Attentive staff who catered for my dietary restrictions. Food is what you expect for Cote, the regular dishes well executed.

We came with my wife and two kids, we ordered burgers and chicken dish. The food was not good I haven’t even finished my burger. The service was lacking, waitress wasn’t nice and it took to get the food to our table +\- 30 minutes. We got refunded for one burger and one chicken dish by the manager, she was very nice.

Unfortunately, the service did not match the standards of a place like this. Waited 90 mins from being seated to get my first plate of food. Not ideal, with it being for my mums birthday and places booked to go after. They did reduce the bill heavily but all in all not the best experience, sadly.

We had a very lovely lunch while visiting the area. We were aiming for their breakfasts, but it was already lunchtime when we stopped by, so we had beef and mushroom bourguignon. Both were nice and tasty. The meat in the mushroom bourguignon was even more tender than the beef. I highly recommend it! We had a side to share but not dessert because we were full already. I appreciated the attention to my allergy, even if, fortunately, it is not a strong one. Our experience was very positive!

They were hiring, got the job then said they would ‘call me back or email’. They never did so I tried calling back, and someone who worked there said the general manager isn’t in, I mean can’t any manager deal with these inquiries?! After trying to call they gave someone else the job because I didn’t ’call apparently’. Very unprofessional, compared to where I now work THE DUCK AND RICE, the management is way better and everything else. I hope people realise Cote is overpriced and the staff are unprofessional and have no sense of humanity. HORRIBLE.

Steaks are way smaller in reality and arent tasty. Wouldn't come again for sure

Côte Brassiere offers a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. The French soup starters are consistently perfect, setting a high standard for the meal. While the beef bourguignon and steak with frites were satisfactory, the beef dish could benefit from more sauce. Unfortunately, the steak suffered from inadequate cleaning, with noticeable nerve making it challenging to enjoy fully. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, the restaurant provides a pleasant dining experience with room to refine its offerings.

A table for 3 we all had a different starter and main meal. And all of rated the food as excellent.

Crowded, noisy and unpleasant. The staff were very good but it is not a restaurant to which I shall return. Cote in Highgate is good. Hampstead is not

Not a relaxing restaurant environment. My husband and I went there for an anniversary dinner and left very disappointed. My husband ordered the Quiche Lorraine which was delicious however I ordered the Poulet Grille and the chicken was raw. The server was quick to take it back to the kitchen but when I received the new dish this chicken was overcooked and burnt. Unfortunately this really ruined our dinner and by this point I just wanted to leave. The server again was very helpful and understanding and she removed the meal and my drinks from our bill but we won’t be back again.

Food was very good, the young guy that served us first of all before then end of his shift was very very helpful and welcoming, the massive downside not in any of the doors or windows, or tables did it specify card only! The women waiter after the gentleman finished his shift. Pointed out in very very small print that it stated card only. Company policy. A scene was created and we left there feeling very embarrassed because we only had cash. We left paying over our actual bill. We was not made aware once this was the case other wise we would not have even entertained the venue. The food was very nice, upside they went out of there way to make us whipped cream with our coffee Lecure

Family Sunday Lunch. Amongst us, we had steak frites, sirloin, rump of lamb, cote burger. We all agreed that the food was below average. Steaks were ok but not to die for - supermarket quality and swimming in butter. Lamb overcooked. Burger was terrible - half eaten. Mixed vegetable came floating in butter. Service was ok. The restaurant itself is light and open. I don't understand why anyone would want to come back here. May be Sunday lunch was not a good choice. I'll never return.

This really isn't as bad as some say but it isn't great either. The food was competent without, in the main, being delicious though I was told that the bass was. I think one might expect something a bit more to the top end of the culinary world in Hampstead. Service was rather slow but very friendly.

I love it, fast service, delicious food and friendly staff. There is space for our pram so it's usually our go to restaurant on weekends.

