Papa John's Pizza in Hertsmere

10 days ago I ordered pizza and starter after work. They called in 10 minutes and told me don’t have deliver up to an hour. It was late so I asked them to cancel and refund me. They said I have to do. I said it’s not possible as I ordered through on line. Then they said we going to refund u. After 3 times called they promised next day still they have not refund me! It’s really unprofessional and not trustworthy business!!!! Not good at all. There is even no complaint policy they have in place at least I Potters bar branch !!!

Driver, unpleasant, grunting very rude.

Normally, I order Papa Johns as take away, and I savour every bite of that beautifully thin dough, thick crust and melt-in-your-mouth cheese. However, the only reason that stopped me from giving this establishment 5 stars was the service. Several times I have had to phone up Papa Johns to keep track of my delivery. All I ask of this pizza place is to treat their customers with full disclosure. For example, just a few Papa Johns’ employees normally tell me that they are busy and are trying and I may have to wait. Want I wanted to hear was, ‘we have received your order, but are very busy and will get to it as soon as we can.’ This is just a minor issue which can easily be changed, what is important is the quality of the food, which is outstanding. Will be ordering again.

I have not ordered at Papa Johns for a while. Since the last time, I have found the pizza too salty... not sure if they have added too much salt to the flour or the ingredients, but it tasted different from the last time I ordered. It seems there is inconsistency among the different places. I like trying different stores, still looking for the best one. The price is fair, especially if you compare it to the Italian restaurants which now sell pizza more expensive than gold. I rate this branch as an average one: neither too good and nor too bad.

Been using them for years - always been fine. They’re now incapable of delivering what you ask for, rectifying mistakes, refunding errors, following up and even pretending that they care. The staff sound as if they expect as little from the whole enterprise as I now do. I will never eat here again. If you like pizza - proper pizza - pick up the phone to Di Napoli in Potters Bar. They’re wonderful.

The order arrived very late, I called the restaurant twice to check what are the updates, each time I was told that it’s coming soon. When finally food arrived, it wasn’t hot anymore, and did not enjoy it at all. I think it’s the last time ordering from this branch. It happened in the past.

The last twice we have had our Pizza from Papa John’s Potters Bar we have been very unimpressed with the service we have received. We ordered on line for collection and each time the on line progress report has not been updated. The first time this happened I went to the shop an hour after the order was placed only to find that there was only one person in the store trying to deal with everything from preparing and cooking the pizza to answering the phone. Tonight again the order wasn’t updated on line, we went down to the shop only to find that the pizza was ready but on line had not been updated. The result was the Pizza was not as hot as it should be and therefore not so enjoyable. When we asked why it hadn’t been advised as we should have been we didn’t have a satisfactory response possibly because the server didn’t have a basic understanding of the English language or pretend not to understand. No apology was forthcoming. With the amount of Pizza companies in the town I would suggest people avoid Papa John’s until they sort their staff out.

I ordered a bbq meat pizza. It was so dry and didn’t taste anything like bbq. Didn’t enjoy it at all.

Waste of money... My third order and third time disappointed.. you have to wait for it forever and pizza comes in cold, charred and doesn’t taste of anything … I use to ordered from them every 7-10 days and pizza was great until several months ago when all the staff there have changed.. I will definitely never order again and I don’t recommend it to anyone!

I ordered a pizza with 10 toppings for delivery, but when it arrived there were only 3. I phoned straight away and they immediately said they had made a mistake and would send me a voucher for a free pizza. Nothing arrived, so I sent an inquiry on their website. Eventually they responded asking for details of the phone call and a photo of the pizza. After I sent that, they replied again saying they were looking into it. It is now ONE MONTH later and I have not had any further response. Very disappointing, as I used to like ordering pizza from here, but obviously I won’t be doing that again.

Ordered pizza and drink for a second time in one month delivery came both times both missing an otdm first time it was a side last night was a bottle of coke. Called restraunt to be rudly told restraunt is closed and delivery driver will deliver coke without asking adress dreadful customer service and dreadful rude customer service

Was going to order as usual and 3x medium pizzas were £75 delivered!!! Instead, we ordered from independent place that do authentic pizzas (Macaroni - few doors down) and came to £38 delivered. Double the price for half the quality. Serious need to rethinking pricing.

