Pizza Express in Crawley

Monday evening 16th September, we were staying overnight in Crawley, so we booked a table for dinner here. We turned up at the appointed time, there was no need to have made a reservation, we had the choice of seats, the restaurant was virtually empty. However it was extremely busy with deliveries and take aways. We selected where to sit, we were guided to the table and given the new style menus, which included new pizzas. We had previously checked the App and there was an offer " buy one Romana pizza and get one for £2.95". We ordered one of the new pizzas, Romana Bruno, with toppings of blue cheese, red onion chutney, tomato, mozzarella and topped with Parma ham, Milano cheese and rocket. The other pizza ordered was an old classic Romana American hot with a selection of hit peppers. We also ordered a couple of large bottles of Peroni. When served our pizzas were generously topped and well tasty. The Bruno was delicious but a bit rich, needed to be eaten at a leisurely place. As we had checked in on the App we were able to pay and leave a tip through it. Overall and enjoyable meal served by friendly attentive staff.

Update (19/8/2024): The history repeated itself. We (myself and my wife) decided to celebrate an occasion at the Pizza Express Crawley. We had ordered Dough balls and just 1 Romana base Pollo Ad Astra. We waited for almost an hour but the pizza never arrived. Annoyingly we had to request the waiter again and with quite reluctance we were told that it would be ready in another 5 minutes. Another 10 minutes had passed with no response. Finally when we started to leave, the waiter just signed from the far end of the kitchen that he will be bringing the pizza. Another couple who had arrived at least 15 minutes later and seated next to our table got their order of 2 pizzas quite fast. This was so annoying to watch this utter racist behaviour from the staff. We requested to talk to the manager and when she arrived, she quite reluctantly apologised with little care about how our day was completely ruined because of this experience. This is happening for the second time at this specific store. Not sure if Pizza Express is a racist chain across the whole of UK but we would never recommend it to anyone we know and I will specifically make it a priority to remove the option from my employer recommended choice for business parties. Hope this matter is taken seriously if the administration team really wants to succeed in this competitive market. Thank you! (2022): Had to wait a long time (~30 minutes) to get our food while the place wasn’t even fully crowded. At least the food wasn’t too far off the standards compared to their other branches for which it gets the 1* We got soiled/used plates with pizza and even had to ask for the pizza cutter (I think it’s common sense to provide one with a large pizza). It was a lot better a couple of years ago but maybe the pandemic and current economic conditions have really hit them hard. Sorry to say but I cannot recommend this specific store to anyone and will probably not be visiting here myself even though I live in the area. Food: 3/5 | Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 2/5

The worst food around. 2 deliveries in a matter of months both stone cold and was told no refunds as I accepted the food and didn't send back with driver. Are customers expected to open and check all items on the driveway before accepting delivery? The worst food around and even worse service. We will never use pizza express again. Not even 1 star!!! My dogs eat better food than this.

We love Pizza Express and the food was delicious as always. Service was friendly but very slow considering we were there at lunchtime and there were only a few other tables occupied. Main complaint though was that the restaurant was SO cold. Nearly every customer was still wearing a coat while eating!

Thursday evening the 11th January and we visited this pizza restaurant for dinner, we did not have a reservation. We were greeted as we entered and shown to our table and given the menus. We could have sat at almost at any table as the pizzeria was virtually empty. We ordered an American Hot, Romana style with mixed peppers £16.25 and a Florentina,  also Romana style £15.60. The prices shown were as per the menu. We also ordered two large bottles of Peroni beer 660mls, which were £7.25 each, a bit pricey. The well topped, freshly prepared pizzas were served to our table along with an individual pizza cutter. We tucked into the pizzas which were delicious and it did not take long to clear our plates. It was time to pay the bill, which we did through the App, at this point we claimed our VIP reward which was 50% off each pizza. This was a total saving of £15.93 and the final bill was £30 42. The pizzas worked out at just under £8. We were also able to include a tip in our payment. This is a large glass fronted restaurant, which gives us the feeling that we were sitting in a glass bowl, this was enhanced due to the lack of customers. Well good pizzas with friendly efficient service. The discount on the pizzas made it a reasonably priced experience, had there been no discount it would have been expensive.

