Always great service and nice food. Pleasant view of the old Quay. Family friendly and has a good kids menu. Room can be cold and a bit lifeless, but that is a minor grumble.

Busy restaurant tonight for nephew's birthday. Food was delicious and service was excellent 👌

This evening we chose to dine at pizza express in princess quay hull. We had a comedy event to attend (Paul smith) as it wasn’t that busy and confirming this with the waitress we took our seats. We ordered promptly. One pizza one Mac and cheese, two coca colas. 15 minutes passed when we had to remind the waitress about our drinks and after 20 minutes we finally got them. Time was getting on at this point as we got told within 25 minutes we would have our food which was ideal as start of Paul Smith was 2000hrs. We thought if we had left by 1945 this would be plenty of time to get to our seats. 1945 and we called the waitress over enquiring about our food, in almost a joking manner stated “oh I don’t actually know if I remembered to put the order through let me check” this lead me to say if it hasn’t been put through I’ll just leave it with have places to be. She then informed me that the food was “just coming out” now I’m not sure if a snail was on the pass but it was another five minutes to have this boxed up (we had to ask to takeaway as we had no chance to sit down and dine) by the time we had walked to the car I noticed my pizza wasn’t even cut. Too late to eat now so the pizza and mac and cheese got binned as we wouldn’t be eating the food cold. This has put me off pizza express completely. I could have ordered a dominoes and had it ordered and delivered in less time than that of pizza “express” will not be using pizza express again.

Amazing food and service every time we go , Been away on holiday and was our first stop when we got home certainly wasn’t disappointed at all .

I always order carbonara when visiting pizza express, and was surprised to see they had changed it when it arrived. It was no more than 3/4 mouthfuls of pasta served in the bowl. Barely any sauce, pasta was dry and overcooked. Images show the usual carbonara and the updated version. Shocking for the price. Also has a gift card to redeem. Each member of the party had to download the app, select what they had ordered, and the waitress had to approve it. It took around 4 times of the waitress going back and forth to approve each meal to eventually redeem the gift card and pay the bill. So unpractical & time consuming just to deduct a gift card. Why isn’t this just available for staff to scan at the till? It took us around 10-15 mins to pay the bill once we had received it due to all the messing around with the app. For the price, I wouldn’t visit again. Very overpriced for average food.

pizza lovely but I asked for no mushrooms in my pasta and it came with mushrooms, had to pick them all out. Not great when you've paid £15, for it to arrive wrong! can't even get a refund because I can't access the email my account is registered to so feeling a bit annoyed really, took more effort to put them in than leave them out!

Great pizza, efficient & friendly staff and nice location. Kids ate for £1 each as well which helps make eating out more appealing for families

Expensive cans of Coke and burnt pasta with little flavor. The quality was very disappointing considering the high prices. The ambiance was nice, but the food didn’t live up to the expectations. Our visit to Pizza Express yesterday was quite disappointing from the start. The waitress was acting strange, almost glaring at us, and seemed to be lurking around in an unsettling way. We sat at a large table meant for seven people, with our kids, and even though we each placed our orders separately, the waitress still combined our bills despite our requests to have them split. To make matters worse, we found out that one of the four kids had to pay the full price for their meal, even though the "Kids Eat for £1 during summer holidays" promotion was supposed to apply. I specifically asked the waitress if the promotion was valid, and she confirmed it, but later the manager told us that if we had sat at separate tables, they would have split the bills. Ridiculous. There was no apology, nothing. Apparently, if you come with friends, you have to sit separately if you want to pay individually. The service was terrible, and the company’s policy is just as bad. Because they combined our bills, we ended up paying full price for one child despite the holiday promotion, and no one informed us about this beforehand. They made the decision for us about whether the promotion would apply, which was completely thoughtless. Then, we had to sit and figure out who owed what to whom—absolutely awful. In any normal restaurant, splitting the bill is never an issue. I do not recommend this place at all. To add to the frustration, the waitress, knowing we were with kids, made us wait 40 minutes before serving the main courses because the kids were eating starters. With kids, sometimes they eat this, sometimes that—it’s unpredictable. The table was huge, and everything would have fit. Utterly disappointing.

A nice moat view with a fancy feel of the plates and how they add leaves on top. But the garlic bread with cheese tasted like an indoor swimming pool. Overall I’ll say is a great restaurant and have quick service.

Friendly and helpful staff with prompt and careful service. The highlight of the restaurant was its waterside location that lets much natural light reflect into the dining area and create a relaxing, luminous atmosphere.

Pizza Express meh as always. Whether at an airport or in a city centre, it still is meh. P.S. Overpriced comes to mind...🤔

When did Pizza Express get so expensive?! We ordered two mains, two soft drinks, polenta fries and a child’s meal and it was nearly £50! They had the nerve to charge £3.55 for a Coke Zero which just came in a 330ml can - you can get a multipack in the supermarkets for that much! My cannelloni was burned on the edges, and the polenta fries were tepid at best. I think, unless you’ve got a gift card or vouchers, save your money and go elsewhere.

