Pizza Express in Enfield

We recently hosted a birthday party for a teenager and his school friends at Pizza Express Southgate . The staff, especially Sally, went above and beyond to ensure that the kids were comfortable and well taken care of. Sally was not only professional but also incredibly kind in taking each child's order. She interacted with the children in such a warm and friendly manner, truly making my child's day extra special. I would give Sally a solid 5 stars for her exceptional customer service and the way she engaged with everyone throughout the party. Thank you, Sally, for making our son's day one to remember. This is the second year in a row that my child has chosen Southgate Pizza Express for his party, and we couldn't be happier with the experience!

Have no reason to ever return to Pizza Express. The acoustics were horrible with low level horrendous music playing in the background the entire time, literally killed the mood that sounded like an industrial machine was operating in the background. It was like eating in a bad motorway service station. Waiter was completely in the wrong job, no people skills whatsoever. After delivering the food never checked back to see if all was ok or if we needed anything. Food was 3 or 4 out of 10. The tiramisu was easily the worst we have ever had, my wife has one spoonful and that was enough. Pizzas and dough balls we overcooked. The are simply too many other places on the world to eat to ever warrant visiting Pizza Express again. Shame as we used to bust the Enfield branch often but this has now closed down. TBH I can see why Pizza Express are in trouble and don’t expect them to survive much longer. They have no idea what the public want.

Ordered through Uber. Paid over £3 for coke only for it not to be delivered. Very simple order, pizza, coke and dough balls. Is this a way to retain even more money from their customer?

I came to the pizzaria at 10:02 to eat with my kids and my family and the manager with the waiter told us they close 10:30 but on google it says 11pm and I know the delivery service stays until midnight. The detail is I was PizzaExpress staff so I know exactly what I am talking about.

Pizzas fresh and tasty. Service by Salvadore excellent. Will go again when next fancying a pizza in Southgate.

Avoid, rude rude waiter, I wish I walked out . Met a friend and they had a board outside with an offer, so we asked our waiter what the offer was, he was so blunt I was shocked, told me it was an offer on the pizza express app, and then started walking away, even though we was still talking to him , anyway we downloaded the app and got the offer, ordered our food and when it came he literally nearly threw the plates at us, asked for the bill and he said you can pay by the app, walked away again, didn’t bother telling us what our table number was so we couldn’t pay the bill, Also couldn’t get any staffs attention, service was just so bad, the pizza was good , but won’t be back here

We visited here on Friday evening. Fairly quiet as most of their business seemed to come from online orders rather than dine in customers. Only thing I didn’t like was having to use the app to get a discount as the app is very glitchy and it took several attempts to get it to work.

I came here for dinner to celebrate the eightieth birthday of a friend. It was a busy Friday night and the service was very slow. The pizza I had was very nice.

I came here for lunch after my shift at North London Hospice,with one of my fellow volunteers. I had the the thin crust pizza with some salad in the middle,it was very nice but at £15 quite expensive.

We all enjoyed our pizzas in this very spacious restaurant (which has openable windows at the front when the weather allows). The waiting staff are eager to please . I noticed many new and interesting soft drinks and desserts on the menu. Nice coffee too.

We went for dinner on a quietish Monday night. All the Pizzas looked and tasted great. Our vegetarians and vegans had plenty of choice. There is a good selection of desserts too (or mini desserts with your coffee included in the price).

Reasons to feel safer here while coronavirus is still around- it is a large restaurant with the tables well spaced apart. There are openable windows at the front when weather permits and there is even a terrace outside where it is possible to be served (probably not an option in winter). The pizzas and desserts are yummy and the service satisfactory. Nice coffee too.