Disappointing! Turned up at 5pm 17.12.23 for 3 to eat. One other small table eating and we were told they are not taking walk-in customers as they are short staffed! They then went in to say they had a larger booking in 30 mins so couldn’t cater for us. Shocked at such poor customer service, absolutely ridiculous.

We went for a family meal to celebrate a birthday, our orders were taken by a very friendly , welcoming lady. Drinks were delivered OK, starters were delivered OK, then we were advised that for two of the meals - nicoise salads - no eggs were available, we were not offered an alternative meal, but asked to choose an extra ingredient. I did, but then, the mains arrived, seemed utterly inappropriate to me that I could be told the "restaurant" had no eggs, when a complete fiorentina arrined only minutes later. Regrettably only 6 of the 7 mains arrived. When we inquired as to the location of the 7th we were told it would be 3 minutes, which appeared to be code for more than ten. The whole process was to be repeated when 4 of 6 desserts arrived and we all sat waiting ten minutes for the remaining two. People go out to dine together to dine together, and usually not in establishments where an egg cannot be sourced and boiled when it is one of the the main ingredients of a dish which, incidentally is missing the green beans, even on the menu. As an aside, I would recommend that no matter how delighted the staff are with their hair extensions, they should try to refrain from flicking them about in the faces of their customers as they deliver the food. This is not a restaurant environment, MacDo provides a similar experience more competitively priced.

Family of eleven celebrating my birthday. Food bland and took time to arrive considering there were only a few others in the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Plenty of Staff but to busy with deliveroo orders to even smile at us. Used to love the place but can get better pizzas in the supermarket. Spent a decent amount of money for below par service and food. Pub grub is better these days. The poor Manager was doing all the work. Goats cheese pizza on a thin base which was like a wrap, one of the pizza's was raw underneath. Bring back the original recipes. Cold atmosphere.

We had a pizza making party today for 26 children aged mainly 6 and 7., the youngest was 3 and the oldest 14. The staff did an amazing job keeping all the children entertained. Would highly recommend this for children of all ages. Thank you to all the staff for making this a special birthday.

We had a birthday party today for our daughter and I wanted to say thank you, as the kids had a great time and they were so accommodating. They really enjoyed making their own pizzas. Thanks again

When our pizzas came, they were small, and one of my friend’s pizzas was big. This is unacceptable. Also, they didn’t have any ketchup. Overall, good experience with pizza express and will definitely come back. The staff were flirting with each other instead of serving us and they didn’t come and ask us if our meal was ok, so we had to wave at them a lot just to ask for tap water. Also, I’m not one to complain but the toilets were not up to satisfaction. They were messy and smelly.

Pizza was good but the hard surfaces made the place very noisy even though not many patrons were there when we were.

Monday evening 4th September and we booked a table for here via the App. We arrived at the appointed time, we were meet by a young guy who told us we could sit where we wanted as the place was not busy. With not many people here there was not much atmosphere, the few that were looked very lost in the vast space. There was a special offer, a Classic pizza for £7.95 upgrading to Romana for an extra £1.95. We ordered a classic American Hot and a Fiorentina and two 660mls bottles of Peroni, £7.10 each. When served the pizzas did look smaller than they used to be. The American Hot was tasty while the Fiorentina, the egg was slightly overcooked, a bit hard and the spinach appeared to be like lumps of frozen spinach put on before cooking. It was all a bit impersonal, making the booking by the App and paying the bill there too, not a great deal of staff interaction.

We were staying the area and met up with family here for some lunch. The place was quiet when we arrived and only a couple more tables were taken during our visit. We ordered food which I had the 'sloppy giuseppe' which was really nice, we also had dough balls which were good and garlic bread with mozzarella which was good also. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. The place seemed clean. The place could do with some renovation as it was a bit worn in places with chipped tiles etc. If you are in the area this place is worth coming to to get something to eat and drink

Havnt been into a this pizza express in many years, but I do eat out with my young family in similar establishments, however there is one particular supervisor “MARGIE” she is amazing. I have 5 children under 10. She was welcoming, kind, friendly, observant, on the ball, in charge, helpful, and she went completely above and beyond to help me. As a breast feeding mother I often feel unwanted in public to look after my baby’s needs but Margie made me feel safe, hugged, looked after, welcome. She is a credit to pizza express and deserves a significant appreciation for the way she handles herself and the restaurant. As a mum it’s sometimes hard to just have a meal and she made this happen she was great! well done Margie and thank you ! I hope one day I can pay your kindness forward for someone else. Xx

I am really disappointed. I ordered a Calzone and polenta chips. The pizza and some of the chips was burnt, but not ready inside...I will never order again. I don't even understand how they can send out the food for delivery...?

