Freshly cooked food. Best to order in advance and pick up. I ordered for 14 people and ordered was perfect. Would recommend as a great takeaway.

My partner and I decided to have a motorbike ride out for dinner and stop somewhere for fish and chips, given my surname is Parry a chippy called Parry's Place was a natural draw. OMG how bad a decision. We ordered our two fish and one portion of chips to share, and two portions of peas with a couple of cans of cola, waited for ages then rode up to the river to sit and eat them. I commented on how the fish tasted odd and instead of being white its was a beige colour but we ate them. Next day we both paid the price, being unable to venture far from any toilet facilities and generally feeling ill. So thanks Parry's Plaice, thanks for the overpriced dose of food poisoning! We most definitely won't be back and would recommend everyone to not bother.

Ordered fish n chips. These must be the worded I have ever had. Chips pale snd under cooked. Fish dipped in thick batter and soggy. No taste to the cod. Would not recommend here.

Would recommend going if you were in town, staff were friendly, good menu, chicken nuggets were lovely, chips needed a bit more salt/vinegar, however overall we ate all our food and would go back!

Popped in on Saturday night as we were staying in Corwen. Pleasant staff, we ordered fish and chips for 2 and they were very generous portions. Good price as well. We would return.

…in a town without too many others, they really know what they are doing at Parry’s. The chips are flawless and my haddock was absolutely delicious: light and tasty, not too greasy. Everyone else I ate with enjoyed their various other bits too including cod, goujons, curry sauce and mushy peas. Ordering over the phone was very simple and service was super friendly as well.

Just as a good chippy should be. Simple; no aires no graces - just good honest food as it should be: hot, fast, tasty.

Our local chippy, decent portions, yummy food and tasty specials on every week! Lovely treat. Staff are friendly and helpful and I always call ahead to order.

had to wait outside in rain re covid restrictions. waited far too long for a chippy service...about 15-20mins. chips were cold when i got them home which was only 5 minutes away! won’t be rushing back

Honestly walk in and the overall vibe was bad and i order to go, took 25 minutes to cook and afterwards the chips were so bad my dog wouldn't eat it, the fish was basically batter and trout, walked in and the place stank like fish. this brat called Evan came down and started asking "mum" if his purple double headed dildo arrived yet the mum replied no sweetie, after that incident they ask to step out so we couldn't here there conversation it was -3 outside and it was blizzarding, overall review it was worst chippy i been to and I've been to someee chippy's

just got 2 fish and chips, fish well over cooked, terrible and honestly say the worst we have ever had

While driving through Wales on a road trip and starting to feel hungry, I put nearest fish & chips on the Google search maps and it brought me here. Didn't know what to expect but I have to say, this is by far the best fish & chips I have ever tasted!

I consider myself to be a "Fish & Chips connoisseur", and try to call here whenever I'm in the area. All fish are cooked to order, and worth waiting for !

i went here last tuesday with my (ex) wife. Unusually i found that the chips were dry and greasy at the same time! i cannot forget to mention the rude workers, a young teenage boy i assume who was potwashing gave me dirty looks and so did the woman serving me, very rude telling me to get some ketchup from somewhere else, she then threw a battered sausage at my (ex) wife, so i was in a sticky situation but i was cursed at plenty of times by the teenage boy. Me and my (ex) wife then left and went to the Kebab next door, which i would highly reccomend. My wife also left me that day, she said the chips were dry like our relationship ):

First of all have to say the food is really good here.But the way this shop is run is just chaotic.No matter how big or small your order you will only get served in order of when you entered the shop.So if you only want a single portion of chips or even just a sausage you have to wait till everyone who walked in before you has had their fish cooked and served.To add insult when they take your order when you walk in they also take your money, so if you get fed up of waiting you cannot just leave it as you have already paid.A classic case of Chip Shop Anxiety.

Before I ate here, I didn't think a chip could be dry and greasy at the same time. I'm quite sure they're actually potato skin stuffed with household loft insulation. Terrible service and no bloody salt and vinegar even though i asked for it specifically! Horrible atmosphere if you eat in, the only view is a bloody graveyard. Awful experience, ruined my holiday.

Fantastic food as always and efficient service. Can’t understand why anyone would criticise this place. It might be worth remembering that food is cooked freshly to order and not pre cooked and re warmed like in some busy city centres.

