The franchise owner, Sam (30+yrs) is awful, a cocaine addict on probation dating a 16/17 year old who lacks any type of manners, the store itself is not that great either speaking of service and food quality including the speed of service. Highly not recommended if you ask me. Ever wondered why his 2 other stores closed? If you want good food that guarantee wont give you food poisoning hop over to dominos 👍

If it was possible to give no star I would. Placed an order and I was told 30 to 40mins...this is an hour 30mins I haven't seen anything...called and the staff and I complained about not getting my order and the staff said "huh". There was no apology for the delay...this is so rude...never ordering from them again....you need to do better

Had a large pizza delivered within 25 minutes. It was on offer so got a good deal. It was pipping hot and tasty. The delivery man was very polite too. Well recommended.

Only papa John's left in Wales. So glad to have been able to hand my favourite pizza. Even if it meant going 20 miles out of my way.

I tried giving Papa John’s in Merthyr Tydfil another chance and once again received an awful delivery service. I’m unsure if this particular franchise has poorly trained their delivery staff in this particular area as every time I have delivered from this establishment then it would seem that they constantly deliver to the wrong location and/or deliver do late that the food is delivered cold. Stay away

Shop got my order wrong then refused to remake correctly. Franchise owner is a waste of oxygen. If I could give less than one star I would. Will NEVER. Steal money from me again.

Ordered for the first time and it was absolutely dog s**t. Food freezing and just not edible. Phoned to complain. Passed to a manager named Fion who just couldn’t be bothered and so abrupt. Avoid at all costs unless you want dog food

Staff are wonderful but the owner has a stinking attitude towards them likes to brag about his money in front of staff but yet makes u18s work overtime illegally and underpays staff what they should be earning

Absolutely shocking portion sizes! £6.99 for vegan cheese potato tots and the portion sizes wouldn’t even feed a new born baby. If I can upload a photo I will but absolutely shocking for what you pay!!!

we ordered twice my daughter likes they garlic bread we keep getting the wrong delivery.phone up and tell them about the mistake and they said the order is on its way.hour later same reply.shocking service.no more

Unless you fancy getting a cold pizza that takes 2 hours to be delievered I wouldn't bother. Slices were so unevenly cut. I got huge slices next to tiny slices. Pizza was soggy and was impossible to break away a slice without ripping the pizza apart.

Absolutely fantastic pizza from Papa John's. Loads of choice. Loads of toppings and plenty of cheese and superb quality always cooked to perfection. Staff at Merthyr are always great. Always look like they're having a good time behind the counter. Happy and polite. The works pizza is absolutely amazing best I've ever tasted. Never had a bad experience there. I honestly can not understand how any one would go to Dominoes when they can get a Papa John's. They blow Dominoes out the water.

Get abuse from the delivery drive absolutely rude obnoxious people

Great service and friendly staff. The girl at the counter even searched for and applied an additional discount that we weren't aware of. The pizzas were ready quickly and were delicious. We sat outside using their tables and chairs which worked well for us.

One of the best around but lacks 5 stars through their being no delivery option to the town of Rhymney, it would only be 20 minutes by car. Both Tredegar and Ebbw Vale takeaways offer delivery service to the area and the food arrives hot. I don't understand why Papa John's fo not. Considering they are best in the area by a long mile, so much business is lost by not delivering to the next Borough which falls under Rhymney Merthyr through sitting on the border line of both.

Placed an order online, 15mins later walked in the shop, order was waiting for me, piping hot. They offered to give me a hand to the car. Can't fault them. Excellent

Last thing that I eat was papa johns. Pizza was undercooked and slapped together, took over 2 hours to arrive and now me and my partner are aggressively ill. won’t ever be having this again. stay away by the looks they don’t know what they are doing. Absolute shambles when I say that we are ill I mean real bad.

Perfect ordering online service, no hassle and food ready when they said it would be! It was between papa johns and dominos. Papa Johns won hands down as they have a better selection for vegetarians. Top tip: The Greek pizza is delicious!

Really disappointed....wedges were soggy, pizza did not have the extra toppings that were clearly stated on the order and paid for. Never again!

Long time waiting for delivery 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pizza without BBQ sauce. Awful experience. I don't recommend that company. Cold pizza!!!!!!!!! 😩

Ordered online 7:29, arrived in store 7:40ish. A bit early, the guy (Carl?) took my name and I waited. And I waited... 8:00 came and passed... It got too about 8:10/15, kids started needing the toilet etc and I asked what was going on, adding if it wasn't ready soon, could I cancel as I wanted to get home at some point. The same guy (appeared to be in charge) then cancelled the order with no further comment (I thought he was checking the order on the computer or something), no indication of how long of a time or anything, so I can only assume it was still quite a ways away. On the way out one of the delivery guys apologised and told us an oven was broken (?) so things were delayed, we pointed out if someone had bothered mentioning this to us in the store things it would have been nice. Still awaiting my refund too. Also witnessed the weird strategy of a members of staff picking up the phone and immediately hanging up while I was in there too...

Always great tasting pizzas and the garlic sauce that comes with it tastes sooo good! Great service too and usually some good deals online too

Ordered a collection last weekend half tandoori spice half Chicken burger both sides were missing toppings 4 altogether basically just threw anything on there and by the mess on the pizza threw it around the store before I collected it. Called back to try and explain half the toppings were missing no answer as usual. Should of knocked it on the head when I ordered was greeted after about 20 rings with some thug shouting PAPA JOHN'S! down the phone what a hole.

Arrived late and cold. Had to microwave it. But still tasted nice, would of been better if warm

World class service, good pizza and quick delivery drivers. What's not to like

There pizza's are unbelievable makes domino's look like asda frozen pizza's, love the cookies, cinnamon pull a parts and garlic knots I just can't fault them in any way food is always pipping hot, you haven't lived until you've had Papa John's.

Generally get a good pizza and better ingredients than the competition, garlic dip goes straight into the bin. Official website is a waste of time, use the Just eat app no problems phoning and order through.

Really nice, ordered from here a few times and after reading all these suspicious reviews about "food poisoning" all from people who've made no before or since thought id add my own genuine one.

Poor customer service from the manager and also they ran out of pre prepared food so they cooked frozen meat which they had to run through the oven twice, food hygiene is appalling, mixing meat cutters with vegetable cutters, would not recommend.

Pizza`s ok nothing special.Better ones can be purchased from supermarkets at about 20% of the cost here. I wouldn`t buy the dipping sauces again as extras, honey, mustard, garlic etc and they were not very nice to boot,I expected some sort of warm sauce but they came in foil covered pots which tasted a bit yukky.We were lucky the was a promotion on as it would have been a very expensive experience,although there could be some sort of promotion on all the time for what I know.

Ordered two pizzas (which were wrong and cold) and a side of garlic knots. We got sent cinnamon knots. Took nearly 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone to tell them that the order was wrong and couldn't hear the person because the kitchen area was so loud. Really not impressed. We then had to wait another hour for our other pizzas. Wouldn't recommend

Ridiculous customer service! Took over 30 mins to get through by phone to be told i have to wait longer even tho the food was over an hour late already!!

The tastiest pizza I've eaten in a while , only took 15 minutes to get it ready for collection and very friendly staff. Thanks guys, will definitely order again from you when in your town !