We ordered through just eat time for delivery was 19.15/19.35 after calling at 20.15 to be told 10min called again 21.00 it arrived 21.35 .I won't be ordering from them again 😡😡😡

Told it would take 10 minutes on the phone. I turned up after 15 minutes to be told it will be a further 10 minutes... my pizza wasn't even in the oven

Multiple missed items, 2 hours late.

Absolute joke of a place! This is what we got delivered for £24!! The delivery wasn't even £1 so the pizza plus a bottle of pepsi came to £23....the pizza is about 10 inches (size wasn't specified so we assumed it would be bigger based on the price) Also it took an hour to come and arrived cold.

Ordered a pizza and took over and hour, we called them and they said that they don’t do the pizza we ordered anymore and we should have called earlier.

Probably one of the worst experiences I have had ordering a pizza. I ordered online through the app, We called to check on our pizza after 45 minutes. We were told it would be 15 minutes and that they were busy. We rang 20 minutes later. When the store eventually picked up we were told that the driver was not back but it would be another 10 minutes. Eventually over an hour since the original order was placed we had a guy deliver on a bike. The order, as we feared was cold. We tried to call the store numerous times but it we were just ignored. We had to warm the pizza in our microwave. Very, very disappointed in our service with this brand. We have received a £5 voucher this morning apologising for the late arrival of our meal. They know where they can put that. Awful communication. We should have had a full refund. Will not be using ever again.

Always the best pizza, tasty, friendly staff and great offers. Newly renovated branch in Potters Bar very clean.

DEAD SPIDER FOUND IN PIZZA!!!! NOT EVEN 1 STAR. Absolutely disgusting, first time ordering and will NEVER order from there AGAIN. The workers obviously didn’t check the pizza before sending it out! Never been to the store but it must be infested with bugs for one to end up in my order. Horrible service.

Deliver man is rubbish he didn’t bring my order to my flat I am disabled person he ask me come down and take your order he saying but I tell him I am disable person I can’t come downstairs but he didn’t bring it to my order to my flat ,he is very rude and angry person!!

I live no more than a 2 minute drive from Papa Johns, Potters bar. Yet every time I order my pizza it takes well over an hour to arrive. Even though the App says "It's on its way" for over an hour.

Ordered pizza and as seen in photos they came vey burnt. Called them and was told another 2 will be delivered been waiting over 2 hours and nothing. Trying to call and engaged constantly

Great value, I ordered the buy one get one for £1 deal so ended up with 2 large pizzas! I love their pizzas and I was fascinated to watch them make them while I waited too!

Really good! live down in Brookmans Park/Essendon so finding good takeaways that will deliver is really difficult. Used them a quite a few times and pizza has been excellent, always hot and arrives well a head of time. Quite surprised to see a lot of negative reviews ? Not sure what that’s about. Highly recommend, delivery driver is always friendly.

The title pretty much says everything there is to say. I tried to call 3 times to find out where the food was. First 2 times, the line rang out with no answer. Third time, “it’s on the way”. How is that helpful??!!

45 minutes wait and following a phone call I was told that the pizza is in the oven and will be at least 30 MORE minutes. No apology offered, just plain and simple rude attitude. Order elsewhere if you want you pizza within a reasonable amount of time

Ordered from here loads of times and always been really good but tonight ordered a double pepperoni pizza Mexican heatwave and cheesy garlic bread, it got delivered, opened my pizza up and it was burnt to smithereens and considering the pepperoni is a topping they decided they were gonna put it under the cheese which you couldn't taste, mum phoned them up and tried saying that it was the pan it was cooked in but funny how my mum's pizza was fine and it was deep pan as well, they were arguing on phone saying that's how it gets cooked, sent another pizza out, still burnt and by the time it arrived weren't even hungry, wouldn't even give one star rating but can't give a zero, man who answered phone was really rude, won't be using them again....

Would always order here rather than dominos. Pizza is great love the BBQ chicken. Last night it took about an hour for piZza to arrive which is fine. But every other time I've ordered it's been a wait of between 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours to get to me and I'm 10 mins away. Would keep ordering from here though.