OK, I've never ever worked in a Chip shop before. Or any kind of fast food establishment, come to think of it - but I've visited a few and the routine is pretty much the same:Customer goes in. Pre-orders anything which requires it by talking to the fryer. When at front of the queue, a member of staff asks what the customer wants, serves it and wraps it. Takes money. NEXT!Not quite what happens at Parry's Plaice...We walk in. I ask if haddock needs to be pre ordered. Fryer (Older member of staff) tells me there is a queue and to order from the serving staff. Fryer keeps flapping and asking servers if they have put the right things in each order. Clearly annoys and flusters the servers. Server asks everyone what they want when they come in. Some people don't realise this is how it works, and get left out. Each customer stands worriedly wondering if their order will be right. People called forward randomly to collect their order, pay money. Leave.Very confusing and overly complicated! But that's what it's like. The senior member of staff did not fill me with confidence and kept criticising the other members of staff in front of customers.Fish and chips did actually materialise and were pretty good - but waiting for them and watching the staff was like watching a cringey sitcom! Will probably return just for the craic next year!

Stopped in at 6 PM. Two others there. Service was quick and the quality and quantity of the fish and chips was outstanding. Do not quite understand the other poor reviews. One of the best fish and chip places we have been to in the entire UK. Will go back again .

Me and my girlfriend went this chippy one Friday night about 7pm. When we arrived the place was full off people ( mainly locals) , about 20people. The staff behind the counter didn't have a clue. We wait in there for about 10mins before they even took are order! An waited another 45mins for fish an chips which was okay but nothing special. Some people in there waited over 25mins for chips . Don't waist your time by going here. Be quicker just waiting till you get home the next day!!

Decided to have fish n chips in cafe, there was children running up and down making a hell of a racket, throwing noisy toys up and down the cafe, a little girl used the toilet and left the door wide open, extremely uncomfortable!Not a pleasant relaxing meal at the end of a busy day as I expected.‘Parents/adults’ could not control children.Fish and chips were good, however, just wish I had taken the out!!!!!

Great fish and chips. You can even phone your order in as I do and it’s ready for collection at a time to suit you. Also has a cafe which I believe is brilliant too

We travel 8 miles here for fish and chips whenever we are in llangollen which is most weekends. Staff are friendly and fish and chips are the best we've ever had.

I was camping for one night with my 10 year old son at the nearby excellent Carrog Station campsite. We didn’t take any cooking kit as it was an overnighter. I asked the campsite owner if there was a chip shop in Corwen (but 2 miles away) and he said “yes but you are probably better off going to Llangollen” and I should have heeded his recommendation.

A rainy day with 2 hours between trains and not all pubs open. Really nice friendly people, well cooked haddock, chips and mushies, done well and done quickly. Very enjoyable and good value.

If you are looking for well-cooked, fresh, lightly battered fish and chips, Parry's Plaice is the place for you. Absolutely delicious.

Visitamos aquí recientemente por las patatas pescado y guisantes conseguimos el tren desde Llangollen, no hay mucho que hacer mientras espera al próximo tren, como dos de los pubs estaban cerrados, nos recibió los propietarios muy amables del bar, que fueron muy pescado educado, nada era demasiado problema. Es agradable tener una conversación con la gente estos días. Volver a la comida, mi marido y yo compartimos pescado y patatas fritas eran fresco en frente de nosotros, la guisantes blandos también estaban muy bien, tienen muy buenas ofertas en comida en el día. Así que siempre es bueno mirar para ellos.

Lovely staff and fabulous food. Would reccomend this takeaway/cafe to everyone. Local people or passers by are all given the same welcome to corwen.

After reading the review stating that they were the" worst chips they had ever tasted " we were in two minds wether to go in to Parry's Plaice.We were glad we did ! The food was really good and the chips were among the best we have tasted.The young girl who served our food was lovely and so very polite.( think her name was Beth ).It's obviously a very busy chippie but everyone just got on with it, no drama !All in all, very impressed.

Mi esposa y yo decidimos que tendríamos pescado y patatas fritas para comer y nos encontramos aquí.

Nos pareció que este era sólo un fish and chips, pero noté el café en la parte trasera. Pedimos el dos de la especial - pescado (empanada crujiente, encantador de pescado blanco) patatas fritas (muy agradable) y guisantes con pan y mantequilla, un puesto de té, seguido de mermelada roly poly con natillas. Por £11.50!

