If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of Pizza Express! My experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare. I called to place an order, and from the very start, the staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. I’ve never encountered such a lack of basic customer service. They made me feel like I was inconveniencing them just for placing an order. It only gets worse. After being treated so poorly over the phone, I was told the food would be ready in 30 minutes. Guess what? It took well over an hour! No apology, no explanation, and the person on the phone became increasingly hostile when I called to check on the status. I understand that delays can happen, but there’s no excuse for the blatant lack of communication and the unprofessional attitude. When I finally received the food, it was lukewarm and tasted mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the wait or the hassle. With so many better pizza places out there, I strongly advise everyone to skip Pizza Express. Their rude staff and inability to deliver food in a reasonable timeframe make this place a hard no for anyone who values good service. Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere!

first time ordering from here the calazone was tough as was the Margarita base glad I didn't pay full price for them very disappointed won't order again 😕.

2hours after they accepted the order it finally arrived. They kept putting the time back. Nice food but my kid was hungry and 8:30pm is very late!

Loved the BBQ Burnt Ends pizza (absolutely delish, perfect balance of sweet and savoury) and I love that the crust is thin!! my friends and I tried 4 pizzas and I still would only recommend the BBQ Burnt Ends. we went for the £1 deal but if not for that, I would say it is a little overpriced. There was also a little bit of a wait despite it not being very busy. No one sat us so we did so ourselves and still had to wait to order. Although I was grateful to the waiter for giving us sauces (bbq & garlic mayo that went so well with the pizza). Overall, I think students can get better value for their money and slightly more tasty pizza with Pizza Punks in city centre.

I ordered the pizza at 7:30pm on a Wednesday and it arrived at 9:30pm. They must've been cooking it by candle light. Extremely disappointing service.

Ordered before closing time and the restaurant changed the delivery time to the next day 18 hours later!! I called and he didn’t care.

The place was empty, except for one other table. It took over an hour for them to bring the main course and a further hour to bring three desserts.

Took some students from an SEMH provision to the Headingley branch yesterday morning. Great food and fantastic experience making our own pizzas. The two young lads who were working went above and beyond to make sure the kids loved everytning about he visit. Brilliant customer service.

If I could I would give zero stars. Restaurant perhaps 10% full. I was sat in a corner given a menu and then ignored. Only one server plus a guy dressed all in black who cleaned tables but nothing else. In the end I left after being ignored for 15 minutes. Poor!

Recieved less than half the food ordered - had zero communication and close enough to 2 hours delivered. No help from just eat or pizza express. Awful

The pizza is great, it is cooked perfectly because of its good pizza oven. It is crispy under and easy to eat. Wide selection of food and drinks. Vegan vegetarian options too. The staff were great; shoutout to Alessandro. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seats. This is a heavy-hitter pizza branch. The overrated pizza place next door needs to learn and keep up because this branch of pizza express is doing well.

Usually love eating at pizza express so thought I’d try it from deliveroo this time. My pizza took an hour to arrive (despite living a 3 minute drive away) and was cold and smaller than the portions in the restaurant:( very disappointed!

Missing coca cola from my order and impossible to get through on the phone to report this. After driving 6h from Wales today, I was really hungry. I ordered a bundle for 1 - pizza, garlic bread with mozzarella and a coca cola. Didn't get coke. I rang twice, left two voicemail messages. I'd like to get a refund for the coke I never got. This is the third time I've ordered from this Pizza Express, and the other two were fine but if this isn't resolved, I'm definitely not going to order again. Poor experience.

