Pizza Express in Horsham

Rude women said “NO” when asking if a table for 5 was okay . Meanwhile seeing a seat of 8 empty seats on our right . I’d advice not visiting pizza express

A rude women said no after asking for a table wast most of the restaurant was empty she was awfully rude and I was shocked at this. We were so shocked we went to wagamamas and the food was much better much more affordable and I would highly recommend over pizza express.

Not a good experience, we arrived at the restaurant and about half the restaurant was empty, we asked for a table and were told it would be a 45 minute wait, as I said only about half the tables were in use.

I had the loveliest server, he was a blonde boy with glasses around 20, i think i recognise him but he was so attentive and friendly, he wasn’t too pushy or invasive. The best experience i’ve had in their with an employee

Visited Pizza Express in Horsham to celebrate a birthday with friends. The meal was embarrassingly bad and very expensive for what was provided. Low points were: the aubergine Melanzane which had so little sauce and cheese on it that the aubergine pieces turned to leather in the oven, the mixed salad which was old and limp and seemed to be thrown into the dish from a few yards away and what I'd expect to be a standard offering for this brand, margarita pizza was light on tomato sauce and cheese. Shocking.

Firstly, the two stars we have given reflect the overall management of this restaurant not the two very hard working staff members mentioned in this review! As regular customers of pizza express for more than 20 years, our family have come in most weeks until very recently as we have been unhappy with the lack of expertise and customer service shown by the growing number of very young staff. Tonight we experienced some very negative things. The first was our pizzas came out cold, this was put right very quickly by Kristina. In fact, despite there being quite a few staff working and a number of large tables, Kristina and Sherralee were running around doing absolutely everything in the restaurant. We watched as the young staff members sat around doing nothing, ignoring empty tables and giving no customer service, walking past tables that needed clearing, not asking how the food was-pretty oblivious to the very busy restaurant. The blonde manager on duty was also quite frankly useless, stood around doing hardly any work until it came to giving take aways, most of the time not even being the one to welcome people to the restaurant, we watched as she leant against the hosting area chatting ignoring at least two families-one of which walked out! As loyal customers it’s a shame to see this behaviour with certain staff members going above and beyond and others being lazy. Perhaps it is time for the restaurant to training its staff properly and actually employ people who look like they want to work!

Food good and so was service till it came for asking for the bill, had to ask four times in the end. After paying there was no ‘thank you’ or anything from the staff, they were too busy arranging tables for later bookings, if it was for Tesco vouchers then we would t have gone. Even the duty manageress seemed to be taking orders from staff as though she had no idea

Went with my friend, and our kids. The best dough balls and the bolognaise was also delicious. Kids friendly and welcoming families hospitality.

We used to be regulars here and probably ate 3 times a month. After a gap we have returned and we’re so disappointed! It took several minutes for us to be acknowledged by staff when we arrived which wasn’t a good sign. All the staff seem to be very young and very new, and don’t seem to know what they’re doing. They are pleasant enough but don’t seem to be trained to manage the smallest of tasks. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food and when it arrived mine was cold and my son’s was burnt. It’s such shame for a busy, family restaurant that used to have lovely customer service. I’d try a different branch and avoid this one.

We visited on a really rainy day in April during a shopping visit to Horsham. The restaurant was really welcoming and immaculate in presentation. We were served by a really nice chap called James, his attention to detail, customer service, and knowledge of the food on offer was excellent. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. Really well worth a visit. Apologies for late review, I stumbled across my receipt which reminded me to complete my review.

Wow what a wonderful experience. Dean and his amazing team catered for every need required. We were a group of 30 young adults with learning disabilities. The food, quantities and entire experience was superb and of a high standard. We will be back.

Typical lack lustre experience. A very unexciting meal with the family. Bland food, very expensive and formulaic. I would not normally visit this type of establishment but it seems popular with children.

Tasty leggera pizzas. HOWEVER, all went downhill when my friend's chocolate brownie arrived! It was rock solid! And when my friend attempted to cut into it, half of it shot onto the floor!! We asked if it could be softened in any way? No it couldn't. Meanwhile, I was aware the Manager had seen what had happened. Did he come over to offer my friend an alternative dessert? No, he didn't. Did he deduct its cost from the bill? No, he didn't. Did he apologise for the inconvenience at being served an inedible dessert? No, he didn't. Come on Pizza Express!! Your customer service should be better than this.

