The place stank of turpentine. One side of the bar was allocated to staff who had just finished work. They were really loudly having some misogynistic conversation. Have the Tate brothers bought Stonegate pubs? Had an Asahi and it had a metallic taste. The bar lady who served me was lovey though. A lot of work to be done.

Hotel stay - lovely staff, hotel very clean and modern, no complaints there. As mentioned before, it is above the pub so it can be loud until it closes at around 11:30pm, so bare that in mind. Otherwise great stay!

Don’t bother with the food. Ordered a chicken salad. It was dry chicken, tasted days old and like it had been left out for a while. Brown lettuce leaves. A few sun-dried tomatoes. Paid £15 for something worth a couple of quid at best. Onion rings, £5, basically a bag of Iceland ready-made onion rings. Garlic bread w cheese, £5.50, was definitely microwaved. It was soft and squishy even in the crust. My salad, garlic bread, and pint of beer cost £25! And it’s the worst food I’ve eaten out in Manchester for a long time.

Awful ! Do not go here for food I booked a table for 9 for Sunday Lunch and was told they didn’t do it! Despite it being in your website and an electronic poster on site !! I mentioned to this to a member of staff who replied “ we don’t deal with that “ So we decided to order off there standard menu, I went to order and was told that the kitchen couldn’t cope with the orders so your not taking orders, then another colleague came to our table and said we could! The first 2 meals I ordered wasn’t available due to not having the Ingredients! At that point we left ! I will not be returning I would offer no stars on this review if it was an option

Filthy beer (the lines aren't cleaned properly, or regularly) and a filthy attitude from the interim manager, Sarah, to those who complain. The pub is being sold. In normal times Stonegate were never the best of publicans but with the arrival of its latest manager (who's charged with managing the closure and to whom the concept of customer service appears to be a novelty), it appears to be plumbing new depths of incompetence in it's management team. As a regular of five years, I've given up and until the new owners take over I'm going elsewhere.

Very expensive pints but nice atmospheric, 6.10 for a cask ale is a rip off and I also did get the cheapest pint which they said was Amstel at 5.30 I have drank many cask ales across Manchester and the UK but 6.10 for a cask ale was the most expensive cask ale I've ever purchased. Either that particular brewer is charging too much or the bars margin is way too high. I do not believe the bar is locked into a brewery as they had a range of different beers. So the bar sets whatever price they want on their pints. It was almost empty on new year's eve because the prices are too high. Get some cask ales in that are cheaper than the ones you've got. Either way the prices don't make sense. I'd like to return to the bar if they have some cash ales that are in the £4 area as that is average for a cask ale.

Disappointing Service, But overall ok for just 1 night. We stayed at The Oxnoble between Christmas and New Year for one night in a family room. I called earlier in the day to confirm our booking for 2 adults and 1 child, and everything seemed in order. However, upon checking in around 4pm, we noticed the sofa bed hadn't been set up. When we approached the bar to inquire, we were told it was our responsibility to set it up ourselves, and the bedding was supposedly in the cupboard. When we couldn't find it, we returned to the bar, and a different staff member apologised and promised to bring it up in about 15 minutes. He explained that many housekeepers had time off for Christmas, and it had simply been missed. The family room itself was okay, but had a strange layout with a small hallway and two separate rooms. There was also a musty smell in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, though, and overall the room was decent. We were told breakfast was served from 7:30am to 12:00pm, so we came down at around 09:10 the next day, only to be informed that the chef wouldn’t be in for another 20 minutes. While it wasn’t a major issue for us since we weren't in a rush, we did wonder how guests arriving at 7:30am might feel. Staff seemed disinterested and unbothered, which was disappointing. When breakfast finally arrived, it was fine in terms of taste, though nothing special. Overall, our stay had its ups and downs. While the room was comfortable, the service left a lot to be desired. It seems like the hotel struggles with adequate staffing, especially during busy times like Christmas.

Just came in for food and a drink. 6 of us. Very cold reception from the angry girl behind the bar. She ignored me standing there while she was moaning and swearing about the room availability to a guest who was trying to check in. Eventually, she came to my order and it felt like I was in her way. She slammed the drink on the counter and tipped half of it onto the bar.. when I asked for it to be filled up (a pint is a legal measure, not a suggestion!) it was met with contempt.. it was 'sort of' filled and returned to the bar to further spill half of the content. We have chosen to leave and not give them any more money, for food or anything else. ,#to the owner... Time to train your staff in how to speak to people.. or hire someone without a chip on their shoulder. This page shows the place to be busy.. it is wrong, it is now empty.

If I could give this place 0 stars then I would. We came for a night out (group of 8 diverse and mixed gender people) at 9:50pm, they said we needed a booking to come in, luckily they had a booking at 10pm available. However, when we went back in (after standing outside to do said booking), they singled out our Indian male friend and said he was too drunk and was “stumbling” around. Not only was this a blatant lie as he was the most sober out of us and form of racism, but they did not mention this the first time we went in. Absolute disgrace in this day and age. Not to mention, two white boys came in (who looked more intoxicated than our friend), they first told them they too needed a booking and 2 minutes later let them in anyway without a booking so long as, “they did not drink too much”.

Is it too much to ask that if I pay best part of £7 for a birra moretti that it comes in the right glass and not a non branded generic glass that’s not completely flat within 3 mins? As a licensee I don’t think so. Soulless place. Poor.