I don’t ever write reviews but after last nights experience I have to! First off let me just name and shame SALVATORE! From the get go it was or should I say he was awful. We had a booking, arrived and he appeared to be inconvenienced by our arrival and rolled his eyes before showing us to a table. The table only had one chair (there was two of us) and then he left us standing by the table! We had to then go ask another table if their chair was free. We dismissed this as a minor error but now have come to realise this is just how this man operates! From then it took half an hour from our starter to arrive from ordering and service was also slow for the main. We then ordered the bill from our friend Salvatore, he barely acknowledged us (slight grunt - often his chosen form of communication) and then he walked away to another waitress who was clearly rushed off her feet and pointed at our table. We then had the privilege of watching Salvatore do next to nothing for 25 minutes and then again when another table ordered he pointed at the poor waitress. After half an hour of waiting for the bill I again asked Salvatore for the bill, to which he raised his hands in the air, shrugged said “I don’t want to touch it” and again just walked off shaking his head. After 35 minutes of waiting my partner was forced to go over and ask for the bill. The question was directed at Salvatore however he was unresponsive and didn’t acknowledge and the waitress (apologies we didn’t get her name) who was very apologetic then sorted out our bill. We left 40 minutes after asking for the bill. We would absolutely NOT recommend coming here. Find another pizza express restaurant!

Very good just pricey. We went here (6 of us and a baby) for our daughters 10th birthday. We were the only table in the place. Food was decent pizza express and the service was fast (should be we were the only ones), the staff were very friendly. The decor was clean and modern. Fuimos a la Pizza Express con un grupo de cuarenta personas. Esta fue una antes de la navidad. The service was a little slow but the meal was nice, the girl serving was very polite, the plates were cold but the meal was very hot.

If you want a good Italian pizza don't bother! Go next door to Fantozzi - so much nicer . The food at pizza express was bland and quite small. It's just another boring Italian chain restaurant .

We went on Sunday and although we had not booked it was fine as was not over busy. We had a lovely meal and were able to use our vouchers. Pizza is a bit pricey but with the vouchers its affordable. the service was good. Waitress was polite and we didn't wait too long. We enjoyed a visit to Pizza Express. The aim was to have a fast service and they did not fail us. I had a delicious low calories salad while the rest has lovely pizzas. The missis was a little sick when we arrived home though.

We arrived on a wednesday at 5pm, not a busy time and waited an hour for our food to arrive. Mostly ordered pizzas and a bowl of pasta. the pasta turned up an hour later and burnt. black and brown bits of rubbery pasta. Pizzas were not that great and were served warm when they eventually arrived. Service wasnt great and the manager was a miserable so and so who thought he was a cut above the rest. Didn't seem to bothered that we were not impressed. My son has intolerances and there were hardly any alternatives. Wont be going back.

A group of 7 mums with buggies arrived without a booking and staff were very pleasant in organising an area for us to sit together, with enough space for the buggies plus 3 highchairs. Food was the usual decent pizza express standard. Service not particularly quick but relaxed and polite so fine for us as it was a leisurely lunch. We also had a combination of vouchers which needed to be processed - a couple of issues with this initially but the staff managed to sort it for us.Thanks to the pizza express team for making us welcome.

My wife and I had to send our pizzas back, because the base of both our pizzas was raw, which had lead the sauce to soak through the base. We complained, and rather than make us fresh pizzas, they blitzed them in the oven again, which totally dried them out, charring the topping. The waiter wasn't at all apologetic, but disgruntled that we'd sent them back. The problem is, that to cook pizza properly you need to place the dough directly on a very hot surface which is why the best pizzas are made in stone ovens or using a pre-heated pizza stone. In this Pizza Express the pizzas are placed on a cold, metal dish, then placed in electric ovens, so the pizzas don't cook from the bottom up, but the top down, drying out the toppings. At around £13 for a pizza, I expect better. Plus, the toilets are beaten up and dirty, and the staff are moody.

This is one of the bigger Pizza Express restaurants and was opened about 20 years ago.I have eaten here many times and the food is always consistent. Good pizza and reasonable service are standard here.If you're a Pizza Express fan and you're in the area, I think you'll enjoy your meal here.