Right, where to start... Okay let's take this step by step, service first! After booking a table for 7:30, we were stood waiting in a queue in the doorway. No one came to see us for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the staff were taking delivery orders as priority, meaning that all the attention was on the delivery window and not on the queue of diners. 20 minutes later we were sat. We had to go and source our own menus, and our drinks were only taken when the woman came to take our food order (I'm not sure why she didn't come earlier). After waiting for over an hour for our food we decided to talk to one of the staff (who we now know was actually the manager). He made excuses that a lot of his staff has called off sick. However speaking to the waitress upon exit, apparently no one was sick, and they just didn't staff the place properly. Maybe get your story right before lying to your customers? We asked for the bill, the bill never came. We got up to walk to the till and was met with a "thanks guys, see you later". After enquiring, the lady said that she'd assumed we'd "paid on the app". How could we pay on the app when we hadn't even received our bill yet? We could have walked out without paying, which was quite worrying considering we were a party of 5. Now onto the food! A saving grace? Not really... The pizzas tasted like nothing and were only edible because we went and got a bottle of garlic oil. The waitress at the end did apologise for the poor service we'd received which we really appreciated (that's literally all it takes guys), but the poor excuses and the awful management really left a sour taste in our mouths... or was it the pizza? We can't be sure.. I guess we'll never find out because we will be going to Rudy's next time (it's next door and amazing by the way) :D

Went to pizza express (headingley) with the family for Mother's Day. M gave us amazing service, had us laughing throughout and was really down to earth. She went out of her way to accommodate us.

Amazing staff here! We all know what to expect with Pizza Express but the fact that they delivered the usual high quality food simultaneously to a table of 20 amazed us all, without a single error or grumble. Our waitress was excellent and very patient with the 10 kids…not to mention the 10 big kids too.

Went for a valentine's dinner, deal was fairly good value, staff were friendly and efficient despite how busy it was and to top it all off the food was amazing as always.

We visited Pizza Express on a Wednesday night with a group of friends, we had starters and mains and the food was fantastic . Em our waitress looked after us so well and really made our experience more special . Thanks again

My son has a severe egg allergy so I ordered him the child's (piccolo) vegan pizza, however this was in a plain brown, unlabeled box so i did feel a little uneasy as to whether he was eating what had been ordered. Great place for fast food and in a great location

Pizza was good but the experience was spoilt when I happened to see the pizza chef blowing his nose at the pizza station and NOT washing his hands. YUK.. fair to say we won't be returning

We always get a great meal at Pizza express. We probably eat more regularly there due to the GF vegetarian options because one of us is coeliac and PE takes allergens seriously. He gets a delicious meal that won't hurt later! It is expensive now and the gold membership makes a big difference to the bill -£16 this time, which puts it more in line with the place next door. That may be a great option for others but does not do GF. Service is friendly and helpful, too.

I have come here two times and every time the food has been great and the waiter was so so lovely, im unsure of his name but he had curly hair and glasses. A man came in behaving very strangely, and he was so lovely and professional about it all. it deserves to be a lot busier in here!

The pizza was under cooked, not cut and certainly not worth the £21 that I paid for it. I have always loved the veggie options that Pizza Express have offerered but I will be thinking twice before ordering from here again.

Took my two sons here for a school holiday treat luncheon. Was sceptical about chain place but boys fancied it! Really impressed me. We had really nice quality food all freshly prepared and Harvey the waiter really looked after us and other customers. He was kind and really respectful and patient with my autistic son who kept pestering him. Will definitely go back. Food was really tasty and impressed me since my last visit in 2011! Thanks Harvey for a wonderful visit.

The delivery time changed & was originally expected to be at 8.25pm at the latest. This changed to 8:45pm - 9.05pm. It was delivered at 8.55pm.

Rather poor. Pepperoni pizza (American) was not great. I used like pizza express.

Catch up meal with my daughter, greated by a wonderfull young man (Harvey) who went out of his way to make our visit special. The food was outstanding (thank you Mustapha) a chef happy in his work. Everyone at this restaruant including the Manager Ayden who made time to chat, are outstanding. The level of service and food is out of this world here, you feel part of the family.

Have enjoyed every meal here personal non demanding service without pressure. Noted the locals also like it Good pizza and the price of wine is realistic plus better than many expensive establishments The ctew friendly always. This time served by Emelia a faultless charming lady. Will be there again when time allows us to be that side of Leeds.