Visited this Hull branch today after a visit to The Deep. Food as usual for Pizza Express was very nice and our waitress was great too. The only reason I give 3 stars is the cleanliness 😕 the cleaning is definitely below standard if other Pizza Express restaurants. The mirrors in the ladies are all splattered with water marks that look like been there months, the sinks were really grubby looking and the stairs on the way out were pretty disgusting tbh! The music was also a little too loud in my option 😬 had to kind of shout to eachother over it . The manager here definitely needs to address the cleaning routine at the branch .

I've always loved eating at Pizza Express (it was my first time eating at this branch). Unfortunately, during our last visit, the Pollo Pesto Pasta was extremely undercooked. The pasta was really hard and tasted almost like starch. I told the server and we were informed that it was al dente and it has always been cooked that way because it's "gluten-free", and if a customer wants it to be cooked, they would have to cook it for 15 minutes. He also mentioned that it's been done that way for about 3 years now. If that was the case, I believe we should have been informed prior. I know what al dente is and that definitely wasn't it. Additionally, I've always ordered Pollo Pesto Pasta from different branches of Pizza Express and none of those that I've had are that undercooked. Extremely disappointed.

Not very nice food. Overpriced and and the wrong order was delivered. Asked to see manager but all they did was bring the bill. Will definitely not be going to any of these retailers again.

My son and his friend were given the wrong order (21/04/24) and after letting the waitress know that was not what they ordered they were asked if they wanted their actual order then charged for everything. After leaving messages for a week someone got in touch and was adamant (110% her words) my son and his friend lied I’m beyond fuming.

The size of the garlic bread with mozzarella was 4 " absolutely delicious for the price the pizza I'm convinced was frozen was a 3/10 hardly no cheese and dry tasteless pepperoni. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Had came here since a chicken restaurant was shut for the day. I’ve not been to pizza express in a long time and often forget about it existence. Today me and my partner gave it ago and we’re happy we did the pizza was lovely full with toppings and my partner really enjoyed her pasta. We will definitely come again, it was good to see it busy with other people enjoying their meals

Went in asked for a table for 2, got yoldit would be another hour! The place was nearly empty, not one ws reserved on the tables. I was on the understanding you had a percentage of table set aside for wslk ins, obviously not.

Great restaurant, good prices, tasty food, nice view, awesome service by waiters. My only complaint would be that when I ordered, they brought everything simultaneously (starters, salad and main). I would have prefer the starters and the salad to be served first, and when I finish them to be served the main.

The pizza was very good, certainly not cheap for a pizza however once in a while it's worth it. I did think £3.50 for a bottle of sparkling water was a touch excessive though.

We visited our local Pizza Express in Hull city centre, yesterday (10/02/24). We had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was super busy (which you expect on a Saturday) so service were slightly slow but we expected this. We was served by Shayan and he was lovely, and his customer service was incredible and he is a credit to that restaurant. Our food was piping hot, and totally delicious. Shayan was super attentive and apologised for delays, and was friendly and had a happy face. We had a lovely experience, thank you ☺️

3 out of the 4 of us had pizza & tbf all said they were excellent, however the grand pollo Milanese was poor at best. Salad was simply a handful of rocket leaves with 3/4 bits of sun dried tomato in the mix. No seasoning/dressing/flavour or gran Milano cheese. Staff were a little hot & cold. We made our points & all was handled ok. Not in any rush to go back to back to the brand

Had the lasagne and polenta fries which was absolutely gorgeous whilst got my drink dough ball and soft drink free by using the reward on the app. honestly totally recommend using the app. Staff was always quick to get whats was needed and ensure that I was truly satisfied with my time there. Chill environment with pretty view out into the city center. Would recommend for everyone.

Let’s start by saying we like Pizza Express. The pizzas are usual great and the choice of a thin Romano base is great. Most of the family are vegetarian so choose the vegan Giardiniera but ask for ordinary cheese. I had a vegetarian calzone and our other member an American hot. We had dough balls and olives as a starter. All perfectly fine. It was busy. Desserts. My wife’s warm brownie, just wasn’t. She should have asked it to be warmed as stated on the menu but didn’t. Mainly because the whole place was freezing. So many people were sat with coats on and we wanted to go home. We’d certainly go again because the food is good but wear something warm.

It's soooo cold in this place.. really slow service, friendly, but slow. They are understaffed and the 'manager' (you can spot her as she's the one wearing something different so you know she's the manager) is very busy 'managing' in the back office to help out. Get some staff. Get some heating (or put a lid on the entrance hole). Give the manger some training on what managing is.

It’s just reminded me why I don’t come to such places. Food arrived cold, salad was rocket and spinach. Staff unhelpful and didn’t seem to care. No toilet facilities in the place as closed off. The shopping centres toilets were closed and we were told to go to Nandos. Big fat waste of time. Disappointing experience avoid and go to a decent pub instead!

The food was average at best, the pizza was slightly burn. My main complaint is the Just Eat delivery person - I am hoping that the restaurant see this and communicate to JustEat about the issues. The food arrived stone cold, why? because the cyclist blatantly was doing other deliveries also, he was stopped outside another takeaway for at least 5 minutes.

This branch of Pizza Express has a feel of a school canteen. Chairs aren’t overly comfortable. The food is as expected from this chain, though our polenta chips were very soggy and not crispy at all; pizza (Romana Padana) was nice though. Without the deals on the app, it would be very overpriced (£16 for a pizza is a rip off).