Maybe because we visited on a Sunday, but we did not have the best experience. To begin with, the service was close to awful; staff were chatting behind the bar, or too busy on their mobile phones to care about guests. Drinks arrived after starters. Chicken pate was absolutely brilliant and the only part of the meal we enjoyed. Crab maison had no crab, could’ve been anything. Chateaubriand meat was nice, unfortunately, it was on a bed of fried onions that should not have been there, and was not served with red cabbage or French beans as stated on the menu. Was served boiled tough broccoli stems. The crème brûlé was ok, but served with giant segments of clementine? No caramelised sugar on top. Very odd. Overall, not a brilliant experience for a birthday dinner. Will not be returning or recommending.

Had a lovely lunch at Cote Hampstead. We sat at a cosy table at the front of the restaurant. The food and service were excellent.

I felt sorry for the overloaded staff in this loud, busy restaurant. However this didn’t excuse the over 1 hour wait for our food as we sat there starving; an incorrect (more expensive) starter bought and we ate it and paid for it anyway because we were hungry; kids burgers which made the kids sad because they were regular burgers cut in half; and £22 lamb dish that came so rare and fatty it was inedible. On the plus side some dishes were good.

Fantastic service with amazing food, there are some vegetarian options which is nice as you don't usually find that with French cuisine. The French onion soup was really nice and service was great!

The food was delicious. The chicken with the mushroom sauce (or the peppercorn sauce, we tried both) was so good.

This review relates to 2 separate visits to this restaurant. 1st visit, Back in 2019 we had supper there. The food was OK and 4 of us ate. We paid and left to go somewhere a few shops up the road for coffee and ice creams. I felt a little unwell and ran back to Cote to use the toilet. I then went back to the ice cream place and 5 mins later had to run back to use the toilet again. This time I spoke to the manger who was very upset to hear how my meal had disagreed with me and took my details in oder to investigate what could have happened. After a short time I recieved emails and calls full of concern and in the end I accepted an £80 voucher for our next visit. Next visit. Friends booked Cote Hampstead last month and 4 of us went for supper. I presented the voucher and was told the code was no longer accepted as a new system had been put in place. We ate our meals and to be honest we were not impressed. We complained to the manager who offered us coffees and desserts on the house to compensate what the poor food. I then contacted Cote Head Office to ask for the £80 voucher to be given an up ro date code. I was told as the voucher expired after 6 months there was nothing they could do. They offered a complimentary bottle of wine for our next visit by way of apology. I said I really do not think that was fair and expressed my disappointment in how poor the food had been on my last 2 visits. I now will not be going back to Cote again nor will I recommend the place to our many friends. Since the brand has grown it seems the food quality has gone downhill. This is not a reflection on the staff at Cote Hampstead who were really trying their best, especially our waitress, she was lovely and ery sympathetic.

The food was overpriced and did not look well presented. The worse bit was the chicken in my curry was still frozen. I accept this as a technical error however the replacement I had was really poor quality chicken and it’s obvious with all the food it is not cooked with the care it would be in Thailand… with far less facilities to cook it properly. Everything about this restaurant was underwhelming.

Very poor Friday night, don't bother. Have eaten here 7-8 times before over the past year. I was initially impressed and thus returned regularly, this is an updated review. However... on Friday night the service was absolutely horrendous. Everything took much longer than usual from the very start. Not sure what the problem was but it was bad. - No hospitality or greeting, just a queue. Had to attract attention only to find my elderly mother had already been seated. So we'd stood around for no reason. - Took at least 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Food took forever. It was these delays that were the biggest problem. - My steak was supposed to be medium but it came out rubbery and greyish looking. That's not the way to cook a steak. - Due to the delays (in starting and in clearing our plates which sat in front of us dirty for about 25 minutes), I decided that it was pointless ordering anything else. We then left. A very poor performance. The waitress was informed of my dissatisfaction to which she grimaced. She could've easily just flagged this up and had someone follow up but didn't bother. "Nice work" 👌🏻 Unlikely to return.

