Dennis gave us great service and was helpful. Food is always good and family really enjoyed.

Wouldn’t recommend eating here - poor customer service. We waited 30 minutes for someone to come over and take our order despite multiple attempts to grab someone’s attention. It took another 15 minutes for drinks to arrive. When the food did arrive, it arrived cold. I tried to return my pizza for it to be heated up but the waiters English wasn’t the best and we had a show to get to so left it. When we paid, the waiter didn’t say thank you and threw the receipt on the table and walked away without saying goodbye to us. It would have been much quicker and a better experience to eat in the city centre.

Pizza was terrible under cooked and tasted like dough,loads of puree at the edges non in center, mac and cheese burnt and flavourless, chefs looked like they where high on gear, will never come hear again, give it a miss if you like cooked food with flavour.

Absolutely terrible experience at Pizza Express, staff are just ridiculously bad here. A group of 3 of us were seated for 30 minutes no one turned up to take our order despite of calling the waiters. Restaurant was not even busy to be honest and they just had to 2 waiters all occupied with tables that even arrived after us. Couldn’t even bother to complain as no one seemed to give a damn including the host who seated us and told us someone would be with us in 5min which ended up to 30mins. We got frustrated as we really wanted pizzas that day but walked out and had to dine elsewhere. Such a waste of time. No service from the staff! Such a shame!!

I visited the restaurant with family yesterday afternoon, and our experience was excellent! The food was great, the service was both friendly and quick, and our waitress was very accommodating to any requirements that we asked for. Overall a fantastic experience, definitely recommend!

Although a quiet Monday evening it was a special birthday for my partner. I rang prior to attending to book a table explaining it was my partners 50th birthday. I spoke to Daniel who in a word was outstanding. On arrival we had been given a lovely placed table in a quiet area and the staff were fantastic. Daniel himself came over to say hi and even sang an xfactor worthy “happy birthday to ya” Stevie Wonder when brining out my partners birthday desert (far bigger piece than mine) although slightly embarrassed they made our evening a truly wonderful experience. The food was lovely as always and knowing I’m allergic to cheese (yes I know) they made an amazing create your own pizza for me. On Friday night, me my friend and her daughter needed somewhere to have a nice meal. I was concerned about the cheese and pasta but the chicken parmigiana which the amazing people in pizza express changed the pasta to gluten free pasta and the cheese to vegan cheese for me 😁 even better, they checked on me to see if I had proper allergies and if I was ok with the chicken due to the breadcrumbs they used. Thank you pizza express for your kindness and understanding. I would go back next time I'm here

Rude staff, undercooked pizza and burnt calamari

We booked a fairly large table on a night where there was an event on at the NEC so it was really busy. The lady who served us - Laura, was really nice, friendly and helpful. You could see how busy all the staff were. She repeated our order back to make sure it was correct and the food came quite quickly considering it was so busy. I can't comment for everyone at my table but I think they all enjoyed their food. I enjoyed my pizza.

This is at the NEC and there was a show on so it was quite busy in the restaurant. Despite that I was seated instantly, and the service was really prompt which you appreciate when you’re on your own. Food was great, really fresh (hot!) and Laura was attentive, super friendly and there when you needed something.

Very nice food, good atmosphere but very very expensive for what it is. Nice, but wouldn't go there again as I don't think it's great value for money.

We had a CrossFit competition at the Excel and we haven’t booked anywhere for dinner. We got to pizza express and they squeezed us in which was super kind as we were a table of 20. Claire the server was really lovely and attentive and the food was exactly what we needed! Thanks!

We came as a group of 20 people after attending an event at the NEC, with no booking. And the team was lovely and accommodated us with no issue, and took great care of us. Thank you Claire for looking after us! Food was delivered fast, and was delicious.

Dirty tables, under staffed it seemed. Long wait times. Paid cheque then no deserts without chasing two servers. Cold pizza served for mains. Never been so disappointed with Pizza Express.

Food is overpriced and portions are small, there are way too many tables and chairs which means you can hardly move to get to the toilet etc and feel very penned in, staff were friendly but clearly struggling as the service wasn't great, not a terrible place, but not somewhere I would want to come back to in a hurry.

I knew it was going to be busy. So expected to wait. That was OK. Myself and partner ordered starter and a main course. The main course arrived and was perfect. However, we enquired about the starter. Was advised "it's on the way" Finished main course and starter still hadn't arrived. 10 minutes after finishing main, the starter arrived. I asked for this to be returned and refunded. Not the best experience. Blue Light Card is accepted. 20% discount

We had limited time and they were very busy but managed to fit us in. We were alerted to the fact they were so busy and food would take a while by Claire and Josh but we thought we would chance it and see if we could get some food before we had to go. Unfortunately we couldn't get what we wanted in time due to how busy they were but the whole situation was managed exceptionally well by Claire and Josh (his first week). We just had some starters and drinks and then had to leave but the experience was only a positive one because of the efforts and attentiveness of Claire and Josh. Had it not been for their efforts it could easily have been 1 star.