Went on a voucher deal, rude not to and it's OK. Nothing special really. Service was OK but nothing particularly to write home about. Not over friendly shall we say. The house red is always good in Express and no change here. I had the Hotter Pizza which was indeed hotter than hell and very nice too. Atmosphere is more romantic than some pizzerias. Low lighting mellows the size of the place. Wouldn't rush back but if there's a deal on offer then worth a go.

This place always has a great selection of tasty food. We were pleasantly surprised to be given some sort of pesto flavoured mini breadsticks by the waiter as he served our drinks, which was a nice gesture. Our pizza came quickly and tasted good as always. Dessert was also tasty! The waiter we had started to get a bit cold with us when someone in our group asked for a discount on one of the desserts because the coffee it was supposed to come with wasn't available. He refused, but still didn't seem happy. As we left, he didn't even turn to look at us as we said thank you, especially as we added gratuity to our bills! Overall, I have generally had a good experience here, but do feel a bit late down by the hostile waiter near the end.

Staff, with very little english they can speak are rude and seemed bothered and rushed to finish at the table even when the restaurant is empty. Staff go missing and tables are left unserved while later people go right ahead. Very poor management, the manager personally is nothing more than a money obsessed pig with no customer service, nor tack. Food is basic compared to other branches in area

Pizza is fine, Caesar salad was a joke didn't have croutons nor Parmesan nor a Caesar sauce it had according to the guy "a mayo garlic sauce"!!! Anyhow, worst thing that happened twice in both times I visited is the poor service even when they only have 3 tables. The guy takes 20 minutes to come for drinks as he's chatting on the side to the girl then takes an hour to get your pizza and when it does we never see his face again so have to shout to get anyone attention to get salt or another drink etc..!

Nice pizzas with plenty of choice of thickness and toppings. Salads, pasta and rice dishes also available. Pretty standard across all their restaurants. Service usually good.

I was at the Southgate branch on Friday and the manager was very rude after giving us the wrong Bill and shouted and pointed at me after we paid telling me I cannot use the voucher I had due to the fact we ordered things that wasn't on the deal. I am a disabled person and just came out of hospital I had a crutch and had to sit down and he did not care in the slightest and chucked the bill at me and said "PAY IT" I would have done anyway but expected to be spoken to nicely. It was like he was going to hit me whilst he was shouting and pointing just because of his own mistake and I did call him an animal because of the way he spoke to me.

Always dependable pizzas at Pizza Express. Great for families and couples alike. The Southgate branch is roomy and has a great atmosphere.

They definitely do the best Pizzas. I live their light low calorie dishes as I can feel naughty without loading up the carbs!

Booked a table for 7.30 had to chase the staff continuously to order drinks/food. The restaurant was not very busy but service was extremely slow and our food finally arrived at 9.20 The food was good but is overpriced and although its not nice to be rushed out if a restaurant this was the other extremeWill not be going again .

The food was good- the same as other pizza express branches. I was seated outside and had to wait around 40 minutes before heading in to chase up our waiter for the starter (he dealt with this straight away and apologised). Mains were both good. After dessert there was no sign of our waiter so after another long wait we went in to collect the bill. One staff member looked tired but was polite, started our bill & took money off due to how long we had to wait. However, her colleague who took over was very stroppy& continued to rush me paying - I was obviously looking for my phone as I thought I may have left it outside- (holding several bags as no-one had given our bill at the table) far from helping to look or waiting she persisted in repeating the price & after I apologised for being £1.50 short in cash and asking to pay by card, she retorted grumpily that she couldn't change it now & she'll have to take it out of her wages. Luckily I then found another £5 note which was greeted with a tut & "ok I'll get your change". Our original waiter said "bye" as we left but others were rude. Maybe better service if sat inside.

You can go there on your own or with family / friends. It´s a great place to be, not only for pizza as they serve many other items. Don´t forget to try their bruschetta, really yammy!

