him feel awkward and massively disturbed to the point where he didn’t want to eat the anymore ! He told us that the waiter offered to wash his hands for him and licked his hands in front of him I really can’t fathom how he thinks this is okay. NOBODY should deserve to be served in this manor things need to CHANGE ! 😡 definitely not a child friendly pub 🤦‍♂️

Disappointing Sunday Roast, frozen mixed veg, frozen roast potatoes . My chicken was good but the beef was poor my husband and 2 people on the next table left this or fed it to one of the many dogs in the restaurant, and the 'extra' cauliflower cheese was very sad - end of a frozen bag possibly , not crisped under the grill and all loose bits and pieces.

The Sunday roast is nothing like advertised. We thought we’d researched well for a location for a good Sunday roast. How disappointed were we. The food came out very quickly and was literally looked & tasted like microwaved rubbish. The roasts were like out of a bag and the veg was like the mixed frozen veg bag from supermarket. The cauliflower cheese was watery and very bland. The staff were friendly but I would not recommend this place for food. The dining room also felt soul less. There are other better eating places within this location.

Was drawn in by the menu and it looked really busy, so cajoled our daughter in to eating in this establish. I ordered the "steak and ale" pie. It was effectively just a reheated Holland's pie with a handful of frozen chips. My husband ordered the cheese and bacon burger. It was abysmal. In his words it was "the worst burger he'd ever had" the burger was tiny and looked burnt. I waited a while at the bar, too. The cutlery was grubby and my husband had to sift through the knives and forks to find 3 clean ones. We left our food after a couple of bites. Atmosphere was okay but avoid the food.

Honestly I've always had a good experience here, but the shorter bartender was a major problem.. he complained about his working hours constantly, incredibly sarcastic to me and other customers, even when I intentionally was taking it on the chin since like all of us, maybe he's having a bad day or something, he just gradually, openly got worse, till the point where I couldn't pretend to see this as some sort of "oh god this job sucks, I can't wait to finish" kind of joke anymore, it genuinely took me by surprise till the point that I felt conflicted to even fake smile at his remarks. I really debated leaving a review to avoid coming off as sort of Karen type lol, but my mates are truly shocked by how he was.. this behaviour is not acceptable and needs acknowledging. The guy openly complained and embarassed me about my order being complex besides me explaining it to him clearly (and nicely too! It was such a small drinks order), and then intentionally stares long and hard back at me while shaking his head multiple times throughout the whole interaction of this order, scoffing, smirking, and then finishing with an obnoxious, loud sigh muttering the time he finishes his shift, genuinely unbelievable. I get you might have had a long day perhaps, but please don't take this out on everyone else. I've worked the exact same job as you in the past and yes I'm empathetic as some days it can purely seem like a slow pay day, but there's no excuse to behave that outwardly negative. Maybe it was some weird attempt at banter, but it really didn't come off as that to myself or anyone else.. big lack of self awareness if you think that is an okay way to behave too. It sucks but I'm glad to say I've never experienced this bad of an experience with being served even close to similar as here, it's an absolute shame too since the other bartender was a really sociable guy, super friendly! And usually a great pub, but to this person.. please learn some proper people skills or a little restraint, someone in the beer garden overheard me when asking my friend for a second opinion, and this person also joined in with his own negative experience. We were so friendly to you, like come on man? Lol

A pretty disappointing stay for one night. Two of us booked in for a one night stay and paid around £90. We didn’t expect a lot for the money and knew that we’d be staying in accommodation above a pub so expected some noise and basic rooms. On arrival we we found a nicely decorated room with enough space for what we needed. We weren’t there long though before realising the poor cleaning that had or hadn’t been carried out. First of all the mini fridge had a half finished bottle of Rose inside from the previous guest, the windows have many decent size cobwebs on the inside which have clearly been there for a long time, but worst of all the shower has a build up of grime across all seals and edges, I say grime because they easily wiped off while in the shower. Pretty disgusting if I’m honest. The room was very dusty to the point that we could write on the lamps, mini fridge and even the floor. We decided to have some food and ordered the Sunday lunch. There was a decent amount of food but found the meat to be very dry and had to ask for more gravy, this was no problem and they helped us with this quickly. Not worth £16.99 though I’m sorry. The WiFi also doesn’t work in the bedroom but there is EE signal so we used our hotspot for the Netflix. Another point is that the sash windows couldn’t be kept open, they can be lifted but fall straight back down which wasn’t ideal in a warm room. On the plus side the hotel was in a decent location, and considering the room was above a pub it was completely silent at night. The shower was powerful and there was a selection of toiletries included. I felt for the lady working the restaurant as I feel she was being let down by her staff. She was apologetic about the issues but at the same time offered no discounts or free drink or desert to compensate for the inconveniences which would have been welcomed. When we checked out nobody could be found in the building so we didn’t have a chance to discuss the cleanliness which we only came to notice at night once we spent enough time in the room.

