Panna's in Barking and Dagenham

We organised a party here and Nishant and his team were extremely professional and accommodating. All the guests that attended loved the venue too. We used the in house catering and the food was amazing. The guests loved the food too and complimented it for days after the party. Would definitely recommend the venue for holding events here and the catering is exceptional.

Thank you for everything you did to make our sangeet so beautiful. We have received so many compliments on the food and service. Our guests were very impressed with the stalls and the way the entire night was handled. Thank you so much Piyush and entire team Big thank you to you too Pannaben. The food. Chicken dish is good and rice too. mango chutney with the papadoms was great. Too busy on a friday night. Dont bother going at busy periods. Service is good

Love it every time we were there

Banquet halls are good but I would try to avoid this place if I am after good Indian food. Definitely lost the touch and food is expensive and not tasty.

3 years ago, ruined a birthday and gave me food poisoning. After that, hygiene rating went down. Giving it three because of their great mocktails; Passion fruit virgin mojito is incredible.

Big hall for partys, and nice Indian food

So I booked a table in advance just to be sure. Stood for 5 min as the matradee was no where to be seen. Once he appeared we where seated. 20 mins later we where offered our menus, asked if we would like a drink. In the mean time I was already ordering a takeaway such was my faith in service so far. The menu is not what I expected. Very limited in choice unless your a vegetarian, plenty of choice including oriental???? Strange for an asian restaurant. So to the meal, service and quality of food. Hot plate served to the table. By the time the food actually arrived, the place was cold. However the food was......OK. I've had better and I've had worse. The empty plates where left on our table for 15min whilst numerous waiters and waitress walked past and ignored them. Eventually the table was cleared and a dessert menu offered. So after another 20 min wait for someone, anyone, to take our dessert order, we gave up. Pointless. When challenged about being short staffed , the matradee said yes. Funny considering we had at least six waiter/waterisess walk past our table. he apologised, took my money and left. On the whole, not a good experience. The food was ok but in no way made up for the poor service. If you have a staffing problem consolidate the covers. Set staff to ensure the tables are looked after and served correctly and look after those customers that have graced your premises. There is no structure to table service, no hierarchy, no ones in charge. Tables are not served correctly, tables are left dirty and cleared haphazardly in front of the customer. Will I go back, not willingly and definitely not going to be my idea.

Since I was introduced this restaurant, it was my 4th visit in less then a year. The customer service this time couldn’t be poorer. They behaved like Alien. Didn’t have basic understanding of the customer service. I went there this time to treat couple of my friends to celebrate a good news. We ordered food with specific instructions as my friends are allergic to a few ingredients. The waiter was reminded more then once about the requirement. However, they failed to follow the instruction and on our surprise, it seemed, they didn’t understand their fault. Instead the waiter was keep saying that she had mentioned the instruction on the order, but the Chef made the mistake and she can’t do anything. She even didn’t apologise on a single occasion. Instead she was constantly trying to prove herself that she has done her job and it’s someone else’s fault. Meanwhile, We noticed a number of other waiters had the same understanding problem when we requested or asked something. We therefore, kept it cool, paid the bill and left the restaurant. I felt sorry for the both us and the restaurant owner. I don’t think, I shall be back there any time soon.

Hi I've just visited the site that was group booking we were very excited had nice food in the end waiting for dessert and then bomb blast terrible fish smell smell totally ruined experience

The food is slightly above average, the service is often very poor and the prices are quite high. I've visited around 10 times over 4 years. It feels like a lot of pressure is put on the waiting staff, they often air their problems. They seem to often put the music volumn up to the point that it is often too loud to hear your neighbor speak (I'm 34 yo, & my hearing is exceptional). We were last waited on by Monika, she was the best service we've experienced here by a long shot.

Great ambience, good food choices but horrible service made the experience pathetic.

Good venue for events and parking. Olay food and avoid busy times and occasions as it's a chaos and service quality drops.

Excellent service by all staff at the Pannas Restaurant. We were welcomed by a lovely lady named Donna. She was very welcoming and polite. Great value for money and the quality of food was above and beyond expectations. Will definitely visit again.

When ask them they just started...and then again after 1hr still not working.leave that the food was disgusting and it was my 40th birthday.... thwy have ruined my food everything. On the top when i went spoke to manager she was reluctant to accept the food was not good .no apology...nothing......pls dont go .......

I have just come back from really exquisite dining and great service all for an amazing price. The staff were attentive and lovely. One of my friends can't eat spicy food and the manager Simona came over and asked if my friend was ok and made sure she was comfortable. That rarely happens and that meant a lot to me because it was a health issue dor my friend and Simona made that her a priority! The food...amazing Sag and great meat starters! All were seasoned well and the portions were fantastic.The decor is really a nice ambience for large or small parties. I was so impressed with their menu and drinks. I will definitely be visiting again. Well done Simona-great job. See you soon I hope.