Came in for lunch while shopping with a friend. Had not booked but were quickly seated after a warm welcome at the door. Our order was taken within a couple minutes of sitting down and drinks and starters came quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive, one youngish man (assuming to be the manager) helped us through the app to claim our rewards without making us feel rushed or embarrassed about not knowing how to use it before. Food was very nicely presented and clearly freshly made as well as tasty. Our waiter was able to make a couple suggestions about pizza options to my friend who had not dined with pizza express before. Desserts (I had the honeycomb cheesecake, she had the biscoff sundae) were beautifully served and tasted amazing too. Whole experience was all round quick and efficient without being rushed, as well as friendly and memorable. Will be returning next time I am in the resorts world area.

Resorts world Birmingham - had the worst experience here. 3 of us. Cold dough balls, missing starter, then when we talked to waiter, he blamed us for not ordered the missing starter and kitchen was busy remaking our dough balls. Very rude waiter, not customer friendly. Took 45 minutes for starter. Then the pizzas came out while still eating starters. Missing sides from main. Twice we asked to speak to manager, who when came over was a little apologetic and gave us the starters free. Would never eat here again.

Never thought I’d spend 3 hours for a bloody pizza and 1 sundae honestly the service was incredibly slow and the guy had an attitude because we asked him to take the plates after it was sitting there for an hour absolute joke

Visited recently with family and had such a great experience. Friendly, attentive staff who were so great at advising us what food would be best for us to share. Food was amazing, so fresh and delicious and very reasonably priced for what you get. The atmosphere was also great, a big space with plenty of seats and not too busy at all during the week. Overall we had a great experience and we will definitely be returning again soon :)

The food takes forever (like 45 mins for 2 pizzas) and it’s not even that busy!! It’s definitely not ‘express’. Servers also are running around seemingly busy but no one ever notices that you’re waiting for them to take your order. When we sat for 30 mins still haven’t got our order we asked the waiter for it and he said “We have an event and we’re prioritizing them instead”…that was a such a horrible response. I don’t recommend the place really, although food is good but it’s not worth the wait.

Me and my partner came into the restaurant this evening after a day of shopping at Resorts World. We walked into a very busy restaurant but greeted by the lovely manager who was kind and polite, we didnt expect a table but he sat us down quickly even though he seemed to be dealing with all tables. He kept us up-to date regarding wait times on food. I have also got to give praise to Tuda our waiter they were swift, kind and very helpful. Considering the restaurant was busy the food was delivered in a good time and was delicious. If i could give the Service a higher rating i would because i know how hard it can be!

Took the family to eat. The food is great, unfortunately the bill came where it's suppose to be children eat free. Emailed customer service about this and they admit there was fault and gave me an e-voucher. Matter resolved only because of the email. Such a shame

The best pizzas around, by far. I always go for the Romana padana (my go-to pizza), a side-salad and polenta chips. Good, friendly service too.

Been here twice. Sevice is good, but not impressed by the chefs. First time the pizzas were overdone. Second time they were great but took nearly 40 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant - I suspect they burned them and started from fresh because we could smell burning then the table who arrived much later was served immediately after we were.

The pizzas were average at best, which was surprising given the brand's reputation. In fact, I find the Pizza Express branded pizzas available in supermarkets to be significantly better in taste and quality. It's disappointing that the fresh, in-store pizzas didn't live up to expectations. Based on this experience, I recommend skipping the restaurant and opting for the supermarket version instead – it's not only tastier but also more budget-friendly.

Amazing food and very friendly staff

Be warned on event dates- I made a reservation for 6.30pm months in advance and had to wait 45mins to be seated, as essentially it was still a first come first serve basis. There's really no point taking reservations if they don't adhere to them. Food was okay, felt rushed, staff rushed off their feet, so inattentive.

I visited this restaurant yesterday and was very pleased with the food and service from the staff... I would like to say a special thank you to danny he went above and beyond to make sure our visit was memorable :)

AWFUL EXPERIENCE Waiter recommended I go with special offer, showed me the price on leaflet, I went with his recommendation. Bill came apparently I needed the app to get the deal, that wasn't mentioned to me previously!!! Manager came over with a attitude (for a pizza boy he was sure thought he was it, hate to see what he would be like with a decent paid job!!!) After a painful discussion with the manager, he sluggishly trotted off and sorted it out!!!! Wouldn't go here again or any other Pizza express This happened on Sunday 16 June 24 around 6pm ( Just so the jobs worth pizza boy Manager knows it's him I'm talking about!!!)