Went to a pizza express today. Over priced rubbish. I had the thin crust which really was paper thin , dry with minuscule topping. My daughter had the La Reine which was supposed to be mushroom. Hardly any mushroom, perhaps one mushroom diced into miniscule bits and very dry. Absolutely disappointed even the worst supermarket brands are better. Absolute tat. We shall stick with the better chains we usually go to Prezzo and Strada where I have never been disappointed

We've given our patronage to PE in Chase Side for years now with mixed results. This most recent time, the first time we've gone in nearly a year, we went very late on a weekday night, expecting the place to be empty. We were wrong - there were several other tables in there still being served so it felt lively.The staff person we initially saw had a face like thunder and despite our attempts to be pleasant and engaging, he maintained his taciturn attitude. He was replaced by a waitress who was cheerful enough and a great improvement.Starters (caprese salad), pizzas (four seasons and pollo ad astra) and dessert (lemon tart and cheesecake) were fantastic. Wine - montepulcciano d'abruzzi - and cappuccinos were also of a good standard. Nice to have a consistent place of high quality in the neighbourhood. The fact of its being on the Tastecard scheme makes it a reasonable value. We will definitely return.

Went to Pizza express for lunch, while the food was good the service and the atmosphere could have been better.Was quite early so no one else there, however it did pick up. Staff were not exactly attentive considering we were the only ones. Menu was given to us a bit of chat and that was it. Let down by the service, however worth noting food prices keep going up shame the service does not.

The food is good and on par with most Pizza Express but the service is the worst I've ever experienced in a restaurant. It was not as if it was full (more like 1/4 full) and they had four waiting staff. God knows what they were doing but I know they were not serving customers. I saw two couples walked out as they got fed up waiting for their menu. Sort it out Pizza Express!

I have been to Pizza Express several times and the food has always been excellent. This time I had garlic bread for starters, probably the best garlic bread I've ever had. My pizza was also very good. I thought the service was a bit slow and it would appear that some customers get their needs attended to more than others. My waiter seemed quite distracted and I was surprised when he got my order right. However, when I asked for another drink, well, I'm still waiting for it. I find the food very good but I would like to give some advice, treat each customer equally and, pay attention to what he customer is asking for.

This is the only branch ive tried as it's the closest to me so I cant compare to other branches but I certainly wont be going back. I went here for dinner in the evening and there was just one waiter serving ..who completely ignored us all night ..it was like being in McDonalds, after waiting 20 minutes for a pizza cutter to be brought to us ..by this time the food was stone cold 'no apology was given' as for the pizza it was very tough and dry (ive had better frozen pizzas for £1.50)

What can be said...Pizza Express is pretty consistent across the board, no matter which branch I've visited. From Haymarket to East Moseley, it's been fairly steady. The Southgate branch is no exception.We, a party of four, were seated at a teeny table. I don't know who imagines you're going to get four meals, starters and drinks on a table meant for four teacups, but never mind - we switched to the nearby slightly larger table and were more comfortable...apart from the adjacent table whose party included small children. I have children myself, and have to say, these people were utterly inappropriate, letting their children (between 2-5 years) run - literally RUN - around their table, without shoes, shrieking and bumping into the chair of one of our party members. In my view, staff should have said something about this. A drinks order was wrong, but the waiter - albeit slow in getting to us - was so charming and smiley, that it went a long way in smoothing over the patchy service. The starters (mozzarella / tomato salad, polpettini, mushrooms with cheese) were well received, as were the meals (Il Padrino, a salad of some variety, Four Seasons and the chicken / peppadew pepper pizza). The wine, a competent Syrah, was also very pleasant.Desserts were fine, if extremely small, thereby rendering their pricetag far too high.We will be back, but dessert is unlikely due to the cost. Glad P.E. is on the tastecard, which significantly defrays the inflated price.