If you would like to wait in an empty restaurant with 6-7 waiters all talking to each other while you wait 25 minutes for a drink. This is the place for you. If you want decent service and nice food go elsewhere. it also has a 3 star food hygiene rating. Which means it's just about clean enough for food. AVOID.

Went here with friends and found the restaurant almost empty....My friend ordered a drink called nojito which was really bad...They just poured sugar ice mint leaves in it which wasn't muddled...tasted horrible as my friend asked me to try it...food was not something which can make me go back..desserts were better than the food as I had kulfi falooda...service was so bad as nobody gave a damn to check whether the food was good or not despite only 1 other table of 2 in the restaurant....This was my second time after around 6 years because we went for bowling but most of the lanes were closed so I forced my friends to have dinner at Panna's but it was a bad decision as 3 of us had 4 starters 3 mains and 3 desserts which is quite good money. No wonder they were not busy....

We've been to pannas quite a few times, and have never had any issues. Yes the food is sometimes bland but sometimes it's tasty too, however this experience was by far the most disappointing out of all. The buffet is supposed to be served from 12-4pm however their food ran out way before 3pm. When they did bring more food out it was too cold. Absolutely no spice whatsoever in any of the dishes. My daughter is 3 and wasn't well so didn't eat anything, but she was going to be charged any way, however because of all these issues, as a goodwill the manager said he won't charge for the 4 kids. I asked for a takeaway container to pack some food for my daughter. I put one spoon of daal and one spoon of rice. They completely over charged me for the 2 containers. There was hardly anything in them and I was charged £13. I was extremely shocked as I even spoke to the owner (Panna, who happened to come into the restaurant at the time) and explained that I only want to take what my daughter would've eaten in the restaurant had she been ok. She ignored what I was saying, and turned to the waiter and manager and said that the containers need to be charged. I was quite disappointed and upset but as I'm 8 months pregnant I didn't want to cause an issue and just left the containers there. Not a great visit at all :(

Food was great hard to find sat nav took us the wrong way. It's on the roundabout go to the exit with the globe above it. The room we had was upstairs and very cold . Only heated with four small electric heaters. Waiting staff not very social. Glad it was work paying and not me

Good and secured place, lovely games and sports in the basement but food is more of Asian.

Alright for the location as plenty of parking and you can go bowling or arcade if bored, but food is bog standard.

I done my daughter's birthday party in bolling and then after buffet at PANNA'S RESTAURENT. Servies were very good. Staff are very helpful, specially Urvi and Simran were very help full and organise party very smoothly. Love to come the city pav for event in future.

Love this restaurant. Delicious food and really attentive staff. Having had to cut dairy out of my diet, going out for a meal can be tricky. The waiter and chef at Panna couldn’t have been more helpful and accomodating. They adapted some of my favourite dishes without any fuss and so I was able to enjoy a lovely meal out with my family. Can’t wait to go back.

Unfortunately, very poor service. Probably the worst I have ever had. Sat down, 10 minutes passed, no waiter no menu. Asked for a menu, was handed one with middle pages missing. Ordering food was difficult, the waiter was quite abrupt. Food took some time to come (which I don’t mind as they were busy). They had a very loud singer on, who was so loud it made eating uncomfortable. When we asked if the volume could be reduced a small amount, we were told there was only one ‘setting’. (!) The food itself was average, the naan and roti were cold. But as we never once had a waiter asking us how the food was, we didn’t bother complaining. Dirty plates were left to sit in front of us for 20 minutes. It felt like we were a burden to them to serve. This used to be a decent restaurant to goto, but last night it was rubbish. We wouldn’t go back. Avoid.

Sent 4 drinks back as we're flat, food mediocre at best, mine was lukewarm and lamb grizzly and tough and not that plentiful. Would have put up with it but service incredibly poor, lots of staff about but none particularly attentive and no improvement after I'd complained. Never again and definitely wouldn't recommend. Curry garden in Collier row, 5 mins away is excellent so why bother. ..

Good selection of buffet for lunches

This place is not most. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The service is so bad. The food is below average. The cobra is flat. When we went here we just want to go home. The only thing we like was the mushrooms for starters.

Once upon a time it served great Gujarati vegetarian food. Not so anymore. The service is below par too. The food mediocre. The finesse of the copper serving dishes of 10 years ago has also gone and it's replaced with bland white ceramic bowls. The waiters need more training and be more responsive. I took a peep into the kitchen and it looked pretty untidy, this is worrisome. Overall, cheapness of food and poor service has replaced a once great restaurant..

Nice place, decor and ambience are very good. place is spacious and kid friendly. Most of the dishes are very good, with a few being hit and miss. This place has a function hall, bowling alley and a bar and ample parking space, so all groups of people can have a great time.

Too much masala and salt! They should know good curry doesn't mean super masala and salt. They need to be more good with real taste. They need to be made more organized too. Takes 45 mins to arrange tables and bring food when we called them 10 mins ago while even the half of Restaurant was empty.

