Poli in Birmingham

4 of us dined in, Pizza was ok (a little soggy in the middle) we ordered a bottle of wine, (price £22) was told one we asked for was unavailable so asked for bottle of white, when the bill came the wine cost £40!!! Disappointing end, definitely check wine prices before ordering, way too pricey and not even a good wine tbh - wouldn’t have minded if it were a decent bottle 🤦‍♀️

Amazing food, the garlic bread with marmite was insane. Friendly service and vibing tunes. Pizza with venison Ragu was so good and the choice of drinks was lovely. Desserts were also delicious. Highly recommend, visited about 10 months ago.

This is my 5th time at poli and it never disappoints. Amazing food, great staff and a great atmosphere. One of the best Birmingham indies

Not sure about hygiene standards visited as had no time to go to Italian in Mosley (it’s competition) and so thought lets try it. Server was continuously coughing wiping nose with rag under jumper did not see her once wash her hands. Wanted to leave but told order already put through. Basic menu and quite expensive pizzas are burnt. My main concern is hygiene. The venue also had a strong smell of cat food?? My friend said it was the smell of a strong cheese but to me something just was not right. Staff seemed stressed cooking and rotating oven almost had pizzas drop on the floor. Hygiene is key staff should not work or touch plates with illness - dirtiness

The best pizza, especially with their fermented hot sauce.

Dined here last night with a friend. Very limited choice on the menu. Pizza was lovely however really pricey for what it was. Drinks are very pricey too. Very basic restaurant so wont be rushing back. So many better places to eat in the area.

We've been enjoying the pizza here for a while but OH MY WORD...the roasts! Genuinely the best I've ever had. Meat cooked to perfection, perfect potatoes and cripsy yorkies! And the gravy....so unctuous! It was incredible. The staff here are always lovely and so accomodating. Unfortunately for them our baby loves it there too. So worth a visit!

The best Pizza in Kings Heath - Hidden Gem

Very good food but decor and atmosphere a bit primitive. The Music was too loud to continue a conversation. Could do with more attention to cleaning and presentation. The toilet facilities also need to be presented better. Located in a rather scruffy street next to similar premises. They only take cards for transactions. The pizzas were expensive, but very good.

The pizza was good but the staff could have been a bit friendlier.

Fantastic food, probably the best pizza we have had in a long time and the tomato, mozzarella and pesto starter was incredible. We went with our two children who enjoyed the childrens pizza. Service was lovely and although they have a good selection of drinks it was nice we could get drinks from Grace and James next door but one to enjoy (highly recommend the Rose wine). Can’t wait to visit again!

One glas of bad wine for 8 pounds, mediocre pizza. Overpriced.

This is a wonderful place to enjoy a genuine Italian pizza. We ordered margarita pizza which tasted of fresh ingredients and beautiful charring on the pizza crust. The mozzarella was really good quality but the sauce could be more tangy and tomatoey. I really enjoyed the potatoes which were crispy and soft from the inside. The highlight for me and my partner was the sauces. We ordered the hot sauce and garlic butter which blew us away. Although slight expensive for 2.50 for each sauce but they were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend ordering the sauces alongside the pizza for a nice dip to accommodate the pizza crust. I think the drinks menu was limited for a non alcoholic person and desserts menu can be improved. Furthermore one slight niggle was that me and my partner were not getting any phone signal so we couldn’t check the menu out as they had no paper version. However the staff kindly lent their phone to check the menu out. But I think just having a paper version when someone may not get any signal will be nice. But overall definitely will be coming again for the pizza, the house made bread and the sauces.

Loved this place when I first visited . On the 2nd visit I was told I cant add an extra topping to my order. I added topings before so I dont know why they changed it now and they dont allow customers to add an extra topping. And its unfortunate they stopped doing garlic butter too. You can only order whats on the menu.

Poli serves the best pizza in Brum - I think! This team know their food. The menu is simple, yet well put together. Starters vary according to season - and each starter so far has managed to hit the tastebuds! Keep up the good work Poli 🙌🏽

Floppy Margarita pizzas. Dough was nearly as thin as paper. Could barely hold it... cant imagine if there was meat on it.

I have never had a bad pizza from Poli. We have ordered via Uber and eaten in the restaurant and both have been excellent. Their lamb fat potatoes are lush and their pizza menu, although limited, hits the mark every time. The best thing about their pizza is it’s even good the next day eaten cold. Overall their food is slightly more expensive than the chain restaurants but it’s many many times better. Staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

Your lamb sausage pizza was the best thing I've ever eaten but now it's gone and life will never be the same again. I weep for its loss.