Always late and don't answer the phone

Absolutely disgusting service! Ordered two pizzas for collection and both were not the ones we ordered. It was too late had already got home and started eating them before we noticed. We then phoned up to complain and was not offered any compensation even on the box of the pizza it says if you don't like it they will deliver 1 free of charge. DO NOT BUY from here. This place has the worst management team this isn't my first time Its been my third time coming here and it is not even worth 1 star.

I ordered online, a pizza, two sides and two drinks. I ordered at 2:40pm and got it at 3:00 which is perfect because I start work at 4:00. The food was hot and yummy. Can't fault it! Thank you <3

Ordered on-line and was advised that my delicious pizzas would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived to collect after 20 minutes and was advised that it wouldn't be ready and they can't update the customer if it is ordered on-line. So .........wait another 20 minutes or get a refund - which will take 3 to 5 days to reach my account. So I wait - and watch the chaos ensuing - box after box of customer orders waiting to be cooked and more orders arriving every minute. In short - there are much better organised Pizza places in Potters Bar - try Pizza Gogo or DeNapolia who never let you down or keep you waiting and at least apologise if on the rare occasions they get it wrong.

Having the grandchildren round and my guitar lesson after I got home from work I thought I would be cooking well into the night. I offered to treat us all to a takeaway pizza! As we live out a bit. I phoned Papa Johns in Potter Bar in the afternoon to confirm that they delivered, as I know they go the extra mile!! That they supply the pizzas we liked, and they could deliver at the time we wanted. However, looking at the reviews I thought I was going to be somewhat disappointed. Wow was I wrong. I phoned Papa Johns, they confirmed who I was by giving them my telephone number. I asked them to deliver at 7 o'clock 7:02 they arrive with four very tasty pizzas. So in my opinion this is a five star delivery service, with a five star taste! thanks Papa Johns at Potters bar! Ide'F

The worse service and the worst pizza I have ever had .......!!!!!!!!!

One hour and twenty minutes for a delivery less than five miles from the store. When rang to seen what the delay was with the store no real apology given , just we had a system problem. They were obviously aware of a problem a little customer service would have been nice with a phone call as a number is provided when ordering. Maybe it's time to start using another major pizza provider. As the last time we used the Potters Bar branch I was rang stating we are outside your address and when I checked no-one could be seen. I rang the driver back to be found that he was at the wrong address. This again resulted in a considerable delay.

Absolutely disgusting service! Called for a pizza at 8.10pm was told 30-40 mins at 9pm I called to see where it was and was told there was a system problem but my pizza had gone out! Called again at 9.20 to be told my pizza left 10 mins ago to cal again at 9.40 to be told it left 5 minutes a go and they don't see why I should get a discount for the manager to then come on the phone and say the driver just walked back in and had dropped my pizza! All rude and even slammed the phone down! Not even apologetic!

Ordered a mushroom and ham pizza for a family - but when I got home could see barely no mushrooms and no evidence of meat. It may appear cheap but it works out really expensive if all you are getting is a piece of bread with cheese on it. Won't be going there again.

Pizza was fab and good quality . The op pings received were he ours and found the flavour was far better than local competitors. The service at the front desk was good , attentive and friendly.

The pizzas we ordered were great. Let's be honest, you will not beat handmade, thin-crust, family owned pizzeria pizza ever, full-stop, suitcase down, point made, etc. etc. etc. But, when you're stuck in a Days Inn on a motorway services for a week and there's nothing other than overpriced kfc, subway and burger king to hand, you're going to ring a little further afield. We did the whole on-line voucher thing (which PJ's offer globally, making it look like a great offer but any and everybody gets it), Now, sans offer, their prices are ridiculous... exorbitantly, prohibitively so. That said, with the voucher applied they were in-line with takeaway pizza prices countrywide. Where they differed was upon arrival, it was one of the best takeaway pizzas I've ever had. I ordered the Works and my gf enjoyed the Hawaiian. Be warned... if you want the half-and-half (as we did) it severely restricts your toppoing choices. :(

Excellent pizzas, fast delivery, including to Cuffley. Prices vary significantly when there are deals on, full price pizzas are a bit pricey.
