Can’t review the food as none was available on Sunday lunch even though I had messaged to ask if it was and if we needed to reserve. Got there and was told not until 4,?that’s not Sunday lunchtime

Seems to be a stomping ground for slags & underage girls that will have a pint of dark fruit, a jäger bomb & then try shag your boy friend in the toilet or over the pool table. Wouldn’t recommend letting your boyfriend go here & don't go yourself if you’re a classy girl with morals. Not a suitable place.

The landlord is fully aware that racist abuse takes place here and allows it to continue and escalate. He went as far as instructing people to delete footage of a racist incident that took place last night in an attempt to.hide the true happenings in this place. You are at risk if you go here and are a person of ethnic heritage.

Staff very friendly, sat outside. Drinks were really well priced and fast service. Would definitely return

We wasn’t expecting anything special, Especially after trying to get a table in literally every single place in Hull, and this was the only place which was practically empty. IThe piece of paper with the menu on had the prices already knocked down on it, for the 50% ‘eat out to help out scheme’ or at least i am assuming it did, because it definitely was not worth the reduced amount, never mind anymore. Our table was so sticky I thought someone had smothered it in gorilla glue. My partner asked for a cloth and the young, really polite lad came and cleaned it. The glasses were all marked and grubby, the same colour as the windows. Whilst waiting a customer - who seemed to be friends with the staff came out the toilet and told them they would get shut down as for the last 2 days the hand wash only had a little bit in that had been watered down. He brought it out and it just looked like water. A girl went into the toilets with hand sanitizer and the customer made the comment that she had put half in male half in female then watered them down. . . Gross- especially when we are in the middle of a pandemic. It was nearly 8pm and I appreciate that it is a pub, but the only other customers were drunk middle aged men, shouting and swearing - not exactly a family atmosphere. The whole place smelled like a pouch of Samsung tobacco and Stale beer- which I wouldn’t mind if it was just a pub, that did karaoke and were you would go to get wasted without getting dressed up. But why are they serving food and advertising as a family pub? We had been looking for somewhere to eat for a good couple of ours, so we were starving. Mine and my sons food came out first and I couldn’t stop laughing at the little bit of chicken, with a dot of bbq sauce, rock hard bacon topped with what I am assuming was watercress (I don’t understand why the watercress was on there, it didn’t go or make it look any more appetising). My son had a pizza which was fine, didn’t really taste of anything except dough, bit like the really cheap ones from Lidl - but he is 7, pizza is pizza. My partners pie was like a birds eye one from Iceland 4 for £1. Chips tasted like a freezer. The portions were like a junior meal and myself and my partner were still hungry, we couldn’t even force ourselves to eat it all. The guy who brought mine and my sons food out said “is that it?” So we stated that there should be a pie which he went to the kitchen and checked. When he came back he said “yeah won’t be long, we knew the pizza was for the kid so we brought it out first”. So why did they bring mine out too? How did they know the pizza was for my son, they didn’t have a kids menu so it was all ordered off the adults menu, by my partner at the bar. Why not just say “sorry we forgot to microwave your little hard pie”, which I’m assuming was the case as it was like lava when it came out. No one came over to ask how the food was, I wonder why? I completely support local businesses and the whole point of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme, is to do exactly that- help out. But this place needs serious help! Help to clean, help to cook, help to create atmosphere, help to host. Nothing a few extra bookings is going to solve. I feel awful writing such a rubbish review, but it’s the truth and they need to stop serving food desperately! We used to love this place around 5 years ago but now it is tragic. Unless you want a pint of pale ale in a mucky glass and a jäger bomb, I suggest you give it a miss. I wouldn’t eat here if I was paid to.

Me and a few friends were going for a few beers down prinny ave and we came to the end of the road and popped into Pearson's for a few and couldn't of asked for more! On a busy Saturday afternoon we got served pritty much straight away with the speedy service, great variety of larger's & ciders alongside a few beers on hand pull. After a couple of beers we got a bit peckish and let me tell you the food was just bliss. I had a piri piri chicken burger which was mouth wateringly good, to my surprise they even had an Asian cuisine section so my friend ordered the sweet and sour that was better then a local Chinese down the street. Offers a wide range from pub classics, pizzas and Asian cuisines. I spoke to the manager and a young bar staff member thanking them for our experience and they couldn't be more welcoming during a busy time. Thank you so much! We will be back!