Been here a number of times and always get a good meal. You know what you are going to get from Pizza Express, good Pizza's and normally good deals! Staff generally helpful and friendly, nice restaurant layout - better than some other locations.

Came here for a catch up with my sister and nephew, the lady who sat us was very grumpy and not very approachable- although we had a lovely waitress serving us.. We come here a lot for food, and we are always remembered, which is always nice. We ordered 2 starters - these were good but not as warm as normal, we then received are mains - we were not overly hungry, so shared a pizza- in which we found a hair melted in the cheese. The First Lady we complained to was rude, didn’t even apologise or offer anything. The original waitress did remove it from our bill and was very apologetic. We will return but maybe not for a while

Before heading off to our local Pizza Express, nestled in Horsham's food 'quarter' around East Street we checked the internet for deals. We opted for the starter and main for £11.95. We already had a voucher for free dough balls having filled in the online survey last time we visited.We arrived unbooked but had no trouble getting a table. This was probably due to the Tribute Band Music Festival a few minutes away on the cricket fields.With our deal we had a limited choice of starters and 'pretty much' any main course. Food and service were good.When the bill came the waiter had forgotten to scan the QR codes loaded onto the phone. The bill dropped from £45 to £31 when all was taken into account. £45 would have been too much but £31 was a great price. The waiter happily sorted the QR codes for us.Toilets are upstairs, maybe some access ones available downstairs. Otherwise it's all level access not counting the steps to the outside area. The restaurant is quite crowded so phone ahead if in a wheelchair or mobility scooter.We will be back, armed with the next deal...

We took advantage of the 3-course £14.95 special menu, and it was well worth it. Drinks were better priced than some of the other places in the area. Had dough balls, canneloni, and cheesecake (with a scoop of ice cream). Recommended - staff were polite, accommodating, and delivered very good service.

What a lovely time my daughter had here for her birthday tea. Table of 5 8/9 years olds , whilst we (her parents) sat a few tables away. The waitress was fantastic, treating them like mini adults taking their orders. Food was delicious and fresh as usual, all in all an excellent visit, can’t thank pizza express enough! Definitely recommend early evening on week night for children.

No room to move- children on next table kept moving around bashing into our chairs. Seems they are catering for too many - not a pleasant experience. Food very average. One male member of staff had very long unruly hair, all female staff had hair tied back/up, he did not - rather offputting - hygiene? Doubt we will return.

The staff were nice, but the food was awful. I was craving pizza and ordered the ragu and what I got did not taste like pizza. The base was the thinnest base I've ever seen and tasted sorta spongy, the cheese felt like it had dried out and didn't taste like much. The crust was salvageable, but I struggled to eat half of it so my money doesn't go to waste. My partner ordered some pasta as well and while the sauce was nice the texture of the pasta itself was off? As if it had been reheated. With the food being this bad, I'm mourning the 15 quid I'll never see again

Have always loved Pizza Express. BUT this Romana was undercooked, floppy base with no crust at all. Maybe a new chef but what happened? And more fool me I ate it because I was tired and hungry. Big difference between this venue in Horsham and my old one in Dorking.

Came here with my little cousin, as she loves pizza express- the food was lovely - but I didn’t find the staff very friendly, stood by where they collect food having personal conversations - and nobody came to check back! Wouldn’t of been able to inform them if something was wrong.

It was a Monday night so we went into town for a pizza. The Pizza Express was very quiet so we chose a window seat and got stuck in. We ordered garlic bread as a started which did not look very big for the £5.20 charge. Never mind, we had a two for one voucher on the phone although this only applies to main courses.

Partner ordered olives and pizza (no size options) for £20 or so. Smallest portions I've seen, paid over £2 for olives for rabkut 10 of them. Pizza came in a large sized box, open it up to find a dominoes small not cut.

Came tonight to celebrate my teenagers birthday. The staff were lovely and all 13 of us were served so efficiently. It was lovely to have the table upstairs in our own area as downstairs seemed rather noisy. Really touch for my son to have a lit candle put in his chocolate brownie dessert! We ate in here early one evening in July 2018. The service was prompt and we were well looked after even thought they were busy. The food was good and arrived in a reasonable time.

