Peacock Rooms Café in Fife

4:00 pm Friday closes @ 4:30. Just wanted tea and what looked to be a delicious looking scone. The first words out of the staff member were, "take away only". I turned around and left. 0 star on the food. 0 star for poor service. 1 star for the potential of being a nice place to have a quick tea break.

Seriously understaffed - 20 mins standing in a queue of 4 before an order can be taken. I gave up on food and just had a coffee.

It’s nice to have a cafe open in the Glen but for being council run I can’t understand why it’s so expensive for the level of service and quality of food. There are loads of cafes in the city centre offering better for less money. The staff are young and not particularly helpful, the food was basic, cold soup and stale rolls. Panini was squashed so hard all the insides was on the plate. Sandwich bread was chewy. Should do much better. Won’t be in a rush to come back, which is a shame.

Absolutely terrible. The staff are rude and don’t have a clue what they’re doing. They’ve mucked up my order nearly every time I’ve been and you barely even get as little as a sorry. Absolutely no management about the place. They also take 25 mins to make a panini on a quiet day. Save your money and don’t go here

Good but be aware it doesn't do food for the full opening hours.

Relaxing environment, nice place for kids

Very good food and great value for money. Service and staff were great. A good place for a day out in a very nice park. Well worth a visit.

Visited many times and always the same - clean, warm and comfortable. Staff are all pleasant and helpful. Food is good and fairly priced. Excellent selection of cakes that I think are homemade. Good selection of coffee. Nice views of the park and beyond from the floor to ceiling windows. All in recommended.

Great place to get your tea or coffee buzz, after a walk through “the Glen” or after the Saturday morning Park Run. There’s a wee soft play for toddlers up to 3.

Lovely cafe that seems to be missed by some

Decided to have a walk around the park and stop in for a toasties, was served by lynsey who was terrific. Good food an a nice atmosphere on a really cold day. Thank you :-)

Great location, but prices are extortionate for a council run café - £3.50 for a take away espresso, which was average. Costa charges £2.30!

I just came today ate cake which cointans milk, and right now i have stomach pain and puke. How they can sell old cake which is contains milk???? Never eat that. And for sure they will be reporter to check the quality of the food, horroble experience

Shambolic. The place should be packed given its stunning location and views. The younger staff are nice and try their best but waiting 15 minutes for a coffee is crazy.

I can't say about food as I've never ate here, coffee was lovely, staff very friendly. It's pet friendly too. Was nice to go somewhere different and relax, and have a leisurely chat

Food is over priced for what it is. I had a tuna panini which was rock solid. Could be a lot better considering the quality of other cafes in Dunfermline and with it being situated in the Glen, it’s disappointing. Soft play is ok but needs cleaning. Lots of crumbs etc. staff friendly which is probably the only saving Grace.

Excellent experience. Staff very smiley. bought out sausages and water for the dog although we said we wouldn't swap!!! Neat fresh, food well presented.Chicken club sandwich divine . NIce attention to detail. Apologies to staff we got ourselves in a quandary about taking the dog to the post office or not and forget to leave a well deserved tip.Will deffo come back here on our next visit to Dunfermline ( we visit family every few months) and leave that tip next time ! Mgg

Absolutely awesome place. They serve the best chips I ate in Scotland. Lovely atmosphere and superb staff.

Nice little rest stop before you take on the rest of the park

There is plenty of room to move about and the entrance has wheelchair access. The staff are very friendly and helpful with smiley faces. The toilets are very clean and well maintained . There are a number of items on the menu from a quick coffee and cake to a more substantial soup and a toastie. I would certainly recommend this cafe based on this visit.

This is becoming a favourite of ours to visit. Staff members are very friendly and chatty. The shortbread is the best I have tasted, melts in the mouth. The selection of drinks and food is very good, yet to have lunch here but I can bet it will be just as good as the shortbread. You may even get entertained by Angus the Peacock. Will be back very soon.

Had parked nearby & decided to go here for lunch before having a walk around the park & town. Great location, the outside seating will be handy for dog walkers & the cafe inside was clean & welcoming. Very reasonable prices, the delicious toastie I had was a decent portion size with salad, tortilla chips & coleslaw on the side. Staff were very pleasant. Will definitely be back & judging by the number of people who seemed to be regulars, I'm not alone in that.

Had a lovely coffee and traybake after Park Run. The staff were very nice.

Very rude staff. Was told we couldn't get served at 1440 when it closed at 3. Will never be back!

The Peacock Rooms is a popular venue post Parkrun on Saturday mornings for coffee tea and breakfast rolls.

