Piña Loca Bromborough in Wirral

We booked ahead and didn’t even need to introduce ourselves as the lovely waiter knew who we were from the requests we’d made. The waiter and waitress (sorry, I didn’t get names, but should have!) looked after me and the two children I was with like we were family, which as I was travelling on my own was a welcome relief. The food was wonderful and some of the best Mexican I’ve had outside of California. They have a huge Margarita menu I look forward to making my way through when I’m next in town and don’t have the kids with me!

Another update! - Back again last night (Wednesday) for my third visit. Tacos and nachos were, as always, fresh and tasty. Took someone for their first time who was slightly apprehensive on ordering and what to expect, but they enjoyed the food and atmosphere. ------------------------------------------------- Update - revisited again Friday evening. Not surprisingly, it was a lot busier and louder but service was still fast and friendly. This time, with a group of friends, we opted for the tacos. three plates each and a shared plate of nachos. Again, the food looked and tasted fantastic. Fish tacos were particularly good. Quesa tacos birria were so rich and tasty. I'm super greedy but that left me stuffed. :-) ------------------------- Lovely food and friendly attentive staff. I was a little worried about the ordering, however, the menu was explained and a burrito with a side/starter was easily enough for an evening meal. Prices were really reasonable . Great to have a place like this local to the village

Went last night, unsure what to expect . The food was delicious and plentiful, tried food I can't even pronounce. All in all a lovely evening, the staff were very nice, the place was busy so I was glad we booked in advance. I definitely want to go again.

Tacos we're like they had been left out for a while which made them taste a bit stale which has brought the rating right down. Cocktails decent, birria was delicious.

I thought the food was very fresh and unique for Mexican food, they certainly put their own twist on things. Loved the atmosphere, great choice in music without the usual cheesy stuff you get in some Mexican restaurants. Connor, our waiter, was excellent - laid back and friendly but nothing was too much trouble. Reasonably priced wine. Need to go back and try the cocktails!

Went for a meal with co-workers and had a great time, the food was delicious and well portioned, and the cocktails were lovely well made and tasted great. Will definitely be coming back again.

We booked this venue for our gender reveal, originally planning for just 15 people, but ended up inviting more, and around 30 attended. The entire team was so attentive from the start and everything was incredibly organized. The food was outstanding, and we received so many compliments from our guests about the excellent service. The staff even came over to congratulate us, which added a really special, personal touch to our celebration. We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to bring our baby boy when he arrives!

After being pretty much housebound for a long long time due to illness and on top of that an unfortunate accident...my first choice for my first trip out was Pina Loca. Due to my current circumstances I have to mention this place is the best wheelchair friendly establishment I have visited which straight away removed any anxiety I may have had that would have affected my experience. Without making a fuss the staff were totally considerate and accommodating. I had a classic margarita to start which was sublime and a really good amount in a stylish glass and well presented. For food I ordered a burrito bowl and a side of heuvos bon patatas. Both were absolutely gorgeous. I was too full to finish but luckily I had my husband who with me to finish my leftovers. He ordered tacos which he really enjoyed. For dessert husband had churros which he enjoyed whilst I had my lovely liquid dessert of an espresso martini which was exceptional and had was a twist to the traditional recipe. Loved it! A gem of a place in the village! I don't live local anymore, but I'd be back for sure. Lunchtime deals and great staff. It's nice to see a variety of veggie/vegan options too.

We were due to visit for my son’s birthday in August but sadly never made it as my husband took ill outside the restaurant & went away in an ambulance for a 3 day hospital stay, all he went on about was not getting his burrito! We were invited back by Pino Loca and they treated us like royalty, they are the kindest most caring team! The food was incredible, cocktails are amazing & they’ve got the.vive spot on! Our lads are regulars to both the restaurant & it’s takeaway Poco Loco. You’d be mad not to visit & can honestly say they deserve every penny spent in their business! Thanks again guys, you’re the best & we’ll see you again soon, Lucy & Kev :) xx

The food is absolutely amazing cooked fresh tastes unreal

We visited Pina Loco for what we thought would be a light lunch, it was an all male affair with my Father-In-Law who is in his eighties and has the appetite of a budgie, my Son who is thirty and has a great appetite and myself who can also eat a fair bit. We all chose the same dishes from the small plates menu and took advantage of the early bird offer which was for three plates for £16.50 with a side of chips to share. Dish 1; mango habanero wings which were our favourite, there were about five full wings per plate, they were very messy but beautiful. Dish 2; papadilas which contained cheese and potato amongst other ingredients, there were two of these and they were very tasty too. Dish 3; quesa tacos birria which contained braised beef. These were very rich, very tasty but very rich and there were three of these. The “small” plates are indeed small but the food is plentiful, I wouldn’t dine here on a first date as the food is very messy to eat but you will enjoy it. The waiter talked us through the menu when we arrived, looked after us very well and the service was very laid back and informal. We will definitely return (in fact my Son has)

Just been with friends for a meal there. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and the cocktails (alcoholic and non alcoholic) are very nice. We're already planning our next trip back next month and I think we'll be starving ourselves so we can eat more next time.

