Who took over this place and change the sweet and sour. It's so hot. I can handle hot food but this food is ridiculous

Will not be ordering again.. disappointed is a understatement specially after I waited almost 2 hours!!

Great menu. Fast, friendly service. Tasty food, generous portions, reasonably priced.

Definately won't recommend to anyone since it changed ownership. Last three times used the order hasn't been right but tonight's meal really was a let down. Was going to have roast chicken in gravy but when I got home and opened it it resembled a gravy that could only be described as dirty dish water. On the other hand the Kung Po chicken was spot on. Will not be back till they either learn to give what's ordered and make it the way it's supposed to be made.

This place has gone right down hill. Just had a takeaway and the food was disgusting. Was cold, tasteless and not cooked properly. The whole order went in the bin.

Just got a take away from the Pearl which is usually good, not this time. Chicken was stone cold an raw 🤮 They asked if we could bring the meal back. Aye no bother I’ll scoop it back into the tubs and bring it back NOT! will definitely not be back.

A bit of a hit or a miss when taking a delivery Sometimes 30 minutes. Sometimes 2 hours. Food is good to mediocre depending on what you order. The chicken fried rice is excellent. After that is downhill. The food has never been cold but I only live 1/2 mile from the takeaway.

Don't get the chicken fried rice comes with no chicken... ridiculous portion don't think ill be back

This is my local go too Chinese, but in the last couple of months I've struggled to get a good meal from it, bland and tasteless come to mind , curry is like custard and well the food ain't as good as it used to be unfortunately unsure what's happened but I'm now traveling out the town to get my Chinese, bring back the old cooks 😭 the counter staff are bran new and the shops not changed only thing it can be is the people cooking that have changed 🤯

definitely will not return as it was very poor and lacklustre and mediocre at best. prices up considerably and there is nothing like value for money here, just would not recommend wasting your money here. Phoned to complain and they could not have cared less

Don't let the look of this place put you off, I'm very peculiar with my Chinese food, but I've yet to receive a bad meal.

Grump of a person who takes the orders. I cannot stand people who act like this. They have also changed to cash only. Not as convenient as before. Will not be back.

Food here is good, tasty and not bad in terms of value for money. This is the second Chinese place I'd go to in Glenrothes if my first choice wasn't open.

Got a chicken curry last night and the most disgusting curry I’ve ever had, sauce was tasteless and so watery it resembled soup! Why they think it’s acceptable to serve this to customers is beyond me

Standard takeaway food. No complaints, it's my regular for a reason. Staff always friendly and you can order online for collection.

After placing order I waited over 1hour 30mins, called to see where my order was to be informed "it was with the driver". A further 45 mins later I called again to be told "it was in its way", I proceeded to inform the abrupt individual on the call that he said it was with the driver over 45 mins ago. He did inform me that they were busy, I did mention to him that it would be courtesy and good customer relations to atleast contact a customer to inform them of the long delay, to which he informed me they where again to busy to even do that. If I hadn't paid over the phone I would not have accepted my food lesson learned. Phoned today to place another order only to be informed by the same abrupt individual that he won't take my order and to get my food elsewhere 🤣. I will in future but what I will also do is pop in on my passing next time and inform you of you ignorant and poor customer service 👍🏻

Very cold waiting for food. No heating or comfortable seating.

Waited 1hr 40min, when it came the food was cold. Customer service wasn't good either. Not the only time this has happened. Won't be ordering again.

Just had our food from the Pearl. No taste nearby all been put in the bucket. Don't waste your money goibg there your better cooking your own. Save money don't order.

Food is good but the young delivery boy needs to learn a few more manners. When somebody is handing you money, you say thank you. Rather unhappy with the level of rudeness at my own front door.

Been using this chinese for the last 6 years food was always the best in town until around a few months ago (new owners) now the food is terrible, curry sauce is like water, peppers and onions are mostly raw. Yuck never again

Ordered food 2 and a half hours ago.. still waiting on it being delivered,waiting on the delivery driver coming back apparently. They are 2 miles away,I could have flown to benidorm for a takeaway by now. Terrible service

Since the change of ownership the place has gone downhill as the prices go up. Dont order on Just Eat as the prices and around £2 more expensive, best to phone in for an order and pick up, if possible.

Deeply dissapointed and disgusted with how we were treated. I ordered a curry last night online from the pearl. After over an hour with no food, I called the pearl. I was told they were too busy and my order would be at the very least another hour. I told him this is unacceptable and asked to speak to a manager. The man would not let me talk to anyone and said they were too busy. I told him this is unacceptable so he cancelled my order told me I would get a refund, then hung up. I am disgusted and would never use them again.

