Chicken and rice box gave me serious food poisoning avoid at alll costs

Terrible experience at Pepe’s. I was told my order would be ready in 10–15 mins, but ended up waiting over 30 while others who arrived after me were served. Staff kept saying “2 minutes” until they finally admitted they’d forgotten my order. When I finally got my food, it was wrong — I ordered plain chips and got Peri. I went back in, and instead of an apology, the lady (listed as Priya on the receipt) just handed me new chips with no bag or explanation. The most shocking part? She took the chips I returned and put them back on the rack with the others — clearly to reuse. That’s absolutely disgusting and a serious hygiene concern.

Although it's above averagely expensive, the good here is amazing especially the peri-peri wings and XL burgers. Relatively healthy compared to fried chicken from other restaurants on Broad Street. Staff are also very nice and easy to talk to but they don't put much effort into customer service. Also the chips here are disgusting however I still highly recommend because of the peri-peri wings and burgers. The price has gone up. The colour of my life has faded. I am now homeless. Plz just one burger.

Placed an order on the app and it took 40 minutes to arrive. Rang the restaurant up to ask where it was and I was assured it would arrive soon, they then hang up. They did not take my order number or even my name. 15 minutes go by and still no sight of the food! I ring again to request a refund as I was not able to on the app. I was told “NO” when I requested a refund and my “food was on its way”. The food did arrive during this phome call and it was cold. I have never had such bad customer service. Never use the app. Disgusting and unprofessional.

Usually is good but gave me a raw quarter leg was pink looked like it was on the grill for a minute disgusting staff looked at me confused even though the chicken was pink they gave a replacement which didn’t taste right even tho came home and oven baked still had a raw taste

I tried this point couple of time with friends and mostly enjoyed family deal but i reckon their grill food is best one .Ambiance is 10/10 and staff is very professional and energetic and try to serve food asap.I recommend everyone to try their foods

I ordered a chick n rice box last night at the branch to take away. Chicken just tasted like its just come from the oven and not browned or tasted like its been grilled at all. I did specifically asked for the chicken to be cooked well done on the grill. Clearly ignored me. Also I paid extra to add extra chicken in the box. Instaed they gave me less rice & cramped everything in a standard sized chick n rice box when its normally meant to come in a larger box like other Pepes braches serve it in when adding extra chicken. When I asked the girl serving me, she said thats how it comes and extra chicken is in the box. When I got home I was very disappointed with the food & what i paid & the portion size. I won't be visiting this pepes branch in Wolverhampton again. Other pepes branches are better & listen to the request & get a good portion size!

What a great place to eat in , especially the quesadillas are the best. And with a good service and fantastic staff they will be happy to serve.

The food was okay but just be aware when you’re eating because it made me sick afterwards. The door’s broken too which made the dine in area freezing cold.

The food tasted nice but their food is definitely overpriced and rip off. I spend about £20 on my meal but am still hungry and craving for food. Perhaps eating from Dixy is a better option! I wouldn't recommend it at all. I won't be coming here anymore.

The manager is rude and incompetent. This place has seriously gone downhill! What a shame, being a very regular customer I am now so put off. The size of the chicken was half of what it normally is, they are so tight with their sauces and peri salt. My chicken was not cooked right and was dry and the sauce tub wasn’t even 1/5 full, what is that about? There isn’t enough peri salt on the chips, this place is getting worse by the day. I called up and was told to come and collect a new combo meal instead of it being delivered despite everything being their mistake, when I arrived back I was told to go all the way back home and bring back the food I had got rid of, this was not initially requested when I made the complaint. I was then lied to and told we agreed that I’d bring back the original messed up food I was unhappy with when no such conversation was had. I refused to go back and come back again and was treat horribly. The manager was whispering in the staff members ears instead of speaking to me directly and I then waited another half an hour to get back the chicken rather than a full new meal as promised. The chicken which was sat waiting around so no idea why they made me wait half an hour. All other customers were served despite me arriving before them. My meal was completely ruined as the chips and sides were cold by the time I got back and the way I was treated has put me off this place, rather than apologising to me I was made to feel like I’ve done them wrong. Horrible. There are far other newer and better places around now like peppers across the road which will now be getting my regular custom, great customer service and the food is good too, they actually listen to their customers.

