Good fish and chips. Tasty and not greasy. Service deathly slow and no smiles. When busy they need to precook so people don't have wait. They weren't busy but had to wait more than 30 minutes. Fast food it ain't.

Chips are the best we had in a long time, and the fish bites are delicious. The place is clean and the portion sizes are just right for me.

Plaice 2 Be is one of our local fish & chip shops. Fish is freshly cooked to order, and there is a good selection of pies, burgers and kebabs too. There is plenty of parking available nearby too - always a bonus!

Be prepared to pay extortionate prices in here for a relatively small portion. Food is hit and miss.

Nice food quick service just cash only.

Ordered cod but found it had a sand worm 🪱 in it so haddock from now on but lovely food 👍

Very generous portions of fish & chips, the haddock is especially good. Service can be a bit slow, but then most things are cooked to order so it's a trade-off for quality. Cash only, but ATM about 100 metres away at filling station.

I've gotten a chicken kebab and it was rubbery and now I've started to throw up do not recommend

Nipped in at 4:30 today for a large bag of chips for us both to share with some cold meat but when sat down to eat them not only were they barely warm they were reheats not newly fried and for 3.65 for one bag is very poor quality and poor value. Will never buy here again. Extremely disappointing

The place is expensive with tiny portions and the only take cash and I don't quite trust places that don't take card in the age of technology

Expensive for what you get! I was a little underwhelmed when I got my order home. Chips were soggy and greasy, and for a large portion, there didn't seem to be a lot. Also ordered a large mixed kebab meat in a tray (again, disappointed by the size) . I requested the garlic mayo in a separate pot (as some places absolutely soak the meat in it when they apply it). On arrival, I was told I'd have to pay extra as the mayo is separate now! I said "forget the mayo then!", to which they relented and said "just remember next time". Not to worry though, at that price and that quality there won't be a next time.

Always decent food and good portions. One thing to note is that they only accept cash. No payment by card at all.

Quality fish & chips - been to loads over the years and this is one of the best. Always have large haddock & mrs large cod - batter is light/tasty - chips to my liking - also tried a chicken kebab and will be having another soon - highly recommended.

THE WORST fish and chips I have bought. My husband brought them back and I couldn't find a chip that wasn't brown and dry. The fish had no batter on the bottom..just skin. IN THE BIN where they belong. £10.80 for absolute RUBBISH. The fish was in the cabinet on its own as he was cleaning down, my husband asked if it was cod and conveniently it was, obviously not willing to cook a fresh cod. It was haddock, we know the difference, and dry to the point it was uneatable. My husband used to go in quite regularly and the owner knew him from the company he worked for. He won't be buying fish or chips again. I called the takeaway at 1.45pm but no answer. If the owner wants to reply to a genuine complaint of a once regular customer offering some form of explanation then he will listen.

Just had a mixed 3meat kebab and chips grease coldkebab meat shredded chicken not bite size pieces a piece off fish not much bigger than two fishfinger charged £15 for both to put bluntly expensive dogs dinner closed by time I got back

Absolutely spot on. We have only ordered fish & chips with mushy peas & will eventually try their other menu items. Fish is cooked to order, it is actually a decent sized fillet with the most tasty, flaky white fish. The batter is crispy & not at all greasy. Their chips are lovely, tasty & are always hot & crispy on the outside & lovely & soft on the inside. The peas are hot & taste like mushy peas should taste & not out of a tin like some shops sell.

Tad expensive but what isn't beautiful and fresh friendly staff very busy

Very disappointed as it closes at 9 pm that's what time I got their . So had to go to the Chinese down the road . 10 out of 10 to them had a lovely take away so all worked out well . Next time in this area it will be the Chinese NOT the chip shop.!!!

Great food but utterly miserable staff. Seriously devoid of any pleasantry. Your belly and tastes buds will be happy but your soul will be left wanting.

Love this chippie regular visitor here staff are so friendly and I do feel they are by far the best chippie in my area.

First time we’ve visited after moving to belton a year ago and have to say we were very very impressed - my mum n dad had a fish & chip shop (so we are very fussy about our fish & chips) in North Yorkshire for over 30 years and we thought we’d try them when she visited and she asked me to complement you on the standard and size and especially the batter - I also have to say the service was fantastic when we went to collect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Crazy small portions, large chips £2.85 and tiny one scoop portion size. £8 for a supposed jumbo fish, which was no bigger than a chip shop regular.batter on the fish was uncooked and sloppy.chips so greasy and very bitty..and shop floors and counter filthy.wish we hadn't bothered and won't be returning..

Always amazingly delicious fish. I am particular with my fish and when it is good, I eat it all and enjoy it. We keep going back. The food does not have any surplus fat on it so we like it. Portion sizes are great, though well frequented, not a very long wait. We will be back x..

Very mediocre, small portions and twice the price of Oceans 52 a mile down the road. Not impressed £40 for 4 fish n chips......!

Never had a bad meal, whether it's kebab or Fish and Chips. There's a fish and chip shop just down the road but we always travel the 5miles out of our way as we know the meals are always fantastic. The lads are always polite and welcoming. Can't recommend them high enough 👍

Very friendly staff. Fantastic food. Fish n Chips are lovely but the 3 meat kebab is to die for. The meat melts in your mouth and tastes like heavenly. Bigger portions to Epworth Grill where the prices are sky high and portions get smaller every week. Well done Guys See you next saturday.

Super busy but great food. Too many people waiting outside too close together, but it was cold.

My wife and I enjoy our Friday evening fish and chips take away from Plaice 2 Be.Consistent quality,thick cod portions,tasty chips coupled with mushy peas and curry sauce plus a large sausage for our large "Goldie".

I Don't like/eat the skin on any fish & normally have to ask to have it removed before they get it which a lot of places won't do unless it's fozen of course...here at plaice 2 be the fish is fresh plus there is no skin... every time we have good from here it's always very tasty ..The best around & well worth the trip

Fantastic fish and chips. We travel over 10 miles for them and pass several other fish and chip shops on the way to get there.

Foods always cooked well. Just a shame the shop front isn't bigger and have a more orderly way of ordering so customers are aware who's ordered and who's waiting to order.

I absolutely love this place. ALL the food is amazing whether it be fish and chips or a kebab.

Just passing by and thought we would try this place, lovely fish & chips, quick service and fish was cooked fresh, only let down was we asked for a two pots of mushy peas and both pots were half full.
