my delivery time kept getting pushed back which wasn't initially the issue however when the app eventually told me that the driver was outside he sat in his car for 15 minutes before coming to the house, the food as a result arrived stone cold and not very edible

Got a table even tho we hadn't booked on a Friday night, got seated quickly, asked for our orders quickly, drinks arrived quick, but the wait for a simple starter and a pizza and pasta was excessive, 45mins from order to food without any apology or explanation felt a long wait. Food arrived and was good. Got mitherd to use the online app to get 50% off as our server was keen to promote, its an absolute faf, app isn't great, wouldn't let me pay online, got a discount on just the pizza and wouldn't let me have one of the promotional offers because I'd used another. Decent food if ur happy to spend the night sat down, but not the best experience.

Bad experience... (you have to wonder if they like tourists). Slow cooking, minimal quantity even for children! What we ate was not bad but nothing exceptional... after they clear away your plates while the children are still eating, they take back your drinks that haven't been finished yet and obviously they give you the bill even though you didn't ask for anything and were going to have dessert!

Can't really complain. Good enough food and exactly what you'd expect at a pizza express. I swear the Leggera pizzas are getting smaller though... Pretty busy because of match day but was handled well and no serious delays to service. Very friendly staff and the app made paying 10x easier than normal especially when trying to use clubcard vouchers.

We went here for lunch recently, not knowing it had only just reopened after 5 months of being closed due to a roof issue. We haven't been before although have eaten at many PEs over the years. We were delighted to see that Kasia, who we saw at the PE at the Trafford Centre last month was here; we didn't realise, until chatting with her, that she usually words at Salford Quays. Anyway, her service was great, just as it was there - to me, if you can 'do' good customer service at one place you can do it anywhere. The food was yummy, and generally that has been our PE experience over the years with only a few exceptions. I must say that we do take advantage of the loyalty scheme and that you pretty much know what to expect when you dine at any chain restaurant. So, it's often the service that can make a difference as it did for us and if the food is also good, well that is great too.

I ordered online, the first time food was great and hot, the second time food was good but arrived cold, I ended up microwaving most of it.

Friendly atmosphere, good food, kids menu was great, excellent service from the professional team specially kasia and Eleanore, will strongly recommend and will definitely visit again. Much appreciate all your effort and make our family day out a memorable.

Really pleased to see the restaurant reopened. The refurb is really smart. The staff are always really friendly and welcoming to our family. We ate here in early Feb and the food arrived at our table very quickly and was delicious. The kids loved it too. Thank you.

If I have to be honest I had higher expectations, didn’t not taste great to me, mushrooms were not fresh they were kind of dried mushrooms. It was not cheesy as well might be their thing.

Ordered online . Waiting time 45 mins . Then went 60-75 mins . At 75 mins our order was cancelled . No phone call . Just a message that order could not be fulfilled . Very poor service will not be using again .

Terrible service. Sat eating our food and the whole ceiling collapsed. Couldn’t make it up!! My food had bits of dust and ceiling bits in it, completely inedible.

Felt like grabbing a pizza for my tea. Walked in and was told that we couldn't be served due to a " leakage In the bathroom ". Yet 10 other couples was sat around eating pizza. Won't be coming back to this franchise.

Food was better than average but not something you'd talk about afterwards Customer service was awful A group that came in after us were served before us When I challenged the manager he got caught up in a loop of "it'll be a minute, why are you shouting at me?" Even after I apologised for shouting at him he still reverted to his loop Our server ignored us for the hour we waited for our pizza then came over 15 minutes after we were served to ask if we'd finished when my wife clearly had 2 slices left on her plate Suffice to say, we will not be coming back 😆

Can i Just say thank you to our server Maria for making our experience at this restaurant excellent, she was courteous, and friendly, we had a member of our party dressed like one of your servers in a stripy top and she and a male colleague stopped to take photographs and join in the fun we had. I would recommend your restaurant to my nearest and dearest if they were to go to Salford, Media City.

Cancelled our delivery order without explanation after we'd waited an hour for it. Wouldn't have been too bad if they simply didn't accept the order, or cancelled it shortly after. But no, just a 1-line text saying order cancelled. Poor service.

Avoid! very rude and incompetent staff especially Gaberiella I mentioned to her the service is bad as in ‘slow’ as it had taken 15 minutes to come to our table to get an order. Gaberiella had interpreted my comment as I had said ‘she is bad!’ She was so rude shouted at me in front of my kids and refused to serve me. My kids were shocked as they had not seen such a rude waitress. I Spoke to manager said she’ll come and take my order as Gaberiella clearly couldn’t handle the busy service, the manager sent her colleague. To top it off after waiting 50 minutes for food the pizza base was raw and my daughter’s pasta was overcooked. What a terrible experience wouldn’t come back here again!

