Pointz Castle Ice Cream in Pembrokeshire

We came to pointz castle after a long walk from Newgale beach, and what a treat! The flavours I picked were ‘Bueno’ and ‘Fresh Dairy’ in a size large tub. As for service, the young man tending to us was phenomenal, considering we had joined the queue in a lunch time rush, as he was helpful and had a smile on his face the whole time! Lovely little place, highly recommend!

A great place to go for ice cream, with loads of choice of flavours and massive portions - if you have a cone. The small tub, same price as a cone, didn't seem to have as much in it. We went twice while on holiday. The first time, our coeliac daughter was able to have a gluten-free cone - as rare as hen's teeth - but on the second trip they were out of stock so she had a scoop in a cup, which wasn't as big a portion as her sister's in a cone. Just a little niggle when you don't have the choice of cone or cup. Highly recommended!

Visited for an afternoon Ice Cream. Plenty of parking. Indoor or outdoor dining. Good selection of ice creams and portion sizes. I had a combination of Mint Chocolate chip and Cherry / Amaretto in a waffle cone. Large portion. Good flavour from the ice cream. Good staff service in a comfy relaxed environment.

A visit to Pointz Castle Farm ice cream has become a highlight of Pembrokeshire holidays. My elderly mum and dad from farming stock love watching milking time while I get the icecream - always quite a queue. Exciting icecream flavours and lovely smooth texture. Fantastic local business.

The best icecream in Pembrokeshire - enormous range of flavours. Food take away options. Also sells coffee and fresh bread . We tried to return twice but queues too long in the afternoon. Shame it shuts so early as would be good to take away for pudding in the evening

We visited the ice cream twice during our Pembrokeshire camping trip. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our indecisiveness. The tastes were amazing. Ice cream is very creamy and smooth. Definitely worth a visit…or two. Would recommend all flavours.

Lots of choice and great tasting ice cream but the servers need to have a masterclass in customer service. A smile and a more positive mood wouldn't go a miss. I would let it go because people do have their off days now and then, but all 3 occasions I've brought family and friends round I've had the same sombre experience. Lighten up guys it's an Ice cream shop!

We arranged a walk from Solva to Newgale Sands to go via this place, and are very glad we did! The flavours are wonderful - Pembrokeshire Honey, Turkish Delight, especially! There was a short queue, but didn't take long to be served, and we were able to sit inside to eat.Good value really too.(NB the FB page led me to believe the farm shop would sell BBW packs, but this was not the case).

Visited 7/6/21 drove past it at first as the sign outside needs to be bigger and bolder, so we turned around and came back this is a working farm so you do have all the smells of a farm then there is the ice cream fantastic flavours I had a tub with crunchie ice cream and a scoop of Turkish delight you can have 2 different flavours in a tub for £3.50 my wife had a double scoop cone with kinda bueno as one scoop and etan mess as her second scoop and that was £3.50 to the cone was full of ice cream and 2 big dollops on top very good portions will be going back down very shortly to try some different flavours highly recommended

Beautiful ice cream and lovely friendly staff. Can't recommend enough. Once you've visited once. You will keep going back for more as so many flavours to try. My daughter loved seeing all the cows. This was the nicest ice cream parlour i’ve been to! They had a huge variety of flavours, perfect for everyone, whether it be something fun for children to a plain vanilla. It was all perfect. A great treat for tourists or for locals on their way home to Solva/St David’s way. Plus theirs a small beach below the farm. I wish we discovered this place earlier.

Quite simply the best ice cream around. The only ice cream that comes close to a real Italian gelato. Love everything about this place...which means we visit far too often 😊

Super Sunday treat! Great flavours, taste super and lovely staff. Gelato is fairly priced and you’re just a short drive away from Newgale where you can park up and enjoy your gelato and the views.

Must visit in Pembrokeshire - we stumbled across this place a few years ago on a trip on the way elsewhere. Very glad we pulled in! A great ice cream parlour that outside of covid times had a lovely seating area in a barn with areas for kids to play too. At the moment it’s takeaway but with picnic benches overlooking the cows outside! Ice cream is excellent and always a great variety of flavours - definitely worth a detour!

