This is our local restaurant & we love a stroll up the hill to eat here. The staff & food are always EXCELLENT but what lets it down are the ONE-STAR parents who allow their free range children to ruin the experience for other customers. Last night literally EVERY table was flanked with children making headache-level noise. Some children were standing on chairs and in the front window putting their greasy hands on the windows over clean tables that had been set for other diners. Not to mention all the running around. It’s ok though, the useless parents didn’t care & just sat stuffing their faces. High pitch screaming from toddlers that didn’t get their own way seems to be acceptable to parents who then pressurise the staff to pander to their ridiculous requests for gluten free this & that. Maybe pizza express could revoke the ‘children eat free’ offers to deter this selfish, entitled attitude young parents seem to have these days. Or another solution would be to have an area for couples only. Love this restaurant but last night was an absolute nightmare thanks to some of the selfish parents inflicting their badly behaved children on others.

When with a party on a Mystery tour, can't tell you what all the meals were like cos we all had pizza and chocolate pudding with ice cream and all free, 30 of us all together so it wasn't cheep, all we payed for was our drinks. £7:25 a large bottle of larger 650ml.

I went with my disabled friend on 4th Aug around 19:00 hrs and noticed that there were only a few people dining and plenty of space available. However, a white female staff member approached us and rudely claimed that they were fully booked, refusing to let us dine in, even though Pizza Express has no pre-booking policy.

Had a lovely afternoon at your old town restaurant. Food was lovely and your staff were amazing.

The whole restaurant was empty and one lady told me that oh it’s fully booked. So rude staff. I am not going to go there again.

Wonderful time eating here last time! The waitress was lovely, kind and attentive. All staff were very welcoming. Food was also delicious.

Had a lovely meal here on Friday night. Pizzas are always perfect. We were seated downstairs which was good for us as we were a large noisy group of 9. Service from Hope was great.

Visited for the first time, and it was well worth going, service was good, and the waitress was able to offer combinations of went with what. The pizza was big enough for the two of us, and was good value for money, would go back again and try something else next time.

The waitress was delightful and is an asset to Pizza Express. I didn't take her name but she treated my daughter wonderfully.

Came on to leave a review as had a really lovely visit here. Was abit nervous to come after reading reviews but absolutely loved it, attentive staff, great vegetarian and vegan food. 100% recommend!! Parking is a bit tricky but can’t fault the restaurant.

Me and my partner visit regularly and the service is always 5 star. The app is great and we are usually able to each order 3 courses (dough balls, romana pizza and a mini dessert with a coffee) plus a soft drink each for less than £25 total thanks to the amazing gold member perks on the app!

I was shocked at how good it was. Being a chain I didn't have high expectations. They food was good, servers were great and it had a good vibe. Would go back again.

A large group of us went out for a work colleagues 20th birthday. The food was incredible. Can't fault it. The waitress who served us was very rude.. we'd get it if she was bantering with us. But she was just out right rude. And it wasn't even just with us, while we were there she argued with another table of 2 while they were at the till. (That it or was a very loud discussion..) Then it came to paying. No one left a tip. Can't blame us as we thought she'd just ruined the evening. She decided to call us out with a few sarcastic comment for not leaving a tip, she also walked from the front to the rear of the restaurant calling us tight and whatever else.. I have been to pizza express in oldtown so many times and it's been a great evening but tonight she has seriously let the company down.

Had the most amazing evening, perfect food, perfect service. The manager in the shirt, Matt I think, was an absolute delight, nothing was too much for him!

Been going to this pizza express ever since it opened. The quality of the food last night was excellent. Service by AMY of the highest standards. Best Pizza I've ever eaten in the UK. Well done to the Chef and all the staff. Keep it up!

Sorry, it's not my favourite place to eat, only went as it's somewhere that the children do like to eat as all of them seem to like pizza. Children menus were excellent they enjoyed very much.

Came in on Sunday for a hangover/ birthday brunch and we had such a lovely time. Massive thank you to Stephanie who was out server for the afternoon, she was so pleasant and polite and nothing was too much for her, kept our glasses full and the food was unreal, didn’t make us feel rushed or annoying when we asked for anything. She’s an asset to the business and we will definitely be back again!

Food was very good, but the service was quite disappointing. The waitress who served us seemed to dislike serving us for no apparent reason and left us waiting for long periods of time even though she knew we were ready to order.

We went with family that we were visiting in Swindon...we were greeted by Mat who was friendly and attentive, certainly knew how to deliver great customer service,took time to chat and talk about the dishes we were thinking of ordering....food was piping hot .Well done guys for a great experience..

