We ordered a vegan cheese and tomato pizza amongst a family meal deal as our daughter has a dairy allergy. Upon collecting the order they gave us an original Cheese and tomato pizza. When querying the order the manager was extremely rude and said we would have to order another pizza as they had made the wrong one. He then refused to correct the order. After eventually agreeing they had made the wrong order, he then refused to recook the rest of the order and said it would have to be eaten cold. We asked for our money back and to cancel the order and he refused directing us towards our bank to refund the money. Such a bad experience and this was before we even had any food.

The place is filthy. The food is disgusting and served cold. Everyone that i know has some stomach issues or diarrhea after eating there. The staff are obnoxious and unhelpful. They messed up my order. And in the evenings they rack up the prices by at least 200%. Normally a pizza on their menu would be between £12 to £22. Go in the evening and they will charge you £40. My friends last week got charged almost £100 for 3 pizzas. Not massive pizzas, medium size pizzas. This is ridiculous. Even FIGO, which is a italian specialed restaurant with professional staff and actual Chefs dont charge anywhere near as that for a pizza. And theirs is actually good. Oh, and if you have an issue with your order, well, too bad. They wont do anything. The manager/owner and the rest of the circus dont give a damn. Dont bother with this place, there is not a single redeeming thing about it. It's honestly better if just walk to Tesco and get a meal-deal.

I had to wait over 2 hours for my order I rang numerous times and was told 20 mins each time … rude staff … the app was telling me it was being checked and cut for over an hour and a half and then it said “enjoy” your order as it was delivered (it was delivered another hour after this)!! Moreover When it finally arrived arrived it was stone cold and we couldn’t eat it money down the drain …I complained to the delivery driver who told to me to call the store (it was closed by this time) he stated they had no drivers why he had taken so long, I asked him to pass on to the store that I couldn’t eat the pizza as it was cold ! I would have gone to the store if it was not past one o’clock in the morning ..!! Unbelievably poor customer service and product at this store and I won’t be going back and I am claiming my money back!! Please use ANY OTHER pizza store in Brentwood not Papa Johns

all of it is great with hygene but the stuffed-crussed isn't great as the cheese is horrible in it but on the pizza is is yum

I have never been spoken to so rudely by a delivery driver before in my life! The man called from outside my flat, told me that if I didn’t come down within 1 minute he would drive away pizza delivered or not! I asked him if he would deliver to my actual door (2nd floor flat in smallish block) as I was not fully dressed, with an ankle injury. Driver talked to me aggressively, to the point where I felt verbally abused! Said either I could collect from outside or he’d leave, absolutely no intention of completing the delivery. He was shouting, speaking to me like I was someone inconveniencing him, and I was simply asking him to complete the delivery. When I called the store, they said that the delivery driver wasn’t prepared to deliver into my building and so they’d have to simply refund me and cancel the order. I am still shocked that I was just spoken to by a employee like this! Will never use again!!

Honestly, I must start off by saying how impressed I was with the quality of the vegetarian Chilli Freak pizza we ordered. It was arguably perfectly done with a delicious crust and tantalisingly good amounts of spice and heat — it’s just a shame with what came before it. During a time of scrutiny where hygiene measures should be paramount within the food industry and takeaway kitchens, we were hugely disappointed to see staff at work not abiding by these guidelines, not wearing masks, beard nets, gloves and, terribly, handling meat without washing their hands before spreading vegetarian toppings. This is very, very poor and something I will write to Papa John’s directly about because (as pictured) zero attention or care is seemingly given to their customers behind the scenes. Not even wearing disposable gloves or masks with COVID-19 being so prevalent is something I find deeply unsettling. It’s therefore challenging for me to award Papa John’s in Brentwood anything more than two star. We also must address the costs of food on their menu. For solely a large pizza, you can be paying nearly 20 GBP which is exorbitant! There is a distinct lack of friendly customer service and I imagine waiting times can be fairly long when the place is busy. So, all in all, whilst the pizza might have been delectable and makes formidable opposition when compared to a Pizza Hut order, behind the scenes there really is a great deal of work seemingly to be done. Quite dire hygiene it appears.

We ordered a pizza late at night as it was the only place open. The food took over two hours. We phoned them three times to chase up the delivery. We also gave special requests to not knock on the front door and to ring us when they were outside so we could collect the food. On the phone the staff was very rude and said any orders take 1 hour and 45 minutes, which is absolute rubbish. When you order on just eat it gives you an estimated time anyway! When the pizza arrived of course they knocked on the door and disregarded our requests we made over the phone. All in all a terrible experience and won’t be bothering again.

How can it take over 2 hours for a pizza. Rude staff when called. Basically a lump it approach. Never again. Competition here we come.

after looking through the menu of different pizzas ,sides and desserts we made our choice and while waiting it was quite interesting watching the chefs making the pizzas and noted that the toppings were fresh and not frozen ,which was a plus. our choice of "american hot" pizza which included jalapeno slices was superb and the hot "choc chip cookie" dessert was a good contrast after our spicy pizza -- all very enjoyable and we look forward to our next visit .

I wish I had read the terrible reviews here before I ordered a take away pizza from this awful branch. Two hours and two phone calls later my order eventually arrived. Cold and not what we ordered! The manager is rude and lies about when to expect the delivery and who from. No compensation offered. The most appalling experience. Avoid at all costs.

The service in this takeaway is appalling- their deliveries are always late, with no aplology- they employ the rudest most ignorant staff I have ever dealt with- I would never use them again, and I will not only never buy a pizza from papa johns as a company again- but will ensure I tell everyone I know about my negative experience, clearly they could not care less about the service they offer, the reputation of their company, and how they treat their customers!!!!! Do yourself a favour and go to one of the many other restaurants in Brentwood instead, who will appreciate your patronage a whole lot more!!