A mid afternoon visit for a pizza etc friendly surroundings excellent front of house Ellen who makes all welcome (noted all customers treated well) throughout our meal in a non intrusive way a top class lady. American hot pizza was faultless (10 out of 10) wine quality so all plus sweet seriously good. Asked who conjured up the lovely Pizza so credit to Vasileros! A special team headed by Alessandro deserve credit in these times.Left when others heading in for evening shift they seemed to share team comradie that gives the business an edge.We loved our visit and recommend those wanting a realistic time visit this spot if possible. Parking is nearby if looked for in this busy area full of life.

First of all the food was great but the hygiene was horrible the chefs were using their bare hands to scoop a pasta dish into a takeaway foil tray.We were not asked if we wanted any more drinks and waited a long time for desserts without any cutlery, I do NOT recommend.

Please don't go to pizza express in Headingley. Staff in the Kitchen were scooping pasta into take away dishes with there bear hands. Discussed with the service,hair in our food. My son asked for a Hawian pizza, he's only 12 and was given a spicy Hawian and it's burnt his mouth 👄.

Food was average and a little cold. The staff were nice, but took quite a long time to bring the bill and then the card machine when asked and it only had one other table in.

We’re there for nearly 3 hours because the wait staff was so slow. There were only 5 other tables of people but took about an hour for our food to arrive. Took over 20 minutes for them to start making our coffee after ordering which we needed remaking three times before giving up bc there were bits in it and then dessert wasn’t served til after the coffee fiasco despite being ordered at the same time (40 minutes for some pre-made dough balls and sauce?). The food itself was fine but not worth £80 for 3 people in as many hours

Today I visited Headingley Pizza Express with my partner and our daughter. We were served by Eleanor who was so friendly and made the visit very enjoyable. All staff that we encountered today were also very friendly and welcoming which I really appreciate. I just wanted to say thank you, especially to Eleanor. :)

Delicious pizza and delightful, helpful staff. Aidan was very patient helping us old fogeys to navigate working the app and made sure we were all ok and even sorted out the delivery of the birthday cake in some considerable style. Thank you!

Decided to pick up a g/f pizza to take home and was slightly distracted by doughballs and a cup of coffee. Ordered the Gluten-Free American Jack pizza which looks great on the menu. Just so disappointed when I got it home and opened it - looked unappetising and it was. I tried a couple of slices but the rest was consigned to the bin. Compare the photo's and I think you'll understand where I'm coming from - waste of £10.95

Decent value and good food. The bruschetta is delicious and we enjoyed the pizza Romano and the chicken and mushroom pasta. Pleasant restaurant with polite and friendly staff.

I recently visited Pizza Express with my friends.The waitress was lovely and the food was great however we were appalled by the managers attitude. (He was short with glasses). He was unbelievably rude to his staff, lazy, and made my friends feel uncomfortable when he embarrassed the waitress at the table.

Massive delay in the order coming due to deliveries taking priority over on-site diners. Really not good enough. The German waitress was great and it isn’t the staff’s fault but they deal with all the moped delivery people before you.

Went for a Friday tea, spot on service with lovely staff and quick service. Nice dine in venue, but reasonably pricey. Desserts were spot on too.

We had a pizza this evening and it was rubbish! There was hardly any topping on it. It was a vegan pizza. It sounded lovely but I could hardly find any topping on it. Pizzas should be all about the topping. We also had a vegan/ gluten-free base. It was absolutely awful. It was a tiny pizza which cost me over £12. We will not be doing this again and I would not recommend this to anybody. It was an absolute travesty. Nothing like Italian and an absolute waste of money.

Pretty good meal all in all - formulaic and available in an identical form in numerous other Pizza Express outlets. Pleasant and helpful staff. Altogether not a cheap option. Make sure you get hold of some discount vouchers.

I am driver I come to collect order and one of the stuff told me go with outside and was very cold he was rude and the way he spoke to me not a human . I hope someone can tell the manager