We’re local but only just discovered this place. All I can say is Wow! THIS IS THE BEST ICE CREAM I've or we’ve ever had. The lemon merengue was off the scale delicious, as was my husbands salted caramel and the jammie dodger my daughter had was delicious, really generous portions in a lovely waffle cone. I cannot praise this place enough.and will be coming back for an icecream dessert very soon. Lovely to see the mum cows with their babies too. <3

We had amazing ice creams at Pointz castle, Penycwm opens daily at 11am-4.30pm. The wild strawberry and blueberry and pannacotta were to die for in chocolate topped cornets, a great portion with helpful staff and an outdoor picnic area to devour them. It's next to a farm with typical farmyard odours but lovely to see the cows lining up to be milked and the swallows circling above, we even managed to beat the usual daily queue for ice cream. Highly recommend a visit there when on holiday in Pembrokeshire

To put it simply, we are addicted to Pointz Castle Ice-cream! Their ice-cream is the best out there, they have amazing flavours, they are generous with their portions and they are always so friendly. And all in beautiful surroundings with a great walk from the farm down to a small bay. Its a "must do" when in the area!

Spending 30 minutes queuing for an ice cream on a busy Bank Holiday Sunday may seem like madness but when it tastes this good its worth the wait! By far the best gelato style ice cream flavours we've ever come across in Wales. Really authentic, just as you see and taste in Italy but with a Welsh twist - Cream Brulee, Lotus Biscoff, Mixed Berry, Blueberry and Panacotta.....all fantastic and good value.

Stopped off here during a trip to Pembrokshire in Wales after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. It was a very busy day and there was a large queue for ice cream (says it all!). Despite being so busy, the staff were very efficient. Got to be the nicest ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Jaffa cake flavour was absolutely amazing. A range of flavours are available - 18 I think?! Good choice of differing sizes and cone or tub options. I opted for a sprinkled waffle cone, which was fantastic. Just had one scoop, which was very big! Great value for the size and quality. Highly recommend.

Only serving takeaways, but the Cream Brulee ice cream is to die for just like eating the real thing. Very generous portions and great prices.

So good we went back twice! Especially recommend the dairy cream and the wild strawberry. Very clean and well managed with socially distanced area to sit. Good sized portions.

Gorgeous ice cream - my husband is a vanilla stickler and he said it is as good as any french/ Italian ice cream he has had. Lots of interesting flavours - I loved the jammy dodger! Kids like seeing the cows too. Coffee very good as well. Very friendly staff too,

Our very favourite place to have ice cream. I think I have a new favourite flavour every time I go there, which is almost every day of our holiday. Lovely surroundings to eat in also and superbly clean.

This is a must visit . Tye ice cream is stunning and reasonably priced . There are also cakes and other snacks. At the back of the shop is a brilliant okay area and tractors .... never too busy ...all the fun and lovely service

We visited over Christmas as family kept saying how good the homemade ice cream was, and we were not disappointed! The cherry and amaretto ice cream was a real favourite. Also, the drinks were flavours I've never had before, the mint hot chocolate was something special.They clearly care about their customers as they came around with a complimentary mulled wine. The staff were all so friendly and always had a smile on their face.Will definitley be coming back and can't recommend enough, a great trip out for everyone!

A great selection of ice creams but unfortunately I just like chocolate however my grandkids enjoy trying out the new flavours. If they not too busy, a miserable day then take a game to play on the tables and enjoy ice cream or cup of tea or both

After our visit last year, we had to come back and to be honest have been loads now! Great selection of ice-creams and staff happy for you to sample the odd one before choosing. Portions are really good and great they let you have two different flavours in a single waffle cone. The worst thing is having to decide which flavours to have! Coffee and teas are really good too with some yummy cakes; yes we have been there just for coffee and cake! Play barn is great for kids including a basketball net and smaller kids play area. We have also discovered a lovely walk from there down to a small beach. And as always, service is wonderful with the owners normally in there. Beware it can get busy during tourist season especially near closing time when everyone panics as they realise they need their ice-cream before it shuts!

I visited this part of Wales last week during a 3 day whistle stop tour from South London to my partners family in Haverfordwest. My partner had tried to fit in as many things to see and do in the limited time that we had including the Cardigan coastal farm park, Tenby and St David's.I'd been told that we had to visit Pointz castle for the ice cream. The drive from Tenby was around 40 minutes but it was so worth it. The view as you approach Newgale was just breathtaking. Then a short little drive further up the hill and you arrive at the lovely little farm. The cows looked so clean and well cared for and they have a beautiful view. The shop itself is modern, comfortable and very clean. The ice cream was out of this world. By far the best I've ever tasted and at a cost that is half of what you would pay most places. Its fair to say I was extremely taken by this hidden gem in the countryside and I cannot wait to come back

Took my mum and sisters here as I had read good reports about the ice cream. Was not disappointed! I had a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop of honeycomb.- beautiful tasting ice cream. The cafe is rustic, clean and inviting. We even took home two tubs to eat the next day!!!!