We went out for a family Birthday meal and Pearson’s were great to us. The food was lovely and the staff members served us with a smile. Will be returning soon!!

Came here with my partner last Tuesday for food it was horrible and vile I ordered a pie when it came it was rock hard I then went and asked for another one they then told me they got none left as it's the time of week that they run low on stock which should not be true it's a Tuesday I will never go again

Came into bar this evening. We pop into this bar maybe 3 X a week , because it's on route and we like to support local business. We often come in when the place is dead. I came in early evening today and returned a little later with my wife.To the point, I got a pint of Carling, it didn't look or taste nice. I took it back and accepted a change of glass. The lager was still rank. I went to the bar and asked for a different point, but the manager said"or its the glass" I tried to explain that it wasn't. No wasn't willing to take my word for it, very disappointing, may have lost a couple of regulars.

Food absolutely crap. Do not go. Cannot believe how bad it is. Microwave rubbish. Unbelievable most of us left our food. Or asked for a refund

we came here for drinks with friends for my birthday the place was very clean we didn't eat here there was a good drinks selection

Came here before the football as a visiting fan, couldn't't have been made to feel more welcome! Arrived around 12pm to a handful of people. Staff were cheery and obliging. Other fans of the home team very friendly and there was a good craic with them and the staff. Our group of 4 ordered a few sharing dishes and pizzas, came quick and hot, and tasted the part, and considerably better value than the fare they serve at the stadium. Returned post mach, after a loss and enjoyed a couple more drinks to drown our sorrows before heading home. Free parking was offered for pub users, food and staff great, pub and toilets clean, a good amount of people contributed to a nice relaxed atmosphere and they showed the early premier league game on large screens dotted around. will stop here next time we are up for a game.

Have been to Pearsons a couple of times over the years, but has always been generally quiet but there seems to be an upturn in business, there was a nice ambience and atmosphere tonight, we were a group of five, ordering burgers and pizzas (boring i know) but the chicken burgers were out of this world, worth returning for alone!The staff were pleasant and attentive, a great all around experience! we left after a thoroughly good night, we will be back!

Me and my partner decided to eat here after having relatively enjoyable experiences from previous years. Unfortunately the food was cold, dry and rather bland. The gravy was extremely thick and clotted, whiched seemed to be harshly rationed.I pulled a hair from my food and notified a member of staff, who seemed to deny the possibility of it occuring. At this point I was already paying and wasn't enquiring about a refund, I just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Seating comfortable and nor a warm environment no idea on how to pull a pint and the beer was not chilled at all.Ordered food which was meat pie and chips and a Hong Kong chicken with rice with chips and spice and onion rings.Firstly the meat pie when the lid was taken off was empty and the sides and base pastry was very very hard and the peas were Luke warm.My Hong Kong chicken was like eating rock hard nuggets to which there was no taste or hint of chicken also the onion rings were very greasy but the chips were really tasty.The gents toilet was a lot to be desired very messy and and smelt of non cleanslyness.Would we visit here again no.

Not been here for a while, but what an uplift this place has had, nice ambiance, music, great service and interactive staff, new management?and a new menu which I can’t wait to work my way through! Thoroughly enjoyable and can’t wait to return

A group of eight of us called in for lunch. What a pleasant experience, very friendly manager, excellent food and great prices. Would not hesitate to call back again and would certainly recommend to others. Décor is attractive too.

Arrived at lunch time and ordered from the menu. Food arrived within 10 mins and was hot. Would certainly visit again for a quick lunch. No complaints.

My friend rung a couple of weeks ago to ask if we needed to book a table of 10 for food. No she was told, should be fine. No staff, service terrible at bar. Went up to order food at 3.30. Was told very rudely your too late now. We can do starters as we don't have enough staff on. Pathetic. We left and took our custom somewhere better. Will never use again. Also drinks very expensive. Very rude manager

Pre booked a table for 16 people on a Sunday for food and a few drinks. Pub was empty so it's not like we were fighting for service.

Not great. Food processed. Empty bar. Apparently new menu due very soon. Not really impressed at all.

Went to this bar for a few beers the manager and staff where slow to serve and when asked made joke about people waiting. Wont be going again bad pint and service bad.

Sorry folks but you are really going to have to up your game in the food department. £12 for a burger the size of a 10p piece is not good value! A Mini me version of a burger!