We've been waiting long time and had great expectations. The pizza dough and the ingredients are really good. The service was slow, took about 15 min to order and 45 to have two pizzas. Half of the pizzas in the menu (they have about 8-10 pizzas) don't come with mozzarella - you need to add it and voilà, your pizza now costs £15. Overall good but a bit overpriced to be in b'ham.

Went to see if it could live up to the hype, and happy to say that it does. Great pizzas, but highlight were the potatoes in lamb fat. Incredible. Nice selection of drinks available, and quick service

Buona pizzeria "alla mano" posizionata in una via pedonale zona Moseley a Birmingham. Tavoli spartani, personale cordiale e simpatico, pizze buone e soprattutto digeribili. Birra discreta. Prezzi nella media della zona. Unico appunto, se mi è consentito, le posate erano messe all'interno di un contenitore sciolte, senza protezione, e, essendo ancora sotto pandemia, non credo sia una cosa molto igienica...

Two of us visited here for dinner, the music was far too loud. We ordered two pizzas (ham&pineapple and Pepperoni) but too salty, couldnt finish them. Both of us lost voice after the dinner and drove to German kebab to fill up our belly.

Been wanting to try this for ages as it's always buzzing when I walk by. Pizza was good, bit overpriced. We ordered one between the two of us, olives and 2 beers (asked for pints but were given 2/3s) which came to just under £30. Food took about 45 mins to come out too, wouldn't have minded if they said it would be a bit of a wait.

Pretty good overall, very friendly and attentive staff. I had the honey nduja pizza which was very flavourful with the garlic butter dip. If I had one criticism it would be it was a bit too heavy on the sauce: maybe oversaturated it a bit. The lamb fat spuds were a nice little accompaniment, not too heavy and pretty yummy. Overall, a good experience if you’re in south Brum!

We first tried poli at the Queens Heath event. The service was amazing, the food was fantastic 👌 and and a fair price. There was plenty of tables space inside and out.

Quite overpriced. Pizza was okay, but too small and not worth £13. And the drinks are way too expensive too. The music very loud as well, so it was hard to talk to people we were sat with.

Treated both my taste buds and my heart ❤️ with the most mouthwatering pizza plates. Could easily win as the best pizza I’ve tried in Birmingham (along with the Plough’s). I also loved the happy endings icecream cookie sandwich they serve there. The super friendly staff made it an experience to never forget too.

Unbelievable pizza. Your not beating these. Proper cooked traditional pizza. Decent size, i sat and service was great the man was very pleasant and polite while being attentive. Ive since had another take away as that available and will be returning for plenty more in the future 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕

One of the best places you can eat in Birmingham (or anywhere else for that matter!) - incredible food and drink, the pizza is just beautiful... and great ambience and staff. We are regulars and the pizza is consistently the best we've had outside of Italy... and we've had a LOT of pizza in our time ;) The sides are also always really interesting and yummy. The garlic butter is soooo good it has literally made me cry. I could go on! Thanks guys :D :D

Really tasty and sometimes unusual pizzas, delicious starters and nibbles (the lamb fat potatoes are 👌🏼)... Cool atmos too. Really enjoyed.

The sharing steak with chimichurri was fantastic! I had the N'duja and fermented honey pizza which was very tasty albeit probably too spicy for some people, but great for me! Service was great as well, definitely one of my favourite pizza places in Brum.

Following several glasses of really nice Cava and friendly service with a smile at Grace & James last Friday afternoon my daughter and I shared a yummy board of foccacia bread, mozzarella and olives. Following that her partner arrived and bought us delicious thin crust pizzas and fries from Poli the restaurant next door. Food was 😋tasty and good, quick service too. The end of a very special day ❤ and so good to just relax and chat. There is plenty of outside seating in front of the the eateries and drinking places too. A lovely setting for families, friends and couples to meet up and chill.

Pizza was amazing, never had such a light and fluffy dough while being so thin. The black pudding and leek pizza was such a good combo. I had the nduja which was equally very tasty.