After having a lovely meal. It all went horriblely wrong at payment and we were using tesco club card vouchers that was a Christmas present. We also had the app, and a couple of freebies. The young waitresses proceeded to tell us that we couldn't use them both together, which confused us, so we questioned it and asked to see were it said that on the email and app, as to us the vouchers were just like a gift card and that we wouldn't of ordered the freebies if we weren't going to be able to use the vouchers. She asked if we wanted to see the manager, we said yes please. The manager in question was completely rude and cold towards us. We asked her to show us where it said it, as we were shocked that you couldn't. Which is when she turned around and said, "it doesn't matter where it says it, I'm not doing the both so you gotta make a decision which one are you using." Still confused and bewildered, we decided to go with tescos, so she wrote down the codes and bought back the new receipt. We noticed she had missed one off, so asked her to put it on and as she turned to walk off she very loudly muttered, "struggling over £2, shocking!!." We were extremely taken back by the rudeness of the manager at this point. So when she came back to the table, I said to her about that comment she just made under her breath, and she carried on insulting us, said we'd made her young staff manager feel small and intimidated. We both were shocked and replied, sorry if she felt that way but all we did was question the rule and ask to see where it said that. At which point the manager was rude again and walked off. We are appalled at the way we were treated by the manager, as it has ruined our evening out which was extremely enjoyable up to this point. Made us feel stupid, there was no compassion towards us for the mistake, all we got was just plain rudeness and an extremely unprofessional manager. It's the day after and we are still shocked at the behaviour of this so called manager. All because of a misunderstanding.

Food was ten out of ten. I’ve been to quite a few pizza express and they are never anything special, but this is evening was great (I’ve never been to old town pizza express before). We all loved it a lot, the guy in the shirt was nice and the lady who took care of us the majority of the night was amazing too. The chefs seemed to properly take care with preparation, all of the toppings were very even on every slice with a really crisp base. Staff are lovely. Food is perfect and very tasty. Restaurant is clean, warm and homely. Thankyou to the team, and chefs. Really nice experience. Thanks.

Absolutely useless. Ordered a gluten free pepperoni and a normal Cubana pizza. They gave us the wrong pizzas on the wrong base’s and missed off one of the sides. Stated the driver would have eaten the side so that’s ’not their problem’ and refused to provide correct pizzas & missing side. Took no responsibility for the lack of quality control in regards to pizza’s being on the wrong base or for the driver. Woman I spoke to on the phone was incredibly patronising and kept referring to me as ‘my sweet’ telling me they couldn’t help me ‘tonight’ indicating they could on another night. Rubbish service. No offer of refund or any re order.

Ordered online and the pizza and dough balls are completely raw, basically no cheese on a tiny pizza and just a saucy mess . Both additional sauces forgot. Awful

I was taking my grandchildren to lunch and they suggested this restaurant. We had very nice Calamari and doughballs for starters and they ordered a pizza each. They were happy and ate most of it. I had lasagne and coleslaw. No! Over priced and not nice. Coleslaw was swimming in some horrible dressing and the lasagne had to be eaten with a spoon as there was little substance to it I shan't ever go to a Pizza Express again. Rip off Lunch for 3 £75.

My friend and I went for dinner as part of our new year tradition. The waitress who served us was really helpful, smiley, efficient and caring to our needs. I was surprised that there was only one or two members of staff visible on such a busy day. To my surprise, I also witnessed a manager at some point although he didn’t seem to be doing a lot. The waitresses were running around serving tables, taking orders collecting payments whilst the manager appeared quite carefree. At one point, I noticed one of the waitresses fall over and although the shift manager asked her if she was okay, it concerned me because I knew this was the result of her running around too much and taking on the bulk of the work. I just wish restaurant managers would do their share and some team spirit would have been nice to see. It was nice to have a friendly lady serve our table, she was smiling and genuine, and that always makes a great experience.

The food was ok, service a bit slow and we got no desert offered, after sitting for half hour we decided to make our way to the till to pay and this is where the fun started, we had two £20 gift vouchers to use, one went through but the other did not, checked on the number on the card and confirmed valid balance, but the sever could not get the fill to accept it, she then decided to swear in front of our kids and loose the plot at us for their machines not working, we asked for a manager and was told there was not one so asked the manager to call the next day but no call was received, we will not be using again and have reported the staff member to the head office.

