Pizza Express in Rushmoor

Pretty poor tonight. Came here in the evening on a trip with the family. Was sat for around 15-20 mins before our waiter even came over for drinks/ordering. Waiter was nice but clearly overran with poor staff around him. Only one other lad "helping"/clearing tables who was pretty useless. Almost an hour from sitting down before our starter doughballs and prawns came. Starters were ok. Had to request plates because they were forgotten. Another 30 mins wait after starters before mains finally arrived. No extra asks for any drinks etc. the whole time. Wasn't exactly the fault of our waiter really. Actually felt for him he was pretty much trying to take care of the entire place with almost zero help and the kitchen staffed looked completely disorganised. The lad who was clearing plates came after finishing. We asked for a diet coke. It didn't arrive. One pizza was way too greasy and poor standards which was removed from the bill after the main waiter came across. He was apologetic, and also had to remind the other lad about the diet coke (he eventually ended up bringing it across himself). The other pizzas were ok. Nothing special. Wouldn't return

Great service, good food and decent cocktails

Food without the usual quality of Pizza Express which was very disappointing. My starter with shrimps cost me £8 which was an absolute joke: mini shrimps in a bed of pepper and tomato cubes! Hope in future the quality matches the other Pizza Express restaurants.

Served as always with warmth and kindness

Just finished our meal at Aldershot Pizza Express. We throughly enjoyed the night. The male waiter/manager was amazing and very friendly. Thankyou for a lovely meal. 😀😀

Went for Father’s Day meal and it was great. Service was quick and polite, food was lovely and my kids loved it. Big fan. Will be going back.

Carbonara was not enjoyable. It was gritty and oily. Did not enjoy it at all.

Ordered for delivery through the app. The £16.45 Pollo Fiesta was very bare and looked like something that we could have made ourselves, both pizzas were completely cold. The drive to the store is 9mins so not much of an excuse. We'll go for somewhere else next time, or maybe even make it ourselves. Very disappointed as this is meant to be a treat. 28/05/2024 edit: we decided to give Pizza Express Aldershot one more try and ordered a number of things through Pizza Express' own website and used a birthday voucher we'd gotten from the app and being loyal customers. The delivery time on this was 45mins but yet the order was simply cancelled an hour later without a reason given. A call to the store was met with 'you can place another order'... not sure we'll be doing that all anymore! What an utter waste of time, don't bother and just go for Dominos, I've never had these issues there.

We arrived with our Year 6 class at 10am for our 'End of SAT's Pizza making treat.' We were immediately greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our 'Masterclass area.' The chef was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and so good with the children. They were able to accommodate one of our pupils with a severe allergy, and demonstrated awareness and importance of cross contamination. Our children were able to taste various toppings, learn all about Pizza Express and create their own pizza, (with passata and cheese toppings) to take back to school. They were enjoyed and devoured in minutes. Thank you

Visited on Thursday evening for first time in few months. Booked table for 5:45, only 3-4 other tables occupied at the time. Young lad that served us was friendly & chatty & is good representation of how a waiter / waitress should be. Unfortunately the food spoilt our visit again. We ordered a romana to share & a picolo menu for our little lady. Her pizza was barely cooked. Our’s was so thin & over cooked we sent it back. Fully aware Romana’s are thinner but this was see through & greasy with pepperoni so crispy it was blackened at the edges. Second one came with slight improvement but still not great. Last time we visited our little lady’s La Reine pizza which we asked for no mushrooms extra olives took 3 attempts for the chef’s to get right, 1st attempt came with mushrooms, 2nd attempt came with correct ingredients but disgustingly under cooked, the cheese was sliding off the pizza & the 3rd attempt was cooked nicely but we were back to receiving mushrooms despite the request of none! Pretty sure the waiting staff are meant to check tickets against the food they are collecting, especially after an incorrect item being served the first time. 3 attempts at a 2 ingredient kids size pizza is so poor. Again, this was a pre-booked table in a not very busy restaurant. We’d been in the restaurant so long by this point we couldn’t be bothered sending what should have been a TWO ingredient pizza back as we’d finished our food & our then 5 year old hadn’t had her main course. What a rubbish experience as a family dinner. MASSIVE shame as prior to these last 2 visits we ate here regularly enough to become gold member on the rewards app. The parking at Aldershot is so much easier than our next closest PE restaurant in Farnham where you can only feed the parking meters with coins! Just not prepared to spend money on food cooked by chef’s who clearly don’t care about what they send out. What a let down for customers & the waiting staff having to serve the uninspiring pizzas.