We drank here on a weekly basis but going for a drink on 28th Sept we were turned away by the doorman because it was closed to the public for a private function. I hope it’s worth it to turn your regulars away as we won’t be drinking here again

Ive never been here before so I wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as i arrived in the car park it was Pay and Display. I only had £20 on me so I couldn't pay in coins. I walked into the bar and asked the lady behind the bar politely if she could change it and she said she was struggling with change and couldn't do it. She then replied with don't pay for parking, the Manager said don't worry about it. I asked if the Manager owned the car park and could guarantee I wouldn't get a ticket? She said no, it's privately owned. The Manager isn't in charge of parking so I don't think I'll take his word and end up with a fine. Long story short I purchased some drinks to get the change, then i had to go back outside to get my ticket.

Ordered a plain cheeseburger receive one with everything on it so Bully boy tactics from the manager

First visit never again. Have to pay to park your car in the car park fee repaid if a customer buys drinks but a minimum of £5 which means you have to buy at least 2 drinks which is encouraging drink driving, which idiot thought of that? Will loose a lot of customers, saw one customer get a parking ticket, some way to encourage business, perhaps someone needs a management course. The only drink I wanted was off.

Had the misfortune of eating in this pub. Won’t be eating in there again . ordered 2 steak and ale pie with mash. They did not Say on the menu that it was smash and not made from potatoes for nearly £10 per meal it was a rip off .frozen peas and shop bought pie. With a pint of bitter and lager a half lager £25 . Left bad taste with the little we ate. The staff cleared the table of condiments before we even got the food .

Been coming in Pearsons regularly for a couple of years now, food has always been decent quality at a decent price and even though on match days you could be waiting a while it was worth waiting for.

We recently went on our Christmas night out with about 25 of us. I wasn't really expecting anything special to be honest , as in the past at other places they seam not to care and just throw the food out. How wrong was i. We was sat in the back area all on separate tables of 4 to 6 people, at first i didnt like that but soon realised it was far better than been stuck on the end of a large long table . Everyone was close together and the banter was flowing well. Most had a 3 course meal . At £15 i think i cant remember, we paid ages ago . But even if it was £20 it was well worth it. I had the soup , originally it was asparagus but was changed to tomato. And it was Homemade and really nice to be fair. Then i had a HOT turkey dinner with two YES two homemade Yorkshire puddings and plenty of veg. Then a traditional Christmas pudding in a hot dish it was fab. . Most of us enjoyed the meal a few petty moans ( my steak was over cooked . My main took ages to come ) but overall everyone who went would definitely go back and im even goung to take the family after the holidays to try the normal menu. So overall being a bar down a busy street with such good eateries pearsons bar held there own with flying colours. Well done.

Went here for lunch, ordered and paid for food at 12.52pm (my receipt was time printed), was told (after I'd paid) there was a 25 minute wait to be served, had my daughter and two young grandchildren with me. After 50 minutes of our food not arriving I went to the bar to ask where it was, the barmaid said "the kitchen's working as fast as it can and getting food out", I asked what she meant by that as she hadn't really given me any information with that comment. I think maybe it was the manager or bar supervisor that told the staff member to go into the kitchen to find out where our food was, she came back out and said they were doing it now, fine I thought, anyway after another 15 minutes (with the 3 and 5 year old grandchildren now complaining of been very hungry) of waiting I went to the bar and asked for my money to be refunded as we were going to go elsewhere. The same manager or supervisor did refund my card with a very short "sorry about this" comment, it took at least another 5 minutes for the process to be completed. At the very least as a goodwill gesture I would have thought that the drinks I'd paid for when I ordered the food would have been offered free, just for the inconvenience but no! Also the barmaid who'd told us the food was been done 15 minutes previous to this checked with us which table we'd been at and then said I'll go tell the kitchen not to do your food then! I certainly would not be going back here for food any time soon!

Called in for lunch and not disappointed, my partner had fish and chips, good sized meal that she could not finish. Friendly helpful staff.

