Found my new fish and chip shop. Fantastic food, great service, friendly. 5 star Mini fish and chips, best I have had in area.

Had large cod small chips small mushy peas. All fresh tasty and good value at 9.40. More than enough for me and my hubby. Thank you penny's.

Visited about 3 weeks ago, 1pc chicken & chips in a box..£4.40 Chicken was good, chips were slightly greasy. The chicken wings looked good I’ll return and give them ago. 👍🏻

Popped in for fish and chips supper as recommended by friend. Very friendly welcome,ordered large cod with battered chips. Informed fish would be cooked fresh about 10 minutes which it did with a nice light coloured crisp batter not at all greasy. Chips were done to perfection. Now for the taste test. 12 inches of large flaky cod succulent at a reasonable price of £8.10. Hence the reason for top marks. Will be definitely be going again.

Bit dry and I think they were dinnertimes chips warmed up.

I’m very funny where I eat.. but this chip shop is the best and good value for money plus their potion size are good.

I've been here a few times and never had bad food it's always nice and hot, the best way to eat it

Ordered here an hour or two ago and the food was vile, the battered sausage was grey, the batter was soggy and flavorless, there was a hair in my chips and my friends food, he ordered chicken kebab with pita bread, the chicken was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside never coming here again.

5 years ago this place was bussing and busy as hell when it was halal - shell corner was the crown jewel of the midlands for tourism until they removed that HFA certification.. why? You’re located in the middle of a Muslim community and right opposite a big old mosque, me no understand? For the sake of business and community halal is the way to go

This is the best chip shop around! The owners are both so very lovely and everything on the menu is delicious and trust me I have tried it all !!! The chicken is better than KFC and better portions very reasonably priced too! You can see why it’s so popular, if you haven’t tried it yet try it!!

Nice friendly people... wasn't keen on the chips tasted bit earthy..not sure if it's just the time of year with potatoes..

The best fish and chips in Blackheath, the fish is genuine cod, and the owner is prepared to fry it for you fresh if you ask. It's the only place I go for fish and chips, the service is also fantastic. I'm not sure why other people have rated it 1 star. I am a regular and have never had refried chips, as far as I am aware the owner tries to keep cooked food levels to minimum to avoid wastage and for that you get fresh chips and fish with minimal waiting times.

Since the reopening I have been a regular and best chip shop locally. You have to wait a few minutes for things to cook but all fresh and good.

Best battered chips around, must say battered with a difference as normally my lips would feel very greasy as a rule but not with Pennys chips, I also had curry sauce on top and she asked me if I wanted more which you wouldn't get from most chippies. She's a very pleasant and warming person is Penny and takes card payment too. Best chippie for miles in my opinion, give Pennys chippie a go ❤️

Fantastic Chippy. Fish was a little small (they pointed this out Not Me) guy gave me an extra Sausage & a half on my meals to make up for it. Great Place will be back next time i'm in the Area for sure

It's friendly staff are a bonus. They do a few offer deals and all the usual products are sold here. The chips are good though the fish is only ok.

Went yesterday and food was awful...chips tasted like they were years old, battered sausage hard and hardly any batter on, gravy tasted like bistro and only half filled up. Absolute joke for the price, could cook better at home. Steer clear people!!!!😡😡😡😡

Terrible chippy, don't bother going! There's far better ones just a short drive up the road. "Orange chips" are literally what they say, just orange in colour. Taste old and like they've been sat around for days. Fish tastes like no other fish I've tried and that's not s good thing. Definitely would no go here again.

Disgusting. Refried chips, dry, and hard. all chicken and fish now Halal; no choice to have a non religious option. Shop starting to look unhygienic. Never again. Used to be good.

Penny is now under new management I rate highly as its clean and friendly and the food is first class. They now serve battered chips