Not great, made the mistake of ordering the Romana Pollo ad Astra. The pizza that arrived had hardly any topping on it with around four small bits of chicken and some red onion for £16.25. This was made even worse by the fact I was sat next to a poster for the same pizza on the window which had enticed me to order it, if only it had looked something like that! When I mentioned this to the waitress she just smiled. Felt ripped off… Swindon outlet much more generous with its toppings.

i am writing this review just to say how lovely Steff was, we came in for lunch after just buying my first car and she made my day even better. service was amazing and the food was great as always but steff was so just so lovely and a great host:)

Had a birthday party for my younger brother here. The host(Bobby) was brilliant with the children and made it very easy and enjoyable. Will definitely be doing this again. Thankyou Bobby for making it so enjoyable for everyone.

Went in and was served by Dan, who was excellent and a pleasure to be served by. Great pizza and service, will definitely be back!!

My wife (pasta) and I (pizza) loved ours, the kids didn't so much. Desserts were all good.

Fantastic night - popped in last minute on Wednesday for a family meal and was really well taken care of by Justyna. Great customer service and really welcoming - we were there with our two kids (3&13) and the staff were fab with them as well which was particularly nice! Food was ace - particularly enjoyed the mushroom & goats cheese starter - I was told the chef's name was Bobby so shout out to him to! All in all great meal and top customer service, we'll 100% be back!

Had a gift card to use so came here for a mid week evening meal. Stephanie was excellent from the time we arrived, very friendly and when it came to the bill helped us sort the voucher etc. Pizzas great as always but it was definitely the service from Stephanie that made the night for us.

Visited with my family after visiting the cinema. I was a little disappointed as the service was a bit chaotic and very slow. Not sure if the waitress had just started at the restaurant or was just not terribly good at her job. The food was ok, standard fare for a chain restaurant. The restaurant itself is quite small and extremely noisy, not the place for a relaxing meal and conversation. Sadly, I don't think I would visit again.

Nice little restaurant in Old town part of Swimdon. Food is cheaper than at the designer outlet branch. Good swift service, I arrived without a boking at 5 and they squeezed me in without issue. Friendly enough staff, food as ever was really good. Gluten free options was main reason for visiting as I know they do an excellent range of food. Not a large restaurant couldn't see any parkingonsite but there is a Good cheap car park a short walk away. Toilets are upstairs. Would definitely go again

I really wouldn’t bother… called to ask why was it so hard to cut the pizza that got delivered to me got told it depends who is working and then asked if I work in customer service?? Well I guess the lady that answered the phone and obviously wasn’t in a good mood will find out about my customer service skills through the complaint. I’d encourage your staff to wind their neck in and do their job properly

Love their pizza, however last time we went there was very busy. Only one poor lady serving all the customers and one person cooking all the food. There was a wait on food, it tasted very good as always, but felt sorry for the staff.

Service was excellent. The food was superb. It was my granddaughters 8th birthday they were given crayons to do the activities on the children's menu, The staff were friendly and attentive and even sang happy birthday to my granddaughter.

He showed the children how to make the pizzas and helped them to do it just right, can't fault him as a host and he kept checking in to see if we needed anything. We had a lovely burnt ends pizza whilst the girls had their pizza and the dough balls with pesto were amazing. Now for the 2 bad points- upon getting home I read the party information again and realised that it said geletto for the pudding, we infact were given Lollys which no one really liked and it also mentioned games would be happening which we didn't get either so I entertained them with some music, had I known this I would have brought a speaker and some other games with me but I thought the host should have done it. Over all I would totally have a party here again as they all loved making the pizzas and being together I would just hope pizza express stick to what they advertise in future.

Lovely place, staff are friendly and helpful and the food was good, it never took to long to come out and tasted good, having the app can make it less expensive as there's often deals that will cut back on price so definitely recommend having that if you plan on visiting more than once.

Calzone was so salty I struggled to eat it. Service was mediocre. Manager surly. Loud music for a lunchtime.

Very welcoming experience compared to chain restaurants, the manager on duty was a really friendly lad named Dan who was brilliant towards my autistic daughter and very patient with her decisions over ordering as sometimes she can get quite stressed when we eat out, very friendly person who I would have manage one of the pubs in a heartbeat if we lived closer to Swindon, lovely food and clean restaurant once again compared to other restaurants to similar stature. Thank you Dan and the staff.

We went to pizza express to celebrate our daughters 4th birthday. The general manager Claire couldn't have done more to make her day special even making sure she had a candle to blow out. As always the food was delicious and was perfectly cooked and timed to perfection so there was no waiting around.