First visit here today for lunch and was fantastic, really warm and welcoming with friendly and helpful staff as it was my first time eating Mexican food. The food was really nice, we had the shared platter which was more than enough for 2.. I’d also recommend the pins colada which was unreal if cocktails are your thing. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

We stopped in here for an unplanned dinner with our five and one year old children on a Friday evening as we were in the area and had hungry kids. We called ahead to reserve a table. The welcome was lovely. The table had been set with the kids in mind; activities for them to be occupied with instantly. The kids menu is excellent! My five year old went for the kids make your own tacos and it came really quickly; she (unexpectedly) cleared the platter and really enjoyed making her own food. Extra nibbles came for the baby to keep him occupied too. Our meals were UNREAL. The food was so good. The service was also impeccable and the bill was so reasonable even with a service charge added on. We couldn’t have picked a better place to eat with our family. Highly recommend!!

What a little gem of a place this is. Foodnis top notch, place was packed on a Thirsday at 6pm and queues to come in too. Give it a try, the food is gorgeous.

We have been meaning to try Pina Loca for ages, and so glad we finally did! Pina Colada was delicious, as was all the food. Great veggie and vegan options, as well as plenty of choice for carnivores. Atmosphere lovely and the staff were superb. Can't wait to go back.

I go to Pina quite often, firstly because their staff is absolutely amazing and the owner really cares and you can feel it. Secondly they have some of the best cocktails and food. I would say some of the top or high end restaurants in Liverpool don’t even come close. Wings are great, corn ribs, tacos are awesome as well as burritos. I recommend everything but some go-to drinks are the fire margarita, Mexican garden and they do really great espresso martinis. BTW they have a newer takeaway spot right across the road called poco loco if you feel like a night in. I had them cater my for my office at work 👍 Great atmosphere

We regularly go here. Food and service is always excellent. We were there last night and was a bit disappointed as cubano burrito is no longer on the menu. Such a shame if you are able to get the ingredients again please can you put it back on the menu. We did have a great night thank you.

Was staying nearby and booked a table online after reading the great reviews. Loved the restaurant, staff were really friendly, attentive and helpful. We shared a platter which had an ample amount of food for two. The mango wings were amazing and the beef burrito really tender. Nachos and corn ribs also delicious! Delighted with what we chose. We then shared cheesecake which was also lovely. And the cocktails - wow, amazing! Good value for money for such high quality food and drink, we will definitely return if back in the area. Table was clean and set out with plenty of space for a large booking. And the high chair was already there waiting which was really helpful. The drawing pad for children was a really lovely touch to keep them entertained. Staff were so friendly and happy to continually wave to our 1 year old daughter every time they walked past our table (thank you) Service was really quick and food delicious. We had never visited before but would definitely come back again!

I came here last night with my 2 friends, the food was amazing and the cocktails also amazing and the guy that worked there who advised us on drinks and food very helpful, I would highly recommend this place :)

The food was excellent, cocktails excellent and good value, service great and so was the venue. We were sat on the large table, sharing it with another separate group - through possibly no fault of his own, one member of the group was rambling very loudly throughout which travelled across the table and made our conversations difficult, the group also had multiple soiled napkins piled on table which I had to try hard not to look at to put me off my food. Groups are entitled to act and behave how they want but the sharing of the table made the sound travel and the dirty napkins encroach on us. I feel really bad leaving this review as we booked a table quite late and were so happy to have been allocated a table. Maybe a more substantial barrier would be good for when the large table is shared between different groups?

First time visiting last night and Wow. Food was delicious. Staff exceptional even though they were so busy. Friendly, attentive and even though we didn't notice there was a slight wait on the food, they brought complimentary nachos while we waited. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend 👌

The perfect place to celebrate with the whole family….and the dog 🐶👌🏼 all the staff are wonderful and could not do enough for us - thank you especially to Eddie & Abby, and the food was beautiful, cooked to perfection. We had the large sharing platters and some extras - the cauli wings are still my absolute favourite. Had a great time celebrating a family birthday. Food was very nice. We pre-ordered as a large group so maybe next time would like to look at menu properly. We sat upstairs so away from rest of the diners but place looked busy. Cocktails were fire! Service was impeccable 👌.

Because of my love for Mexican food I’d been looking forward to visiting since it opened, I don’t know why it took me so long ! The restaurant is small but not overcrowded and well decorated. The staff are lovely and helpful and I couldn’t fault the service. The menu was mouthwatering and corona on draught (which is a plus 👌) Starters were perfect Mains were great too but my bowl didn’t contain a great deal of chicken but was really tasty and I did leave full.(mainly because the starter was substantial. ) My husband’s burrito was packed out with fries so he was a little disappointed as he’d never had fries in a burrito before. (This may have been mentioned In the menu and if he’d read this he may have made another decision.) On the whole we had a lovely eve here and would definitely return in the future. Food was beautifully presented and tasty. This restaurant is a little gem and a welcome plus to the area.