What a disappointment. We ordered two medium sized pizzas and were shocked when we got them home. They were as big as my open hand (I'm a 1,60cm girl). We paid £31 for dwarf, cold pizzas. A rip off

We arrived about 12.30 without reservations. The restaurant was quite empty (but did pick up later) The server greeted us promptly and showed us to a table. During discussions about the food, (1 party member is gluten intolerant) several suggestions were given as suitable meals and the server even checked other possible options to sè if they were GF. We couldn't fault his attention to detail, his compassionate manner, and the general care he gave to ALL party members. I would go there again just to be served by him, the food would be secondary.

Due to a wood oven pizza van being closed today we (unfortunately) ended up at Pizza Express. Service was non-existent. We walked to an empty restaurant - literally no clients and had to wait for anyone to tell us what to do. Service took a long time. Pizzas, which is what we actually came for, were not good. The dough was like an old shoe, chewy and literally tasted like microwaved. And it was 15 pounds for a pizza so definitely do not recommend.

Friends birthday. This restaurant is hit and miss. As it was a Monday night, we were understanding they may not have enough staff. However, get your guests a drink to start and then you’re onto a winner. The manager was more concerned with deliveroo orders and chatting at the kitchen. When the starter came we asked for more drinks. The manager was dismissive and said he had nothing to take a drinks order with. It’s such a shame, a simple pleasant response would have been fine. When we left the restaurant we said Thankyou and good bye as we left. Sadly no one, including the manager could be bothered to respond. Very disappointing, considering the kitchen staff were obviously working hard to deliver the food.

We visited on Friday as it was my son's 28th birthday. Sadly he had passed away very suddenly 2 days prior. We came here because we had spent Mother's Day here the month before and my son enjoyed it. The staff were incredible. They knew the situation and were sympathetic and so patient. The waiter especially was wonderful. He brought a cake board out for us and a lighter for the candles. I had ordered a cider for my son and asked for someone to drink it after we left. It sounds morbid but these guys are amazing and I literally cannot thank them enough for dealing with and supporting our grief.

Our grandson loves Pizza Express and so we booked a table here to celebrate his 7th birthday. When we arrived on a Sunday at 5pm it was quite empty but by the time we left it was getting really busy. Our server was really good - attentive, chatty and helpful in bringing out the cake we took with us (didn’t get her name but she was Ukrainian). Our meal orders were taken promptly and didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive. Not much you can say about a chain pizza place but our grandson was happy and that’s what counts for us..👍. There’s free 4hr parking in the Morrisons car park underneath.

Planned to use the pizza and side set menu offer here today for a party of 2 and sadly couldn't. Not a complaint about the waitress but the offer system in general. I was told to use the offer I had to download the app. Did this and showed the offer. Then told told it didn't apply to Romana pizza's despite the app saying you could use it for an extra £1.95 (you apparently need to be a gold member or something?). Then told I could only use it for one of us and not both. A bit annoying but fine. Then I found out I'd need to book a table via the app but also that I wouldn't know if it worked until I had to pay the bill? How customer unfriendly can the offer process be? I then scrapped the order and went after a pizza each instead. Sadly in the confusion of all this an extra side came out and had be returned to the kitchen. Absolute pain and soured the meal a bit as the reason we went was to take advantage of the offer.

Not a great experience here 🙁 we usually love pizza express but this was really poor…. I asked for plain pasta and I received what was obviously microwaved penne in a pool of water - it was completely inedible. The waitress didn’t do a check back on our table and seemed generally unfriendly. Won’t be returning sadly.