Lovely little place, I’ve cream was fab! Rustic setting, wasn’t sure where the part was where you could see the animals or what else the place had to offer? But we would defo return just for the ice cream. We travelled nearly 50 miles to get there and would do it again! They also serve teas and coffee and cake too which all looked lovely. It was busy but the staff were friendly and helpful when picking ice cream. My children were not sure what they wanted but the lady was very accommodating :)

Stopped here last week on a trip along the west West Wales! Recommended by a friend and it certainly was a good one! Really good price for some of the best ice cream I’ve ever tried, went for Amaretto Sour Cherry, and passion fruit frozen yoghurt! Both were incredible! Tasted amazing.

Any independent that takes a punt at any endeavour is to be celebrated, and the ice cream is really very, very good.

The ice cream was delicious! My only complaint would be they piled too much in the cones for our kids and they had trouble eating it all. I had to help them!

Called yesterday as it was a really nice evening and couldn’t believe how busy it was, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be served, a reasonable time considering how busy it was. I ordered the Jaffa cake ice cream along with salted caramel, both were amazing! My partner had strawberry which she loved! We will be back soon

Went here just after the bank holiday and wasn’t disappointed. The ice cream was spectacular! I had jammie dodger and it was like iced cupcake frosting. Great choice, excellent value (I think mine was £2 for a cone) and lots of places to sit. Also had a handy barn for the kids to run around in. They had cakes and coffee etc also.

Just love this ice cream and the people who set up and run this fabulous family business. More than just ice cream... though it is the best, inspired by Italian know how. Very relaxed atmosphere.

What can I say the Ice cream is out of this world. The queues were out of the doors, the overflow car park was in the field, but well worth going for. You must go.

Wow, drove past and decided to stop, constant que out the door reflected quality of the ice cream. It was delicious and creamy. The strawberry ice cream was superb. Had a cuppa tea too which was proper lose leaf and enough for 6 people! Great value and quality.

We took our brother who was visiting us staying over and he was bowled over. He says he could of gone for another flavour of ice cream. Lovely staff. Could not credit this place any more.

I have to say it’s the nicest ice cream I’ve ever tasted! You can just taste the freshness and creaminess of it! Great flavours too. There was so much choice my daughter found it hard to decide. Really enjoyed our lattes too. The cafe was lovely and had a little play area for young children at the back. The kids had a play on the toy tractors in the barn which they enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go back

Visited Pointz Castle last Sunday when the sun was out and it was time for ice cream and what an ice cream it was!!! After much deliberation deciding which flavour to go for I finally decided on Blueberry panna cotta, a very good choice it was just gorgeous. The staff are a delight, the young man who served me even gave me a taster of the honeycombe which was one of the others I was pondering over, that was also very nice. I see they have a new flavour this week, Rasberry and white chocolate so another visit is on the cards and I'm sure it'll be just as delicious !!!

Just stopped off for an ice cream, had to make a difficult choice of which one to have due to the amount of flavours. Absolutely fantastic, the whole family thoroughly enjoyed them. Wish I had discovered these earlier in the week so we could have gone back for more. We’ll definitely be back next year

Have been very disappointed with the watery ice cream offerings experienced elsewhere whilst on holiday. Fantastic range of ice creams and sorbet attractively displayed in the farm shop/cafe. We tested a few flavours before settling on raspberry sorbet, blackberry ice cream and a strawberry ice cream. Huge scoops and a range of cones. Delicious and good price. Great to support a local business too. On an environmental note the tester spoons are bio degradable. Big thumbs up all round.

When you find something as beautiful as this.. it should be calorie free!

Amazing fresh home made ice cream. So many great flavours to choose from plenty more visits to try them all. Just off the main road near the Brawdy turn off and plenty of parking. Staff are very friendly Somebody has had a great idea.