Visited Pearson's just after opening time, first customers in. Got some drinks, ordered three meals, wife, scampi and jacket, nice, daughter, ham and mushroom pizza, amazeballs , me, hunters chicken, I always order this, at any pub. ( Safe option ) when it arrived after only 15 mins wait. We were happy bunnies. But on starting to eat, the texture and flavours were off. The bacon was 90% fat, not a problem if it's crispy, it wasn't. The frozen chips were so soggy they stuck together. The salad although quite nice, had celery, and radishes incorporated in it, very overpowering, so I put it to one side, and had a few slices of my daughter's pizza. Oh the chicken was dry as a bone. Maybe try a burger next time.

We went mid week and it was very quiet, I had a lovely jacket potato with Chilli and sour cream, it was served with a decent side salad and the chilli was tasty.

Las personas tiene un ambiente agradable y amable personal gran bar pub, pero el viernes a la noche es muy completo, muy popular times noche buena música y baile. Yo preparar la tarde hasta temprano por la noche no tan completo justo. Puedes comprar comida y todo el pub.

No es un mal bar. Gran interior, con grandes ventanas y una zona exterior. Personal amable y no una mala selección de cervezas. Estábamos en una tarde entre semana y no sorprendentemente estaba tranquilo, así que no pudimos conseguir una buena "sentir" o vibración en el lugar. Ahora, la comida era muy buena. Mucha variedad en el menú. Yo tenía el pastel, que era muy sabroso y abundante, la salsa, merece una mención especial. Valor seco también.

A delightful bar. The décor is very elegant, there is a good choice of beers and spirits, the place is very clean [including the toilets], friendly service and seating outside if it's sunny or you wish to smoke.

Visit here regularly on Friday nights & the music is always the same which is pretty boring. BUT last night( 26th May) it was fantastic. Totally different style & the dance floor was full. I'm hoping this will continue. Please bin the old music or the DJ if he's responsible Lol

Visited this venue recently for a retirement do, Pearsons allowed us to sit & stand in a reserved area which allowed us to catch up with friends in relative privacy. The staff were super attentive as we approached the bar, sometimes two of them serving instead of one, "Doubleteamed". Large orders for drinks, no problem, take a tray, put the empty glasses on the tray, then they collected them. Very rare in my opinion to have service of this quality in this area, so simple but they were truly efficient.Overall, I would definitely be looking forward to a revisit.

Couldn't be bothered to cook, so popped in on a Tuesday after we saw buy one get one free on their pizzas. With eyes bigger than our bellies we did the pizza thing and also got a 'super salad' and some chunky chips. All for less than £20. Pizzas were huge, and delicious. The salad also was enough for two. Went home feeling very full, and with the leftover pizzas ready for tea tonight. Bargain!!The staff were very friendly too.

Went here - on a non football day and fairly early, for lunch. The place must have been cleaned very recently as the place smelt of bleach as soon as you walked in and everything was clean. The food was of a good quality for the money - nothing special - but it was what you would expect (which can't be said for some places!). The TV's show football - so if you like reasonable food and to watch the football you are in the right place.

We booked a meal for My mother and some of our family for a mothers day treat. When we arrived it seemed quite busy, so we sat down and looked at the menu. There was the normal menu as well as a mothers day menu. There seemed to be a lack of vegetarian options, although we were told Pearsons were in the middle of swapping menus, therefore some items were unavailable, this was an issue for me as I am a veggie. The manager explained to me that he could go into the kitchen and maybe cook me a mushroom stroganoff, I said that would be great if he could. There were 7 of us altogether and after waiting around half an hour, which was our only grumble, our food came out. It was all cooked well and tasted great, especially the stroganoff, whether the manager cooked it or not I'm not sure, but it was fantastic, really creamy and flavoursome, maybe they should look at adding it to their new menu. All in all a nice visit, with attentive staff and nice clean surroundings.

mainly use pearsons to meet up with football friends to have a couple of pre match drinks . last few times i have been in there seems to be a smell in the place and it smells awful

We called on for lunch & to watch the football. It was very busy but we were served quickly and there was only a short wait for food. The TV reception was questionable but the food was nice, well priced and enjoyable. The service was also very good, would certainly return.