I ordered my food at 19:00 for delivery at 20:15. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for 15 minuets extra and still no sign of my food. I rang them at 20:30 and they told me they had just put it in the oven. So by 21:00/21:15 my food finally turns up. Almost an hour late. Just waited 45 minutes for our Two for Tuesday delivery, my husband phoned to see how long it would be, to be told extremely rudely that it will be another 2 hour wait as they are too busy. My husband asked why no one had phoned to say that it was such a long wait and exact words “it’s not my problem it’s taking to long, you’ll just have to wait”. My husband asked for the name and all he would say is John. Will not be ordering from Papa Johns Brentwood again!

Always hot pizzas, lovely choice and good variety and quantity of toppings. Some good deals to be had make pricing viable - £22 for an xxxl pizza at regular price is not workable for me! Delivery is USUALLY good, however, I had a two hour wait a few weeks ago, was called by the manager to tell me I could have free drinks and two free sides on my next order... which was then forgotten about when I did reorder.

A great variety, very tasty pizzas with good quantity and quality of toppings. Bases are nice and crispy as well. Service has been good for us, pizzas arrive hot. Would have been 5 stars if pricing was more in line with some other local pizza restaurants.

Large Mexican Pizza (thin crust). It arrived 20 mins early and only luke warm. Possibly the worst pizza I have ever tasted. It was sparsely covered in tasteless ingredients and an inspid toamto sauce was thinly smeareed over part of the base. They must be scared of running out of mozzerella too because they hardly scattered any cheese on it. The thin crust I ordered tasted cardboardy and was very disappointing. There was nothing to say this resembled proper italian pizza with a bit of flair, especially considering this product was really quite expensive at over £15. In the end I cut out the middle man. after eating 3 slices and threw it in the bin. The cardboard box had a better texture and possibly better flavour too! RUBBISH!

We was looking forward to ordering papa johns for a birthday treat. Well the service from the lady on the phone was outrageous. The way she speaks to customers is unreal!!! Very unhelpful and not willing to help. Asked to speak to the manager and the conversation got worse. I don't think these people know how to speak to their customers. You want your customers to return at the end of the day that what makes you money. I think some employees at papa johns need to go on a customer service course and learn how to speak to customers politely. I wouldn't even speak to a dog like it!!! I think also they should be allowed to deliver up to 5 miles due to other competitors out there deliver more than 5 miles, these people know how to make happy guests.

They were like a lifesaver,ordered at saturday night after 11:30pm and about to go out in an hour to london and my food order was delivered in 20mins,what a legend!!!me recomended to the rest of party animals out there for rush-edge-latenight orders but make sure first that they arent that busy and not far away from you,food is perfect and good people to deal with your late night parties,very happy and satisfied for the orders

Following previous unpleasant experiences at Papa Johns Brentwood, I decided to give them another chance and order a Pizza from them on Saturday evening. ID16372770. Upon arrival at the store I was told that the order had not been received. I proceeded to show them the order number and confirmation on my phone, to which the unnamed manager refused to accept that it had been placed with them. I requested to place the order over the counter to which he agreed but wanted to charge me almost double. I refused, and asked why. He would not give me an answer, and told me the order had not been received and he wanted me to order at the new price, even though my Barclaycard had already been charged. When I asked for his name he refused to give it to me, and he was not wearing a name badge. He then proceeded to ask again if I was going to pay the new price. I said I would not be, and he responded saying 'Get out then'. I questioned this, and he raised his voice and had security escort me out. Fortunately the security guard is a well known figure in the area and extremely pleasant, quite unlike the unnamed manager of Papa Johns.Following this, I immediately phoned Barclaycard and they confirmed that Papa Johns had taken the payment, therefore they will have to start a dispute with them as 'goods' had not been received. CCTV would of course show this.I would recommend people err on the side of caution before looking to order with them.

If I ever want a pizza I go to Papa Johns. Really tasty and hot, the delivery service is excellent and always turns up hot and on time. Cannot fault it.

Nothing wrong with the service though slow which is odd considering it's was quiet when I went there . It isn't that.... just a personal preference is that I don't enjoy the pizza. They do garlic dip which isn't s nice as the one on dominos. Was cheaper than dominos though

I ordered online for five of us and put in all the info... no cheese on this one, no peppers on that one etc... however I was worried it would be wrong.... it wasn't! Happy days!Easy ordering online during the day for an evening delivery, specified time (and they were on time) and paid via PayPal... couldn't have been easier. 33% off discount offer at the time too.

We had a late delivery to the Premier Inn. Although we spoke to them first we were redirected online to get an offer (which saved us £6). Delivery when the order was placed was quick and the Pizza was pipping hot when it arrived.

Had almost finished our meals when my partner found a foreign object in his food (looked like a toenail) We are awaiting a refund.

I placed an order here when visiting friends and was served the complete wrong food. A short call to the store established that the orders had been mixed up and a fresh order was despatched straight away with complementaries as an apology. The food was very good, arrived hot and was clearly fresh cooked. Particularly notable is the professional attitude of the staff in dealing with a simple error.

We lived in the US for a small period about 7-8 years ago and we loved Papa Johns. Years later I was once driving down Brentwood high street and saw the sign for this fantastic pizza place! Buffalo wings and pepperoni pizza with jalapeno's are our favourite choices. Great takeaway food and we love it 1-2 a month!
