Pizza Express in Manchester

Refused to drive to the other gate across the car park leaving my friend to walk out on her own in the dark unacceptable by the driver

The delivery driver was quick and polite. The pizza I ordered, however, had two dough bases on top of each other for some reason and neither had cooked thoroughly so it wasn’t very nice or edible

bad delivery service. said 45 mins waited 2 hours for it to arrive. food was cold and rubbery due to it being cooked an hour before. avoid

Absolutely zero stars, ordered pizzas and was given an estimated delivery time of 6pm didn’t arrive til 3 hours after I ordered!!!! Kids have gone to bed so couldn’t even eat the pizza. Pizza was freezing cold when it arrived and congealed cheese!

Called for a reservation and told to just walk in which made things easier. We were served by Dan who was friendly and provided great service. The food came in no longer than 10 minutes; I had the fiorentina and watched my egg be freshly cracked for my pizza. Price was definitely reasonable, we would 100% recommend

My main order was wrong, my 4 friends had all finished by the time my plate arrived. I was very unhappy with the service, I asked if they could remove my pizza as a good will gesture as we had been waiting for over two and a bit hours, keep in mind we had no starters, no sides bar a garlic bread. I was very disappointed when my request was denied I was told the wrong pizza would be changed on the bill to the correct one and no discounts would be applied or the bill change, that I thought was fine as the pizza was expensive - I thought they would at least offer to remove a drink or maybe the garlic bread? We spent over 90 pounds that day and I regret every penny. The waitress we had was very uninterested and inattentive to the table it seemed as if she couldn’t wait to get away. We had to chase a waiter to get extra drinks for our meal, the restaurant wasn’t that busy and every one of the staff members besides the gentleman who made our passion fruit martinis had a miserable face! I will not be returning to this particular restaurant.

Mid week bite to eat whilst travelling with work. There are a few pizza express' in Manchester and this one is all good by me!

Order was late. The eta was changed 4 times and it ended up over an hour after the original time. Then the food was burnt. Really disappointing from somewhere like pizza express.

Wonderful experience. We went for a pizza making party with work (around 12 of us) and we were treated to a wonderful service from Anu. Our glasses were never empty and he was kind and a great pizza making teacher. The food was lovely and the experience was definitely enjoyable. Hats off to Anu for making it such a good experience, top man.

Anu was a legend, he was patient to all of us and distributed good knowledge for pizza-making and positivity. A brand new core experience.

waited over an hour and a half after first planned delivery time, by the time we got it not even hungry, all the food was cold when it arrived.

We went to this restaurant today for lunch and we're very disappointed as we ordered some pizzas but after more than 25 min that we were there the waitress told us that they didn't have some ingredients and to order a new one. 😔 Very disappointing since my son was very looking forward to it and also had limited time to eat as we booked the football museum afterwards. This left us no choice than to cancel our order and leave without eating as we couldn't wait for another half an hour minimum.

popped in for some food before going to see London Grammar staff were pleasant and helpful ordered some drinks along with some starters which were on the small side then waited 20 mins for our main to arrive to our astonishment one of the staff said have you eaten ? hahaha ! no ...... so then waited another 30 mins before our main arrived the food was ok but the service was shocking people coming in after us eating then going . So I asked what was the problem for our food taking nearly 1hr . Oh the kitchen was busy yeah right more like you forgot to place the order....PPP

Delicious pizza! Was worth the wait.

We were the only people in the restaurant at 21:30pm on Saturday at the time when my partner said he had seen a mouse. Whilst eating our food felt something run over my foot then looked down to see a mouse running around the bottom of the seating area. Manager was informed he said sorry and was offered no compensation then he went looking for the mice.

Really unhelpful staff - wouldn’t change a pizza to pasta for my son as he had an allergy. I rang to change it after ordering via Uber eats.

Me and my partner went to Pizza Express earlier this evening and it’s safe to say I will not be returning. Our food came out at the same time but there was a clear difference in the presentation and size. My partners pizza took up his whole plate, had plenty more toppings and looked more edible. Mine on the other hand was a whole different story. The pizza was no larger than my hand, barely had any cheese and the pepperoni was burnt to a crisp. I believe this is because of my celiac which is unacceptable considering this is an autoimmune disorder that cannot be helped. The service was unsatisfactory, this may have been because the restaurant was busy, but no guest should have to wait 15 minutes to get the bill considering there were plenty of waiters around. Despite this, we were seated fairly quickly, the food came out not long after we ordered and my partner enjoyed his pizza and dough balls very much.