We arrived with friends.. good atmosphere this place is good for tea. Our group had the Caesar flatbread good size served with chips. Steak burger.. tasted great & a few opted for sandwiches.. good filling choices. Cannot complain good service good place for tea

Pulled into the car park on a Saturday morning at 11.45 to the Landlord leaning against the pub. He shouted over, that he was closing the car park in 5 mins so had to park somewhere else. This was purely because we didn't directly walk to the entrance of the pub but towards the garage where the cash machine is located. I parked around the corner & waited for my family to arrive as we where excited to have a family meal. I had to call them all to advise that the car park was out of order. This annoyed my mother as she is disabled. Some 15mins later & when the family was finally arriving i noticed the car park was still open and the landlord was still around the car park. I asked when the car park was to reopen. He told me that it was open but because I walked to the cash machine he ASSUMED I was going to use his pub. I wasn't very happy with him & as my family of 8 came around the corner we decided to by pass this pub & had a cracking meal down the road at the Pave pub with a welcoming landlord.

Had a fantastic night, really great music that we all danced the night away to.Please be aware for women on there own, we found that there were a lot of lecherous males, of a certain age, in the venue who behaved in an oppressive manner. However, once the bouncers became aware of the situation they did intervene and moved them on.

After a couple of hours walking in the autumn sunshine around Hulls lovely Marina we popped into Pearsons for some food.New menu so we had a look and chose a sharing starter then ordered a burger each. The food was lovely, freshly cooked and very very tasty. The service certainly isn't rushed but it's a nice place to people watch and worth it.Give it a try.

We went as a family for lunch late on a Sunday. The service was good, the food was excellent and we all enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely go back. They even have a Larkin toad!!

After the kitchen been closed for a hour because they'll was behind on orders. Finally got to order our lunch and our food was wrong and no knifes and forks to eat with adter asking twice for them. After £20 for our food the portion was tiny and the staff didn't no if they'll was coming or going. Will no be eating here again. Gutted because I use to love this place for good quality food

We chose Pearsons for Dads wake and so pleased we did. The whole afternoon was lovely, the staff attentive and organised, the food fantastic and nothing too much trouble. We chose the lunch menu and all the food was served in very quick time and there was a lot of orders! A slideshow on the large screen TV and a private area all brilliant. A group of five of us, met up for a meal in Pearsons on Wednesday night. It seemed a steady night, but the two staff members were very attentive to our table and others around us. The food was tasty and arrived in a reasonable time. Only my second visit to this particular bar, but would highly recommend it. Overall a very clean and welcoming enviroment, with tasty pub food and staff that seemed to care that we were there.

Ended up here on the past couple of Sundays doing the quiz. Only been in twice before and each time I've always been a little disappointed with lack of atmosphere.Only worth visiting really if you want a REALLY quiet drink, or you fancy doing a quiz. £2 entry per team (max 5 people), and you can win up to £50 of food vouchers.

Held a retirement party for work colleges and couldn't have asked for more. The buffet was absolutely amazing and the staff and management couldn't have done anymore for us. Fantastic evening and would highly recommend. Thanks for a fab night

Booked 2 weeks in advanced via the website and received and email confirmation for a family lunch. On the day they had no table reserved for us and told to sit anywhere because it wasn't busy (luckily enough...or was it?!).We all ordered our lunch and 40 minutes later there was no sign of our food. When we enquired the staff told us the food was being plated. 2 meals came out and no sign of any more. It was another 20 minutes before the rest of us received our food. On questioning we was told there had been no prep done so it had pushed things back. There was only 6 tables at the most occupied and how much prep does a steak need?! All the steaks were different sizes, items missing from the dishes and all steaks over cooked.On highlighting this to the manager, there was very little in the way of an apology and asked if I wanted another dish. I didn't want to wait another hour so received a refund.All in all not a good experience and not well handled by the staff. They obviously knew that no food prep had been done and that food would be delayed so I would have been nice to be told when ordering.I'm afraid none of us will be returning or recommending it either.

Went for large family Sunday lunch.Been to venue before for drinks and evening out and always found to be nice place. But in the day light and with food a different story.On taking seat found table to be very sticky and very large cob webs just above it. Place had just opened for the day!Basics and made us wonder about the kitchens.Ordered food from the fairly large menu choice. Mixture of burgers and and roast dinner. On food arriving found the burgers to be great if a little small but the onion rings were cold and clearly been under the lamp for a while.Roast beef was curly and far too well done. Chewy and just not nice. Stuffing was cold and rock hard. Roast dinners are popular as they are so Easy so no real excuses.Despite the cleaning issues a nice location with lovely friendly staff. We will return no doubt but not for food and in evening when lights dimmed so u miss the sticky tables and cob webs.Far better places in Hull for food.