We had a lovely evening a meal out before going to the pictures So started with dough balls then l had vegan pizza without the olives just don’t look them followed by the tea and small cake of ginger so a nice time as restaurant was empty when we arrived so good

Me and my partner went for a valentines menu on valentines day. Food was good ,but we had to wait 20 minutes to get order from the waitress. However the waitress was very helpful and friendly

I was walking with my family on Monday 22.01 and we decided to dine in(7.45pm)because the restaurant was empty, only one table occupied. We requested a table of 8 (6 adults, 2 childrens) and one member of staff refused to accept us. He said that we don't have any booking and they are short staff. At the end we dine in the next door restaurant and when we returned the Pizza Express was completely empty(9pm). We are not going to Pizza express anymore. Disappointing.

It is impossible to get in touch with them if you encounter problems with your delivery order and then it is impossible to get a refund when they messed up with your order. Why do they have a phone no. but NEVER answer the phone? Horrible service!

I went to Pizza Express in Aldershot with a friend and we booked through the app. We arrived a little early but we were seated straight away and our waitress got us drinks while we looked at the menu. She checked on us while we decided and was chatty while taking our order. Food came quickly and was lovely, we were checked up on again during the meal. When we were done we paid through the app and headed out. Efficient and painless process, nice food and a great atmosphere.

An italian restaurant with lasagne off the menu. Whatever next? Come on pizza express, get your act together!

Ordered delivery. Pizza cold and totally underwhelming. Barely any beef brisket or cheese on the pizza (bbq burnt ends). Why does Pizza Express do such appalling take away. Not sure what’s happening to my once favourite pizza brand. I’ll avoid next time

Pizza is stone cold, waited 1.5 hours for our food, had to cut our own pizza, garlic dough balls didn’t even come with the Garlic Butter. We ordered the big portions so had to eat dry dough balls. Don’t bother ordering delivery it’s a joke. Was only refunded £10 after spending £40+ what a joke

It has amazing stone baked pizza. The dough balls are great but they were quite small. Overall this place is good.

Awful Friday night atmosphere not one smile from the staff the chef's were grumpy really awful time there . Food was cold and they put ice in my wine without even asking .. I explained to the manager and she shrugged it off saying they were short staffed yet they had three people working and it was empty ! Won't be going back there

Ordered a take out. Pizzas were fine but am very disappointed with the doughballs. The left one is the standard size. The rest were half or even smaller.

The food and gluten free options are spot on if not better than ever. Very tasty. But something has drastically changed and that is that I no longer felt special having to compete for table service with delivery drivers picking up online orders. As a result of overall experience the bill felt expensive and while I did add my tip to the bill (I felt sorry for the workers), I felt underwhelmed. It is a shame the world is changing and there is nothing I can do.

What made it really special was being served by Krystel who couldn't do enough for us. We had 4 lively children with us and she made every effort to make their experience a good one.

I made a last minute lunch booking for today (after seeing ad on Instagram for piccolino menu offer). From the moment we arrived Krystel was attentive, very good with the children and nothing was too much trouble! She helped make a potential stressful situation a lot more enjoyable. Krystel is definitely a bonus to your business 😃

I was passing Pizza Express with my Mum yesterday heading for another restaurant but when Mum saw the Pizza sign her eyes lit up. I had to pop in to check that they did gluten free pizza base and yes they did. We were served by Krystel who was the nicest server I have ever come across. She was really sweet and kind to my 88 year old Mum and thoughtful in the way she served us. She was running all over the place too but that didn't stop her being attentive to us. The pizzas were excellent - just I think they are a bit pricey, as are desserts and drinks - prices seem to have gone up and up. Maybe more people would be in there if they weren't so high. Anyway my Mum really enjoyed her meal and thank you again to Krystel.

All ok but the portion size are ridiculous and not for this price. Very cocky of Pizza Express to think they can go away with this cause they are well known brand. You would not have this on any other pizza restaurant. Anyway even the big brands gone downhill not keeping up to date and etc.

came in on a date, and was refused tap water, spent £6 on a bottle of water. Went back a second time and michael jordan (quit the funny name for a lady with red hair and tattoos) gave us a discount and brilliant service after finding out about our previous expeirence.

