Peking Chef in County Durham

Had the worst chinese ever ,sweet n sour chicken ,soggy batter and stringy chicken ? Chicken satay ? Dont really know what sauce was on that ,phoned peking to give there side of such a bad meal only to be told What do you want me to do about it ? Please stay away

Immaculate service from the counter staff just an absolute top tier restaurant

Love the curry and the chow mein. Large portions. Always order online for collection, very seldom ready at the collection time. Too many of the assistants friends hanging around, taking up all the seats, making a noise, and littering.

Ordered food at 8-30….rang at 10-30 asking where it was and was told the chef hadn’t cooked it and they couldn’t deliver now and I’d get a refund…was recommended this place..won’t be using ever again..only give it 1 star cos there’s no option for zero

Thought we would try a different Chinese but wish we hadn't. I would not recommend this chinese! More fat than duck, nothing crispy about it. Prawn toast was like cardboard and the rice was tastless and mushy

1st and last time ill be ordering food from here, the rice was VERY Gloopy and salty, duck spring rolls had hardly any duck in, all I could eat was the sweet and sour balls and the seaweed.....my 6year old niece could of cooked that better. For the price of it all it should of been cooked a lot better.

Absolute nightmare from start to finish. Young man on phone kept hanging up. Then ignored calls so had to borrow another phone for him to answer. Took two hours to receive and when arrived order was wrong and food cold, tried calling and guess what, didn't answer. Also, be wiery of their pricing, their menu that they posted through the previous day is not what they charge you. Tried charging me an extra 7 pound as they said the menu was out of date. Why post it through the day before then? A shame really as we had our hopes up in finding a good Chinese.

I ordered at about 5 45 we did not receive it at 7 2o it was not the best chow mein tasted burnt and chip were not nice . They are usually lovely but tonight was really bad and payed 14.40 not good . They says tell when ordering again about meal we have had .

Our first time ordering from Peking Chef and we were very happy. Our order was delivered very quickly by a very pleasant lady, and the food was piping hot. Can recommend the Crispy Peking Duck and the Kung Po Chicken they were both delicious. Portions are quite big, and we got enough chips to feed a small army 😄 Plus free spring rolls and prawn crackers. Will certainly be ordering again. 👍

Delivery driver was annoyed I asked for my £5 change first time trying this Chinese and it was the most un Chinese food I’ve ever had sauce was thick and dry if that’s even possible, food completely bland no taste to it whatsoever wouldn’t waste your money

Ordered from foodhub put all my bank details in nearly £40 , order went thru , only too be cancelled half an hour later. Rang chinese takeaway up only to be told peking chef cancelled as a test ?? Watever that means made no sense , to be refunded 3-5 ,days later, and to reorder. Paying for the order again .After saying i had hungry children , , no sympathy , very rude with no explanation , and told me to ring foodhub to get refunded , i asked for number , he started shouting for me to get off google , no telephone number on google , so can only hope i get refunded , absolutely no help , i would definitely not recommend using this chinese take away

Hands down the best Chinese food in Shildon. No grease, not over salted, I'm old school and remember when Lee's was good. Peking Chef is better.

Good size portions lovely as always

First time we tried this place used to go to Lee's but it's been closed for ages.I had Galangal chicken a Thai dish with noodles my wife had noodles .We had chips and curry sauce as extras which were delicious.Chip bag was massive and included in the pack was complimentary prawn crackers gorgeous meal easily as good as Lee's.We had it delivered and it was bang on time on a Saturday night to heighington will definitely try again.

New owners and Sheffield absolutely 💯 👌 👍. New menu with Thai food on . Going to try that next.

Eaten Chinese food all over the Country. I don’t leave reviews often, but this deserves one. I walked in and ordered and it did take a while however, it was well worth the wait. One of the best I’ve ever eaten. Friendly girl on the till, nice chat while I was waiting. Will definitely be ordering from here again, next time I’m up this neck of the woods.

This is my Favourite Chinese in Shildon with excellent quality Fare. The only slight issue I've had on the last couple of visits is on Timing! IE this last weekend I ordered my meal for 6:30pm!, I arrived @ 6:25 & eventually received my order @ 6:45pm.

Best Chinese in the area, better than any Chinese in Aycliffe as well! 👍

Ordered are meal at 5.27pm for it to arrive at 7.08 pm not hot so had to microwave phoned store to be told there is nothing they can do as we were going to microwave the meal as we were very hungry by the time it finally arrived. Please think twice befor ordering it's a expensive microwave meal.

Tremendous food, lovely, friendly staff behind the counter. The food itself was perfectly cooked and delicious, from the aromatic duck to the satay and ribs; moreover, food was expertly packed and remained hot even over the course of a thirty minute drive - what a great Chinese takeaway experience

I placed my order of beef with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts in sted I got beef with onions and green beans? Please pay attention to the order I always order Chinese for your shop am very disappointed with my order as am pregnant and hungry I've picked all the onions & mushrooms out to eat my tea.

Ordered a chowmein wich normally does me and my daughter from anywhere else, was barely enough for 1 person as a meal

Never had a problem with the food here but ordered a meal tonight and there was a metal spring inside my meal! I’ve rang to complain about this and they were absolutely useless! Check your food before eating!! I will be from now on!

Incredibly fast service if you go in to the shop and wait for your order. Great food and reasonably priced. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
