Papa John's Pizza in Wirral

Ordered almost £45 of food for collection . Vegan pizzas and sides. Driving to store and received a call to say they had no vegan food and refund would take 3-4 days. No mention on app that they didnt have what I was ordering. Took my money without question. Customer Service team later told me the store didnt initiate the refund so it was delayed. Customer Service said it would be investigated and would get back to me but i’ve heard nothing after 2 weeks. Very disappointing service all round.

First and last Papa Johns experience - Wrong food was delivered and didn’t pick up the phone after 11+ attempts of calling up to correct error. waste of money will be seeking a refund

Delivered cold an hour and a half after ordering, in a filthy bag, by a guy on a pushbike who had no idea where he was and who couldn’t understand a word I said to him at the door. Absolute shambles.

Devastated. It's been an hour, no sign of delivery even after paying delivery charge. No answer in phone. Shame. Can't even get an update on Delivery.

Oh crap! If you can believe that any food company would use rehydrated dog kibble and put it on a pizza .. believe this, it is my opinion that pappa johns are doing just that. 🤮

Had a few pizzas from Papa John's recently all been really good and fast delivery one of the orders had a mistake with toppings I phoned up and they sent out the correct pizza in about 10 minutes. Really good service will definitely be using them in the future

Pizzas take 2 hrs could literally get to italy quicker

Judging by others on here seems to be an ongoing issue with ordering any time after 10 even though they say they're open until 11, why accept orders and take payment if they have no intention of actually making/delivering the order 🤷‍♂️

The boy from there called Ritik ... very good lad and very professional he can sort out any problems with your orders also the staff from there all very friendly and the food very good coked and very tasty.

Just got an order from just eat today and its absolutely amazing. The pizza beats dominos by miles. And the bacon genuinly reminded me of christmas pigs in a blanket. 100% recommend.

The food we did receive that was correct was OK and hot enough. They got two out of the five things we ordered wrong. We rang to ask to change it. They said they would. Rang again, they had not redone it and said we could have the pizza tomorrow instead!! I asked for a refund, they said no. I asked to speak to a manager. I was told there was no one there but we could have a refund and a free pizza but not until tomorrow... no delivery drivers. Seems to be an ongoing issue!!!! Service is so so poor!!!! The phone line is terrible!!!

Food arrived early, and the papadias were piping hot and delicious. And, when I say hot I mean, I had to blow on it to eat it, scalding hot! The Cinnapie sticks were good but I think they could've been improved with the addition of a thin layer of fresh, sliced, apple or similar under the crumble topping before they went in the oven...at least, if they had *something* healthy in them, I wouldn't feel quite so guilty eating them!

Customer service is not great. Promised a refund on a two and half hour wait for food and never received the refund. Food quality has gone right down! Hacked at pizzas and half over done and oily and cold. Back to Domino's pizza for us.

Absolutely shocking, ordered at 10:20pm, took £50 out my account, then cancelled at 11:10pm because they had no driver. Shouldn’t have accepted order knowing they have no drivers then tell me refund can take 48 hours! Shocking customer service on the phone too

Food was absolutely freezing, would help if the driver had a proper bag to put it in! Pizza was ok, the rest was horrible, bland undercooked and freezing. Massive disappointment

Worst Papa Johns I have ever used, food took 2 hours to arrive and I’m not joking it was stone cold. I rang to complain and woman (manager) said there was only one driver. I said so it’s been sitting on the side for all that time going cold and she genuinely laughed. I said it’s completely out of line and her words were when the driver turned up if I didn’t send the food out the driver wouldn’t get paid. So she knew the food wasn’t upto standard and sent it anyway.

The Tandoori Chicken Poppers were tepid but the Papadias was hit and tasty.

Food was good and hot. Kids loved everything, pity I didn't get much of it, but will try again soon

I've always had the Philly cheese steak pizza in another country & used to be heavy loaded with meat that one could never hold it steady and was keen to order again but it was shocking so poor and not worth the price at all!

Total order £50 and Worst take away I have ever had £20 on a pizza that I could of had better from Aldi first and last time ordering from here , chicken wings that were half cooked also

Order never turned up, they don’t answer the phone and when I got through 3 hours later, they asked me to call in if I wanted a pizza, I cancelled my order and still got charged, had to contact head office to get a refund. Worst service from a pizza delivery. Would definitely never use these again. Terrible!

I would NOT order from here if you want your pizza to be delivered! I ordered two pizzas at 10.11pm. By 10.26pm it was showing as 'cutting and checking' on the delivery status update. At 11.38pm, as I am writing this review, it is still showing as 'cutting and checking' and there is no sign of my pizza being delivered. Twice I have both called and emailed. Both were not responded to. Papa Johns have taken my money and not delivered my pizzas. I am fuming, as well as starving! UPDATE NEXT DAY OF ORDER I checked the app at lunchtime the day after my order and it was still showing as 'cutting and checking'! Nobody had responded to my emails, so I called again and asked to make a complaint. The person who took my call did not apologise at all and said the manager would call me back at 4pm. I waited until 5.30pm and as the manager still hadn't called, I called again. The person who answered and asked what my problem was also didn't apologise. I got the speak to the manager who wouldn't give me her name and also didn't apologise when I explained what had happened. The manager was extremely rude and kept talking over me, telling me Papa Johns has taken on an external company to provide delivery services and they didn't have a driver last night and this often happens. I had to explain to the manager that surely a Papa Johns employee should then call me to explain that my pizzas that had been paid for and were supposedly cooked and checked were not going to get delivered. Such basic customer service seemed alien to the manageress. I asked for the manageress' boss' name and contact details so I could make a complaint. She wouldn't provide me with either her or her boss' names. To add insult to injury, I had to tell the manageress that she needs to refund me for the pizzas that weren't delivered. I will put money on the fact Papa Johns would not have refunded my money if I wouldn't have been so forceful.