The best restaurant in this part of the Wirral, by far. The food is delicious with beautiful flavours and quite obviously quality ingredients. The cocktails are very good and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself is vey tasteful with a really nice vibe about it. There is also an upstairs space which I believe you can hire for small parties.

Best service anywhere we’ve been locally - really warm and friendly to us and our toddler, very knowledgeable about the menu/ingredients and all the little things like staff smiling when you walk past them that just make you feel really welcome. Food was great, my fave was the butternut squash tostada - really pretty as well as delicious. Great range of soft drinks as well as the cocktails. Catered well to a milk allergy and lots of variety on the menu. We went for an early lunch so it was quieter than usual but it’s such a cosy place it didn’t affect the atmosphere. Can’t wait to try the take away now!

By FAR one of the best restaurants on the Wirral. I honestly cannot fault it. Amazing staff, amazing food and drinks. The tacos are absolutely to die for. Staff can’t do enough to help you and the service is just spot on. I’m so glad the business is doing well. Keep smashing it👏

This was the second time we've been but we didn't recall just how good/ authentic/ layered the flavours were. There was an American Mexican-food lover in our party and they were very happy. The menu was explained with the portion size and we liked that . We went with the luncheon special of three plates (of two tacos each) of fish, pork and chicken. This was enough and (for us) we only needed a light tea that night. The fish tacos were crispy and lightly battered but with a nice amount of Mexican seasoning and the pulled pork was amazing -marinated, seasoned, with Mexican pink pickled onions. Chicken was amazing as well -the favourite of my partner. Will definitely visit again.

Had a last minute meal for 2 on a Saturday- amazing cocktails, really tasty, fresh food and friendly staff. Great local place, will return.

I often say this is the best place to have "happened" to Bromborough, finally bringing delicious food, cold Corona and evening vibes to an otherwise very quiet and socially stagnant village. Come here if you want a variety of tasty foods, a pleasant evening atmosphere, and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Best Mexican on Wirral by far. Love the tacos here, as you'd expect, but absolutely do not sleep on the mango habanero wings. Top stuff.

Staff were great, made us feel very welcome. Nachos to start were delicious. Main meal.pork burrito was very tasty. Not so fussed on the beef soft taco, but it looked good. Lemon beer made a great drink for a hot summer night. We will be back, but I won't be having the beef taco :)

Place is lovely, staff are fantastic, service is brilliant BUT the food could be so much better. Crispy Sticky mango chicken - great portion size and lovely tender chicken but smothered in too much tangy sauce. Not at all crispy. Chips are microwave soft and lukewarm. Corn riblets same flavour as chicken. All in all the same flavours. 😞

Last minute booking based on a few recommendations and didn’t disappoint. Lovely welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Chose the sharing platter which gave a great taster of a few things on the menu…the burrito especially was delicious! Will definitely be back to try the tacos!

Not sure how and why we’ve never been here before?! Popped in for lunch and shared 3 tacos and a burrito between 2, everything was exceptional but we really enjoyed the burrito (we had the beef and instead of rice it had cheesy chips!) lovely little local gem. Will definitely be returning

My partner and I visit Pina Loca every now and then for a local day or night out. The owners and staff always make us feel right at home. The cocktails are INCREDIBLE - best ever. And the food is also fantastic, with a portion size that is great for sharing a few plates between the table. Our favourites include the barbacoa, pollo asada and Baja fish tacos, bufalo cauli wings and mango habenero wings (but everything is good). So great to have such a gem in Bromborough! We'll be back again soon 🧆🌮🌯🍸🍹

Absolutely 10/10 food. Went yesterday for the first time and already can't wait to go again.

Really want to like it in here but it is very average and expensive for what you get. Staff are lovely but service is extremely slow. Had to wait half an hour for first drink to arrive after ordering. Food was slow and ordered another drink when that arrived, we finished our food and still no sign of drinks. The staff fair dos came over and apologised he had forgotten to make them. Food was ok nothing special, had burritos which were a bit basic for the price and quite small. Been here a couple of times now since they opened and always feel a bit underwhelmed especially when there are nicer restaurants like Rokka and The Turkish BBQ nearby. Would come again for drinks as the cocktails are nice but wouldn’t bother again for food sadly. Decor is lovely, staff are friendly, it’s always busy in there and there’s lots of good reviews but it’s just not for us unfortunately.

First and certainly not our last visit to Pina Loca. The food was amazing as were the non alcoholic cocktails service was super friendly and not in your face very chilled atmosphere and good music highly recommend very good value for money.