Great french restaurant . One of my favorite casual place with excellent food and service . But I miss the tarte train de set that was the best and a highlight of the restaurant . Please bring it back to the menu 🙏🙏

Honestly, just one to avoid. Service was so bad the French (?) girl almost broke our plates when she slammed them down on our table. The Indian (sub-continent) waitress was nicer, but by the time she took over our mood was already gone. I had the feeling they REALLY didn't want us there. Food was okay, nothing special. I visited about a year ago and the food was much better then. I had the French onion soup to start which just lacked any magic, and they gave me so little I actually had to ask them to fill the bowl up a little more (that was a first)! Then I had some Tomato Tarte thing, which was surprisingly bland. But in the end, what made me just get up and leave without finishing my meal was the aircon being set very weakly (in a heatwave). Gotta save on that electricity bill, ops, I mean the planet. Gotta save the planet. With the sweat pouring off me I just had a long day and decided enough was enough and went home disappointed, tired and uninspired. Empty on a Friday night, awful atmosphere.

Booked a room for twenty for a wake and from the point of booking onwards we were made to feel extremely special. I would highly recommend

Visited Hampstead Cote recently (15 th August) for a double birthday. We the four of us had the set menu 12 to 7pm and it was delicious. Value for money plus attentive lovely staff (waitress) and welcoming warm friendly Front of House person. We had Happy Birthdays with a candle on our desserts.❤️🍰

It was very chilled, nice ambiance, great food and friendly and accommodating staff. Our waitress Sara gave some of the best service I had recieved in years. Rhanks for amaking the eveninf that much more lovely.

Bloody Mary not available because they didn't have the ingredients. Starter salad seemed to have come straight out of the fridge. Vegan main course blend. Charged for a birthday dessert we didn't order. For what they charge it wasn't value for money. Won't go back.

We came as a group of 16 for my dad's birthday and we had an amazing time. The food and drinks were delicious. We had a great waitress, who was friendly and efficient in tending to a big group.

Experience was good from start to finish. From booking the table over the phone to explain our need to have a large downstairs table for 9 and have access to a downstairs toilet for my elderly parents celebrating their 60th diamond anniversary to our experience on the day.

Great ( consistent/ predictable) tasty food, well priced, good service. It’s about my 8th dine in at Cote brassiere, Windsor, Cambridge, London. Never been disappointed.

Father's Day visit. Plus points - free beer deal, steak frite good, service good. minus points - some items not available, fougace overbaked, tomato pie starter overbaked. Salmon main salmon cooked ok but veloute sauce meagre and tasteless so quite dry.. Did mention to manager and some discount obtained. Overall slightly underwhelming may have been an off night. Usually Cote restaurants quite good.

I did not enjoy my visit to this restaurant. I ordered sirloin steak 8oz but I am sure it was much smaller than 8 Oz and no side! I was surprised to see that there was no side except for tiny amount of water cress. In addition to that they charged the sauce I requested extra!!! In general not happy with my experience and I do not recommend the place. You can get much better food and bigger portion with the money you spend there.

Having previously had a takeaway from the Hampstead branch & eaten at the Mayfair branch several times, all of which were very positive experiences, this was an utter disappointment. And an expensive one. This was for a takeaway order, and the food was tasteless & the portions tiny. Eg a chicken & cashew dish had 3 tiny pieces of chicken in it, a prawn one had 2 dried out prawns. Never again. Which is a great shame.

Cote has been a regular haunt since it opened. We've never had a bad meal and the staff are invariably friendly and pleasant. What's more, it's very good value.

Food was impeccable. Every dish delicious and perfectly cooked. Sevice was attentive. There was a little delay with dishes the day we went and they acknowledged and apologised in advance. Aside from that it's a great restaurant and keeping it on my list of restaurants to come back to.

Despite 2 courses arriving late, the food was absolutely delicious and the manager had already given us a discount before we had a chance to say something. Whilst waiting for our starter and main, the servers came to us and apologised before we could complain to them. We felt, that despite these hiccups we were well taken care of. (3 stars for service because of the delay only). The calamari and cheese soufflé starters were yummy, as well as my chocolate fondant for dessert.

Pleasant branch of Côte situated on Hampstead High Street. I visited with a friend on Sunday evening. We shared the baked camembert for starters. It was served with sourdough toast and cornichons and was cooked to perfection. I then had the Breton fish stew, which was full of mussels, prawns, squid and line fish. My friend had a steak, which he also said was good. The service was good and friendly, and the restaurant is located in a a pleasant period building.

