Perfect Spud in Southampton

The best baked spud shop in the world. Wish I could give more stars. I remember him opening & going in with my late wife, he remembered us from a previous place & knew what we were going to order. Chicken curry is legendary. 👌

when i went they ran out of potatoes. gave it 3 stars cos i blood love potatoes

Great food, strange they don't open on Friday & Saturday you'd think the busiest nights they'd make a fortune 😉

Lovely meals and atmosphere but this is a cash only service. If you didn't know that before you went you will have to go and find a cash machine, although there is one just a 100 metres up the road.

Have lived over this side of the water for a good 15 years. Always fancied trying this place and the other night I finally got the confidence to walk in and order. Easily one of the best jacket spuds I've had, a good sized portion for what you pay. I had the chilli with cheese, usually avoid chilli as I'm a wimp with spice but this was perfect. Will definitely be returning for another one soon 👌

So lucky to have this gem of a takeaway near to our house. The keep the menu simple and so excel in what they offer. The spud plus with beef bolognaise and sweetcorn is my favourite and would gladly have that at least weekly. If they opened at weekends and got themselves on Deliveroo they could make a fortune - but equally appreciate they clearly do well enough as it is and why overcomplicate a fantastic business!

Amazing, have eaten here for over 20 years. Chicken curry and Chips or Rice is my choice with a Cheesy garlic bread. The potatoes are a local favorite with many toppings to choose from and very reasonably priced.

Got food from here this evening for the first time in ages and was spot on. Boiling hot, everything tasted and felt fresh, specific requests were met, and the apple pie was to die for! Would defo come back and would defo recommend

Very Poor Customer Service. Ordered 2 x Cheese, Ham + Pineapple, requested if the pineapple could be replaced with sour cream - order accepted. Was then charged £7.60 per potato instead of £5.30, was told this is because the sour cream is extra. £4.60 for SOUR CREAM - more expensive than petrol !!! Overpriced for an average at best spud - Not so perfect :-(

The meal was good but £16 for 2 jacket potatoes and a garlic bread was a bit steep.

I've wanted to try perfect spud for a few years, I strolled passed today and thought I'll take a look at the menu in the window, the sign showed as open, I thought I might pick up a menu to take home to order our dinner this evening. A lady with brown hair, and leggings pulled the blind down in my face locked the door, and turned the sign round. It was like she saw me and took action. It didn't feel very welcoming, I only wanted a take away menu. Unlikely to be recommending anytime soon.

Basic but big menu to suit Every pocket, children's menu, large jacket potatoes with lots of home made fillings choices. Took us 15 minutes to get home, our jackets were still boiling hot. I will be going back again very soon. The place was clean, fast service, be aware CASH ONLY no delivers, closed on Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank holidays.

Was introduced by partner's family. Thought it was a bit odd getting a jacket potato as a takeaway but I can see why they rave about it. Food is amazing, no faff and the staff are friendly without the forced small talk you sometimes get in takeaways. My only qualm is the lack of plant-based/vegan-friendly options (other than plain beans).

Delicious food, who knew a potato could be so exciting! Wish they had a card machine though as I dont often have cash on me.

Always greeted with a smile and serve perfect spuds too. Loads of choice of fillings and potatos are tasty and loaded with toppings.

Fantastic food with a fantastic friendly service

Unfortunately service wasn’t great! However the food is good. The service when we first started going was great but the last couple of times there has been no manners and really didn’t hit expectations from previous visits. Shame but won’t be back!

Great place for a Great Spud, love it and its a nice change from other takeaways. Massive menu to chose from. The only bad think I can say about this place is that it would be nice of the people serving could smile every now and again and maybe make conversation whilst you wait. However in saying the above that just personal preference. The food is top notch