Would have been better had the older member of staff not been hovering around watching everyone and taking trays away when people hadn't even finished their pot of tea 🙄

Only popped in for cold drinks but they had lots of options and lots of space. Will be back.

My sister and I went for a scone they were delicious as normal . It's such a nice place .

The staff have a smile for you, the food is very tasty and having windows on 2 sides it's a very good place to relax and have a coffee in the glen. Also there's antibacterial gel on each table for your hands and the tables are spaced so it makes you feel safe.

Great eatery in middle of Pittencrieff Park. Had a fab walk around the park, got hungry and headed for a scoff. Had tea and a selection of the scones between the three of us. Fruit, Cherry and plain. All amazing and huge and I mean huge. Lovely and light and fluffy. Mmmmm. Would recommend to all. Cheers we will be back. 😁🤪😜

I was so glad to phone up to see if the cafe was open, as I have always enjoyed the food, scones and tea I also bought my. Sister in law, and she really enjoyed her food. Will be back soon xx .

Very expensive which I don't normally mind but the quality of food was very back Street Cafe.

Good location,nice softplay for toddlers. Rude staff, not a shadow of a smile. Very overpriced for cheap cafe food that is been served (service with a grupmy face) Owner should really consider finding a new staff with a right attitude. Because is a big put off. We're often in the park with our family and wanting to have a lunch but to think of that service you rather just go somewhere else. It's a shame as it's a pretty café.

What a shame this place could be a gold mine, staff look like they would rather be anywhere else other than here, and that obvious by the quality of the offerings. Dont think I've ever had such a bad coffee wow...

Nice cup of tea with lovely views

A restful place for a snack but a little expensive. Also, we went up onto the balcony to get in but all the entrances from it were closed. So we had to retrace our steps all the way back to where we'd started a then walk around the building to find the entrance. A sign on the steps up to the balcony telling us that we had to walk around the building to get to the entrance would be very helpful; especially on a rainy day.

Always great service, daughter loves the soft play. Little bit pricey but worth it for the views. Can be quite hectic if alot of kids are in playing.

Terrible service the woman at the desk was extremely rude. The difference between a panini and toastie was enough to make her loose her mind.

Reasonabke size place, food and service are okay. A bit slow when busy but ok. Notable for the soft play area for young children. My granddaughter loves it and as long as the childminders don't fill the place up it's reasonably quiet, although quite a small area. Handy for a auick coffee and snack with small children

Nice family friendly cafe within the park. Has a wee soft play to keep the kids entertained whilst you have a coffee. Coffee is nice and average price wise.

They had no coffee beans left today for their coffee machine. A bit disappointing. Scone was very nice though.

Lovely cafe set in theiddle of a beautiful park, great place to catch a cuppa and warm up on a fresh spring afternoon, and a lovely outside area in the summer for a cold beer and chill, not ate there but seen lots of empty plates so can't be bad :) xxx

Nice cafe with small enclosed soft play. Decaf coffee options could be better but apart from that food is tasty. Healthy lunchbox option for children too.

Fife council spend very little but ordained to build a modern cafe in what I'd call their best all rounder park. It is a welcome oasis for families with kids. Food is simple but reflected in the prices. You get a mini soft play and clean loos. Some times you head out with the kids and all you want is a bowl of soup and a ham sandwich. Everyone needs the loo and a handwash. Take 30 minutes quiet refuelling (or noisy) then head out for the second half...if this doesn't sound like it makes any sense to you-then it isn't your kind of place. Sushi lovers and haut cuisine look elsewhere....

Good basic place to eat You don't expect gourmet cuisine in a park café, you expect to find simple food cooked well, and that's what you get here. Ate baked potato with cheese, generous portion of cheese and very fresh salad with it. Friendly staff, who keep the café very clean and tidy even though many of the guests have small children who inevitably cannot eat as neatly as adults. Super soft play area for young children.

Done up lovely what a difference

Its great that after many years there is now a place to have a light lunch after a stroll around the park. Good good at reasonable prices. Unfortunately I haven't been yet and the floors look like a sweep wouldn't go amiss.

I visit regularly becuase I go to a mums running group in the park, but the staff are consistently rude. They have a huge issue with having buggies in the cafe despite there being loads of room and us always taking care to tuck them out of the way. Not exactly 'child friendly'.

Fairly average fare, but handy for coming from the park or Dunfermline Abbey for a cup of tea etc.

Fab park with beautiful trees flower gardens Glasshouse with plants n Goldfish pond. Smooth paths n lovely built tearoom with veranda to sit out on. Toilets.