Friday evening 23rd September and we had a reservation here. We turned up at the appointed time and were shown to our tables and given the menus. Prior to our visit we had downloaded the Pizza Express App. to see if any offers were available. We ordered two pizzas an American Hot classic style, with a variety of peppers £11.95 and a Fiorentina classic style £11.95. We also ordered two large bottles of Peroni beer. £6.95 each We could see our order on the App. and the discounts that were applied which amounted £10.00, rather a good saving. We were even able to pay our bill via the App which was £27.80. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the pizzas were really tasty. So overall a most enjoyable visit.

The waitress was amazing that's about it. The rest of the experience was a disaster. We had a special request for our daughters which every other Pizza Express has been able accommodate without any problems or issues. Crawley obviously can't and we were not the only table with issues over our Pizza's . A table of 4 sent back there's slso. Bare in mind we had to wait for an hour to get them in the first place after asking twice how long would we have to wait. The duty manager came over to tell us they had run out of dough at 7.45pm at night so we would either have to have the pizza we had or have a further wait for food for the girls. The waitress was amazing in the fact she actually cared about our needs and was upset that her instructions had been ignored by the kitchen and the manager. Lets hope that our next visit to a Pizza Express will not be a disaster like this one was.

I ordered this evening via deliveroo from Pizza express Crawley, I oredere pollo pesto, but no pesto on it, it sure what happened but pesto was missing, this is soo disappointing, if the restaurant run out of pesto why I haven't been informed. I wroled in pizza express so I know how a pollo pesto has to look like, this was a cheese pasta. Extremely disappointed, not sure what happened but definitely the restaurant is going down. Please see the picture below, if you see any pesto do. Let me know.

So awful!! pizza’s are cold and no cheese on them babycino were stone cold staff are pleasant but toilets and restaurant dirty wouldn’t go again worst pizza express I’ve ever been to.

We've eaten out a few times since restaurants reopened after lockdown and this is the only place where we've not felt safe. Waiters leaning over customers to take orders and deliver food. Evne though they have plenty of space. In another Pizza Express we visited, all food was put on a spare table next to us and we passed meals down. My husband asked for black pepper and the waitress said she had to put it on for him so leant over him again. At one point one of the chefs came out into the main restaurant and hugged one of the waiters. Just no clue about social distancing and definitely not a safe place to eat at the moment. Shame because the food is delicious as always.

You can always find deals online in here but even if you don’t it’s nicely priced for the quality of food and service you are provided. Would highly recommend the pollo pesto pasta.

Went today. everything from the restaurant to the toilets weren't clean. Food was very poor. No go 100%

I love pizza express normally but this particular branch really reduced my impression of the chain. It's a big restaurant but it feels poorly managed and now with the pandemic, we really didn't feel it was well managed from a safety perspective, to the point we regretted going. We arrived 7 mins after our booking time and were asked to wait until 20 past to get seated because the previous sitting was still there, and when we arrived at our table, it was sticky (so clearly not cleaned properly). I liked my pizza (and it was a v generous size) but my partner did not like his at all- he said it was really low / budgeted on cheese! However, my main concern was the safety. To go to the toilet, you had to open and close so many doors, which everyone is using. One of the soap dispensers in the toilet didnt have any soap and I did not see hand sanitizer anywhere inside/around the store (i think it was just at the entrance). I didnt feel there was a clear one way system and overall it just didn't feel fit to open given the pandemic. The waitor who served us was a bit cold but the waitress was trying very hard and was friendly. Overall, def not returning again, unfortunately.