This is the second time in ten days where we have gone to this restaurant. Both times we were seated immediately and given drink and food menus. However, despite telling them we were in a hurry, after half an hour of waiting with no service at all, we walked out. We have been going to this restaurant for 18 years! The service is now so appalling that we will not be going back again. Ask Italian saved the day

Finding a restaurant in Horsham on a Saturday night (without reserving in advance) is not easy. Pizza Express is just towards the outer limits of the Town Centre and therefor not as crowded as some eating establishments.

We had a lovely pizza here served by a very friendly waitress.

As pizza lovers we find Pizza express a good choice for a family meal and have been to several branches. The best meal we have had to date has been this one amd that is not because there was anything wrong at the others just this one was even better. Service was a little slow but then we went when the Italian Cars were in town so everywhere was extremely busy and it was full so this would probably be fine any other time.

Very impressed as a coeliac that can't eat gluten... Pretty much everything on the menu is available GF,,,, fairly priced and great tasting.... Can't go wrong, always pleasant service with a smile.

Good & Bad hence an average rating. The 3 course menu on the vouchercloud offer for £13.95 is excellent. Generally speaking pizza express pizzas are very good and I’m personally yet to be disappointed. We took our daughter here for her birthday who is a coeliac so she had to settle for the gluten free option. For starters my daughter and partner both had dough balls, my daughter had 5 compared to my partners 8 which my daughter was rightly slightly grieved about. For the main course my daughter had the gluten free pizza base whilst my partner had a standard pizza, both were American hot. Now bearing in mind it was my daughters birthday, she was extremely disappointed in hers as compared to my partners it was very very small & poorly topped. It’s nice that pizza express make provision for coeliacs but not nice that they are clearly short changed by quantity and can be left feeling disappointed in their meal compared to the rest of the group. We stopped in Wetherspoons for a drink on the way back to the hotel and my daughter ordered a starter there as she was still hungry after our visit to pizza express.

Prices seem to have gone up recently, especially the pizzas. Unfortunately, the quality of the food hasn't.

Came here on Sunday around 4pm. Were ignored when we arrived (which I just expect these days from this branch) and when we were finally greeted we were asked if we had booked, despite the restaurant being empty. We said no and the waitress looked around at all of the empty tables as if there were none and there was nowhere to sit us! We got seated and ordered our food. The dough balls came out rock solid so I sent them back. Came back in an improved state but still not perfect. When it came to dessert we asked for our fudge cake to be warmed and were told there was no room in the oven! When we came to pay (with Clubcard vouchers) we were sighed at! I witnessed many others return their food to the kitchen throughout my visit!

The food and service was excellent with a busy buzzing atmosphere here in the restaurant and even on a Wednesday. However since the refurb they have increased the number of tables and chairs resulting in an incredibly crowded experience which meant that once we were seated we could not move from our table. I cannot fault the food, service or staff just the uncomfortable new seating arrangements.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share so that we could try a few items from the menu. Everything was wonderful, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The manager was also welcoming and friendly. The chef even stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking, which I've not experienced in other eateries. What a great service and experience. Oh, and the desserts were amazing.

Took my daughter for a late lunch and we both ordered Superfood salads. On arrival, the salads contained almost none of the ingredients listed in the menu. When this was queried the waitress stated, with a straight face, that they had run out of the superfoods! My guess is that if they had also run out of lettuce we would have been served a bowl of fresh air. Needless to say I sent my salad back.

Visited here on Friday night with my wife and kids to use our Nectar deal. We ordered a large Romana pizza and and classic one as well as sides and drinks. The classic pizza was fine in terms of toppings but the base was undercooked and had the consistency of a think piece of lino rather than a crisp pizza base. The Romana is a larger base but why then don't pizza express have plate sizes to match rather than the current situation of having half the pizza hanging over the edge of the plate. Staff were inattentive even though the restaurant wasn't packed. It was clear we were going to all share the food but they brought out no extra plates, and didn't come back to check if the food was ok. A disappointing experience which would have got one star had it not been that the whole thing cost us just over £20.

We were a bit cheeky as we had a nectar deal for 2 free mains but still spent £25 on drinks and extras but the pizzas as so much better than other pizza places in HorshamAnd great service of course

Popped in for lunch, the food was great but the service was rather slow. The activities for the children were good with crayons on the table which was very helpful.