My daughter ordered a vegan pizza for a takeaway. The staff were lovely and friendly and the pizza was so tasty.

Pizza was amazing loved it! Dessert lacked as we had the smaller one with a hot drink, drink was luke warm and the brownie was hard and tiny. Service for dessert was a little slow. 100% recommend the pizza though.

I ate at Pizza Express old town on 15/11/22 and had a wonderful experience. The front of house staff were a real credit to pizza express, especially the blonde lady (who I believe is called Louisa), who was both knowledgable and friendly, making sure our table had the best experience possible. I would definitely eat here again!

I came here on a date with my boyfriend, it was our first date and we were so nervous but the staff made us feel so so welcome. The lad working was so nice and he was so easy to have a nice conversation with! The young lady that served us was so so sweet and explained what thing were if we didn’t understand. I am DEFINITELY coming back here! It’s a little bit expensive but the staff and the quality of the food make it so worth it!

After receiving an awful meal at the Marriott Hotel on our Wedding Anniversary. We decided to order Pizza Express through Deliveroo. Wow. We were SO impressed. Firstly, they had great deals on the deliveroo app. Also, my husband is dairy free and we ordered a hot americano and I called up and asked them to change the cheese to vegan cheese as there was no option on the app. The man on the phone was incredibly helpful and personally made sure the pizza was right and clearly labelled so we knew it was vegan cheese. My husband said it was the best dairy free pizza he’s had in a while. The food was fresh, from ordering to delivery it took 30 minutes. It was fantastic ! Thank you Pizza Express for saving our anniversary meal! 11th November 2022

Location was nice and close to local bars and clubs. The Gentleman serving us, Dan I believe his name is, amazing service and would definitely come back again.

My daughter had a party here on 1/10/22. I cannot recommended this restaurant enough. The party host was fabulous with the children and the food was delicious.

Came here yesterday without a booking as it was a spontaneous outing and I have to say, it was possibly the best service I've ever had. Flavia was beyond amazing. So helpful and nothing was too much. Spoke with Daniel, the manager who was again so so helpful. The staff deserve so much recognition for the hard work that they do. They really are an asset to your restaurant! Will definitely be coming back!

Central location with several car parks nearby. Always lovely food here, was quiet today and the staff were lovely - attentive when required but otherwise left us alone to enjoy our lunch. Would recommend

We came here for our 4 year anniversary (we love pizza) was given excellent service by flavia, she was very kind and friendly. Our pizza arrived so fast and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food

Food and drink was perfect, however when I asked for a menu without calories the male staff (maybe a manager) made a huge deal by announcing to the whole place it was the law and nothing he could do. My entire table was embarrassed and frustrated at his behaviour. However the younger female staff was absolutely lovely and she’s truly a credit to your staff. Sensitive requests should be respected, even if they can’t be carried out

Worst restaurant experience of my entire life. Booked in advance and waited 2 hours for food after every other walk in table got 3 courses. They boxed pizzas up and we took them home after sitting in their premises for 2 hours. Food was cold by the time we got home. Abysmal & miserable - will never go back to pizza express.

Pre-booked but still waited 2 hours for pizzas while all tables who walked in after us had all 3 courses. Had to to take boxed pizzas home to eat cold - threw most of of it away. Ruined Grand-Daughter's birthday. Worst restaurant experience of my entire life.

Small , cramped and a bit noisy premises, but thoroughly enjoyable evening. Excellent pizza, and pasta served by a hardworking and well motivated crew. No surprises here, except a very good and smooth Malbec (Re Argentinian) wine. Just so enjoyable.

We wnt into pizza Express on the spur of the moment , we were seated straight away , starters are great however we ordered a large thin pizza which was very thin , the toppings were very sparce , when you pay 15 pounds for a pizza you expect generous toppings and not thinly spread it was disappointing!!

We have eaten in the restaurant in the past and it's been fine - a bit overpriced but the salads are nice. Had a terrible experience ordering a delivery. On arrival, most of the order was missing - which I could chalk up to the delivery driver forgetting a bag if the food that did arrive wasn't also missing ingredients! Chicken and lettuce on its own is not a Caeser Salad! The manager wasn't very helpful and just said that 'once it's left the restaurant' there is nothing they can do... But that's the problem - most of it didn't leave the restaurant, check your fridge, I'm sure you'll find it still in there! So, after a big shrug and a swift 'nothing we can do' from the restaurant (not even an offer to pick up the missing items ourselves),we are sat here enjoying our £25 chicken and lettuce...
