Piccolo's in Sheffield

I was curious because it was always busy, but I finally visited. I really enjoyed the meal. They were very friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. I want to visit again.

Been here twice and I loved it both times! Will be coming back

Great place for private parties

First visit, no doubt we will be returning frequently. The customer service from all staff was absolutely exceptional, first of all. We came in for a very last minute walk-in and the food was sublime. The staff truly go the extra mile. By FAR the best dining experience I’ve had.

This little gem of an Italian restaurant deserves top ratings. From friendly staff, great food and relaxed atmosphere, it’s so nice to find a truly independent, quality place to eat. Best risotto I have tasted, and good wine! It’s the sort of restaurant that is getting harder to find. We’ll be back!

We visited for my husbands 50th birthday and we all had a brilliant night,the food was amazing and the staff are so friendly and make sure you're looked after,the atmosphere is very relaxed, its the perfect place for couples and families to have a nice meal out together.It's a little bit on the expensive side but I've got to say it's well worth it

We popped in without a reservation but they managed to accommodate us! Everything we got was delicious and we loved every detail. The garlic bread was my favourite! My husband loved the lasagne, very creamy and cheesy.. The dessert was amazing, unlike any other cheese cake we’d had before!

It was overall quite nice. I didn't enjoy my main, it just wasn't to my taste. Not a bad experience, just average.

I ordered lasagna for the first time in piccolos today, but it's too creamy for me. When the blonde haired waitress asked me how's it, I said that it was too creamy to my taste. But only to me doesn't mean it's bad. Before I finished talking, she shouted at me very angrily, "if you don't like Lasagna then why did you order lasagna?" Every lasagna I had in other restaurants was good. I said it's my first time to order it here. She still stressed that it's my fault. The owner replied me but the previous negative comment was removed by them. Here is the picture of owners comment, and the truth is we paid all dishes which can be checked on my bank. You can see the owner kept saying it's my mistake and do not agree that everyone has different taste. I feel if you can't accept customers reviews and improve yourself, please don't ask if they like the food. You should accept the diversity of customers flavor and respect all customers.

The staff went above and beyond to fit us in as we had not pre booked, we were so grateful and genuinely lost count how many others were turned away as they were so busy. There were no pitfalls in the blind selection of dishes, especially the recommended desserts which were very delicious and the store staff were also very enthusiastic. On my birthday, they even sang happy birthday to me! ! ! All in all a very pleasant dining experience❤️❤️❤️

Accommodated us for a birthday reservation as a party of 4 at less than 24 hour notice on a busy Saturday night - the restaurant is quite small inside so this was appreciated. Food was lovely and quick to come out, both starters and mains (we were too full for desert) and the service was great and very attentive. Ordered garlic prawns for starter and then creamy chicken main with vegetables, chips on the side. Others got gnocchi starter (best dish on our table), bruschetta and mains salmon and a pasta, all were enjoyed. One very small criticism is that for the chicken dishes the chips/potatoes would have been preferred to be presented on the side instead of underneath the sauce, as it made these elements soggy. We will be back if we fancy Italian in Sheffield City Centre.

I first visited Piccolo's a few weeks after they opened in 1998 whilst at university and despite moving away from Sheffield have returned many times over the years introducing as many of my family and friends as possible to this delightful family run italian restaurant. We are always greeted as old friends and looked after as attentively as you might expect in a fine dining Michelin starred establishment. Often when you hear that a place has barely changed in 25 years you would think that was a bad thing but in this case it's a huge recommendation. There have been changes to the menu but the food remains excellent, their garlic bread is appropriately described as award winning. My personal favourite is the Pollo gambaretti, (something I've tried to replicate at home) and their steak dishes are delicious- something I wouldn't take for granted in more budget friendly restaurants Thoroughly recommend, can't wait for the next opportunity to pay then a visit.

Excellent service, friend staff and well run restaurant checking if you want starters, extras deserts and more drinks etc. But the food was disappointing. I had a pizza but it was a ready made base - perfectly round and with those perfectly aligned air holes in the bottom. Toppings weren’t much better and it wasn’t even very big I could hardly finish it. £17 and £6 for a pint of coke I think it was?!

My new favourite restaurant! The restaurant had such a comforting and friendly atmosphere. The staff are amazing, so lovely and attentive. The food was delicious and was served quickly. We tried the tiramisu and the crème brûlée; both were homemade and again delicious! Can't rate this place highly enough. We hope to be back again soon!

7 of us went on a Tuesday early evening. Not one of us had anything negative to say about any part of our time here. The food was absolutely delicious, including the starters and desserts… mother in law said it was the best lasagne she’s ever had, kids had pasta (one spicy tomato and one carbonara) both loved it! One of us had a pizza and the rest of us had pollo picante with different sides - honestly the nicest Italian we’ve had in forever. The food in Limone, Lake Garda doesn’t come close to Sheffields Piccolos! The restaurant has a very homely and welcoming atmosphere, and our waitress Justine was so friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to the chefs and Justine - we had a brilliant evening here and we’re very grateful xx

Small cozy restaurant in the center of Sheffield. We had the bruschetta as a starter. They are good but it is absolutely not the classic Italian bruschetta. It's more of a big pizza £.8. Then pasta which was good. We asked for them Al dente and we received them as requested £16pp. We drank water, we didn't want wine (we were asked twice). Total for two £56

I really recommend this place. We had a great dinner here and the service was really good. If you want to have an italian evening in Sheffield, this is the place to be.