This place is way too expensive! I can’t recommend it at all. The food standard is simply too low. Flavourless starters, and the texture of the prawns suspicious. The main course was the best part, though way below middle standard, lack of filling. Rubbery dessert, too much starch. And even though we ordered two different sorts of glasses of red wine they tasted exactly the same. Not to mention that it was cold out of the fridge.

A very warm welcome was followed by a long wait to have our order taken: nobody came near and I had to get up and go to the desk to ask for service. The starters came pretty quickly but there was a long wait for the mains and we had no time left for desserts. Understaffed, perhaps. The food was really excellent and but for the service I would have given five stars.

I just had one of the best crossiant's of my life . The breakfast was great and so were the juices. I can highly recommend this place. They also made a special arrangement for me to get cheese with my crossiant which goes against the French way apparently(the waiter told me)

This restaurant was recommended by my sister in law as its been one of her favourite restaurants to dine in. Amazing and friendly staff. Great taste and quality of food. Definitely worth the money paid for.

Special thank you to the wonderful staff, in particular the lovely Zakina, Anna and Agnes who work so hard and always make us so welcome. We had a lovely family meal which everyone very much enjoyed, thank you.

My wife and I had a lovely experience for our Valentine’s Day dinner. This restaurant has been on our list for a bit and I’m glad we went here. The prices for a pre-set menu was about £30 each, which considering it was a three course meal, seemed really reasonable. We had several options for our starter, main, and desert. The staff were attentive and professional as well. I would go back.

Took my very good friend to dinner there last night for her birthday. I have no reservations in giving all the stars as it was an excellent meal with good service. I cannot think of a single thing that could have been better except if it had happened in Paris.

Slow service. Missed bringing my bread for my seafood stew. Forgot to take a photo. Expected deeper chilli hit from the dish. It felt bland compared to its description. Can avoid ordering that dish. Would recommend french specials though. My friend had that and really enjoyed

We had dinner here with a large group of family and friends the night before our wedding. The team managed a pre order of food and drinks as well as a tab on the night for hot drinks and extra alcohol and everything went down without a hitch. I have coeliac disease and as usual the gluten free options were fantastic and processes were in place. The team were exceptionally friendly, chatty and helpful - checking in regularly to see if we needed anything. Also very accommodating with the babies we brought along and all the paraphernalia which comes with them!

The staff was polite. However, it stopped there. Food was mediocre at best. When we asked for spicy food, they said they’d give chopped chilies on the side…and they charged us £3.60 for a couple thimbles full of chopped chilies (and no other restaurant ever charged us for it).

Food was bland, artichoke risotto lacked any artichoke and rice was not cooked properly. Starter was two bits of bread for a large portion of liver pate, could do better, high expectations for this place as the food is normally good.

Friendly staff, food was fine, they had veggie and vegan options for all members of our group. Breakfast was missing some items though, and they marked us as no-show, even though we did show, and called at the correct time to say we'd be 10 minutes late. I then had to jump through hoops with their booking partner to prove we were there to have a charge reversed. Not ideal so removing one star.

I booked a table for 2 here for my partner’s birthday celebration and we had such a wonderful experience! The food was delightful (as always at Cote), the atmosphere was so relaxed and pleasant. Thanks to members of staff for their professionalism and politeness, especially to Patricia for making our evening so lovely. She was very nice and attentive to us, and served partner’s dessert with a candle and signed “Happy Birthday” and sang happy birthday song😍 That was such a great surprise! Love that place❤️

Not the place to go in Hampstead.

The food is obviously mostly pre-prepared and assembled on site (which is why you can't ask for any modifications). It's also distinctively average. This would all be fine if it was reflected in the price, but it's not. The staff really needs training. I know at the moment it's a challenge to find staff but I would expect a waiter to have a modicum of understanding of the dishes they are serving: otherwise might as well go the QR Code way and allow people to order directly.

Nice room, staff friendly but untrained, she dishes good, some distinctly average.