Pizza was cold but i still ate it, the dessert was perfect.

Awful, tracker said pizzas came out of oven and were ready for delivery, tracker then didn't change for 40 mins, so I phoned, they said waiting for a driver. I asked about the pizzas going cold, rude staff said 'yes its ready' and hung up. Pizzas arrived over an hour later, delivery driver didn't have a heated bag, pizzas were freezing cold and rock solid. AVOID THIS PLACE NOW

Wow! This place has gone downhill FAST! Used to love the quality of the food and the service but they have completely changed recently. Made my usual order spending around £40 and it took FOREVER to get to the delivery stage. When it arrived it transpires they are now using taxis to deliver and the driver refused to enter the building and deliver it to me. (Housebound - Assisted living complex). Had to cancel and it took forever to get a refund. Don't bother.

Papa johns have chosen greed over customer satisfaction and it shows from other peoples reviews. I had the unfortunate task of spending the week with the staff that are currently there and they just didn’t care about preparing good food, food would be left on the shelf up to 30 mins at a time getting cold and never witnessed a single person wash their hand which should be done regularly when handling food and they have terrible customer service skills. It doesn’t look like anything is going to change in that place so I would save your pennies or go somewhere where they actually care about customers food and satisfaction.

I recently had a positive experience at Papa John's wallasey, and I want to highlight the excellent customer service. The tall man standing at counter stood out for his politeness, sharpness, and hard work. He demonstrated great customer dealing skills. Overall, the staff's humility added to the positive experience, making it a place I'd recommend for both the delicious pizza and exceptional service.

Prefer Papa John's to other pizza places but this store is appalling for service. Always seem to wait 45 mins or more just to get pizza in the oven. Absolute joke

order came and part of it was missing. spoke to papa johns wallasey and they said they couldn't send out the missing items. terrible service.

Usually my go to place for pizza, but won’t be ordering again. 90 minutes after placing an order, the status still showed ‘preparing’. After nine calls to the store, I still couldn’t speak to a staff member to cancel my order. Awful service.

Used to order from here all the time but like others have found that it's gone down hill rapidly! Large american hot pizza came stone cold and flat as a pancake, no cheese and was like cardboard. No where near worth the money, so I shall be requesting a refund, when/if they ever respond! Also paid for 8 special garlic dips and only received 5(and 3 garlic and herbdips, that noone likes 🤢) No longer going to be a returning customer. So disappointed as papa johns used to be my favourite!

Awful service ordered last Monday didn't turn up after a lot of messing about got told it wouldn't be delivered and a refund will take 4-5 days still waiting for it to go into bank. Will be going to store to get this sorted absolute joke!

Something has happened to this place. I've been a satisfied and returning customer for many years; However, something went seriously wrong with my order yesterday! I ordered four XXL pizzas, but on opening up our order discovered that we actually had three XXL pizzas and one large. We didn't notice when receiving the order as the large pizza had been sneakily packaged in an XXL box. I know that ALL XXL pizzas fit snuggly into the XXL box, as the other three XXL pizzas of our order did. It was staringly obvious that this was not a XXL pizza. Pizzas were also received cold and with incorrect sauces that we don't like so they had to be binned. All four pizzas didn't have the usual grease paper underneath, which made the boxes extremely wet and greasy. One thick black pubic hair was also found on one of the pizzas, which is obviously unacceptable. Only one of the XXL pizzas was cut correctly into 12 pieces. The remaining two XXL pizzas were cut into 10 pieces. The incorrectly received large pizza was correctly cut into 10 pieces; However, this should have been an XXL pizza! For years I've been telling friends and family that your place was the best pizza around, but after yesterday's performance never again. Judging by recent reviews I think this highlights some urgent staff training needs. I cannot see myself being a returning customer.

Absolute joke, 2 weeks in a row ordered pizza for 8pm. Pizza came at 6pm and I was not in phoned me and said pizza here. When explained to them I wasn't in they would deliver at 8pm, pizza didn't come to well after 9pm reheated and like cardboard, 2nd time was informed no delivery drivers and the order did not go though there system and asked me to come to the shop or pizza would not be here till 11pm, got a refund but not for 7 days because they are absolute useless and new staff that hsve no idea what they are doin. Go to domino's pizza, comes on time everytime with no issues. If I could zero stars I would doesn't deserve one.