1st time tried here for a long time. Reception guy was nice, helpful & friendly. Food was up n down. Chicken fried rice was good! Chicken curry was more onion than chicken but tasted ok, a little bland tbh. The salt & pepper chips are pretty awful. Soggy, and a little undercooked. Also a very small portion for £4.00 and a lot less than other takeaways. I'd maybe go back for fried rice dishes but that's all.

Iv used this place alot of times and food was ok.then they got my order wrong with delivery when i phoned back was told nothing they can do take it up with just eat if im not happy because i orderd it through just eat ???..ill never use them again..

There's obviously a new chef in the pearl as I'm loving the food I've ordered over the last month, I stopped eating there a couple of Yr ago because the food went down hill for a while but its nice to c they're back on track. Well done to the chef.

I ordered a takeaway delivery at 1840hrs and was informed the lead time was 50 minutes. 1hr 30 minutes later I have to phone the shop to be told the order is now with the driver! I ordered bbq spare ribs, which were not only poor quality (excessive fat content which was in no way rendered down during cooking), but also had not been cooked sufficiently. Spare rib meat should just about fall off the bone, not this stuff! I had to wrestle with it so much, I gave up and had to cook it further in my own oven (hardly a takeaway meal). I also ordered pork chow mein for my son along with salt and pepper chips. the cow mein was the weirdest colour I have ever seen in my life and my son tried it and then refused to eat it. I also ordered a side of salt and pepper chips for my son and he was only able to eat then after drowning then in ketchup (not his normal behaviour when we order them from elsewhere). My main was beef with green pepper and black bean sauce and I am not even going to try it, so it will go in the bucket. I am appalled that a simple takeaway, costing in excess of £30 for 2 people could be so bastardised beyond belief. I will NEVER order for this takeaway again and I would absolutely commend the Pearl if it had the defference and humility to reply to this review!!

Ordered dinner tonight for our family of 4. Very disappointed, 2 full portions of lemon chicken wasted was very soggy inside - unedable. Same with the salt and pepper chicken. Chips were hard and over cooked and curry sauce was watery. Phoned to only be told they will re cook fresh chicken but after that it had put us off didn't want more,No refund offered so 4 hungry mouths to re feed. Will not return!

Love the food just wish I could find what I wanted easier like a picture on the menu next to the item or a website could help alot

Always liked here for my Chinese food. Chicken Satay was lovely , but I get mine's just a wee bit milder . Great wee place n staff courteous. Wendy always knows how my satay is to be done so thank you Wendy. My regular and won't change . Happy customer 😁😁😁

Great take away. They will do orders to your taste including "skinny" versions of some dishes. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Shop front looked promising. Prices ok, but the quality of the food was very poor and flavour not at all like expected for the dishes we ordered. Very lacking in presentation & runny cheap tasting sauces. Like my Chinese food, so after a long journey and hunger setting in, it was a big let down. Would not go there again. The only thing that was acceptable was the Chips.The duck was limp and watery and there was hardly any in the tub. The Chicken was not a good quality kind and rather rubbery and tasteless.

It's pretty bad, I've been there a few time and it just gets worse each time, I went a few years ago and the foods quality was rather low, I'd ordered a chiken curry and my sister ordered a lemon chicken. In both dishes the chiken tasted of absolutely nothing, we literally couldn't tell if we were eating chicken or just eating a sponge, it was that flavourless. the lemon sauce was fine, but the chicken seemed to be waterproof and the sauce just slid off of it. I went back after a year to see if it was any better and it was even worse, I ordered a curry again and a portion of chips (their chips are actually a lot better, they taste of food), while I was waiting someone came out to the front, opened a freezer and took out a cheap bag of frozen chicken and then took it into the kitchen, When I got my food I realised that there was no rice and had to order it seperately from the curry so I bought some rice and left, when I got home I found that there was less food than the last time with the tubs for the curry and rice only being about 2/3rds the size they were before. The food was again very bland and flavourless, only this time it had cost me over £10 for just a sub-par curry and some chips, which is more expensive than pretty much every other takeaway I've been in, except that other peoples food tastes of food. I've found that their rice and chips are fine, but the meat and curry sauces they use are all flavourless to the point that you should just buy their rice and make the rest yourself. Honestly, I live close to this place but I actually prefer to go though to another town to eat instead of this one because the food is so expensive and low quality.

Try another Chinese!!! This one's brutal !!!! Left my review and they blocked me ....stay well clear