The restaurant was jot busy and I was eating alone. 3 other table that came in after me got served before me, I do understand that this can happen (I have worked in the industry) but yo have to wait over 15 minutes and chase them for the bill suggests a bigger problem. Shame as the food was good but ruined my evening through poor service

This is shockingly bad calzone. Absolutely TINY! Looks nothing like the photo plus a ridiculously tiny amount of filling. I ordered this because i have eaten this in the restaurant so knew what to wxpect: but this?!? It is awful!!! JUST EAT: i expect a call back to discuss this. I have taken photos of the calzone. Absolutely awful!

We came last night and were warmly welcomed by harry and served by alina. the service was amazing and we were treated so well by the both of them. the food was amazing as always. can never fault it. amazing work guys 💪🏼🤍

Ate at this restaurant today. Very nice employees, good food but it was too good to be true. Upon arrival at the hotel, we look at the receipt and see that almost £30 in service charges have been charged, even though we have already given a tip. Too bad they scam you right in front of you.

Toppings are quite scarce, the amount of cheese is minimal -even if you ask for the double american pepperoni, which is supposed to bring double the amount of cheese, the amount of cheese is never enough. I reckon they rely on clients who never return, otherwise this is not good enough.

Ordered a gluten free pizza and gluten free dough balls on Just Eat . Got told that it was going to be delivered between 21:40-22:00! After phoning the restaurant 6 times to not be answered I ended up cancelling my order!

We just wanted a bite to eat before going to The Lowry for the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Great service, delicious food and complimentary starter to share using the app! I can recommend the Elderflower and Mint G&T and Lime & Basil sorbet both so refreshing and a taste of Spring.

Pizza was cold when it got here and drink was warm. Garlic bread was fine.

We travelled from Ireland to Manchester for the United V Fulham game Saturday 24th Feb just gone, and before the game called into PizzaXpress for food and had 3 kids meals and 1 Adult meal, Kids meal deals which included a side of doughballs, the waitress took our order and when the food did come the Pizza was barely warm, there were 3 kids deals but only 2 of them got the dough balls, plus non of them got their Bambinoccino and again only 2 of the kids were given desserts, which i will add were Chocolate brownies that were rock hard, Now maybe it was the fact that it was match day or that our accents were not Mancunian but I will not be going back there again..

Thank you for the hospitality and service that I received when I visited your Salford Quays branch last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and Menu The menu is good as it is simple, clear and is easy to read. The headings for each section like “Appetisers” etc means that you are less likely to read the wrong part of the menu. It is also good in that the food is on the front page and the drinks are on the back so you cannot go wrong. The variety of food on offer is great as it caters for Meat, Chicken, and Vegetarian lovers. You are spoilt for choice for the various Pizza options however the Pasta options available are limited which means that you are more likely to go for a Pizza. As a result having a more selective range of Pasta dishes would entice more people. Starters include Garlic Bread with Mozzarella, Calamari, Doughballs, Bruschetta, Prawns and more. Mains include a brilliant selection of Pizzas with different toppings. There are also some Pasta and Salad dishes too. Sides include Salad, Halloumi Bites, Palenta Chips, Coleslaw and more. The Dessert menu is separate and caters for both Chocolate lovers such as the Chocolate Fondant, Chocolate Fudge Cake, or Chocolate Brownie. If you are a lover of fruit based puddings then there is the White Chocolate and Lemon slice too. If you fancy a cold Dessert then there is a selection of Ice Cream. The Garlic Bread with Mozzarella was very tasty. It was soft and moist on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. I loved how the Calamari was presented like a tower where each one was stacked neatly on top of each other. The breaded coating was moorish and the aioli dip added flavour. The Chicken Strips were delicious. It had a crispy deep fried breaded coating on the outside and the Chicken was tender and juicy. The Florentina Vegetarian Pizza was a palette pleaser. It had lots of flavour with Spinach, Olive, Cheese, and Tomato that was tantalising in the mouth. In addition it had a runny Egg in the middle too. It was on a lovely Romana base where the edges had a bit of a bite but it was soft and scrumptious inside. The Polenta Chips were a great addition to the Main as they were crisp on the outside with soft fluffy Potato on the inside yum. The Mustard dip added flavour. The Halloumi Bites were a delight to eat. They added flavour and texture. The Honeycomb Cheesecake and Vanilla Ice Cream was divine. The Cheesecake had a lovely biscuit base that was soft and flaky. The Honeycomb and Caramel flavour was sweet and indulgent with great nuggets of Honeycomb. The Vanilla Ice Cream was scrumptious which added flavour and texture cutting through the sweet Honeycomb and Caramel. The presentation was exquisite. It was great that the Cheesecake slice was beautifully placed in the middle of the plate with the scoop of the Ice Cream nicely in the corner. It was eye catching and was meant to be eaten. Drinks The Drinks menu was simple and it includes all the popular alcoholic and the soft drinks combined. The Strawberry Lemonade was refreshing, light, sweet and punchy. It complemented well against the flavours of the meal. Service The service was good. The waitress was friendly, attentive and accommodating to my needs. She gave us the time to choose our food and drinks. Her recommendations were good and the food came quite quickly so we did not wait long. All the food was freshly cooked and it was presented to a good standard. Lighting and Access The level of lighting at Pizza Express Salford is fairly decent as a whole but it is stronger in other parts of the restaurant. If you have a visual impairment and you wish to have a meal here then it is ideal and the staff are friendly in which they will have your needs in mind. Access at Pizza Express is good. The restaurant is on one floor and so this means that you are not required to go upstairs or downstairs for your dining experience. If you need the toilets then they are on a different level. Parking Parking is decent here as you can park at the multi storey car park in which visitors use for the Lowry in which it is now known as Quayside Media City UK. If you have a Blue Badge then your ticket can be stamped and you will get 4 hours free. Any hours above the 4 hours allocated will be charged at £1.10 per hour. Pricing Pizza Express is a mid-range restaurant where some dishes are reasonably priced and others are more expensive. There are also regular offers available on the app too. If you love Italian food and in particular Pizza then Pizza Express Salford is the ideal place to dine in for you.