We have always liked pizza express. And have been to restaurants all around the country and have usually had great service. However, this restaurant in Crawley is the exceptional to the rule. From the moment we walked in the waiter looked at us as though we had brought in rats. We had our baby and toddler with us and the waiter just looked as though he didn't want us there. Then after a wait on the menus, he eventually came over to take our order. All restaurants follow a service model of at least offering drinks first. Oh no not this waiter. We had to stop him from leaving after just taking our starters to actually take our drinks order. Whilst we were eating the table behind us left who also unfortunately brought their children with them. And we heard the waiter just tut and moan that the kids had left mess on the floor. Overall he and the manager made it abundantly clear that they didn't want to serve any customer who had children with them. With service like this and a building failing into disrepair I can understand why the company is in trouble. We can safely say that this will be the last time that we use Pizza Express.

Met friends for lunch here just before Christmas. Most places are buzzing before Christmas, not this place, there must have been 10 diners in total in the whole place. It just didn't feel inviting. It was cold, there was no seasonal atmosphere. The windows are floor to ceiling and everyone walking past glares in at you. Service was ok up to dessert, where after 20 minutes we has to go and find the single waitress to ask for the dessert menu. The pizza was sort of ok, that was about it.

Refuse to serve the food at 22.30pm even if the place closes at 23.00pm. With the comment that the waiter was not feeling well. This shouldn’t be a reason to refuse serving even if we wanted just a salad.

I always go to pizza express for how nice the staff are usually and the amazing mouth watering pizza I usually go here with my family and we usually all order pizza (I order The American) so that’s why I love pizza express.

Food was very good, the drinks were good. The service was good, as always. But as you sit and look around the restaurant you notice it need some TLC. Ceiling, areas around the lights were dirty, the air vents were dusty, the stair well up to the toilet looks old and tatty. It seems who ever manages the premises has lost interest in making the place look appealing. It used to be tidier! I’ll still be back.

Clean place and don't mind going there and getting my 02 £5 meal deal. Had pasta was nice. Friendly staff.

We were a group of 13 and it took us 40 minutes from arrival to get our drinks. They added a service charge to our bill of 12.5% despite our poor service. My pizza wasn’t very tasty and definitely lacking in pepperoni and cheese!

I've been to many Pizza Expresses but this is the best !! I can't eat a pizza anywhere else as the one I order here is perfect

Rung up on a Saturday at 4pm asking for a table of 26 at 630pm and wasnt a problem. We were put upstairs with our very own waiter. So good to have the room upstairs and our waiter was amazing. So funny and nothing was too much trouble. I think all the bad reviews this place has are just people being unlucky or picky. Everytime I have been here it's been amazing.

I am a frequent visitor to Pizza Express. You pretty much know what you’re getting across the chain. However, my experience of this god awful excuse of a restaurant is one I don’t ever wish to repeat. On arrival we was pointed to a table and left for over 10 minutes whilst the waitress dealt with another angry diner who she’d forgotten to get his order. Finally our order was taken, or rather the handset was given to us to press our own selections!Our garlic dough balls were served in no more than 90 seconds (no exaggeration here) and were like warm at best. Following this, we sat listening to one of the chefs taking the mickey out of our order for asking to have no egg on the carbonara pizza with the waitress, clearly not realising we was sat in earshot. The carbonara pizza (I’ve had in several other restaurants) was again luke warm and sloppy. I think the chef had spilt the pot of white sauce over the top! We asked for the bill twice before requesting the table number so we could pay on the app and run!Never again!

My son ordered pizza delivery this evening. Arrived cold and without a doubt the worst pizza we have ever eaten. It was like a flat bread with tomatoes and raw mushrooms on top. What an absolute disgrace and a complete liberty for what they charge! I'm totally disgusted....never again! Rip off at its finest!

Went here for an early Valentine's meal. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Our waitress was extremely friendly. Mentioned we had a taste card and received 2 for 1 on all food. Great offer. Would visit again.

Sunday evening 6th January and we visited this restaurant for dinner, it has been rather a long time since we were here last, so looking forward to a good pizza.

We’ve just returned from an excellent meal at this restaurant..... The food was extremely appetising & served swiftly. Margie was first class in respect of the service she provided with a beaming smile & a great attitude.... she is a tremendous asset & is a primary reason for people to visit.