Food beautiful, the Linguine Frutti Di mare was particularly delicious, every bite there are sea food, and not your usual boring selection, this one had a lot of variety of sea fruit, the way is supposed to be, spicy to the point and proper al dente pasta. On top of that, staff has had beautiful smiles, gentle and caring. First time in Sheffield, loved the hospitality.

Nothing like it used to be. Not been for a few years, and won’t be going back. My Food was mediocre. My partner received wrong meal, waitress blamed us for ordering wrong, which I know for a fact what we ordered. Bad service.

Everyone has been recommending it as a delicious restaurant. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I personally think the main meal is okay, but I don’t like the sauce next to the fish at all. There is nothing special about the other main meal. The only good thing is probably the appetizer. The pizza also comes with free chocolates after checkout, but the service staff is very kind and enthusiastic.

An absolute gem tucked away in the heart of Sheffield. Incredible authentic home made Italian food. We tried the vegetarian pasta, salmon pasta and the vegetarian Calzone; every spoon was a delight. Justyne (hopefully I have spelt her name correctly), together with the rest of the team were delightful hosts. It was our first visit, but won't be our last!

Been going to piccolos since2004, meals have always been 100%. Been tonight and they have surpassed themselves, absolutely beautiful meal the best sea bass ever. The staff are so friendly and that has never changed. I highly recommend piccolo’s. I can’t say enough good things about them.

I’ll recommend this Italian restaurant for everyone! I love the rose wine called “kissing tree…”, the risotto is creamy which is my favourite, patacota (I’m not sure if the spelling is correct) is like a pudding with ice cream, it’s really really really good!!!

I’ve been here twice, and the service is great. My first experience was amazing, we ordered the bread for starters. Then for the main we got the Margherita pizza, one of the cream pastas and a Risotto. We also tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. They were all tasty, but the pasta and the panna cotta are definitely the highlights of the day - definitely worth getting. The second time I went was a bit of a let down. I ordered the garlic mushrooms as a starter, and it was just ok. The pasta was a massive disappointment. It was a seafood pasta and the only fresh tasting seafood in the pasta was the squid, and there was barely any in the dish. The pasta to seafood ratio was imbalanced. The mussels were the worst part - they tasted horrible, and the sauce was watery and bland. Thankfully though, the meal ended on a positive note. I reordered the panna cotta I had last time and it’s still as nice as I first had it. Overall, I think this place is decent. Quite pricey, and the menu items are a hit or miss. Also, just being picky on my end, but I wished the waiters pushed the bread a little less because they asked me 5 times. Still a place worth trying imo.

It wasn’t my first time. The food was really good. Actually, it was perfect (the truffle risotto was amazing) must try. The staff is amazing we celebrated our friends’ engagement and it was nice the only thing I didn’t like is they don’t have alcohol free flavored beer but other than this everything was amazing.

First word I can think of is 'authentic'. Went for a works do and loved every bit. Food was fresh, hot and flavourful, staff were immeasurably attentive and everything was served quickly. Couldn't want for more.

Wish I went sooner. Amazing food!! Great and friendly hosts I hope one day soon they do delivery so I can get from here more often.

A first ever visit to the restaurant last night and wow .. if you haven’t yet been, I strongly recommend, this little gem in sheffield has now become a firm favourite. A cute and cosy place to eat, great calm atmosphere and wonderful and I mean gorgeously beautiful food. However what stood out to us more than anything was the service. I had forgotten what amazing service was like! The staff are so helpful and friendly. Our waitress (blond haired lady I sadly forgot to get her name) was by far the most amazing waitress I think I have ever had. She made our entire night Cannot recommend enough, just try it, you will completely understand what I mean x enjoy

Having a dinner at the Piccolo’s was a multi sensory experience. The flavor and texture of food ingredients formed an elegant harmony with the environment of the restaurant. My first impression of the Piccolo’s was the movie Godfather. A very good place to having a dinner with families or friends.

Arrived without a booking but it was no problem to rearrange some tables to accommodate the four of us. Good friendly service, knowledgeable about the food and drink and didn't rush us. Fantastic tasty food each course which I thoughourgly recommend.

Our food was perfectly OK. The best dish was the sharing starter, however this was accidentally dropped on our table. Whilst waiting for a table initially a waiter accidentally threw a support our way hitting one of our party and whilst clearing away somethings were dropped right behind us scaring me to death! 🤪 The waiters were nice enough, but it took the edge off. Finally there were a few deserts not available so left slightly disgruntled.

Genuine Italian food. Family owned and run restaurant. Lovely.

Went there last night, waited 45 mins for starters as did the table at our side. We all left with no main meal. Normally this has been a nice restaurant but this was our first night out in two years and my advice is DON’T sit upstairs as you get ignored.