Went for dinner with a lad works with me took his order but not mine? Woman behind the counter stood there and didn't ask me so walked out. Terrible service.

If you travel to Corwen mid week on one of the three steam trains, then get the earliest one at 10.45, then you can eat at Parrys before it closes at 2.00. Eat inside for £4.95, which is fish, chips and peas, followed by cherry tart and custard and included a pot of tea with extra water and extra teabag! Excellent, well cooked food and great staff...how do they do this for under a fiver??? Nothing much else open for food on a Thursday!

Fish and chips here are to die for best in a million miles of Corwen , chips always cooked to perfection no bits , fish the batter is crisp right the way through . Always fresh never over cook so a few minutes wait which is worth the wait, service with a smile always

On the way home from visiting family we called at Parrys plaice. It was very busy not only with customers in the shop but with telephone orders. The staff were very nice and friendly. We had a bit of a wait for our order due to this but it was well worth the wait. Probably the nicest fish I have ever had from a fish and chip shop.

Im always happy with the food here, everything is cooked fresh to order and the prices are really good. The portion sizes are huge so you always get what your paying for. The staff are friendly and you never have to wait very long.

fish is cooked fresh upon order. prices are decent. only downside i would say, is at its freshly cooked, its soaked in a lot of oil, while it was tasty; towards the end of the meal, it left a very oily after-taste, which was quite off-putting. not something I would eat every day.

We came in after our day out walking and climbing and we were hungry. The food was fabulous and very hot. Great service and didn't have to wait very long.

We call here from time to time because my mam loves their battered plaice, the food is all cooked to order so is always piping hot! Staff are really friendly and the food is great value for money also the coffee machine which is self service has really nice lattes :)

This takeaway also has a seating area at the back: nothing fancy, but clean enough, and with a nice view of the graveyard! Service was prompt and friendly, and my cod was cooked to order. Quality was good, and portion size generous; all in all, very good value for money.

Called in for fish and chips to keep us going. Really friendly staff and the food was great value. I suspect they cook a multiple of dishes in the oil as the fish and chips had a slight taste. Not the best but very enjoyable and very good value at £4.60!

Excellent Fish and Chips. Cooked to order and very tasty. There is a sit down area as well as Take Away. It makes a nice change and who can resist as you walk by.

Since moving to the area in March 2014, we have had a few chippys from Parry's Plaice and we have never been dissapointed. The fish is excellent and good chips.

My family was recently talking about a trip we took a while ago. One of the highlights was stopping in Corwyn while driving through Snowdonia to Fishguard. We were looking for a good meal and found it at Parry's. Monstrous and delicious portions that beat pricier fish we had in London. I had the fish and my wife had the pea fritter. We loved chatting with the locals and the lovely ladies making our food. Call it Welsh charming of American customers but we loved the food and the experience. Can't wait to return for more.

Just moved into the town so we tried the chippy between unloading the van.Really good quality fish and chips and the owners were friendly and welcomed us to the town.Generous portions and reasonable prices, plus fantastic opening hours (all day Fri and Sat!) They do healthy options, baked potatoes and even do gluten free pizza's. GF fish and chips would have been awesome but you can't have everything!Have eaten here a couple of times since we moved and will continue to be a regular customer. Thanks!

We didn't want too much to eat on a really hot and humid evening so had a pizza between us. It was tasty and the staff were very cheery as we waited- no microwaved stuff here! The pizza was great and we ate it on a bench in the churchyard behind the shop which the staff told us aboui.

Found myself with a hankering for fish today which prompted a stop at Parry's Plaice.Firm chunky white flakes of fish coated in a golden crunchy batter. The chips were plentiful and equally delightful and very well priced. The is an art to cooking even the simplest of fish dishes. A delightful masterpiece with a taste of the sea to boot.

Was caught in Corwen by a blockage of the A5.The visit to Parry's Plaice eased the frustration. Excellent battered cod and excellent chips a fair price. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing that way.

We've enjoyed very good fish and chips here on every visit to Corwen in the last 6 years. The meal sizes are very generous with great fish in a nice crunchy batter. Lots of extras to choose from including salad, mushy peas, gravy and curry sauce (delicious!). There is a nice eating area if you don't want to take away, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. A great place to get traditional English fish and chips!