I came in today to get some food and didn’t have a particularly great experience. I’m a coeliac so cannot eat gluten under any circumstances and so chose to order halloumi bites for my starter which is something I have done at other pizza express restaurants (it’s important to note that not once did I get asked whether I would like these as a starter or with my main) my friend ordered non gf doughballs as her starter and a non gf main. The problem occurred when my friends doughballs arrived and my halloumi bites didn’t (I assumed that since I can’t eat gluten the staff would have brought them out as my starter dish). After waiting for 8 minutes wondering if my halloumi bites were coming I asked a gentleman about it and he said they would come with my main and if I wanted them now it would be a 7 minute wait. I decided that since my friend had finished her starter I didn’t want to make her wait for her main so I had to sit for 30 minutes before getting any food I could actually eat and just felt quite dissapointed by the whole experience. Staff were friendly though and the food was lovely when it did arrive.

Really good service and the pizzas were great. Recommend the Burnt Ends Pizza if you like BBQ sauce inspired food. Go for romana pizza bases as you get much bigger ones. Classic is slightly thicker but not by much.

ordered off the set menu bill came, set menu had not been taken off , also mentioned I had a love to shop voucher I wanted to use. 10 mins later staff came back and refused the set meal price as they had processed the voucher first. and forced me to pay full price. NEVER AGAIN AWFUL SERVICE

Ordered through Uber eats on 18 Nov 2023 at ~20:30 (open until 23:00). Delayed from 21:30 to 22:00, then 22:10, now 22:20. Still no food with no arrival, and you can’t call the phone number as takes you to automated line. Do not get delivery from here.

The pizza tasted good, just a shame it was stone cold when it arrived. The garlic bread however was really disappointing, too thick and has literally no garlic flavour.

Dry cold pizza not happy at all please consider this a complaint I can provide any other Information you may need

We went to the restaurant last night, was the best experience we’ve had in a while. Although the place was very very busy, the staff were amazing and the customer service went above and beyond, plus the pizza was superb, thank you 😃

I only ordered because of the 40% discount plus a £3 discount I had. Still a rip off, totally not worth it.

Food was way too late. Pizza was done on time, but was simply not collected by any driver.

The food on this occasion was poor. The pizzas were overcooked and the amount of topping was sparse. The music was so loud and so people were having to shout at each other to be heard. The tables are so close together that the waiting staff were brushing against the tables as they went past.

We were in Manchester for the Christmas Markets and picked to eat at Pizza Express due to it being one of the only places nearby that we could find with good gluten free options! Unfortunately, however, it seemed that the restaurant was severely understaffed (not the staff's fault at all) but it definitely impacted our experience with very long wait times and one drink being initially missed from our order. However, one other issue we found was the difference in gluten free vs regular pizza. Different toppings were ordered, but it was the same type of pizza off the same menu, yet the gluten free option was significantly smaller (the picture below really doesn't do it any justice, it was comical). The rest of the food was lovely, including a chicken Caesar Salad, 2 other Pizzas and a child's bolognaise, all of which was very yummy!

Unfortunately food took 1 hour 45 minutes to be delivered and was cold on arrival. Portion size of salad was tiny - really disappointed.

We were all really happy with our evening at pizza express. I thought I'd deserved a table but I'd made a mistake amd it wasn't on the computer. The kind man that greeted us did a bit of swoplng about and fitted us 5 in. Excellent service from all waiters including the Greek man who was very friendly and helpful. All staff on the ball and we were sat close to the kitchen and could hear how well the team worked together. They have it off to a t! All in all a great night, we will return

This pizza express in Manchester is located in the Corn Exchange. It’s downstairs and nicely laid out. Service is a little slow but the food is good.

The service was rushed, a huge lack of customer service

Went in Sunday 24th, ordered a lasagne that came out cold. As I cut into it I knew it was cold, it was hard and there was no steam. I stuck my finger in it and it was cold. Wasn’t cooked at all. The sauce wasn’t runny and the cheese wasn’t melted - as if it hadn’t been defrosted. Had to send it back but took a while to get anyone’s attention. It came back out, same exact one but now was slightly burnt. There was no need to burn it, just wanted it to be actually cooked. The manager was apparently informed but didn’t get any comp for it even though I had to send it back so I didn’t leave a tip. They also had forgotten a plate of dough balls that we had to wait for at the start. So it wasn’t great. We had a gig to go to so wasn’t interested in wasting time. I have emailed the restaurant as instructed by the comment below, but no one ever got back to me. They’re not interested in remedying their mistakes either!

If I could give less than zero for delivery for an Uber eats, I would. Over an hour for a stone cold pizza and I mean cold not warm. Driver tracking always saying one stop away. It's not the first time either. I would simply give up on delivery unless you just want to people to use extra express delivery.