We have always had excellent service at other pizza expresses. However, the service we received at Crawley was awful - the waiter was rude and made us feel awkward and unwelcome. The food was good, but let down by service.

This weekend I ordered a Pollo Ad Astra take away pizza. A few hours later I began a night of vomiting and other nasties. I only ate this pizza and a twirl chocolate bar all that afternoon. It is possible that I somehow caught the bug from someone else so I dont want to accuse P Express. At this stage, interested to know if anyone else was ill this weekend after being there?

Never one to disappoint, the calamari, dough balls and pizza combo is always a winner for us when visiting. The Crawley restaurant service is also better generally compared to other Pizza Express restaurants.

I like Pizza Express and I particularly like Pizza Express in Crawley. Whether I stop by to eat in or use the takeaway service the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is always good and the prices aee good especially as there are usually vouchers on their website or we use a taste card. Two three course meals with drinks came to less than £40 so great value.

We came here for dinner the night before we flew from Gatwick as it’s very close. I love pizza express so I knew what I would be having.

Tried this restaurant during a recent visit to Crawley and were quite impressed. We’d booked as it was a Saturday night but could have just walked in and the restaurant is very spacious and clean. The food was delicious and the pizza topping were plentiful and the bases were very thin. A very nice meal with very friendly staff.

Been here a few times and the service and the food is always reliable and to a high standard. It’s never busy for lunch so the service is noramally really quick

Enjoyed a freshly made delicious pizza in very clean and comfortable surroundings. Served quickly by a very friendly lady who did everything perfectly. Will definitely be back!

Came here with my partner for my birthday meal. We waited a while for our drinks as the waitress dropped them on the floor on the way over. My partners starter was cold. For main he had some chicken salad....he is a chef himself and his chicken had raw patches. Which was disgusting. Service was rubbish and had to constantly try and get attention of waitress. Took 25 mins to get attention of someone to get the bill. Wasn’t asked how meals were at all. Not happy and don’t beleive it was worth the money. Will not return

I'm not a fan of italian chains but this is ok. There's a lack of anywhere decent at all to eat in the Crawley town centre so due to lack of choice this was agreed upon. The place is clean, the service good and the food wasn't bad. I had a pizza which was a litte tasteless, but we were left alone to enjoy our evening. Overall good if your more interested in sharing a glass of wine with friends and not really focused on the food.

You can't go wrong with Pizza express! The choice, and what you get is pretty much the same nationwide it's become a household name for dining out.

Staff so friendly and accomodating for me and my friend and her 6 week old baby!! Food was nice but pretty average, wasnt worth raving about staff make this place! So thankyou

Pizza express was amazing today they have the most friendless-staff there. Very helpful and happy. Food was amazing really tasty!! Place was clean and great atmosphere. Really nice time and place to eat for families or couples.

Quick , efficient and good food as always, a consistent Pizza Express. I had Polla ad Astra and unlike some P.E restaurants the chicken was spicy and onions sweet, full of flavour.

It took a while for us to get sat at a table, but we did not complain. At that stage we assumed that the food must be relatively good for it to busy. However, we were terribly disappointed when the pizza arrived. It looked greasy and there weren't many ingredients on it either. It's a shame. Won't be coming here in a while, for sure.

Great food as usual from Pizza Express. The thing that made the night special was being served by the wonderful Katie, who was fabulous!

Visited today fast service however the food was poor. Pizza burnt and hard to cut unlike the pizza I have eaten in Horsham pizza express. After 4 wrong bills and the waitress arguing with us we ended up paying which was still incorrect as we wanted to get away. Would highly recommend horsham, however I would not go here. Awful !!

What a difference a couple of weeks makes, we had a cracking meal in haywards Heath a couple of weeks ago and an interesting one in Crawley !

Visited here with the kids lunchtime on Valentine’s Day. Greeting staff very pleasant but made us wait 20 mins for a table as “very busy” but we could see that there were at least 10 empty tables.