I feel bad writing this review as there is no doubt the gelato is extremely good. My problem is the flavours. Between us, we tried four different varieties but in a blind tasting, we couldn't differentiate one from the other. I love rum and raisin, but couldn't tell it apart from any of the others. No rum flavour and only tiny specks of raisin. The vanilla was also very bland and it was only the colour that distinguished the chocolate from the strawberry. Sorry, but this is definitely not as good as we'd hoped and not worth the queue or the price.

We’ve seen the signs up for this place for a few weeks now and have been dying to try it from the already fantastic reviews! And the visit was well worth it!

First pasted the ‘ice cream’ signs on the New Gale to St David’s road on a drizzly morning but decided we’d be making a visit when the sun came out.

Our daughter took us here while we were staying for the weekend, there are plenty of delicious flavours to choose from, I had rum & raisin and fresh dairy probably one of the nicest ice cream I’ve had.

Really smooth and delicious ice cream! This place came highly recommended and, upon tasting the ice cream, you can understand why! There are many flavours to choose from- all made using the milk from the farm, and it makes such a difference! I tried a scoop of crème brûlée and snickers. I also had a flat white and it was, by far, one of the best coffees I have ever tasted. Cannot recommend highly enough!

We noticed their advert in the Fishguard guide (which is miles away !) and after a stunning walk on the coast near St Davids , we had to call in especially as we love proper ice cream (like Rachels in Ledbury). It is a very clean and spacious parlour. you can see the cows just next door. There's loads of seating and car parking - and loads of great flavours. And it tastes scrummy !! Really !! They also do hot and cold drinks. And it's only 10 minutes walk through the fields to a very lovely little beach.

We eat a lot of ice cream in our family and we have our favourites dotted about the UK. This place is up there with the best. Fresh ice cream in a truly indulgent array of flavours, served at the perfect temperature - just the right size and decent value in tasty cones. There is even a play area for the children and a nice converted barn to sit in. Win!

Located right next to the dairy farm, this cafe had delicious, affordable ice cream and a range of cakes. The staff were friendly and chatted to us about the farm and local area. There were lots of ice cream flavours to choose from, and we had a tough time deciding, but settled on delicious salted caramel, classic vanilla and strawberry cheesecake! Would go back tomorrow!

Delicious ice cream and the boys really enjoyed meeting the calves. We did a loop walk out of Solva along coastal path and back inland and stopped here for a midway snack, the ice cream really was worth the walk. Lovely tea and coffee too.

If I hadn't of got work to go to in Haverfordwest then I would of insisted my hubby to go back there. Saw baby mookies. Saw mummy mookies who were making a ruckus.

What a find, the most amazing tasting, quality ice cream, we will be back often to make our way through all the different flavours. Fantastic tasting coffee too served in a cafetiere . They also sell cakes and water is free to help yourself to.The cafe area is very pleasant, clean and spacious with a selection of tables and a childrens play corner. There's also a big covered barn for children to play in and view the calves in their pens. We also saw an organised group of people being talked to and probably being shown where the ice cream is made. Decent amount of space for parking too and easy to get to,everywhere was very clean and well presented.

We saw the roadside sign as we passed through with our caravan and thought we would call in later . My first taste was so good I had to come back later in the week . Nit only delicious ice ceram at a very affordabable price but coffee a nd home made cakes ,plus a play barn . Too many flavours to try in two visits so I must return . The ice cream here is outstanding - more like gelato than ice cream. There is a wide choice of flavours and a friendly welcome. You can also see the cows that provide the milk, and the staff are very friendly. Strawberry ice cream was a particular highlight.

Having eaten gorgeous ice cream down at the Porthclais Kiosk we went to find the source! What a lovely set up, a working dairy farm with its own homemade product. Delicious ice cream , we had raspberry ripple and amazing rum and raisin, sitting in the barn cafe which also does cakes and hot drinks. Friendly staff. Outside are the toilets and a play barn which was delightfully filled with new calves! A super visit! Will be back.

Quite simply the best Ice Cream I have ever tasted. I live in Gloucester and work near Pointz Castle a couple of days most weeks. Have taken back Ice Cream for friends to try and they've been blown away by how good it is. Now taking back several big cartons of ice cream for friends and neighbors every week as they love it. Absolutely delicious and William and Rachael could not be more welcoming and helpful. Try all the flavour's they are all great and it is such good value for the quality, absolutely first class. Also has great play area for kids whilst grown ups can have a relaxing coffee and delicious food.