Small menue so easy to service the staff fast and friendly fantastic for children I fact my childs school often takes then they love creating and cooking their own pizzas like the fresh herbs like the fact you can sit alfresco good choise off wine present arty surroundings with good value for money food

We visit this restaurant only about once a year to meet up with friends who live nearby. In the past I have found this restaurant to be of a good standard. However, the pizza I was served yesterday was so tough that it was impossible to cut let alone chew. We also ordered a side dish of chips that was not delivered. In past years we have found the restaurant to be v busy. Last night at 8pm I counted eight customers.

man this place is fabulous. the pizzas are great, amazing.i had a cheese pizza.I used to travel apprx 5kms to get a pizza from this place . Trust me pizzas here are so tasty and diferent. Best place for pizza.

Service was terrible, pizza was mediocre, and billing was incorrect. Waiter brought us a drink we did not order, then tried to charge us for it.

The food was good and a good value. The service was good for the type of restaurant it was.

I eat at Pizza Express Southgate about 3 times a month, and thus would consider myself a regular there. What was always good service has slipped since early April and is now consistently poor. Staff are very uninterested, and are bordering on rude on occasion. A smile would go along way, but on the past 3 occasions I haven't got a smile out of any of the waiters or waitresses once! I complained after my first poor experience back in April, and received a sincere apology and offered money off my next visit, however my experiences since have only got worse and I will no longer be giving Pizza Express Southgate my custom until they re-focus on the importance of good service.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the attention of the staff, lovely food , ambiance of the place and relaxing music which all added to our experience. Nothing was too much trouble and I will be telling all my friends to come here. Compliments to Pizza Express Huntingdon!

The service i recieved while i was dinning at pizza express restaurant was marvelous honestly. The waiter were very polite and helpful when it comes down chosing what to eat or drink and they had smile on thier face for the first moment til the last monent. The building of the restaurant was very old but was comfortable to eat in. The food was value for money.

The other evening, my wife and I decided to have a meal at the Pizza Express in Southgate. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately, and that’s when the problems started. My wife chose the bruschetta as a starter and the Grand caesar salad with no anchovies as the main. First two courses I chose, the pollo pesto and proscuitto e funghi, were not available and the reason given by the manager, that a delivery had come in late and it hadn’t been unpacked yet. And so they asked me to choose another main, I asked them to give me a couple of minutes. After 15 minutes I had to call the waiter back due to the fact that he hadn’t taken my order for the main yet. This was nearly twenty minutes after sitting down. And so I ordered the garlic Bread with Mozzarella La Reine.After about forty five minutes after sitting down, and a lot of clock watching we asked the waiter where our starters had got to. He explained to us that we didn’t have any starters and that he had put the bruschetta as a main course and hadn’t taken the garlic bread at all. And so we were expecting three main courses between two people.The manager approached our table and apologized for the mix up and explained that they would throw our starters in for free. My wife asked when the bruschetta would arrive, and she explained that it would take a couple of minutes. At this point we didn’t want free food, we just wanted food. It went from bad to worse as I witnessed the manager putting on an apron and getting into the kitchen. And It wasn’t even busy. Roughly fifteen minutes later, my La Reine pizza arrived, and not to my surprise it was cold, this was followed by the garlic bread with mozzarella cheese starter. My wife finally got her Grand caesar salad with the anchovies she specifically asked not to be in it. She explained to the waiter who took it back to the kitchen, within five minutes the waiter returned with another Grand caesar salad, or so we thought. We asked the waiter if it was a new salad, and the waiter said “ no the anchovies have just been picked out” At which point we got up and left not looking back. We spent over an hour in there and we never even sot to see the bruschetta. I have never experienced such ineptitude when it comes to restaurant service. I advise you to never go to this restaurant, or at any point ever go to chain Italian restaurants, there are enough independent Italian restaurants around that are far more superior, in class, service and culinary delights, go to them, not these faux Italians restaurants, run by inept staff who are incapable of understanding the concept of good service . Go to L’Artista in North Finchley, good Italian restaurant, serving great Italian food, with fantastic service.
