PG Chips in Lisburn

Great service, friendly staff. Went on a Saturday night, the staff were busy so you expect to wait a while but it was worth the wait. Big portions and tasted great.

I ordered online at Cohannon shop at 6.30pm, (4 pizzas / 2 chips) was given collection time of 7.10pm. Paid for order in shop at 7.15pm after waiting for about 5 minutes for someone to come to the till! After checking, the young female worker advised that they were waiting on one more pizza. I was standing so long I actually began to feel lightheaded. Eventually I went to a more senior (in age). Staff member, asking what was going on with my order. She responded there was some problem with the pizza oven, (funny how every other customer seemed to get their pizzas no problem!!!) finally after a few seconds I was given my order at 7.25pm. That’s not the best of it!!! When we arrived home, we discovered one of the pizzas had incorrect toppings!!!! Absolutely atrocious service and staff don’t seem to care about the customer. Definitely gone downhill

Bought a cod in Omagh PG CHIPS. it was swimming in grease 5.90 and not a single chip with it wont be back

Can’t believe if was in Hillsborough pg chips and person making up orders continually licked fingers to help separate wrapping paper - no concern for hygiene in normal times but how unbelievable and dangerous with COVID 19 around and so easily transmitted !! Get a grip pg chips

Very convenient to order by phone and pick-up. Order was ready on time. Very good curry chips and chiken nuggets.

Ordered several meals for a family and all were very poor- greasy, careless and poorly cooked. The fish batter was an awful soggy mess and the fish itself dry and over cooked. We had some fabulous carry outs just at the end of lockdown but sadly that’s not the case anymore.

The meat in here is very good (well cooked and has good quality) definitely OK to eat out of but the chips cam be a little dry and always check your order as sometimes they get it wrong but overall would recommend and their hygiene is great

What can I say-with not being a massive chip lover because of grease. These chips have a dry flavour and texture and are amazing and no grease. Don’t stick together. Bit of garlic pepper- total heaven ! Well done PG!

We loved having PG chips across from our AIRBNB! Tasty offerings and quick service. Parking is tough on Lisburn St so we were glad we could walk!

Stopped by to grab some food for my wife and 4 year old. Attitude of the Staff made me feel uneasy..cold..no smiles..looks like they hate their job. Food was average too. Thankfully I dont pass this way too often...but if I do..wont be stopping here again.

Ordered sausages for my baby and they were very salted with vinegar when I said none after being asked if I wanted them, chips were awful greasy, it was terrible

My family and I have used PG Chips Hillsborough for some time now but over the last few months it has went badly downhill. The fish on the last couple of occasions has been disgusting - mostly batter, and the little bit of fish found on it, has been tough and stringy. I've also had parts of the order missing, and on my last visit, waited for 30 mins for a kids sausage supper and curry chip. It would have been quicker popping into the hillside and ordering a meal in there. Needless to say I won't be back again.

Went to Richill Pg chips and ordered a steak Kebab in pitta bread. (See picture) Got a empty box. You can only leave a review here for Paul has turned reviews off on Facebook. Out of Paul’s own mouth when I meet up with him 15 days later he said. I can’t have people talk about my business and saying what they like!!! TAKES YOUR MONEY NOT YOUR COMPLAINT

Was working in the area and the smell from the shop managed to entice me in.. I wish it hadn't... the two girls behind the till made no effort to greet me with a smile they were more worried about their conversation about something they'd seen on Facebook (surprise)... I ordered the 2 piece snack box with came with chips. A reasonable price of 2.99, unfortunately this is the only bonus I can take from my trip here... the chips that I managed to find in the box with any sort of potato on them when squeezed where riddled in oil, the rest of the chips where ends and what looked like last week's chips just reheated.. the 2 pieces of southern fried chicken again soaked in oil and Just horrible to eat... AVOID AT ALL COSTS...

We have used pg chips since it first opened and unfortunately the other recent poor reviews are spot on . The chips are over cooked, full of little bits and the other food is also dry and over cooked. Very unappetising food which mostly ended up in the bin. I will travel into Lisburn in future rather than use PG chips again.

Just brought home 4 dinners from here total cost £20.10I opened my box to find a burnt thin looking fish when I cut into it there was little or no fish!. Then the chips in the other dishes were over cooked!!!!. And full of bits rather than full length chips.. really disappointed with this. After a very long day all we wanted was to sit down with a treat and enjoy!. P&G Chips Hillsborough ypu should be totally ashamed!.

As a family we have been customers of this place fairly regularly since it opened. I am only compelled now to write a review as we have noticed in recent months that the quality of food seems to be deteriorating rapidly unfortunately. We usually visit on a Friday evening & most recent Friday visits have resulted in chips that appear to have been refried about 6 times to the point where they are hard & dry. The fish is either overcooked or undercooked & last week my husband ended up with a bad stomach after eating his fish. Strangely, on the odd occasion we have visited on a different week night, the overall quality has been much better. The prices do not represent value for money but as its the only chippy in the village (apart from The Happy Chef lorry which produces raw & undercooked chips) they can name their price! We won't be going back anymore I'm afraid as last night's food was barely edible - going to try the new Indian that has opened instead. Sorry PG - but unless there is a radical improvement, we won't be coming back!

Great food and a good price ! Cant ask for much more from a fish and chip shop ... the Irish equivalent to Ronald McDonald

We get our work lunch here regularly. Does good burgers and the lunch time specials are good value for money. Have only had one bad lunch and it was because the cheese was slightly off but any other times it’s been fine.

Family fancied chips following a lengthy trip home so visited PG chips.