Food comes freezing cold, they leave your order sitting there until a few orders are completed, then drop off multiple orders before yours finally arrives freezing cold and disgusting. Never wasting my money here again

Worst Pépé’s everrrrrr. The wings are absolutely disgusting and the way the sauce is so watery is unbelievable. Why is a bag filled with watery sauce. Chicken is never cooked properly. I always get food poisoning from this place. Maybe learn from Birmingham Pépé’s or other establishments. But this one is absolutely disgusting. If I could give a -100/10 I would. Never again.

Received a message this morning from pepe’s reopening, quite excited actually…. To receive poor quality chicken. Never ordering again! Mate even Chicky Chicken next door done better the other night than you lot! What a freaking shame!!!!! Ordered 1 chicken wing meal with extra wings via uber eats, only received a drink and some wings.. thought OK until I opened this bag and saw the size of these wings they packed me! You should be ashamed of yourselves, not only missing items of the people’s orders, but also charging for literally 1 bite size chicken wings. I got ripped off £20 for literally a can of tango and freaking maybe 150g of chicken if even that. Never ordering again! SHAME ON YOU! The most expensive tango can I have purchased! 🤦‍♀️

Complete stealing, the chicken and rice box gets smaller day by day and they only fill it halfway through. As a minimum 4 days a week customer at Pepe’s I feel I’m being money robbed every time I open the food and their quantity. PEOPLE SHOULD REALIZE THIS.

It’s so so bad like the chicken is never saucy and the rice are like they just added some yellow food colouring and I ordered the chicken box the one come with veg and it was so bad like from one side the chicken is burn and the veg was like they took frozen veg and rinse it out with hot water and it made me ill so when I reported it they just said sorry we will get in touch with you soon and our team is working on and now it has been 10 hours and still haven’t got any messages

I bought chicken and rice pepes Wolverhampton, and it’s food like greecy rice and very few pieces of chicken. In fact, it’s just rice, chicken is just a formality. I bought the same thing from Peeps Tamworth. It’s totally different because of the taste, quality and quantity. I, prefer everyone to please boycott this branch because it’s just theft of the people, worth money, and it’s not worth it.

2024: Thought I'd give pep's another try, got a burger with discolored chicken. Better to cook at home or skip a meal rather than eating from here 2023 February: Ordered a full platter. Most of the chicken was off, stank and tasted horrible and had to be binned. All of the wings were off and were binned also. Fries were overcooked. The only thing edible was the rice and sauces. you're better off ordering from nandos Wolverhampton because they're more consistent. Will never order from here again. Waste of money. No point supporting smaller businesses if they're going to disrespect customers with bad food.

I’ve already paid for my order and was waiting for my ordered to be ready went to the lady working on the tills who took my order and she goes it’ll take 2 minutes then when she called my for the order she goes what’s your order, she goes oh sorry this isn’t yours. She didn’t knew what she was doing just tryna show people that she’s so busy. And my order was not even given in the kitchen to be prepared. That girl was so annoying I walked all the way for 10 minutes, was drenched, to your shop, I could’ve gone to chai hub but so annoying customer service from the girl.

Very consistent and never disappoints! I have been coming here a lot over the past several years and I would have to say that they're the most consistent takeaway in Wolverhampton. You always know what to expect when you come here and it's always high quality. I usually get the chicken burrito meal with peri fries but I've also had the wrap, the full chicken, chicken XL and the chicken and rice. The best value for money would be the chicken and rice in my opinion as their prices have increased over the years but they do offer student and NHS discounts so that helps a lot. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and for the whole time i've come here I've never had any issues with service, and they've never forgotten anything from my order. It's a nice place to come with friends and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in Wolverhampton.

Pepe’s used to be amazing but for my recent 2-3 orders I’ve been getting quite disappointed. The food is starting to lack taste. I was the biggest fan of their sauces but now they just seem to be extremely watered down. I understand times are hard but if you’re still charging the customer increased prices then your quality shouldn’t be dropping.