What a pleasure it was to be served by Mizhgan on a recent visit to the Pizza Express in the Corn Exchange in Manchester. 2 of my friends and I were there for an arena show and were very glad we chose Pizza Express for our pre-concert meal after receiving excellent service from Mizghan. She was friendly, kind and went above and beyond for us on more than one occasion, despite it being a packed out restaurant at tea time. She’s a real credit to the company. Thanks again Mizghan for making our night even more special!

Wow what a change tonight me and my family had an absolutely amazing evening amazing food pizza was outstanding dough balls so fresh. The staff so friendly interaction with the children very accommodating and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great could not fault it one bit definitely will be returning again thank you to management and all staff

This restaurant offers a free class visit to local school children where they get to make their own pizza - it was an amazing experience for them! The staff are so kind and generous and the pizzas were delicious! Thank you so much

We booked in advance and received a good welcome on arrival. We were able to order drinks, starters, and mains at the same time, and our food was served fresh and hot. We both had original dough balls, and I had a classic La Reine and my husband had a classic American Hot. I had a passion fruit lemonade to drink and my husband had a large Peroni. We each had the Honeycomb Cream Slice for dessert. The service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was clean, and there was a good atmosphere.

This order was the worst I ever received. Couldn’t even eat it, the chicken was cold and when we tried to microwave it it stunk out the whole house, then speaking to just eat they wanted proof of the food after I had thrown the food away so they offere £3 from a £30 order. Absolutely horrible

Service was amazing, the staff are super lovely and accommodating, food was awful and insanely overpriced. First visit in years and I will never ever return. Everything was tasteless. So disappointing when you’re paying £16-17 for a small pizza. Only thing decent was the dough balls and even they taste the same as the ones you get in the supermarket… don’t waste your money.

Came very quick but food was cold

Didn't enjoy my food, cannelloni, which was undercooked and very runny/sloppy. My daughter had a pizza which she enjoyed. Manager did offer an alternative but l really didn't fancy anything. For me not a great experience but think my daughter liked it.

Popped in for a late lunch. Service was fine although only one staff member serving so when it came to paying there was no-one to be found. Took a while to be given the bill & pay. Atmosphere was a little quiet but we did arrive at an odd time. We were seated across the restaurant to the rest of the guests which I guess just made it a little solitary. Food & drinks arrived quickly and was lovely!

Suitable for a large group but as with any chain a bit bland, especially when they get your order wrong

We had booked in advance so surely the restaurant knew how many diners were expected. Other groups left without their food. Won’t be back.

underrated! The classic dough balls with the garlic butter might be my favourite thing in the world, been so many times and will continue to re visit everything i have eaten has been great. All servers are really nice too

Humair waitress not only takes ages to take the payment but also don't know what discounts are valid which days. Compared to other restaurant a really big disappointment.

My friend and I had been to a spa in Manchester and chose to eat at Pizza Express as we had some Tesco Clubcard Vouchers. The Corn Exchange was the nearest Pizza Express to us so we chose this one. It was a hot sunny afternoon and most diners were outside, however the branch of Pizza Express does not have outside seating so we went inside. Naturally it was very quiet due to the weather. But the service was good and the food delicious. Previously we have always had the vegan nourish bowl at Pizza Express but as this is not on the new menu we had the Beetroot Buddha Bowl instead. It was delicious! For dessert I had the vegan ginger cake which was gorgeous and my friend had the Lotus Biscoff cheesecake. The desserts here are delicious! All in all a lovely experience.

Extremely slow service by a dark hair waitress, not knowing the menu and one more waiter to serve the next table and them having the food earlier than us. Management needs to train them properly imo.

Had the most wonderful experience and service with Miz - was on my lunch break, service was great, she was so kind and attentive! She managed to cater to make my meal entirely vegetarian which made me so happy. Give her a raise honestly! Couldn’t have asked for more. Will be coming again!

We visited here after seeing a show at the arena and were greeted by a lovely waiter which provided crayons and a children’s menu for my daughter. Service was fast and the staff were really friendly. Food was good.

Definitely worth a visit - great 50/50 Romana pizza; amazing brownie and ice cream and wonderful friendly service! Only thing that let it down was thr Pollo Pesto pasta which tasted amazing but the portion is tiny! I was still really hungry afterwards. Other than that it all tasted great tho and a perfect lively atmosphere on a sat night for pre-concert meal! Just order the pizzas if you want to be full...

Pre show meal here for us. As usual very busy so you need to book ahead as many were turned away. Good menu with calories shown and gluten free also available. We had dough balls, calzone and leggera pizza with caramel dessert slice to follow. All absolutely delicious.