Called into PG Chips in Moira lastnight and was shocked at the customer service. There was one customer in the shop and I stood for 5 minutes. One girl behind the counter who eventually acknowledged I was there and said I'll be with you in a minute. She continued to chat to the other customer, moaning about working a 12 hour shift on a bank holiday whilst other staff were given the day off, complaining about not liking other staff members and how one in particular has been there for three weeks and every day is like day one for her. The phone then rang and another girl came out from behind, took an order, put a burger on the fryer and then we t out the back again, all whilst I stood there without having given my order.

Ordered 2 fish supers in Hillsbrough shop, it was not busy but they made a mistake with the order they changed it to the correct order, brought it home to find the worst fish and chips We have ever had, fish under cooked with soggy batter and also greasy chips, sorry but will not be back !

I put very good because no option for good.

When this place opened, fish was excellent with lovely chips and great burgers. A few months later and the fish has shrunk in size and was overcooked. Chips smaller, harder and go good for a chip butty. Burgers well you get the gist! Promising start but now avoid at all costs. DISAPPOINTING

I have used the PG chips app a few times which is really good. I ordered last night but was very disappointed with the fish and chips. It was quite simply cold. When I went into shop it was sitting on side. Won’t be back.

Got hotdog with onions, sausage supper and portion onion rings with family. Service took forever, hotdog cold, soggy and tastless, more batter than onion in onion rings and dont know what oil is used or how often it is changed but now ten in the evening and i can still taste it. The week before got chicken burger and felt ill all weekend so wonder now if that was the cause, Take no pleasure in giving any business bad rating but will definetly have to up their game, ontil then i will be giving it a miss.

This place really bad not given right food also the time it took was ridiculous I rang order in so it would be ready told it would take 15 mins so when I went to collect 15 mins later I stood for another 30 mins waiting so 45 minutes in total hardly fast food terrible won’t be back.

The chicken curry meal with onions is unreal. My husband orders the chicken burger and chips. Top quality meat is used.

Chips and popcorn chicken is delicious! Some of the best chips I've ever had. Service was good too. And at a good price.

It was actually the PGChips in Moira I'm writing about but my last couple of carry outs from Hillsborough were awful. Yesterday in Moira I ordered a quarter pound burger and portion of chips. The burger was delicious but oh my the chips were hard and disgusting ......i wouldn't even give them to my dog........come on P G Chips ......get your act together !!!

Was staying in Hillsborough for one night and seen this chippie so called in. Had never heard of it. My partner got a burger and I got the gujons. We both loved our meals. The chip portion was a bit on the small side but still loved it .

Called here in the evening as was hunger. Wish I did not as was literally the most disgusting food I have eat. And a have eat many insects in the past. Order a kebab and chips and curry. Was no curry left so got chips gravy and a couple of sausages.

Called in for a quick bite. Burger chip and drink. No issue with the food BUT at 12:30 I would have expected a fast turn around, not here. No other customers just me. Took forever. By the time I got my order I didn't have time to enjoy it.

Phoned x7 times and someone lifted the phone and put it down .. if your busy all you need to do is say.. you have just lost a customer for good!!

Was staying nearby and wanted a quick bite to eat. So I drove to pg chips and I was not disappointed I ordered the ribye burger with cheese and fryed onions and my partner got chicken goujons and we shared a chip. The only thing I'd say is that the chip portion could be bigger but we were still filled after and we both loved our meal..

A quick call to give our order, told ten minutes which was grand as we got into the car and paid. Our fish was big and cooked beautifully, their chips are the best we've had in the area and will certainly return. Their lunchtime specials are super value for money!!

We waited a long time to get a chippy in Hillsborough that wasn't a mobile feast, and it's proved a winner. Really great chips, and Irish cod always cooked to perfection in a tasty, crisp batter without the slimy undercoat that often plagues such delights. Happy days...

PG Chips is a Fish and Chip shop. It is meant to serve decent fish and chips. This is a basic thing that any such place needs to get right. It can't be that hard to just make decent fish and chips? Unfortunately on the one occasion when I felt like an easy night off, and a simple takeaway, this establishment failed to deliver. The fish was dry and overdone, and the chips were just average at best. My wife and I didn't finish either piece of fish, and threw half the chips away. On the plus side, the place looks clean as a whistle inside, but the staff seemed disinterested and just going through the motions. Granted it maybe can't be easy to appear upbeat when serving the same items over and over, and maybe the staff were having an off day, but still. Would I go back? That's the acid test with any eatery, and the answer is a sad 'No'.

Chips full of small hard pieces and overdone. Even mentioned this when giving order but still poor when served. Burgers overdone and chicken dry - the quality of the food has really deteriorated from the early days of opening.

Good value lunch time deals, tasty enough for a take away. Chips are pretty good. I usually place a phone order and some staff can be a bit rude.

Chicken and chips was ok along with some curry sauce. Not the best chippy in the world but definitely not the worst. Kids always enjoy it and it seems ok value.

Took a very long time to be ready but we didn't mind too much as we were chatting. None of the staff cracked a smile....... However, upon eating them.....the chips were very dry and the fish was 70% batter. Wouldn't bother.

Called for quick carryout supper. Although only customer, seemed to take an age. Portion size tiny for price, although tasted OK. Would think carefully before returning.

This is the excuse I got for a fish tonight form P G Chips - at least 2 thirds was batter!! How did the staff not notice? I can't see me going back again.

I phone my order thru as it is usually busy, so my order is always ready when I arrive, good varied menu at average prices but the food is lovely, shop very clean and staff friendly... Worth a visit..

I took some time for Hillsborough to have a fast food takeaway/ chip shop (other that the chip van of course) and this place is a welcome addition for residents of the village.