More of a pub with rooms than a hotel/inn. The bar downstairs was open until 2:40am, loud music and rowdy clientele keeping us awake well beyond what is reasonable to expect. “Double” bed was two singles pushed together, cobwebs in the corners and nowhere for clothes in the room, so you live out of a suitcase. No parking should have been better advertised, there is parking on the roads nearby or in a pay to play car park over the bridge. Great location but feel like we massively overpaid for what it is.

Had Lunch and a pint for less than £10 per person. They checked with the chef for gluten free options for us and the food was served in a timely manner. Good food. Allowed dogs, an absolute gem of a find and well worth a visit

Didn't eat there so cannot rate the food, but the bar staff and the owners were great. Chatty, welcoming and fun. This has to be the pub with the best atmosphere in Betws. Dog friendly, great drink offers and a huge selection. The outdoor section is great also. We went there three times and we were only in Betws for two nights!!!

We visited for lunch 11 8 24. Mains came with no problem and were delicious. However, we ordered 2 biscoff sundaes which hadnt arrived after 50 mins. We had to ask for a refund as car park time was nearly out. the lad behind the bar was doing the work of at least 3 staff - he was on his own takibg orders, serving at the bar - he had to leave the bar unmanned while he made 3 take out coffees and also had to sort out draught cola which wasnt working. He was doing a great job but it wasnt fair that he was on his own - come on management and get staffing sorted!!! Our desserts still hadnt arrived after 50 mins so it seems there were no kitchen staff either. The pub is really lovely and mains were fab - just lack of staff let the pub down. U should not expect 1 guy to run the whole bar on his own. And,as i say, there didnt seem to be any waiting on staff or kitchen staff either. It was lunchtime 1-2 pm???

Stop at the inn for 3 nights, staff and owners are friendly and attentive and location in perfect , but all place is dirty and dated. Missing bulb in the lamp, dirty bathroom, dirty coffee mugs, broken toilet handle, windows don’t really close and life music every night in the pub garden. After all day of hiking we couldn’t even have a peaceful sleep.

Reserved a table for out anniversary but when we got there a table hadn't been reserved (a the sign had been moved). It was very busy and didn't seem enough staff to well. Staff were basic polite, and food was ok. I think we may have gotten it at a bad time because during the day for drinks (when we went to reserve a table) tje young lad behind the bar was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, he wasn't there during evening service.

The restaurant deserves five stars and the hotel section three stars. Hence a total of 4 stars. The food was tasty and the service very nice. The hotel was simply very dirty.

Local pub with outdoor seating. Close to the bridge and village center. The selection of beers is quite limited, but you can find something you like; pub food is not above or below average.

Lovely pub great spot, terrible rude bar staff woman. Was gona order lunch d cided not too as the woman was so rude, sighing and rolling eyes etc. spoke to another couple also decided against ordering too as they had same experience. This pub needs to get rid of this woman it's costing them money and there reputation

A lot of money for what you get, stayed for 3 nights as a birthday and wedding anniversary treat, Was shown our room, no mention of breakfast, or going in and out while pub was closed, Had to keep asking tea, coffee sugar as it was not replenished, was on top floor had to go get milk every time we wanted tea, Bedroom was ok a bit dusty, nothing special, they need bigger towels, A lot of money for what you got, Bar staff ok but need to ask who next instead of just serving who ever,

Arrived during the England game so it was naturally very busy everywhere. I was abit concerned that there was no onsite parking, however did manage to get into the last space in the car park opposite for £2 overnight rate 6pm til 8am. (Moved the car the following morning to a free street space) We were welcomed by the new owners Mike and Jennie who apologised for the busy atmosphere, however we loved it and praised them for being so full. We were shown to Room 5. Had a double bed and a single bed. Beautiful cozy bedding. The shower was incredible, loved it. We were seated nice and quick for dinner, had the mixed grill, the steak was cooked to perfection 👌 Full English breakfast in the morning was lovely before heading out for a walk. The Sunday roast was absolutely spot on, plenty of meat and the beef was cooked well. We found our hosts to be very attentive during our 2 night stay , very friendly and happy to chat whenever we went into the bar. It's an old building, it does have its creeks and heavy doors so there is some noise but it's in a perfect location especially if you're visiting zip world, reasonably priced across the board and well worth a return visit. We will definitely be back, thank you for a lovely relaxed stay

I usually park outside to use the Wi Fi, whilst waiting for the wife to finish work at M&S. I don't go in much because I find it expensive for a coffee. But that's me, I prefer tea.

Been a few times but this year definitely gone down hill! Went in for coffee and cake, wasn't busy but took 10 mins to be served, I wanted to buy something to eat in and some cakes to take out, was told had to pay separate till can't understand why? It's same place generally the food standard has gone down big style definitely would avoid shame as used to be amazing