The food was expensive, but frozen. My mate gave the waitress a £5 tip and she didn't even smile. The atmosphere was ok, but the staff stand around talking to each other quite a bit. Overall a really disappointing, expensive night out.

Me and my boyfriend came here yesterday for something to eat. We got seated pretty quick so that wasn’t an issue. The issue was when we wanted to order, after being seated nobody came over to take our order so I had to ask a waitress if we could order. She took our order and that was that. The starter came after awhile and the starter was really nice so can’t fault that however we got our starter before our drinks. I had to ask the manager where our drinks were as they should have been there way before the starter arrived and we had only ordered a bottle of water and a peach lemonade, the manager then got us our drinks straight away. Once the starter plate was cleared we then had a 45 min wait for our main. Bear in mind this was a Sunday evening so can’t imagine how long you’d have to wait on a Saturday night. We ate the pizza pretty quick and I defo don’t think the price is worth what you get. The pizza base is really thin and it’s just not very filling. We then had to catch a train so I asked the same waitress who took our order to get our bill. She said she would but then went and cleared a table and then disappeared to the other side of the restaurant and we didn’t see her again after that, I then had to ask another member of staff for the bill again. She was kind and got our bill straight away. I just think the service was very poor and the woman who took our order (and forgot our drinks) was very rude. I’m not sure whether she was having a bad day or just took a disliking to me and my partner for whatever reason but I started to think that she didn’t forget our drinks and actually did it on purpose when she deliberately didn’t get us our bill either. It wouldn’t have been so bad hadn’t we have been in a rush to catch the 7pm train. The waitress in question was a young female with blonde hair and glasses and she was foreign. So if you go here and she serves you be prepared to not have any drinks and to not get your bill either. She obviously doesn’t enjoy her job and that shows with the way she treats customers but I genuinely don’t think she should be in a customer service role if that’s the way she is going to act. When a customer asks for the bill you’re supposed to get it for them straight away not disappear to the other side of the restaurant, it was clear she had no interest or intention of getting us the bill at all. Pure rudeness.

Last minute booking after a show, had a choice of tables, and was served by a lovely waitress who made time to make sure I had everything I needed, and was very friendly and chatty. Fiorentina, free dough balls for signing up to the app, all spot on.

Visited Pizza Express on Saturday 27th January for a meal before the going to the Lowry. It wasn’t good from the start, with an unacceptable delay in being acknowledged and seated. 15-minute wait before the order was taken, followed by a 45-minute wait for the food to arrive. The food was awful. Chilli King Prawns were undercooked and cold, with no sign of any chilli or any seasoning. Pollo Pesto (The Signature Dish). The pasta was burnt, there was hardly any chicken and no Milano cheese. This was literally 10 minutes boiled Penne pasta, topped with a pesto sauce from a jar. Yes, we waited 45 minutes for this! The waiter spent all his time apologising to us and all the other tables around for the unnecessary delay people were experiencing. The waiter was embarrassed. The Manager was also embarrassed and fortunately refund the whole bill. It is very clear what this restaurant does. They pack as many in as possible, and it’s very much a case of quantity over quality. They accept more bookings than they can reasonably serve in an acceptable timeframe and are therefore peddling mediocre food. The only Express part of this was our desire to leave and never return.

My wife ordered Pizza via Uber app and was advised collection at 18:11. The ETA kept changing until it got to 19:20. So I called Pizza Express and spoke to the Manager. He told me the order was picked up by the driver 15 minutes again and the driver must have decided not to deliver and steal the pizza. He said that he have another pizza made and re-deliver. The pizza arrived and it was cold and the ticket on the bag stated collect at 18:11. The pizza was not a fresh pizza as would not be that cold within a short delivery. More like the pizza was the original one not collected at 18:11 and instead of making a new pizza the sent the original one. Very disappointed with the pizza and explanation from the Manager.