Today was the first time we have got delivery from Pizza Express Aldershot (we have eaten in the restaurant several times many years ago). This review is based on our takeaway experience today: Pros: * Food prepared and delivered promptly (through Uber Eats) * Desserts very nice Cons: * Only one children's option on Uber Eats site? * Hot food (pizzas, garlic bread & halloumi bites) arrived luke-warm (we live about 7 mins from the restaurant and driver was prompt) * Garlic bread was bland - just tasted like bread * Chicken caeser salad was missing cheese shavings and dressing, so was a bit bland and dry * Spicy Giuseppe pizza only tasted of the spice, there was no depth of flavour Cost: £67.10 (2 adults & 1 child, each had starter, main & dessert). Overall: Disappointing take-away experience at restaurant prices. I think next time we will stick to eating in.

I always visit here before going to the theatre. Excellent choice of pizzas and pastas all well prepared. The staff are friendly and hard working. I especially like to watch the food being prepared in the open kitchen that is centre stage in the restaurant. All in all a great experience and I will continue to return.

Overall the visit was pleasant, the food tasted good too, but I was expecting a little more portion wise for the money. The staff were friendly, but was a little shocked when I was asked do I require my change after paying cash? but otherwise from that the visit was pleasant

If it was possible to give a -5 star review I definitely would. Such a disrespectful staff at Aldershot location. We live here and we know that Pizza Express in Aldershot doesn’t really get busy, never understood why until experiencing such a disrespectful treatment ourselves today. It’s a rainy day and we went in with 2 little toddlers, staff told us that all the tables are booked, which was a big surprise because I never seen the place packed on the last 2 years anyway. It was clear that it wasn’t true. There were only 2 occupied tables with grown ups and the rest of the tables weren’t set up as if they were booked!! Quite obviously staff was avoiding kids around as they probably can’t be bothered with tantrums or madness of kids so they select which costumers they want to let in for the day. To make it even worse the person at the door said this is not personal and no-one complaint it was personal. So my guess it it was actually personal!!!!! DISGUSTING AND DISGRACEFUL ATTITUDE ALSO

Usually like pizza express but this time the thin and crispy pizza is not only not cut but it’s also undercooked and soggy. I sent a photo to deliveroo but they’ve asked me to review instead. For the price you pay for these it’s quite disappointing.

I used Pizza Express Aldershot regularly on a weekly basis for a number of months. During this time I got to know the staff well, both those working the floor and also some of the Pizzaiolos. Initially, things weren't great, I was refused entry at around 8:30 for numerous 'reasons' one more than one occasion (actually, I think it was mainly due to it being rather quiet). However, putting that to one side, when I did get to know the staff better, it turned out to be one of my favourite PE experiences. The floor staff were always very welcoming and friendly and the Pizzaiolos were enthusiastic enough to make my pizzas tailored to my specific liking (as well as suggesting enhancements). In summary, I hope to return to see my mates in Aldershot soon and if you're thinking of a visit I'd recommend it (but you probably don't want to leave it too late!)

We came to see a show at the West End centre and wanted to grab a bit too eat at Nandos. Unfortunately the way withe have been too long. So we headed for Pizzas Express. The place was buzzing with a Friday night crowd. Our pizzas were just ok. Service was very good and it was a pleasant experience all in all.

Sadly, I ordered a take away for collection. My office is 5min down the road and by the time I got to work and set the pizzas out for lunch, it was ice cold. It was also not cut through, so I had to use blunt knives to cut it and warm it up in the microwave 😞

Abysmal experience the pizza was oily and had no flavour the staff have no clue about pizza when you ask them there opinion for a pizza it's like talking to a robot made to only take your order. For the price go for a cheaper option nearby King's pizza isn't bad and Milanos is nice too.

My son had a pizza making party at the Aldershot Pizza Express and they had a great time. And the staff were incredible, they were so good with the children and so accommodating. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

A family birthday. There were 6 of us, the restaurant was quote busy, but with good staffing levels service was excellent as was our food.