Been to Panna's many times over the years. Unfortunately this time experience was awful. The food didn't arrive altogether. They forgot some dishes at least 3 dishes. They served this up once we had almost finished our meal. The food didn't taste good compared to our previous experiences. We were advised it was a new menu. Time to go back to the old menu food was not good. To add to it the waiters did not understand what dish they were serving up. Disaster when u give a non- veg dish to a vegetarian. Although staff apologises definitely was a experience that has put us off from going again. Shame as it was one of the better places to eat until recently.

Disappointing experience at Pannas. I never write reviews but this experience got us all so angry and fustrated that i had to write one. This is my mums favourite resturant so we made a booking for her 78th birthday. Got there and they had no log of our booking. They have a new menu and when the food arrived the portions were smaller than previous visits. They forgot 3 items from the order. When one of the items finally came - daal,it tasted and smelt burnt. This was my mums dish. Waiters wernt sure at times what dishes they were even putting on the table. When it came to desserts one didnt even know the difference between a chocolate cake and mousse. Although 2 of the staff were apologetic the experince had already disappointed us and messed up our mood. The owner walked around oblivious to what was going on. Sorry Pannas but we wont be coming back to you again.

Service wasn't very good, waiter came after 2minutes of us arriving asking for order, hadn't even had a chance to look at menu. Food came and just wasn't cooked properly (mixed grill) chicken wasn't cooked and very bland. Butter chicken for main and also wasn't cooked and just tasted of tomatoes. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

Great food in lovely surroundings.

Very bad terrible service. No one has no clue what they are doing. As soon as you sit down u will have 3 to 4 of them asking to place order and then when u place order it will come all wrong and order taker has done mistake and waiting time is terrible. The reason I gave one star is for their plates and cutlerys and ambience is good but food quality and variety very bad. No courtesy among any management staff about order being late. Would not recommend anyone to go.

Recently doscovered this place and was blown away with the taste. Quite a few varieties for vegeterians as well and everything is just delicious. Highly recommended.

had to give it one start because I could not give it zero. Probably the worst place I have been to ever. The service was shoddy. Food arrived cold. Missed items off the order. The when the bill came they added drinks on there which I never ordered. The food tasted really bland. Never again.

Overall they need to do a lot of homework. Portion like paneer& mogo. Was more capsicum than mogo&paneer. Service not good.very short staffed. Food coming to the table took so long.eventually so many people left without eating the main meal.

Food was good but the restaurant is on top of a banquet Hall which means whenever there is loud music playing in the hall, it creates a lot of noise in the restaurant. We could literally feel the vibrations coming in from the floor below. Service could have been better and traditional curries were missing from the menu.

Absolutely atrocious buffet Mothering Sunday meal. They put up the price by £3 just to exploit The special day but the buffet was Spartan and greasy. The staff didn't even wish my mother happy Mother's Day.

Panna's Restaurant & Boxing Venue. When leaving we were almost hit by bottles that people were throwing at each other after the boxing had finished. I ended up having to take my family back inside the venue until the police had arrived and the brawl outside was over. Not recommended - I will not be going again.

Just returned from a large group-set menu meal at Panna's. Some dishes were ok, others were not at all tasty. To begin with, although our booked meal time was 5:30pm, we didn't get served anything until approx 6:10pm. In addition to this, first servings were measly! Although we were able to order more, initially each person was only able to take half a jersey potato (potato curry), or a tablespoon of the other curries in order for others at the table to have something on their plates too. Overall, very disappointing experience - the only positive thing I can say is that the waiter & waitress serving us were polite & cheerful.

We had £25 set menu for group of 28 of us. They had no problem that we had booked for 25 people at 6pm yet actually mostly weren't there until about 7:30 (Malawi time!!). For set menu we got to choose 4 starters (2 veg; 2 meat) and 4 mains (2 veg; 2 meat) but everyone had same desert. Food was more than plentiful with way more than we could ever eat. In fact, a few people were confused when hot plates came out for main - they thought we'd already had our mains and were questioning why we were getting hot plates for desserts!! Food in general was really nice and was nice and spicy. Anything that deviated from the set menu flow seemed to take forever. Was always quicker to go to bar to get drinks, (despite bar service being shockingly slow pre-meal as they always seemed to be doing restaurant orders!), and there was no-one actually watching table - so whenever you needed someones attention you either had to wait 20 minutes, or go find someone. I'd really love to recommend this place, but service wasn't quite up to scratch of place and food! Would like to give 3.5 stars but half stars not possible so I was nice and rounded up!

We had a great family celebration meal here in December. It must be said that our party were slightly hyperactive, but the staff kept a level head and maintained our orders splendidly. The food was excellent, but may be a tad too hot for some palates. All in all, a lovely night.

We came to this restaurant for a big family meal. The food was nice BUT...at the end as we were leaving my mother fell over a hidden step. The lighting was very poor even though this was at lunchtime and there was no sign indicating there was a step ahead. She now has a fractured arm and is in a lot of pain. The staff were not helpful whatsoever and no one was first aid qualified. if you do go here please be VERY CAREFUL as I don't want this happening to you! I don't know how they have passed Health and Safety checks.
