Ŵe got a table straight away and were hosted by Levi, who was very friendly and helpful. The food was awesome (chip shop supper and children's carvery) and, once again, I'm going home absolutely stuffed. Highly recommended for a Sunday day out to relax.

We came here last Sunday for lunch. It was dire, everything was stale and over cooked from the carvery. We ended up leaving half and walked out. The children’s area was filthy and poorly lit. Wouldn’t come here again.

Been little while since last visit. Had voucher for offer on food. Had carvery and couple of burgers with drinks for £30... Burgers were hot and tasty. Service was polite, friendly and helpful, only downside of it all was carvery and selection of veg. Could have had more of a selection...did have 3 though but could been more.

Went here for Christmas Day Lunch and have been here previously. A few days before, I had a phone call to say that one of the desserts that were on the menu would not arrive on time, so they asked us to choose something else, which was fine. There was a group of 7 of us, and 2 of us are veggie, so we had pre-ordered the nut roast carvery, which we were looking forward to. The starter was very nice, then we got up to get the carvery, and us veggies were given a cheese pie to go with our roast dinner, a cheese pie??? With it being Christmas Day I didn't want to complain as I am always grateful for staff working on Christmas Day but to be honest I never would have booked if I knew the veggie option was a cheese pie roast dinner. If they had run out or were unable to make a nut roast, this should have been communicated to me. I was very disappointed after spending a lot of money.

We came with our daughters and their children for breakfast with santa. We had a fantastic time. The staff were great, the food delicious Santa was absolutely brilliant. He gave us plenty of time for photos,beckoning to myself and my husband to join the children, one being 4 months old. We Hooe he's there this Christmas too so we can make it a tradition. The santa helper was brilliant too.Thankyou for your kindness.

Lovely food and friendly waiting staff, really nice visit

As a party of 5 adults, my 20 year old daughter wanted breakfast with Santa as it is a family tradition. We usually visit somewhere else but left it too late to book and I'm glad we did!! Staff were amazing, welcoming and friendly. Amelia even had her photo with Santa and received a gift! We had so much fun and really enjoyed ourselves. I've already booked for Christmas Eve 2025!

We booked well in advance and pre-ordered food ahead of our visit in December, but the experience was very disappointing. Cutlery was dirty with chunks of dried food. One of the pre-ordered starters wasn’t available, another starter, BBQ beef Yorkshire puddings, were served almost cold. The carvery was the biggest letdown. Gammon was the only meat available, which some of our group couldn’t eat. While a cheese and onion pie alternative was offered, we were still charged full price for their carvery. The rest of the selection was also poor, with hard parsnips and plain mash, plus soggy carrots and roast potatoes. Gravy had to be requested as it had also run out alongside almost everything else, despite it being a relatively quiet night. Only decent sides were the stuffing and cheese & onion mash. So instead of the full carvery experience that we were expecting, we ended up with gammon and a few mediocre sides. Desserts weren’t the best either, cakes not as good as last time we visited, and the Cherry bauble dessert had ice chunks in the ice cream like it had been refrozen. After one member of our group contacted them privately about some of the main issues, we were eventually contacted and offered a £30 voucher. This doesn’t come close to addressing the issues for a meal for 9 people, £3.33 each doesn’t even cover 1 drink nevermind the food. Food, service, and response to complaints were all disappointing - I would not recommend.

The food here yesterday was barely edible: undercooked fries, overcooked and hard burger drowned in sickly sauce. I was offered another drink rather than a refund!

My partner and I went for a carvery on Boxing day and the food seemed as though it was warmed up. The meat was fine , however the roast potatoes were terrible, seemed like they were warmed up from the day before!! Vegetables were ok. We've had bad stomachs all night and we've had to pay a lot of money for a disappointment meal. We will be taking our custom elsewhere from now on.

It does what it says on the tin. It's not earth shattering food but you'll leave full and not have to cook. Also there's plenty of veg on the dinner

Family of 7 came for breakfast with Santa and it was so lovely, first I’d like to thank Father Christmas for being so good we feel rushed and he made it really special and let us take as many pictures as we’d like, the food was really nice with fresh coffee and a selection of tea bags also jugs of juice, all the staff were very friendly and helpful We will definitely book again for next year thank you

Came here today for the breakfast with Santa and it was a magical experience. The food for breakfast was lovely. Lots to choose from, hot and tasty. The ambience of the pub itself felt very Christmassy! It’s decorated so nice. The set up for Santa was perfect. My son was amazed with Santa himself who gave ample time to have a really good conversation with him and make him (and us) laugh and when we got home he proudly displayed his certificate for being on the nice list on fireplace. Leigh was brilliant and took lots of photos for us which looked really professional and magical. It was a really great experience. Thank you!