Ordered 11:30am. Delivered cold at 1pm. The order was incorrect. For takeaway: They don't offer gluten free bases on all their pizzas. You can't even order a gluten free margarita, the most basic of all pizzas. Gluten free children's menu is also not available for delivery. We regularly praise our local PX but this was hopeless.

To the man serving table 12 tonight. We heard you tell your colleagues you were mad we had a £160 bill and didn't leave you a tip. Perhaps remembering the childrens menu, our second drinks you forgot twice, clearing the table quicker and bringing a dessert menu over in the future may help you. You had an easy job tonight, the restaurant was moderately busy, do better. The food however and the strawberry lemonade was lovely.

Visit restaurant in Aldershot what an amazing experience. Staff unbelievable organised, very very nice. Guys in the kitchen were getting food so quick and it was amazing. Waitress was looking after us all the time. We had drinks and food right away. All staff was smiling and very polite. Our waitress Monika she help us a lot with all choices. She definitely knew what to offer and how to describe every meal or drink. It was amazing expirence. Definitely recommend and Definitely will get back there.

They have 2 calzone on the menu, both with a lot of chilli.....there is no chilli in calzone! Worryingly they could not do one without which says they don't make the pizzas here, they must just warm up ready made ones. Not great

We went to Pizza express (Aldershot branch) for dinner and had the best experience. The service was great by the staff and our server, Rosie, was really attentive, friendly and sweet! The food was lush (we had a few specific requests) and it was a busy night but we had finished the meal (starters and mains) within the hour! Loved the vibe. Looking forward to dining again!

Worst pizzas ever. Overpriced and they arrived very cold, no cheese at all, only dough and very cold tomato sauce. The taste was like if they were made 3 days ago. Waste of money.

The food never arrives the same. Same food differently cooked and different quantity each time. Sometimes is hot others is cold. They never answer the phone. We made a request for a refund due to a portion being like a child's portion, half of what we usually get and we are waiting for ages to even get a reply let alone to get the refund. We ended up eating a sandwich after paying them 30 pounds for our dinner.

I only want to say, the manager is a disaster,I was working with they for 3 years!and I was last week for one kids party appointment and the manager kicked me out from the office with bad words!

Dreadful awful pizza…….soggy uncooked base with poor quality minimal topping, terrible standard for part of what was once a great franchise

Really lovely food. Kids meal is on the smaller side for an 11 year old so will remember this for next time. The waitress was so kind, helpful and really attentive. Was cool to watch the staff making up the bases and doughballs as we sat near the food station. Nice and clean restaurant.

Lost it’s spark. This branch used to be on par with other pizza express restaurants. How we after todays visit I wouldn’t go back. Although all staff are polite. They didn’t come across friendly, and everything just felt juvenile and inexperienced. The chairs needed brushing down (by us) beige we could sit down. The glasses were either smeared or had fluff on, had to ask to swap. This can happen it’s one of those things . My salad for started was absolutely swimming in oil. I get that salads are dressed in oil but there was so much it was inedible. Couldn’t taste anything but olive oil. The waiter did apologise and removed it from the final bill. Mains took a very long time to follow - over half an hour and the restaurant wasn’t busy. I requested salt and pepper and was handed a giant pepper grinder which was absolutely filthy and sticky when I picked it up. Had to wash my hands. I found it also distracting having delivery drivers run in and out constantly and a member of staff issuing up a whole table to sort orders for collection by these drivers. I think this was why our mains took so long as delivering orders seem to get priority. I wouldn’t go to this one again, Farnham still has the Pizza Express experience but Aldershot one needs a good clean. Staff trained more in creating a better experience and deliveroo orders sorted somewhere else.

It's bank holiday Monday and they only had one chef, I understand if this can't be helped due to sickness or something but they only had 4 tables seated, 2 of which already had their food, and they said they couldn't seat us. We said we didn't mind waiting and they still said a flat out no. Very poor service.

Normally love pizza express but this experience was pretty unimpressive. Pizzas all came either uncooked or cold. All the waiting staff were very young and sweet but not very experienced and we saw them standing around talking a lot They didn't pay attention to us much so I ended up giving up on asking for tap water. One pizza was cold we asked for it to be warmed up . They brought it back burnt. Think most of the permanent staff had probably been chased out the country by Brexit.