Popped into Pearsons for a quick lunch on a very hot day. The bar was quiet so drinks service was quick. We didn't have anything from the advertised lunchtime menu as we thought the selection was very small so opted for something from the main menu. The food took about twenty minutes to arrive but was lovely and obviously freshly cooked.Think we will be back soon.

Absolutely shocking bar staff. Stood at the bar for 25 minutes and kept getting ignored. When I dared to politely ask when i would be served I was told by a ginger haired bar maid that I wouldn't be! Simply because I had the audacity to ask when I would be served. I told the manager that I hadnt been abusive and he simply shrugged his shoulders.A dump that I wont be spending my money in ever again. They also sell themselves as a place to watch football but the tvs are smalker than my laptop- joke!

I went for lunch with a friend and, having been before, I thought it would be a safe bet. The décor is subtly contemporary and the place is clean. My friend had the Hunter's Chicken and, when I asked how it was, he said it was "okay." My Battered Haloumi and Chips came on a breadboard (enough with breadboards already!) with a portion of mushy peas on the side. Again it was "okay." Nothing to complain about, but nothing to entice me back to eat.The place was quiet, but the bar always seemed to be deserted and I had to wait every time I went to the bar despite being the only one there. My Stella came in a Stella glass the first time, but then in a Fosters glass and then a Carling one. It's not hard to get a glass right, especially at £3.80 a pint. The place was also completely devoid of any atmosphere at all (admittedly it was quiet).

I have been here before today and found the food pricy and ordinary but what a change. £6.95 for 2 courses and £8.95 for 3 during the day and what value. The food was delicious. The nacho dish was enormous. The onion rings were without doubt the best I have eaten and the rest of the mains lovely and innovative (gherkins in batter..a new experience!). Wonderful. But......what terrible service..to be fair not slow but no personality showed to us. A server or manager. who knows! sat on his phone tapping away at a bar table throughout. No particular greeting or goodbye or check ..nothing....just here's your food and thats it. Couldn't care less if we were there or not.

We thought it was a good varied menu and would cover most diners.We had a glutten free diner with us and the Staff were excellent and brought us another menu and offered advice. It's a nice clean comfortable venue. We did think the wines were expensive for what they were. I would go again.

Staff where great. Nice atmosphere, although the food took a long time to arrive and most of it was over cooked, we also waited a further 25 mins for a bowl of ice cream!! Very slow service!

Came in here on a Saturday night about 5pm to watch the rugby. It wasn't crazy busy which was good and we was able to eat without being surrounded by drinkers. I've eaten here before but the menu has changed, it's a million times better!! The food was delish I'd deffo come here again. Didn't give it a 5 because there aren't enough seats for people to eat on.

1st of all the Staff in this place where great, as was the atmosphere.The Big downside was the state of the Toilets - major ewwwwww & once being in the Catering Business Myself We where always told that people judged the Kitchen/Hygiene/food on the state of the toilets.As the toilet floor was covered in Piss, toilet roll, puke and god knows what else then I would hate to eat there.

Booked here for a large group buffet on the 18th (mad Friday) with some trepidation, however the staff pulled all the stops out and accommodated 35 of us in a specific roped off area. A speedy bar service with happy efficient staff plus a decent selection of ales started us off well and a marvelous buffet was served to our area including several large roast chickens which everyone had a go at carving. Only minor feedback was the lack of fries as the portion was meager for 35 of us but overall a great effort which we are likely to repeat next year. Recommended.

Disappointing, went a few weeks ago and the young man that prepared our meals was a lovely pleasant chap, a good cook as well. Went again last week just for lunch and hoping to see this young chap, Ady and was told he had been fired!! OMG, the food we received on this occasion was way inferior to our previous visit, the person we spoke to regarding the food was very rude, perhaps she should have been fired instead of young Ady. Will not be going back again.

Visited here for a late lunch. Food was nice although sausages were over cooked. Nice interior. There was a homeless man drinking from peoples empty cups which was a bit strange. Will visit again but just for 'tea' not a place for a special occasion.