Visited on 22/12/24 for breakfast with Santa. My little boy was in complete awe when he saw Santa, the Jolly Santa was fantastic with him and the experience didn’t feel rushed, it was so magical.. Leigh was great with interacting with the queue, it was a very well run event! Thank You for being part of an amazing memory for myself and my son. Would definitely recommend!

We had a family get together yesterday chosing the festive meals We arrived and the table was set with red table cloths and crackers. It looked lovely. Our waitress Levi was amazing .... we all ate at the same time and the 3 courses were delicious. Levi checked on our table regularly throughout the meal. Breakfast with santa 4 adults and 3 children. Food was great. Santa was amazing as always this is our 2nd year visiting the Jolly santa and he is just fantastic so attentive with the children and sownds plenty of time with them. Thank you ash tree for putting on this lovely event

We had breakfast with Santa this morning and it was brilliant! Leigh was great at hosting, very friendly and approachable. The Santa was brilliant as well everyone loved it!

We visited today as a family treat to get together before Christmas, especially as we won’t be seeing each other on Christmas Day and have recently experienced a bereavement in the family. We arrived at 2 PM and placed our food and drink orders via the app. It took around 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and the food followed roughly 10 minutes later. Some of us ended up going to the bar for additional drinks, as the wait for drinks to accompany our food felt too long. The service was slower than expected, and the atmosphere behind the bar wasn’t particularly welcoming, with staff appearing quite disengaged. For example, when ordering drinks directly at the bar, I waited around 10 minutes to be served, even though there was only one person ahead of me. Midway through our meal, a server approached our table and asked how much longer we planned to stay, as they wanted to reserve the table for someone else. This felt rushed and a little discourteous, especially as we hadn’t yet finished eating and still wanted to order desserts. What made this more confusing was that all other tables in our area near the children’s play area were already empty. It wasn’t clear why they needed our table when so many others were free. There was also an issue with missing items – we didn’t receive the pigs in blankets we’d paid for. However, credit where it’s due, the food that did arrive was hot, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The kitchen staff clearly did a good job. Later, we decided to order desserts directly at the bar, as some family members wanted to see the takeaway cake selection. Again, the wait was quite long, and the service felt unwelcoming. When placing the order, I tried to use my Blue Light discount card, which I’d successfully used earlier in the app for our food orders for tables 1 and 3. The discount applied without issue for those orders. However, the server at the bar, an older woman with shoulder-length dirty blonde hair, insisted the discount couldn’t be used on Sundays. Despite showing her the app, which clearly states the discount can be used all day, every day, it was still refused. Her response was, “Well, I’ve been told it can’t be used on a Sunday.” This created an uncomfortable and awkward moment for us, and I ended up paying full price to avoid further discussion. Overall, the experience fell short of our expectations. While the food was good, the slow service, lack of warmth from staff, missing items, and issues with the discount made it less enjoyable. It’s disappointing, as we’ve held similar family gatherings here before, but we may need to consider alternative venues in the future. ===== Update to owners reply ===== For the sake of the £1.75 and the already bad experience, being rushed to leave and the embarrassment and lack of interest already at the tills and long wait times, this wasn't brought to your servers attention as I'd rather be £1.75 out of pocket than stay another 10 minutes for the sake of 2 sausages. Unfortunately we shall now be eating elsewhere at our family get together. Some of us travelled from all over the north West to meet and enjoy a once a year get together at your eatery. We were hoping for somthing special this year but we're let down by Ash Tree Farm

Been to Ash Tree Farm today with family and we had excellent service and food. We were a party of 10 and the staff really looked after us throughout. Thank you so much for making our day so special. Would highly recommend.