We wanted a vegan giardiniera pizza but they weren’t available on Deliveroo. I rang the restaurant and they were happy to swap out the cheese for me when I gave them the order number. Fantastic service, thank you Jacob.

I couldn't imagine before that pizza may be so delicious!

The restaurant was busy as expected on a Friday night but we didn’t expect to be waiting at the door for nearly 5 minutes before so much as a nod from staff. Once seated we had to call over a member of staff who was clearing a table next to us in order to try and order, after waiting for over 10 minutes. The waitress didn’t take our order and said she would send someone over. Our starters then arrived after some time but before our drinks so again I called over the same waitress who was setting a table with cutlery beside us. Her response was evident of poor staff training which should be to prioritise the customer. Her response was “I’ll just finish setting this table and then I’ll go find out where your drinks are.” Whilst eating our mains another waitress was stood with her back to us and kept going back and forth to this small gap between us and the table next to us to what seemed to have a catch-up with her boyfriend or friends, which didn’t help when the team were clearly understaffed as well as us not appreciating having someone stand so close with their back to us whilst we’re eating. On a positive note the food was tasty and can’t make any complaints with regards to that, it was what we expected it to be. However I felt sorry for the waiter who took our order and brought our drinks over, he seemed to be doing most of the work with regards to table service and was very apologetic for us having to wait around. It was clear he was trying to do his best and it’s a shame the other waitress’ and waiters didn’t take a leaf out of his book. However, one good waiter isn’t enough for us to risk returning when there is poor staff management and service throughout majority of the restaurant which has let the place down and means we won’t be returning.

During this visit service was a little slow, 6 serving staff vs 2 chefs. However, despite the wait the food was the usual standard 🙂

As a family we have been to many different Pizza Express restaurants in many different locations and this one was hands down the worst. Service unbelievably bad. We won’t go back

Very small and not enough room unless u have booked... more so a restaurant than a pub

Went at 7pm, 6 people and it was not overly busy a few tables available. They didn't have half of the stuff on the menu, they messed up our order, when the kids pasta came out it was bone dry and when I told the waitress she said "I can see its totally dry but the manager said serve it anyway" really poor experience and one of the worst pizza express I have been to! Avoid pizza express Aldershot. Very disappointed 😞

We called in to have dinner before going to pictures I had a vegan sloppy classic without the smoky chilli something that Aldershot branch can do but Farnham could not

Such a shame as this place was always amazing and service was good, visited tonight ans waited 40 mins to be served and i had to ask, very local to here and family uses this all the time qs delivery and eating in. must be under new managment and how something good can go so bad, seems more staff cooking than serving. anyway we are lucky we live in farnham so we have the other one to go to where service is so much better.

Absolutely no. What a waste of time ordering ahead. Staff can't cope with a table of over two. Twelve people arrived managed to get drinks served eventually and then it went down hill from there. Starters came to the table one at a time over twenty-five minutes and we were then left to drink for a further eighteen minutes before the 1st main arrived to then wait twenty-eight minutes before a further two mains arrived . Staff could not cope nor organise themselves . Will never return

Good service, good food, clean restaurant.

Food was great but not one staff member wore a mask, our waiter had a cold. Tables were far too close to each other meaning people walking through to get past were too close to us. Did not feel covid safe.

3 hours later and we have finally finished. Despite pre-ordering, the starters still took nearly an hour, main course was better but dessert was a 60 min trickle of hot drinks and blobs of ice cream randomly appearing. It's been a long eve out!

Such great service! Despite the busy night, two young women took diligent care of our table of 6. We asked lots of questions, made specific alterations to menu items. Our order arrived exactly as requested. The pizza selections were unique, flavorful. We appreciated the broad range of tastes. The Vegan Nourish Bowl was a particular favorite for those not interested in only pizza. The combination of flavors and textures was as unexpected as it was delightful. I’d return just for that. The portion is hearty—plenty to take home and enjoy again. The clean and crisp decor is like a bow, tying up this great experience.
