Pho in Birmingham

I was served by Aaron, who was really friendly, helpful and attentive, he asked me if I had any allergies, and he made me feel very comfortable a relaxed.

The beef brisket noodle soup always hits the spot. I’d highly recommend the dish. It’s warm, filling and worth the price. It’s slightly hard getting staff’s attention - they notice eventually. If you’re considering going to Pho, just go!

I really like their restaurant, but it was very crowded on Saturday. Service is literally zero. Can all service staff wear uniform clothes? All the waiters are wearing their own casual clothes, you can't tell who is the waiter and who is the customer. The order in the store is zero. You can't find anyone to order. No one will give you water. Even if you order water, you have to push several times to get it. At the end of the check, you still have to pay a service fee. Although the machine says that you can find a waiter to get rid of the service fee, the funny thing is that you can’t find the waiter at all.

Delicious food, first time trying pho and it did not disappoint! Helen was amazing and recommended a delicious white wine that’s now my absolute favourite

The food was great. The portion sizes here are more than the Pho in Nottingham (sorry, not sorry). Very fast service and the food was banging! There is a person on shift that reminds me of Frank ocean. He was very friendly and bubbly all he did was serve us the food but form our interaction with him we can tell he’s a great worker. The lady who sat us down and the lady who took our orders are also very warm and welcoming. Great lighting, great music overall a fantastic experience. I would highlight recommend!

I came in for a birthday lunch with my mom a little while back. The food was lovely and so many gluten free options. Stephan looked after us and was great! Listened to what kind of thing we were looking for and gave great recommendations based on this. Really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

I wish I could give you no star at all. The food is terrible and you claim to be Vietnamese food? Don’t call yourself a Vietnamese restaurant if you couldn’t even cook the dish right. The soup was tasteless, there’s no seasoning, not a single familiar flavor I can find in your soup. Took my friend here thinking we could enjoy the food of my country, not necessarily to be exactly the same but at least it should be 70% similar but NO. It is terrible, totally embarrassing! I had the noodle soup once, it is terrible and i though to give it a chance with the Vermicelli Noodles and pork balls. The pork balls was seasoned disgustingly. The sauce was disappointing. It was soo bland and tasteless that I think you have mixed it with tap water or something. The bowl is hideous. There’s more vegs in my bowl than in The Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Very filling and large portions! We were seated quickly but waiting approx 15 mins to order our food, however, that wasn’t really a problem. Food was piping hot, fresh and tasty. Will be back regularly. I especially enjoyed the spicy pho broth!

Very tasty food and friendly customer service. I have visited four times and have only ever had positive experiences. Food probably takes around 10-15 minutes to arrive. My personal favourite is the spicy tofu curry. The fresh juice drinks are spectacular, and the fresh lemongrass tea is refreshing and good value. Helen is particularly friendly and helpful! She gave my elderly grandmother extra utensils without her needing to ask, which was very thoughtful! A pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

Very good service and the food was delicious

Very good Vietnamese food, large portions, taste authentic, but meat quality not very good. We had beef noodle, which the beef could have cut thinner for easy chewing. Brisket was also not tender. But curry tasted good. The cold rice noodles bowl tasted good but might not have been very clean as it gave some digestion issues afterwards. Prices might appear low but service charge is put on top of the bill at the end.

She was very attentive and gave me lot of recommendations for me and my family. The baby squid is to DIE for!!! Would recommend to anyone that wants to have a very good dining experience. went to order a bowl of pho for takeout on a quiet evening and ended up waiting half an hour, no one bothered to ask if i was waiting for my order despite me seeing me stood at the front.

HOA was a really attentive waitress, thankyou Hoa for such great service.

We got there changing trains to the airport. We tried two different options of pho soup. Both were delicious, very essential. Thanks to the served additions, you can adjust the taste of the soup exactly to your taste. The spring rolls with peanut sauce were also delicious and disappeared very quickly. I recommend!

Pho is a traditional establishment that prides itself on authentic Vietnamese flavours and dishes. No detail is overlooked right from the bountiful range of herbs in their salads such as perilla and mint, and their set-table condiments such as pickled garlic and red chilli. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee to start; the rich roasted flavour paired with the sweet condensed milk made for a lovely pallet cleanser and readied the appetite for more. The vegetable spring rolls were beautifully crisp with a moist interior, the flavours of the vegetables were enhanced with a little dip of the peanut sauce. Finally for the main course I had the chicken salad. The tender chicken pieces melted in the mouth, the sliced cucumber and radish added a crunch and if you’re a spice lover there was plenty of sliced red chilli as a topping. I have to additionally mention the speedy and friendly service. All staff on hand were all eager to suggest food items, provide anything else for the table in a swift manner, and we’re happy to demonstrate how to prepare your food the Vietnamese way (this was done with the coffee- simply marvellous). The restaurant itself is in a busy upper part of grand central so naturally it does get a noisy and the rear seating arrangements, particularly the booths, are a tad hard on the back, but nothing a little adjustment can’t fix. Overall I would recommend Pho to anyone looking for a healthy lunch options, interested in authentic dishes, or simply looking for something new. I look forward to returning to Birmingham and you can guarantee Pho’s Coffee is on my list. - P.R