We booked for a group of 22 people as we would be eating here for our Christmas lunch. Upon arrival, we took our seats at the table. Some people ordered starters but I hadn't, so I, along with others waited until the staff were ready to serve the Main. The waiting staff were simply shouting out orders and if you had ordered this, then the food goes to you. They had absolutely no idea who had pre-ordered what and passed around a list for us to check. When you pre-order in a restaurant, the chef already has a menu of what each person is having and the waiting staff ensure that this reaches the right person - its as simple as that. This brings me on to my order. I had pre-ordered a 'He's Bean Burger' (see photo of menu), knowing that this is 100% going to be vegetarian as I do not eat meat for religious reasons. I waited for one hour and five minutes but no order arrived. Instead, I sat there watching my friends eat their food and answering questions about where my food is. Even the people that had ordered a Carvery had gone to collect it, ate it and were discussing dessert but mine hadn't arrived yet. When the waiter finally arrived, she hands me a plate. I check the burger and it is full of meat - a Camembert burger (see photo of menu). I query this with the waiter and she says "oh sorry, that one should be for the other table across, if you could just swap over please" swap with what exactly?! he has no food on his plate too! so she then tells me that I ordered a Camembert burger so that is what she has given me. I know this to be false as I do not eat meat so why would I order a Camembert burger?! they have clearly messed up the order but wouldn't own up to the mistake. The male staff offered to make another burger, but this would be in addition to the Camembert burger, plus the £5.00 deposit that I had already paid as a part of the booking process - I declined. Why would I pay for two burgers when I only want one and hadn't even touched the meat one? so after all this waiting, I literally had no food at all due to their mistake. I had pre ordered a dessert (photo attached) which became my Main and dessert. When going to pay, the male staff told me to pay £11.99 so I told him if it was for the dessert only , since that is what I have had. He told me, "no, someone has had to make that burger so you have to pay for that even if you didn't eat it. I did offer to make you another one" yeah, on top of what I am already paying so who is benefitting there? I told him I didn't agree with him but I will pay anyway as there were other people waiting to pay and I didn't want to cause a scene. In total, this dessert cost me £16.99 - that is one expensive dessert. What annoyed me is not the mistake that was made, people make mistakes all the time. The least they could do was accept it, I didn't even get an apology so accepting it is way beyond them. I have been to many restaurants but this is just poor customer service. You don't tell your customer, well you can either eat it or order another - that's unprofessional. You would apologise, correct your mistake and take it as a loss. I didn't eat it for religious reasons so they pretty much put me in a position where I had no option at all. I have been to this place many years before and it used to be ok but I certainly wont be returning.

I took my 5 year old great grandaughter to breakfast with santa on sunday 15.12.24 and we had a fantastic time ,the food as usual was excellent ,the atmosphere ,the decoration for christmas and als father christmas were all brilliant,emily lee zana and oliver were so attentive and great with the children,my great grandaughter got a lovely present and pictures to colour .Over all well worth the money and we will certainly go back and do it again.

Went there today for a carvery the food was cold the roasties were just warm and they just came out. The room was cold had to sit there with coats on. There was no atmosphere at all. Altogether not a good experience today

We came as a family, table of 8. We all ordered individually with the majority ordering from the menu. Me and my partner decided on getting the carvery which ended up being the best choice. Some nice slices of meet and an amazing variety to choose from. Massive shout out to the guy serving us (didn’t catch his name) but he was full of jokes and was having a laugh with all the customers. The cheesy onion mash was a hit! He made sure everything was topped up so no one missed out. Fast service overall and friendly, efficient staff :)

Excellent customer service, shown to our prebooked table within minutes of arriving, table was clean and set with everything we needed, ordering was easy and convenient, we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrived, the food itself was hot and very tasty with generous portions, staff were courteous, accommodating and eager to please, overall an excellent experience.

I thought I would treat me and my daughter a Carvery from Ashtree Farm a treat for us delivery was quick food was cold so thought warm it up so we did , well what a disappointment the beef was over cooked, the sprouts were rock hard, no Yorkshire pudding but hey ho well the potatoes were solid and the roast potatoes were really not nice at all, the treat ended up in the bin it was that bad really disappointed Ashtree Farm gutted

I've only got to say wow. I ordered for delivery for the first time this afternoon as my local carvery place was shut I was devastated and I'm always hesitant about trying somewhere new. I ordered the carvery deal a full carvery and a cake. I was utterly speechless when it arrived. Massive portions a full range of trimmings, and the biggest cake I've ever seen in my life! I couldn't even manage a quarter of it! Speechless but non the less absolutely beautiful! I'll definitely be back! I don't think I could ever return to my local, you guys put them to shame. Lee has been incredible for helping us plan our Christmas day dinner, he has been reassuring from start to finish and easy to communicate with. Also whilst there, its rude not to grab a Cakeaway, which we asked who made the cakes as she does not get enough credit for being in the back all day, so also a huge shoutout to Ellie who prepares the best cakes in Tameside!
