Had a great experience at Pizza Express. The staff were all polite, welcoming and helpful. Service was good and fast. The food was very nice. We really enjoyed it! Me and me partner had- -garlic bread, -Chicken Parmigiana - margarita pizza. I would recommend Pizza Express to others.

Don't attend this restaurant if you're on a schedule - they're too slow. 1 hr 30 minutes seemingly isn't enough time to serve up 3 mains and 3 kids meals. We had to rush off so children couldn't even have their ice cream. My table were completely under serviced for extra drinks etc and I was also overcharged by the restaurant. If you do decide to attend... Don't attend as a party of Males with children. This allegedly makes the young female waitresses uncomfortable. Further to this, if you want to flag a waitress for service don't use your hands, this is seen as being intimidating. The correct approach is to shout excuse me from the other side of the restaurant. (Advice provided by manager in follow up call the next day) Don't chase food after waiting 40 minutes. The waitress will come to the table to start an unnecessary back and forth about what time you ordered rather than providing any assurances. After this expect to be branded as rude, abrupt and intimidating. Regardless of whether you use your please and thank you's. Don't provide feedback to the manager in a follow up call. She'll give a really strong account of events that did not happen and rather than make everybody's life easier and acknowledge shortfalls in service she'll go above and beyond to speak over you, tell blatant lies and make you sound like a villain for your dissatisfaction. Bizarre experience to say the least. Avoid.

Firstly, I love pizza express due to their excellent gluten free range. However, when I recently attended the food wasn’t edible. I ordered the new Gluten Free Spicy Chicken & Chorizo Pasta and the pasta wasn’t cooked properly, it was rock hard. We waited 20+ minutes for our drink order to be even taken as staff were too busy talking. The environment was incredibly cold that we had to sit and eat our dinner with our coats on.

Very busy during half term for lunch!! They did have a good deal on.

Lovely setting with great views of the water. The service was exceptional and they were great with kids. Thank you for a lovely meal.

The pizza at Pizza Express wasn’t a real pizza, it was more like a focaccia in both dough and size. A real pizza is never smaller than the plate. However, the service was very polite and fast.

Was a lovely atmosphere and was treated with respect and had great communication, the food was great and service was good, my server, Shayan, was friendly and kept checking on us to make sure everything was ok.

Been multiples times before and this was definitely the best experience! My waiter Shayah was professional, welcoming and went above and beyond with our food requirements and gift card. Before our trip we were hoping we got served by Shayah as he is the best and always remembers us! Thank you again, will be back.

Went here tonight with my friends, the food was yummy and my waiter shayan was very helpful as i’m very picky and it can be hard to deal with my odd meal requests. the chef also has as very helpful for this. thank you so much shayan and i will be returning and hoping i have him as a waiter

I love pizza express Shayah was our waitress and let me tell you he is the BEST. Got me my dough balls in style and DOUBLED my pasta portion like a king. Also dealt with us not knowing how much is on our gift card did different amounts until we figured it out. Will be back for him and him only. Go shayah!!!

Had a really lovely meal accompanied by excellent service from Alyssia. She was very attentive and happy to accommodate our dietary requirements (dairy allergy). It was a little quiet but overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

Visited on a Saturday night as a family of four. We booked ahead but arrived early and were still seated. We were served by Shayan, who was friendly, helpful and efficient. Would visit again.

Just the same as every other pizza express, good pizzas, mozz sticks very greasy but good service. It was quite cold inside but it looked like they were having some issues with heating and were doing everything they could to combat it.

The server was wonderful easily able to accommodate our discount codes and provided us with everything and good conversation.

I've always loved Pizza Express for dining in. The staff always seem so friendly. I was in a bit of a rush, but they always seem soo efficient and I'm never waiting for too long.

We had a great experience at Pizza Express today. We were a group of 10 adults, 2 teens and 2 toddlers. The food was good, everyone enjoyed their choices but what really made it was the exceptional service. The young man serving our table (so sorry I didn't ask his name) was efficient, friendly and helpful and managed to keep everyone happy. The other staff were also keen to ensure everything was good for us. We all commented on the excellent level of service.

This week, I have eaten at 6 different pizza expresses and tried most of the menu and have saved loads using the new app. The waiter was great here for us, which helped us enjoy the experience. Getting to gold is amazing. I got a free cookbook this time. Food was great, and both my son and myself enjoyed it. A lot busier maybe because of the heavy rain. They had heaters around the restaurant to keep us toasty.

It was okay for a Monday night, staff were excellent.

Food was ok but took an hour to come on a night that was not busy and the staff were pleasant enough but were more interested in chatting between themselves than being attentive.

Always great service and nice food. Pleasant view of the old Quay. Family friendly and has a good kids menu. Room can be cold and a bit lifeless, but that is a minor grumble.

This evening we chose to dine at pizza express in princess quay hull. We had a comedy event to attend (Paul smith) as it wasn’t that busy and confirming this with the waitress we took our seats. We ordered promptly. One pizza one Mac and cheese, two coca colas. 15 minutes passed when we had to remind the waitress about our drinks and after 20 minutes we finally got them. Time was getting on at this point as we got told within 25 minutes we would have our food which was ideal as start of Paul Smith was 2000hrs. We thought if we had left by 1945 this would be plenty of time to get to our seats. 1945 and we called the waitress over enquiring about our food, in almost a joking manner stated “oh I don’t actually know if I remembered to put the order through let me check” this lead me to say if it hasn’t been put through I’ll just leave it with have places to be. She then informed me that the food was “just coming out” now I’m not sure if a snail was on the pass but it was another five minutes to have this boxed up (we had to ask to takeaway as we had no chance to sit down and dine) by the time we had walked to the car I noticed my pizza wasn’t even cut. Too late to eat now so the pizza and mac and cheese got binned as we wouldn’t be eating the food cold. This has put me off pizza express completely. I could have ordered a dominoes and had it ordered and delivered in less time than that of pizza “express” will not be using pizza express again.

pizza lovely but I asked for no mushrooms in my pasta and it came with mushrooms, had to pick them all out. Not great when you've paid £15, for it to arrive wrong! can't even get a refund because I can't access the email my account is registered to so feeling a bit annoyed really, took more effort to put them in than leave them out!