It was my best friends 40th who is more like my sister to be fair and it was the actual day of her birthday the 25th October. She had pre-booked a meal for her family and myself which consisted of her parents, nana, husband and children and myself and her. So, a party of 9 and we'd cancelled four other family members as they couldn't attend. 4pm the booking was made for so they were fully warned and aware we were all coming for a Sunday roast apart from a couple of our party who would probably choose off the menu. After ordering drinks and being shown to our rather large table. We all decided on what we wanted to be told when we ordered there were no Sunday dinners left. Which we were disappointed about so we all went for an alternative for example sausages and mash to be told yet again they had none left. Prime time lunch trade, celebrating a milestone event. All of us looking forward to a nice meal to be presented with nothing. So, we all left and went to Cross Keys on Beverley Road. Who not only accommodated us at such short notice but had all roasts and desserts on the menu. Not once did anyone come over to say sorry or offer alternatives it was ridiculous. They state they serve food till 8pm it was a farce. Don't let your special occasion be spoilt like my friends was. We pulled it back by going elsewhere but it was a whole lot of faff that we could have done without. Shame really as I'd been told by all that they'd all had lovely meals there in the past. I won't be going there again.

We forgot there was a game on at kc so they where really busy but the staff bent over backwards for us. The food was amazing and the atmosphere awesome.There was fourteen of us and everybody said they will be back, i would like to say a big thank you to the great team for a fantastic evening.

Rang pearsons to book a table for 16 five days in advance. I was told no problem and was asked would we be having Sunday lunch to which I replied yes the majority will. Just one or two having stuff from the menu. Called Pearsons again on the Sunday to cancel 4 places. We arrived and looked at menu and went to order first drinks and roasts to be told none of that particular meat left. Fair enough we all then opted for the other meat to be told no roasts. Plan B look at menu and choose another option sausage and mash guess what gets to the bar to be told no none left. Sat back down. Not once did anyone come over to say sorry or offer alternatives it was silly we had tried to order 3 different meals and was certainly not going to do it all again to be told what we "couldn't " eat. Wouldn't mind it was only 4 pm and their open for food till 8. It's not that they didn't know as I had told them when booking we was coming for roasts. Don't let your special occasion be spoilt like mine was. Shame really as in the past have had some nice meals in there but never again

9 of the family came for the 25% off Monday night, absolutely brilliant, from the youngest to our eldest family member, everyone thoroughly enjoyed all their meals and were stuffed full, the quality of food was superb, service was outstanding and attentive, complimented with the background of live football and the salsa music, there was something for everyone, would definitely recommend and make this a regular visit!

I took my parents here on a Tuesday night with the 25% off meal deal. We were all seriously impressed by the standard of the food. I ordered a burger which was cooked to my liking, medium-rare, the fish and chips were HUGE and really fresh, all our meals came with lots of freshly cooked chips. Portion size was excellent and we all left feeling we'd had a wonderful meal that was well above normal pub food expectations. The ambience was lovely, really warm inside, the lighting was dimmed as it got later and great music playing.I would highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. I am a "foodie" and I will definitely be returning!

Came here with friends after work the last week of July for a few drinks and food. As soon as we got to the bar we were warned by the girl at the bar that we would have a very long wait ahead of us if we were ordering food as a party had just come in! This was extremely off putting - actually turning away business! We debated whether to Move to dukes - but seen as we had just parked up we decided to stay- we said we only wanted nachos and chips etc - light foods to go with our drinks - it felt like we had to convince her! Such a shame as the food was really nice- but we felt we weren't wanted and were an inconvenience!

Took my daughter for dinner as a treat what a waste of money I had a chicken & "crispy" bacon sandwich the filling was very dry bacon was chewy the bead roll was that hard I literally could not bite through it and the chips where stone cold the Tiny pot of coleslaw was nice tho. I had one bite and left the rest. My daughter had scampi and chips the frozen scampi was hot thank goodness but again the chips where solid and cold. Our food did come out in less then 10 minutes tho but I would of willingly waited Longer for hot or even warm food!! I would of mentioned this to a staff member if anyone had come over to ask or come over to clear our plates but there mobile phones and gossip took priority. I will not be going back nor will I be recommending it take your business elsewhere people

Went here for my daughter and son in laws 10th wedding anniversary, the service was brilliant, they were so pleasant and accommodating, the food was hot and good . I had rump steak, it was small but thick and perfectly cooked. My husband had sausage and mash, my daughter the beef and onion sandwich and my son in law had the chilli dog which was large to say the least. We all agreed that the food was good. We had a few pints of Carling lager to wash it down, there was also fosters and numerous other draughts on sale.would not hesitate to go here again.

