Persepolis Restaurant in Southwark

Los anfitriones más encantadores y la comida es espectacular! Las setas, los colirrabis, el halloumi y el plato de mezze fueron realmente increíbles y sin duda volveré!

Recuerdo que la primera vez que fui a Persépolis la comida estaba fuera de este mundo, era tan deliciosa. Sin embargo, las dos últimas veces que he ido me ha resultado abrumador, e incluso malo. El falafel estaba tan frito y viejo que solo sabe a aceite rancio crujiente con pan que no sabe fresco. También creo que el meze es caro por lo que es, Pedí el gordito que era solo pan frito, muy seco sin salsa, unos garbanzos perdidos muy secos. El gordito, la forma en que lo he comido en otros restaurantes persas y de Oriente Medio está empapado de garbanzos y hummus, salsas tahini y especias. Estoy muy decepcionado y no pienso volver.

Gran banquete para una comida de cumpleaños. Si estás en grupo te sugiero que consigas los menús de banquetes. Siguen llevándote el menú más delicioso y variado para que ni siquiera tengas que pensar en pedir nada. Viene con una bebida y postre también. Uno de nuestros lugares favoritos en Peckham

We had the Mezze consisting of 6 plates, a mix of both vegan and vegetarian dishes. All were delicious and tasty. It did look small at first but once you got started it was more than enough for lunch for two.

Sat for 15 minutes being ignored in a mostly-empty restaurant - two staff just chatting by the till, no drinks, no water, no cutlery - was given a menu when I came in and was sat and then absolutely nothing despite repeated attempts to try and get service. Left with nothing.

Had a wonderful dinner with my friend. We went for the tasting menu so huge variety of food, all delicious and excellent quality. Great way to try out a load of the menu. The sweets were maybe less impressive but still good. Oh also divine date milkshake, bit like a creamy chai latte. We had a table which was in the shop area which was cute, I think this was because there was work being done on the terrace. Service was flawless. It was around £30 each for the tasting menu including a drink and dessert. Would definitely return and choose from the regular menu. Lots of lovely food to choose from in the shop too.

We're so lucky to live within walking distance of this incredible cafe/shop. The food is always fresh and delicious plus the generous portions make it difficult to come away anything but stuffed with Persian fabness. This time we took a couple of family members who'd not been before and they were blown away by how good the food is. Five small plates between four of us was just right. The halloumi dishes (devilled or with sesame and honey) are both highly recommended as is the aubergine and yoghurt and the cheese and pickles flatbread but really everything is gorgeous. You can't ever go wrong at Persepolis apart from eat too much! It's expanded over the years from a shop with a couple of tables to a dining room plus a roof terrace (and still a wonderful shop) but the quality and quantity has never been compromised. All power to Sally and Mr Shopkeeper!

We had an extremely good experience here yesterday. We took our 2 adult sons out for Sunday lunch and will all be returning. We booked the table and when we arrived at 3.30, it was just as well as it was otherwise full. Great welcoming atmosphere, really friendly staff and good service. We had the sharing menu and the food was exceptional and just kept on coming. Incredible prices and flavours and all beautifully presented. The adjoining grocery shop was well stocked and very reasonably priced with all sorts of unusual spices and ingredients as well as take-away wraps and sweets.

We popped in on a Sunday evening and had the "just bring food" arrangement. Lovely owner served us delicious fresh vegetarian Persian food. We had to take the dessert home as everything was so generous and delicious. BYO was no problem as there was an off-licence very nearby. Also a good selection of grocery items.

I visited here one lunch time this week and immediately I was drawn to it. The menu was interesting, reasonably priced and I was looking forward to eating. At that point it was given knives and forks which had what looked to be limescale stains on them, and a teaspoon which frankly needed a good scouring and a polish. The transparent tea mug also looked scratched and dirty. The tea was nice, but I wondered whether I was drinking from something that had been cleaned properly. The food? Well, it was okay but it didn't taste that fresh. I had the meze platter for one. I had the feeling a lot of the various pastes on it has been in the fridge for a couple of days. It was edible though. For the money I paid I expected better to be honest. To top it off, I went to pay by card and was told that under £10 was cash only, but I could top it off to £10 for 'service'. Well, I did that, but I won't be going back in a hurry. Overall I felt that the place has some great ideas but is poorly executed due to basic oversights.

Order a beautiful hamper and some bits and bobs for an Iranian birthday, all arrived on time, and wonderful products that are hard to get elsewhere. Thanks very much

The food here is delicious, bursting with flavour and freshly made. When paying per head, the food never seems to end from hummus, falafel, and salads, to halloumi, 'meatballs' and flatbreads. This provides a real experience not many places offer with a lovely homely, welcoming atmosphere.

Good place for a hearty and tasty Persian meal in a carefully assembled mixture of speciality ethnic shop and amenable welcoming restaurant on a corner site with a lively street view.

good value pub grub - would recommend going with family for a big sunday lunch right after church. Falalfal is tasty.

It was a blessing to find this place. We came all the way from NORTH LONDON (N4!!) and didn’t know what to expect. But alas it was a treat. First off, BYOB.☑️ Secondly, two soft drinks included. What more what could you want? Oh yes - good food! Well, let me tell you, course after course of intriguing and flamboyant flavours. Coriander was omitted on request which was definitely appreciated by my beautiful and single friend who has an genetic aversion to the herb. The food was (almost) never-ending but eventually it did end. Much to our dismay!!! Wonderful from head to work to toe. Left saturated and deafened from the laughs of the good times had. Will be back.

What a great place to enjoy a meal with great surroundings. The meal we had was excellent and others within the restaurant were having as much enjoyment as we were by their expressions. Highly recommend.

A Peckham Institution is Persepolis, and with a small menu and attention to detail me and friend LOVED all the food we chose. It's not Indian-hot-spicy which is good if you are not used to that particular cuisine. The halloumi starter was small but perfect, with delicious cherry sauce. The cucumber drink was delicious and generous. The main course I felt was too big. It was absolutely scrumptious but too much for me. Some are suggesting the servings are too small. Maybe they were big/tall people and I am shorter/smaller. Horses for..... courses! I shall return with other friends and try different meals. Note this is a cafe set up but with beautifully cooked food. I recommend the books too!

Can't believe this place has so few reviews given it is a bit of a Peckham institution. Having lived in the area just over a year I finally got round to visiting and I plan to go again soon. As I was by myself I wasn't able to try the sharing menu which is what Sally the owner calls her 'showing off menu' a bit of everything by the sound of it. I will definitely be back to try it though on the basis of what I had this time. I started with a small portion of one of the mains of halloumi with honey and sesame. Followed by the non-meatballs, which ironically seemed very meaty and had a nice kick with superb fries and an even better dipping sauce. As I wanted to try dessert I took some of the main, home with me so I got to have the deliciously decadent flambeed bananas and dates with ice cream (portion easily big enough to share). Sally also describes Persepolis as dining in her living room with an adjacent shop, which if you really like her food she has at least 5 recipe books. This is not fancy but it is tasty and an absolute gem