Was given a menu and nobody came to take my order so I left. Pretty poor for a Tuesday night in January

Visited here last week and had a really poor experience compared to other Pizza Express’ I’ve visited. The food was fine, it’s always consistent across the group, but what let it down was the service. All of the waiting staff seemed bored and the service was purely transactional, there was no interest, warmth or anything from anyone. Waiters wandering around spinning trays, clearly bored. When we left we walked past four members of staff, including the manager, none of them were doing anything but not one said thank you or goodnight. These are basics of customer service and they failed. Won’t go back to this one.

Went there with my wife after the cinema on Friday evening. Didn't have any trouble getting a table although the restaurant was very busy, unlike other places where people were waiting outside. Had a starter, a Romano pizza and desert. We we served by Beata, a very nice young Polish girl who had been there only one week. She always had a nice smile and was very pleasant. Left her a good tip... she really deserved it. The restaurant was a bit noisy especially since there was a birthday party going on at one table but Beata made it ok. Will go again to Pizza Express but will chose another evening.

Food was fine and service good although they did say they were stretched as it was so busy. The noise level was so high we were moved twice as we just couldn't hear each other. Is this noise level safe?

I am a fairly regular visitor to the Pizza Express chain, the food is always good quality and you can usually find some kind of offer or discount. This time husband and I both had garlic bread and cheese followed by pizzas and we shared a side salad. When we arrived I wasn't impressed that we were ushered to a table in the dark when there were loads of vacant tables by the window. This was sorted and after that service was too notch. Always tasty.

If you want to commit suicide , either choose a tree and a rope , or get their pizza in your stomach !!!!

Little disappointed with our meal tonight! Regular visitors to pizza express mostly in Stamford! The welcome and service was great but the food was a bit below par! I always have buffalo mozzarella pizza with Italian ham which normally is big chunks of good mozzarella but today it was obviously not. My wife had chicken Caesar salad with the dressing being salad cream I did mention it to the waiter who was very efficient but I know what Caesar dressing is and I know what salad cream is! There were also no pizza cutters and not even that busy! Lucky I don't have to visit it regularly

My Wife and I came back to this restaurant on Friday 21st July and booked a table for 7.15 after not being too impressed on the last visit. The service received from the waiter and the food served was excellent.Credit to the guy for his excellent pleasant and friendly manner it what must be a hard job in such a busy environment,Sadly i did not get his name. Oh yes the food was good to!

Love the Calabrese pizza here. Visit quite regularly and have always been impressed with the service and quality of the food. My one and only gripe is that some of the seats are very uncomfortable! Would definitely recommend.

Nice staff and food - awful big noisy echoey space for a restaurant, even when practically empty midweek...

First of all - to be clear this is not a gripe with the Crawley branch of Pizza Express - for the service was good. It is a moan about the Pizza Express menu. Time was when you could get a pizza at this chain that was well made and offered a variety of good quality toppings including vegetables and meats such as chicken and ham. Gradually, however, the pizzas I enjoyed (Jardinera, Il Padrino etc) have disappeared and the whole focus of the menu is on hot and spicy - I ordered a Pianta pizza (no cheese, salad leaves - but inevitable chili flakes) on the basis that there was not much chili on it (the current menu reminds me of the Monty Python "spam" sketch) - my wife ordered a chicken salad - but that also had something spicy in it! So if you do not want or like spicy food - don't go to Pizza Express!! Desserts as always are unimaginative.

Always excellent food and most definitely the best service at any Pizza Express I have ever had.The waitresses are very friendly and attentive and always look after you.

I usually have a Pizza Express once a month & It's normally pretty decent. On this occasion we got unlucky I guess!. Raw not cooked through Pizza base, & My Sloppy giuseppe looked very sparse with the toppings.

We came and had an evening meal as a family of 4 and had a great experience.The food was really good and the level of service was outstanding. Special thank you to Victoria.

We have been a regular at Pizza express but first time at Crawley. Not sure we will return. Food was just OK. not the best service. Took very long for the main to arrive. we had to ask the waiters few times cos our children were getting a bit inpatient....kids never got their dessert which was part of the meal..

Good food. Staff were very attentive and provided good service. Good location and a very spacious restaurant.

