Ordered for the 1st time won’t be ordering again. Most of the food ended up in the bin.

Been here a few times and food has always been good but really greasy today but edible but the staff were really rude and openly taked about you whist standing there and rude about people ordering over the phone I will definitely not use this place again which is a shame because the food is usually pretty good Customer service Training definitely needed

I ordered to large cod and chips this evening . My sons cod which was a large had been nuked ! Definitely wasn’t a fluffy meaty piece of fish . Skinny , very little fish Mostly batter . Nearly a tenner for this . Not worth it .

Used this fish and chip shop as a friend and I did a pottery class next door and fancied dinner we were thinking of going to a pub as we both live outside of town but the smell from Percy's was to good to resist! The lady who served us Rebecca was very warm, friend and helpful she provided us information and told us the best value for money which was very much appreciated. No food was wasted! It was delicious probably the best fish and chips I've had in ages I'm just gutted I don't live close but when visiting the Kraft shed I'll be back for sure! Really worth the visit. They also have fluent free and vegan options too.

Good modern little fish and chip shop much needed round hear! but recently iv found the chips to be not to nice, they taste very earthy and its been 3 times in a row now! The last time I went in, placed my order and 25mins later I was still sat there. I only realised when a man walked in and ordered the exact same thing as me, got his and left with his order within 10mins. Even though I was the only customer that had sat there for that long watching other people order and leave not one of the staff asked or questioned why I was sat there! it was as though they thought I was part of the furniture. I think maybe an older more mature staff member should be also be front of house not just youngsters who just aren't mature enough yet to notice or pick up on things like that yet.

Found this little hidden gem by accident and thought it was worth a visit as they do gluten free sausage in batter (if you’re gluten free, you’ll understand!) we were not disappointed. Lovely chips too were really nice, not greasy like others. Would recommend to anyone. Would have added a picture but was too hungry 😋

Been a while since we tried Percys under its new ownership. Better opening hours now. We have to say we were very impressed. We were put off before that the cod had skin on, but they provide both options, skin on or off. Batter was fantastic, light and crispy. Chips were very good. Both freshly cooked and piping hot. Highly recommended.

Shows the quality of food chips cold pie microwaved and still cold in the middle saveloys cold not even Luke warm fish platter not worth the money at all. I’m shocked really am as I’m 30 secs away. Defo will not be back at all Such a shame.

Walked up to the counter and was ignored by the lady on the other side. Decided to walk out after waiting to be acknowledged/looked at for 10 mins. Mrs went back later, fish was very good.

Very enjoyable cod & chips this evening. Fish was beautifully cooked with lovely crispy batter. Highly recommend.

Friendly service. Tastes nice. I ordered a medium cod and found it rather small (see photo and fork for scale). Small was on the menu, I wonder if I got that by mistake?

Amazing food. I wouldn't think many other competitors could beat this style. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was nice.

Smallest portions ever! Fish box - not in a box - 2-3 pieces with couple of rings. Not recommended.

Great Fish & Chips. Fantastic Scampi. Just unfortunately a few items were missing from the order.

Living locally I really want this place to succeed but my first experience isn’t positive. £3 for a large chips no bigger than a standard size is a rip off. And the chips must have been standing for a while because they were not fresh or crispy. I’ll try again but sorry to say my first experience was a poor one. Please prove me wrong Percy’s.

Great traditional fish and chips cooked the old way. You can even get a sensible portion of chips, I find you normally get too much and a cone of chips is plenty for me.

Food was good (maybe a tad too salty), but I wasn’t impressed with the fact they forgot to give me the 2 sachets of tartar sauce I ordered. Only realised it when I got home and just didn’t have the strength to go back.

This place is amazing something that has been missing from this end of town for ages.

We have been getting fish n chips from you for weeks,best around for weeks..what happened to the chips last night,they were the worst we have ever had..we all ended up frowning them all away.put us of ever returning

I have ordered from this place a few times now and have been impressed on each occasion. I have tried both a medium and large cod which were cooked fresh and to perfection leaving nothing left on my plate. The chips were also nice and went well with a fruity curry sauce. Another place I would recommend especially if local to the area. Will have to try something new from them next time.

The most inconsistent chippy. 3rd visit since opening now and only once have I been impressed. Understandably the 1st visit was a week after opening and we also went on a day when they were offering free chips due to running out on previous days. Having not purchased fish I wasn't entitled to the free chips which I completely understand, appreciate and wasn't expecting, so no issues there but the chips received were soggy and over powering with beef flavouring, the curry sauce also tasted like powder. Returning a couple of weeks to give the place a second chance due to hearing decent reviews from the neighbours, we gave this place a go mid-week and what a difference! Best fish (Cod) and chips I personally have ever had, beef dripping flavouring was superb and fish had a lovely light battered coating. Here's hoping for much more. Third visit tonight however was terrible, everything was just soggy, fish and chips were dripping in oil. Flavourless and just very disappointing. I can't understand how this place can be so inconsistent. Here's hoping for a better experience.