Pizza took nearly 3 hours to turn up on a Tuesday night. Rang up after 2 hours to be told they didn't have a delivery driver, asked for a refund as I had already paid online and that's when she decided she did have a driver after all! Always order from here but won't be any more. Put the order in at 5:15 and didn't get my food until 8:30 and that was only because I had to go and collect it, plenty of other people also waiting having the same issue.

Never normally would leave a bad review, id usually just not put one if wasnt happy. But this was awful. Pizza looked like it had been dropped, all topping was at 1 edge of the box, didnt deliver all my order. Pointless ringing shop because by time it would of got delivered we would have already ate what we had and had to wait twice. I would upload pics if was possible. Disapointed given that its not a cheap pizza place. Expectd better service

Wallasey store. Absolute joke. Always use Papa Johns. Ordered at 6-30pm and nothing delivered by 9pm. Rang store and was told 30 minutes. Nothing by 10pm rang back and was told waiting for a driver but couldn’t give a time. Cancelled order…….20 minutes later order arrives. I refused to take it. Dominoes next time.

Took over 5 hours to deliver a pizza. They wouldn't answer the phone when I called multiple times. They finally did and told me they had no delivery drivers on and it'd be another 30 mins...which is mad because they're still accepting delivery orders as I'm writing this despite the fact they can't deliver them. Anyway two more hours later I got some stone cold food and bits missing from the order. They then had the cheek to stop me and ask to take a photo for "proof of delivery". The decent thing would have been to just cancel the order and let me know so I could make other arrangements. Won't be going back anyway.

Do not order from this store. Disgusting customer service. Took 15 attempts to get through and when i did they were useless and very rude. Called to see where my daughters pizza was after 2 hours she had been waiting all night for her pizza and when it finally arrived it was cold. I love these pizzas and the delivery service is spot on. Always arrives piping hot. The food is good quality. I have the Mexican Hot pizza with classic thin base, and it has just the right bight for me. Tastes great as well.

Ordered 3 pizzas online, 2 vegan and 1 gluten free as my friend is Gluten sensitive, I collected the pizzas and got back in the car noticed that none of the labels stated Gluten free so I rang up and spoke to Marie who was very rude from the onset, I returned to the store to show Marie the items on the website I had ordered showing the gluten free symbol to which she replied that just means it's a butternut squash base ?!?!? She had no clue it means gluten free, she refused to rectify the order and referred me to the website. I told her I would have to order another pizza GLUTEN FREE but will have to get some cash, she allowed me to leave the store and return with cash which she then tells me they don't accept cash (why let me go get Cash then?) She had a smirk on her face whilst telling me this as if she knew she was messing me about. I told her the service was terrible and that if she doesn't rectify the problem I will lodge a complaint (which I have) to which she laughed at me and said "Go make a complaint then". Totally unprofessional and disrespectful. If anyone is sensitive to Gluten please double check your order.

Just had the most amazing meal from here, so just had to share how much we enjoyed it. Ordered 2 large pizzas, 2 sides and a drink on a deal, both pizzas were loaded with toppings (far, far more than we've ever had from Pizza Hut or Dominos) everything was lovely and hot and have to say the special garlic sauce is out of this world! Definitely our new favourite pizza place! 💯% be ordering again.

Painful, order some pizzas at 6:13, call at 19:49 because they had not arrived. Surprise is one more hour away! My 3-year-old son wants to have dinner, he is a child. He cancelled the order (will come back my money between 5-7days omg!) and of course I don't ask them for anything again.

Went online to place an order, said the restaurant was open until 10. Spent ten minutes putting through the families order, it was 09:42 and it said the restaurant was closed. I called them to find out what was going on and they said the restaurant shuts at 10. I said yes that's in 20 minutes, so they said they stop taking orders at 20 to. I was 2 minutes late. I had been placing an order and it refused to let me pay and then the store wouldnt place the order for me, because of 2 minutes, when they weren't even actually closed yet. We're really skint and we had saved up points to use so we could get food with our points. So yeah, pretty fuming to be honest.

Liscard branch wanted £ 14 for large pizza, they say new menu, never been charged anymore than £11 for the passed few years?. Anyway went to captain tonys £11 I paid for extra large pizza, happy days!!!

Just had to cancel our order as we called up to find out how much longer it would be after an hour's wait, only to be told that it was going to be further hour and a half!! I have never ever had to wait 2 and a half hours for a take away and customers should be advised of the wait instead of just left. Not happy!

UPDATED*** Just had two of the saddest pizzas delivered, stone cold and an absolutely miserable attempt. When I called to let them know I was eventually offered new pizzas which I didn't want, they then told me they don't do refunds. So we have had a really disappointing tea time, inedible pizza, now cooking dinner for the kids and Papa John have £18 of our money. We won't be back. Update: my 2 yr old who ate almost an entire slice of pizza before we realised something was wrong has been vomiting through the night. So the misery continues.

Not as nice as Dominoes. More expensive than Pizza Hut. But let's be honest these shops are all specialist in Italian cheese on toast.

Amazing wonderful fantastic place a must for anyone who wants a great Pizza and good value for money.

Vegan Pizza here is just the best. End of nothing else to say.