Went with family. The service was good. Food is what you would expect from a pizza express. The room was very bright and airy. If it's a pizza you want them this is OK.

Sunday evening 26th of March, we were staying down the road in the Travelodge and we decided to have dinner here. Always enjoy pizzas at Pizza Express, been here before and enjoyed it also we had a voucher "buy one get one free" which was valid on Sundays.Just to make sure we asked our waiter if our voucher was valid for this visit, he said he would check with the manager, we were subsequently informed it was not valid as it was Mothering Sunday and the till would not accept the code. We did challenge this with our waiter, who was really being helpful, he took the voucher away and returned after a while and confirmed the voucher was acceptable.Had intended to order Romana American Hot, until saw one being served up to someone at another table, it was huge, so decided on classic Sloppy Giuseppe and a Fiorentina.We ordered 2 large bottles of beer, they were over £7 each, well expensive. Our pizzas were served and they were very good and soon devoured.The restaurant itself did look a bit jaded but looked as if it was being made ready for refurbishment, pictures had been removed from the walls.Really good pizzas, helpful and friendly waiter, however expensive beers.

Even though there were only 2 tables when we walked in, no one greeted us or despite our awkward fumble by the door gave us a gesture to say they'd be with us. We eventually walked through and found someone to give us a table. Even though we were a table of 3 adults 3 kids we were given 4 adult menus and then the waitress was never to be seen again.. as everyone seemed to be avoiding eye contact, to get children's menus and order drinks we had to leave our table and again find someone. (We managed to find some kids colours on a uncleared table next to us). However whether our early neglect got noticed I'm unsure but we saw some new faces who begun to serve us. From here on in everything was lovely. Food, service, drink, and the kids had a great time. Seemed very short staffed for a Saturday when we first arrived being as the team were struggling with the 2 existing tables but I assume 5pm/6pm starters managed to ease the load. The second half of our experience by our new waitresses was wonderful, the first half left much to be desired, maybe we just hit it at an odd time.

Lugar con unas pizzas increíbles, con mucho tomate.El resto de platos también los hacen muy ricos, va a ser mi lugar de referencia cuando vaya por trabajo otra vez a Gatwick :)

Pizza Express in Crawley is one of my favourite eateries. The staff there are so nice and friendly and offer a warm welcome. The food was great and we had a decent bottle of bubbly. Highly recommend

Lunch with granddaughter,the Pollo salad was amazing,very tasty,well presented,service was very good,atmosphere was friendly.most enjoyable.

When you pay Pizza Express prices for average Pizza - you expect decent service - unfortunately not at the Crawley Restaurant. Slow, unfriendly, fairly long wait for food and unacceptable wait for the bill and an even longer wait to pay!

When we arrived a party of youngsters were having a party, preparing their own pizzas (flour absolutely everywhere!), and having a great time. Loud, yes, but absolutely wonderful to behold. The staff were quick to bring colouring pens and books for our little ones, and to serve our drinks and starters. There was then a huge wait while the pizzas for the party were cooked, before our main courses arrived. Service then picked up again, and ice creams came in good time. The staff were friendly, and excellent with all the kids, but it was obvious that they were short-handed for a restaurant of this size.

Tried both the festive pizzas, cauliflower on a pizza sounds wrong to me but was lovely! Staff very friendly and efficient, Manager a top bloke... Looking forward to coming back.

I went to pizza express this evening and had a lovely meal. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the chef (Dale) was brilliant and very cheerful!

Stopped of a pizza express for a bite to eat when staying in Crawley on business,the food was great and I have never had a bad meal here when I have been before,the toppings on the pizza's are top quality and the staff are friendly and attentive.So all in all another great visit and another great review.

Well what can I say, went for a pizza on the spur of the moment, midweek, so wasn't busy..... no wonder really as we ordered pizza.....to be told no pizza bases! What a joke in a pizza restaurant! Bye bye!

Great service from Luke, James & Dale. Great party and the party room is fantastic for family events. Friendly and easy going.

Stop off here for a bite to eat, fast service with a smile, good choice of food. Clean restaurant. only downside is I think it is not very disability friendly, in the sense of washroom facilities, did not notice a lift or ramp inside to the toilets. Wi will go back there again