Nice to have a local chippy in the King's Reach area, spacious shop, attentive staff, fish and chips are fab, almost as good as my best ever (Chez Fred in Bournemouth) 😊👍👍

Have been a few times and it has never disappointed me,have tried the cod and chicken and both were really tasty the chips are to die for cooked in beef dripping. The staff are nice and friendly. Will definitely be using percys from now on

I have been really excited about going to this chippy and it would have got five stars from me had our food been hot. We live close so it was not that it took long to get home either. We ordered two cod and chips and a portion of chips and the food came out so fast so I can only assume it had been sitting in warmer and warmer not hot enough. Everything tasted lovely but I hate warm food, I want it hot. I loved the boxes and bags they are served in and portion sizes are fab. Mushy peas were yummy too.

Delicious batter, lovely fish and chips are great too. Reasonably priced and good portions. Great start For a new business so wishing the owners continuing success. As someone used to living in costal places previously, I really enjoyed Percy’s and shall be returning.

Very good chippie. Chips in beef fat were great. We also had rock eel and two regular sausages which were tasty. The curry sauce was like none we have had previously (in a good way!), fruity with a nice kick. Definitely found our new local chip shop!

Edit: Found the feedback of the owners to be rude and indicative of a complete lack of customer service. Most businesses who receive a less than positive review note comments and welcome customers back in the hopes that a more positive review can be left. Luckily Sheffs is still close by! Original: Yeah I wasn't overly impressed. Will stick with sheffs in town. Worth the 5 min drive.

I visited percys just before Christmas, as a new place I had heard mixed reviews from people on social media...I decided to visit and make my own mind up...well I wasn’t disappointed I decided to try the rock eel which was lovely, my dad had a medium cod and we shared a large chips between us, considering we both love our food we cleared the plates but were stuffed! The food being cooked in beef dripping gives the chips a lovely crunch and really makes percys stand out from other chippies. Great food, lovely shop inside and the stuff were really welcoming and friendly...they have only lost a star because my one very very small criticism would be the curry sauce is slightly on the thick side but the flavour is lovely...other than that a massive thumbs up, I will definitely return and I would highly recommend!

It's ok. Average fish and chips at an ok price.

Chips good and nice flavours as being cooked in beef dripping. Curry sauce was thick and a very strong flavour, not sure I would have this again. Small cod was a nice size and batter was light and crispy. Myself and my partner did not like the taste of the sausage and battered sausage. (Had a strange unusual taste).

Overall I think this is great and want to support it. But one thing put me off. Firstly, so happy that there's a local fish and chip shop in the area and it's great to see more independent businesses! The staff seem lovely, the shop looks very nice. Just one thing is that the fish and I believe everything by default is cooked in oil with beef drippings. I don't eat beef and this was not advertised so only learnt it after eating. After checking with them later, I've learnt that you can request them to cook in sunflower oil (but why would you - do all fish and chip shops do this? Didn't realise this way of cooking is the default and why it is). So just something for anyone with dietary needs to bear in mind. Overall it is good and I will show my support. I will be trying it again and I'll remember to request sunflower oil! But I wanted to review it because I don't want others like me to learn this the hard way. And I hope Percy's fish & chip place can make this more obvious and ideally inclusive to all customers. Hope this helps!

I'm put off returning if the response to a review that praised your food more than once, and understood the issues that face a new business, is so rude and shows a complete inability to take on constructive feedback. I was keen to visit again, but now I definitely won't be back again soon. ORIGINAL: Had the taster box, which nicely fed two without being too much, but could have done with a few more chips! Rock Eel was very good, great portion. Staff a little all over the place, all 3 servers standing waiting for food as a queue built up, but I can put that down to still being a new business. Will definitely visit again!

Easily best fish an chips I have had in Biggleswade. Just visited. Not at all greasy, lovely batter. A great addition to the town

Good options but average chips... It was nice to be offered the food to be cooked in either beef drippings or oil. I would of liked to score this local place higher but the chips were distinctly average, tasting similar to oven chips. Hopefully this improves with time.

Just been to Percy's for the first time, I had fish and chips, which were lovely, love the flavour of the chips and lovely thin crisp batter on the fish. Partner enjoyed his sausage and chips also. Only reason for dropping a star was the curry sauce was very thick and very strong like it needed diluting or thinning! Also the server put alot of salt on our chips that we ended up having to brush off as we were eating.

An absolute WINNER of a fish and chip shop. Great tasting food and great staff. My 77 year old father said the beef dripping cooked fish and chips tasted just how he remembered them growing up. Said they tasted like heaven. Just the right portion sizes as well. Even impressed my picky 8 year old who said the chips were amazing. Food stayed warm for the 20 min journey home and weren't all all greasy. WELL DONE PERCY'S!!!! we will be back for more soon.

Great tasting fish and chips . 5* easily. Don’t hesitate and just give it a go, if you want to taste the best around then Percy’s is waiting for you . Percys traditional fish and chip shop is just what we were needing around here .

Simply the best in town . I’ve tried them all and nothing touches Percy’s - without doubt the best quality and taste you will ever get from a fish and chip shop - the platter is delicious and at only £8 for 2 types of fish a sausage a load of chips and the best mushy peas you will ever taste Mmmmmmmm👍

Wonderful asset to Kings Reach ! A much needed traditional Fish n Chip in Biggleswade. Friendly and helpful staff. Superbly cooked crispy battered fish and tasty chips. Great portion sizes and beautifully presented and wrapped. Still lovely and hot on arrival at home. Can't fault it and very highly recommend. Definitely deserves a 5* review.

First visit at clearly a new establishment. Very rusty staff. The chips were very tasty however a large cod was no more than 10cm long. Saxon a local competitor far more superior