I have been more than a time to Poli in king's heath with my partner. Each time we went we noticed the same things in the pizzas: the topping are good, the tomato sauce too but the pizzas come out from the oven evidently overcooked (i would say burnt). When we pointed this out to the waiter we asked him if next time we could have our pizzas "less cooked". He said it was impossible to serve an "under cooked" pizza. That's fine, but there is a difference between under cooked, cooked and almost burnt. The waiter continued telling us that with the stone oven pizza there was no way to do the pizza differently from how we got it. The answer seemed a stock one and he was a waiter not the pizzaiolo so we let it go, but it's a shame for Poli. They create good pizzas, good toppings, they try to do pizzas according to the Neapolitan tradition and then....... They serve it burnt.

Was recommended Poli by a few people and it didn’t disappoint! The food was excellent - especially the N’duja & honey pizza recommended by our waitress. Our waitress Lana was superb! She was attentive, helpful and so friendly - thank you Lana ! Definitely recommend!

Brilliant pizza, fit out and location. Good vegan options and drinks selection would definitely recommend. Service was average, in particular one waiter who was quite gruff and probably shouldn’t be front of house but would recommend on the strength of the food.

Great pizza and wine, weird service. We hadn’t booked and said they needed the table back by 8:30 which was fine. Felt like we were constantly hurried and were told that we needed to get the bill soon at 7:50. Unnecessary aggro from one member of staff in particular, everyone else was great.

Fantastic authentic pizza! I’m from the states and I always say there isn’t good pizza in Birmingham. I was proven wrong by Poli. The dough is light but still fluffy and I thoroughly enjoy its not loaded down with cheese. It’s simple pizza, minimal toppings with great flavour. We ordered wine from Grace and James and had a wonderful evening dining outdoors. The street is blocked off to cars which makes a nice quiet dining experience. Thoroughly recommend!!

This place is amazing! Fantastic staff amazing wine good couple of on draft craft beers. Pizza and small plates are just incredible, there’s a reason it’s always busy and that’s cuz it’s the best!!!!

How this place has anything other than a 5.0 rating is madness. Brum was a little bit late to the pizza party (with a fair few other cities having well established Neapolitan style pizza places for a while before Poli opened), but it was well worth the wait. They know what they’re doing with a pizza oven - innovative and ever changing toppings (with the vegan cheese-less options actually being thought about), the best selection of sides, fermented hot sauce crust dips and perfect bases.

We were looking for delicious pizza place for a time now... and Ok! Yours is Absolutely the best pizza I tried in Brum! Dough is delicious and has a perfect consistency and definitely closest to real Napolitana. Must try!!!!

Every time I've been in before lockdown, I've never had any fault with either the service or the quality of the food. All have been excellent. Even during lockdown, I can say the same thing. Their bake at home Pizzas have been delicious, with easy to follow instructions, easy ordering method and a safe way to collect. Just fantastic all round!!

Amazing food and place to eat. Pizzas are the best you will eat and a great selection of delicious small plate dishes.

We had a couple of types of pizzas, which were generously topped with tasty combinations. The atmosphere was a bit flat/ sterile and staff seemed generally miserable with what seemed as a noticeable cold attitude towards our group. Pizza happens not my fave food so all in all I probably won't go back.

Lovely atmosphere, quick service on a Saturday, incredible pizza, cracking icecream sandwiches... What more can you want?!

Had an amazing meal in poli today. Our group had a selection of pizza and small plates were perfect. As we're the dips and ice cream sandwich. It's great when you savour the flavours. The team behind the menu have shown great skill in curating a simple paired back menu but a menu that is created with heart and a testament to good cooking skills picking and pairing great flavours. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you to the team.

Some of the best pizzas in Birmingham. Been here several times and I can't get enough, the sharing plates are excellent too.

Service is excellent even when they're rammed. The food is such good quality. Aside from the pizzas, the starters are also interesting and delicious. Urge people to make the trip but try and book ahead as it's pretty popular

It's just such a treat to eat here; the food is unusual and delicious and it's such a lovely atmosphere. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Great pizza, no coffee, v busy so you get processed as a customer, but not the pizza which is made there. What is with no coffee. After dessert you might like to have one, espec if you're a driver. Maybe its to increase the turnover by discouraging customers lingering over a coffee and so they can sit the next lot quicker. The drinks we had were all served in reduced size vessels which is a bit irritating too.

Pizza was nice and nice atmosphere. Wouldn't say the ice cream sandwiches are value for money, they are merely small, from the freezer ready made desserts.