A group of us decided we would meet for lunch, we ordered food which took 40 minutes to arrive. Three of us ordered BBQ Chicken Skewers, which on arrival the vegetables on the skewers were burnt to a crisp as well as some of the chicken. We complained to one of the bar staff who I found very rude and obnoxious. We asked to speak to the chef, who argued that the skewers were meant to be cooked that way even though the vegetables were black. We did get a refund for the three meals, following several conversations with bar staff and the chef. I won't be visiting this place again the overall standard of the food was poor, and one particular staff member could perhaps benefit from a course in customer service.

After visiting on a lovely Saturday afternoon with friends for lunch, I wont be going back. 3 of our orders were burnt. We waited 40 minutes for our food - the place was empty so this was far too long to wait in my opinion. When my friends complained about the burnt food we were met with a disgusting attitude from the woman behind the bar, who insisted the food was chargrilled not burnt. It was clearly burnt. No apology, just bolshie attitude.I appreciate that from time to time food orders will have something wrong - however its the attitude and professionalism of the staff that can turn the situation around along with an apology. Unfortunately in this case we were made to feel awkward about complaining and that we were flat out wrong with no apologies whatsoever. Will not be back, we were all very disappointed.

Went in yesterday (Wednesday 17th)after a family funeral,must have been over 20 people.Great service from bar staff, nothing too much trouble,they didn't even complain when we moved some tables. I got told before I went in that they didn't do food,glad I tried it,had the the scampi and chips,great value for money,plate full.I will be going in again,great service

They serve decent beer and they stay open late. There are worse places to visit. I'll go there again.

Went in with another couple over the bank holiday weekend. We invited them there because of an inviting beer tent in the beer garden. What a rip off that was £3.40 for a glass of Estrelle! It wasn't even a full pint and it tasted awful. The beer inside did not taste any better. Even though we only tried the lager, it left a horrible taste in our mouth. We will not be going back.

I am not one to complain or to make a fuss about anything but I was appalled and quite upset to find some pieces of glass in my vodka & coke I never reliesed until I got to the end of my drink, I thought it was ice until it was hard to crunch, then realised what it was as I took it out my mouth, my partner told me to go complain but I don't like to course a fuss, he went upto the barmaid and told her about what I had experienced, she never said sorry was basically just an "ohhh" won't be going in there anymore now, also made me very dubious to all the following drinks I had that evening.

We usually go to the pubs further up princes avenue and never thought to try here, but after someone recommended it we decided to give it a go. The food was beautiful: I had chicken satay skewers and my boyfriend for the chilli. We both scraped our plates and was able to wash it down with a nice cold pint of Estrella:) the seating was very comfy and very nice decor inside! Would deffo recommend and return!

I attended Pearsons Bar at the end of March with myself and 3 others. We have never eaten here and thought we would try it out. The food was outstanding and was a very reasonable price. The portion size was good too. Brilliant time myself and my friends will be returning.

Been here a couple of times recently with hubby and we both love the food, especially the burgers, but both agree that it lacks atmosphere. Nevertheless the staff are friendly enough and they have some good real ales.

We arrived here with our two friends to watch a football game on the TV, after an hour or so we ordered four burgers, it was already very full in the bar so we expected a long wait, when the food arrived I couldn't believe the portion sizes, they where huge! The four of us didn't have one complaint about the food, will definitely return in the future!

Friday late lunch. Started badly as we had to wait several minutes to be served at the bar to place our food & drink order. Unfortunately we waited 45 minus for our food, which in my view is too long. We only had a wrap and burger so it wasn't a complex order for two. Other customers waited just as long and I heard staff say there was only one person in the kitchen. Having waited I was very pleasantly surprised the food was excellent. Fair play to the chef as he/she was clearly under a lot of time pressure. We will return as the food was very good and prices were very reasonable. Just hope the staffing is better

such a shame the old zoological got turned into this! No atmosphere what so ever. Zoo was the only place down Princess avenue you could go and actually enjoy yourself! went in had one drink and went home its just yet another boring wine bar!

Ok if you dont mind boil in a bag food beer ok nice staff but not my 1st choice of places to eat there are much better places down prinny ave

what a place the food is first class the staff are great quality food at a great price must be one of the best bar/restaurants on princes av I will be back