So the pizzas were gorgeous. Freshly prepared, great crust. But that's where it ends. Service was atrocious. They made mistakes, were running around like headless chickens, and were not knowledgeable. It was very busy and it became so loud you couldn't understand your seat neighbour. The staff was overwhelmed, and the manager was not helping but just looking on. Overall we left with our belly's full and our ears ringing

Insanely good service for a pizza place. Food was perfect and priced decently given the location

It wasn't even that busy but the service we received made it seem like there were dozens of diners. It took an hour to get our pizzas and they were cold, hard as a rock, and missing half the toppings. Our STARTERS came 30 mins after the pizzas and were burned. We had to ask for our drinks several times and never received the pepper we asked for. Then to top it all off, when we tried to pay with our NHS discount, the waiter just said, "No." That's it. "No." A manager ended up sorting it but what a nightmare. We go to the NEC several times a year and will absolutely stay clear of this place. Go to the Vietnamese restaurant upstairs instead. Even when they're slammed, the food and service is amazing.

Booked 2 hours prior to a show on a Tuesday night thinking that’d be plenty of time for food. Sadly not. Got served a starter in the space of an hour and a half, no apology, no update on delay in food, left hungry and no empathy from staff.

I popped in to Pizza Express with my daughters after a cinema trip and we had a lovely time. We were served by Italy who was wonderful with the kids and made sure they had everything they needed. The kids got straight to work with their activity packs and crayons! The food arrived very quickly and was super tasty. We can always rely on Pizza Express for a brilliant family meal that the kids will actually eat! Thank you Italy for your wonderful service :-)

When we arrived, there was a very big queue as Slash, myles Kennedy and the conspirators were playing nearby that night , so as you can guess there are a lot of people wanting to be fed , when the team saw my phone and I had a reservation asked me to step outside the queue and she would go find out where my table was , we were very quickly seated, Someone came to take our order for a drink and food. Everyone was so friendly and not stressed considering how busy it was. I was impressed. Food was lovely and so are your staff. Would definitely recommend booking in advance if it’s a concert going on nearby, will book next time again so we can eat at your establishment love it

Awful rude manager, needs customer service training

Unfortunately I can't give a review. We wanted to eat there with a total of 9 people. Although there would have been enough space, we were told that we couldn't get a seat because there were too many people and such large groups weren't served.

Definitely not the Italian Pizza (closer to a Turkish Lamachun really) but not bad.

We loved the food at Pizza Express. We ordered a Classic Pizza; Veg Giardiniera, Spinach and Cheese Cannelloni and Polenta Chips. In addition to this we also ordered some dips; Basil & Pesto and Chilli Basil. 1. PIZZA - The pizza was a very nice choice especially for vegetarians who love veg toppings on their pizza. The pizza originally has vegan mozzarella but we asked to get non-vegan mozzarella which was amazing. The crust was perfect and the tomato sauce was really tasty. 2. CANNELLONI - The cannelloni came with a Spinach and Cheese filling. It had a tomato sauce base, topped with baked cheese. Just one word - BELLISSIMO ⭐️ 3. POLENTA CHIPS - We ordered polenta chips in the end which came with a honey and mustard dip. It was slightly disappointing since the first 2 dishes were top-notch. It was fried cornflour sticks. Did not have much of a flavour, hence, it falls short. 4. DIPS - Both the dips were awesome!!! The pesto was straight outta heaven. Extremely fresh tasting. All in all, a great experience. Highly recommend!

The chef wasn't that great at cooking and preparing my food. I asked for a standard pepperoni and got a pineapple pizza. I'm disappointed in this and would like to share my experience for other customers. Please have a word with the chef. He 5,8 white with a mole on his face. He kept giving me dirty looks and I felt uncomfortable. Please speak to him. Thank you

Had one of the best experiences eating in a restaurant in a long time here. Our waitress Italy was fantastic. Nothing was to much trouble. Very attentive, accommodating and polite. I hope she is recognised by the company as she would be the reason we would choose to revisit! Complete asset to the business.

Danny and Laura were amazing. Totally saved the day when we have been left waiting at the business next door for 45 min for a table, despite being told 10mins, with a very hungry 6 year old. Great food, thankyou again.

Had a wonderful visit here recently, booked in through the app and had some rewards to use on our order, so we had some amazing discounted food! Staff were very friendly and attentive, even while it was busy and the energy was lively with good music playing. I enjoy bringing family and friends here as it is always a wonderful visit with compliments to the chefs, managers, waiters, all staff, all around. We will be visiting again soon!

We ate here before attending Free Radio at the Arena and our server Italy was amazing despite the restaurant being busy. She promptly brought over our drinks and then our deserts at the end, and also had time to help my daughter wind up my son (light heartedly of course) which absolutely made her day. We will 100% be returning when in the area.

We went to the Resorts World restaurant. Service and food were exceptional. Our server Danny welcomed us warmly and courteously, and his professional, softly spoken manner continued throughout. He went above and beyond in ensuring we were ok/satisfied, even offering to bring some cucumber for our baby son - a touching gesture we have not seen elsewhere. The food was great but it was actually Danny's service that really made the experience. He made our day and we will certainly be dining here again. Thank you.