Great pizza, efficient & friendly staff and nice location. Kids ate for £1 each as well which helps make eating out more appealing for families

Burnt pasta, expensive CAN of Coke, staff that talk too quietly. Tables left untidy with plates on.

Our visit to Pizza Express yesterday was quite disappointing from the start. The waitress was acting strange, almost glaring at us, and seemed to be lurking around in an unsettling way. We sat at a large table meant for seven people, with our kids, and even though we each placed our orders separately, the waitress still combined our bills despite our requests to have them split. To make matters worse, we found out that one of the four kids had to pay the full price for their meal, even though the "Kids Eat for £1 during summer holidays" promotion was supposed to apply. I specifically asked the waitress if the promotion was valid, and she confirmed it, but later the manager told us that if we had sat at separate tables, they would have split the bills. Ridiculous. There was no apology, nothing. Apparently, if you come with friends, you have to sit separately if you want to pay individually. The service was terrible, and the company’s policy is just as bad. Because they combined our bills, we ended up paying full price for one child despite the holiday promotion, and no one informed us about this beforehand. They made the decision for us about whether the promotion would apply, which was completely thoughtless. Then, we had to sit and figure out who owed what to whom—absolutely awful. In any normal restaurant, splitting the bill is never an issue. I do not recommend this place at all. To add to the frustration, the waitress, knowing we were with kids, made us wait 40 minutes before serving the main courses because the kids were eating starters. With kids, sometimes they eat this, sometimes that—it’s unpredictable. The table was huge, and everything would have fit. Utterly disappointing.

A nice moat view with a fancy feel of the plates and how they add leaves on top. But the garlic bread with cheese tasted like an indoor swimming pool. Overall I’ll say is a great restaurant and have quick service.

Friendly and helpful staff with prompt and careful service. The highlight of the restaurant was its waterside location that lets much natural light reflect into the dining area and create a relaxing, luminous atmosphere.

Visited this Hull branch today after a visit to The Deep. Food as usual for Pizza Express was very nice and our waitress was great too. The only reason I give 3 stars is the cleanliness 😕 the cleaning is definitely below standard if other Pizza Express restaurants. The mirrors in the ladies are all splattered with water marks that look like been there months, the sinks were really grubby looking and the stairs on the way out were pretty disgusting tbh! The music was also a little too loud in my option 😬 had to kind of shout to eachother over it . The manager here definitely needs to address the cleaning routine at the branch .

I've always loved eating at Pizza Express (it was my first time eating at this branch). Unfortunately, during our last visit, the Pollo Pesto Pasta was extremely undercooked. The pasta was really hard and tasted almost like starch. I told the server and we were informed that it was al dente and it has always been cooked that way because it's "gluten-free", and if a customer wants it to be cooked, they would have to cook it for 15 minutes. He also mentioned that it's been done that way for about 3 years now. If that was the case, I believe we should have been informed prior. I know what al dente is and that definitely wasn't it. Additionally, I've always ordered Pollo Pesto Pasta from different branches of Pizza Express and none of those that I've had are that undercooked. Extremely disappointed.

Not very nice food. Overpriced and and the wrong order was delivered. Asked to see manager but all they did was bring the bill. Will definitely not be going to any of these retailers again.

My son and his friend were given the wrong order (21/04/24) and after letting the waitress know that was not what they ordered they were asked if they wanted their actual order then charged for everything. After leaving messages for a week someone got in touch and was adamant (110% her words) my son and his friend lied I’m beyond fuming.

The size of the garlic bread with mozzarella was 4 " absolutely delicious for the price the pizza I'm convinced was frozen was a 3/10 hardly no cheese and dry tasteless pepperoni. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Went in asked for a table for 2, got yoldit would be another hour! The place was nearly empty, not one ws reserved on the tables. I was on the understanding you had a percentage of table set aside for wslk ins, obviously not.

I would have prefer the starters and the salad to be served first, and when I finish them to be served the main.

The pizza was very good, certainly not cheap for a pizza however once in a while it's worth it. I did think £3.50 for a bottle of sparkling water was a touch excessive though.

We visited our local Pizza Express in Hull city centre, yesterday (10/02/24). We had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was super busy (which you expect on a Saturday) so service were slightly slow but we expected this. We was served by Shayan and he was lovely, and his customer service was incredible and he is a credit to that restaurant. Our food was piping hot, and totally delicious. Shayan was super attentive and apologised for delays, and was friendly and had a happy face. We had a lovely experience, thank you ☺️

Absolutely love this place the staff are all amazing and the food is fabulous

3 out of the 4 of us had pizza & tbf all said they were excellent, however the grand pollo Milanese was poor at best. Salad was simply a handful of rocket leaves with 3/4 bits of sun dried tomato in the mix. No seasoning/dressing/flavour or gran Milano cheese. Staff were a little hot & cold. We made our points & all was handled ok. Not in any rush to go back to back to the brand

Had the lasagne and polenta fries which was absolutely gorgeous whilst got my drink dough ball and soft drink free by using the reward on the app. honestly totally recommend using the app. Staff was always quick to get whats was needed and ensure that I was truly satisfied with my time there. Chill environment with pretty view out into the city center. Would recommend for everyone.
