Great food and always the highest standard

Nice enough fish but the Chips were Fantastic 😀

This use to be a good fish shop but lately it’s gone down hill. I bought a fish Pattie (fritter) and it was awful, the thinnest Iv ever seen one and was definitely not worth the price.

8.95 for what seems to be a kids fish. Had to wait for one piece of my order so the rest was wrapped up and kept warm, I guess that’s why the batter all peeled off. Chips were okay at best. Ah well used to be a decent chippy.

Decent, clean , busy fish and chip shop, cooking fresh to order it's beef dripping fried, there few and hard to find, better than here you get good grub

Brilliant fishy staff lovely l was brought up in Hull all my brothers worked on trawlers and we always had fish belive you me l know good fish and that what you get at Oxbridge fishy can't fool me with hake or pollock go to oxbridge and get the good stuff proper Haddock.

Portion sizes are getting smaller I now bypass this one and go to heartburn chip shop . In response to your comments , I always get standard fish and chips x 2 I know the chip and fish sizes are getting smaller , your response was just a lot of fob of . Sorry , but I would have liked a yes sorry we have had to reduce the sizes to keep the price down . And not tryed to b Pull the wool over our eyes .

The staff here are lovely and really very friendly. I started feeling a tad anxious as it was quite busy recently but the person who took my order was friendly, made me laugh and sorted my order out.

Lovely fish and chips, the fish was white and sweet, freshly cooked in a crispy batter they have great selection of food pies, fishcakes, fish bites, scampi etc., very organised so even special orders are quickly cooked, will be back

Definitely would not recommend. Ordered a lge fish and half portion chips. The fish was overcooked, not much fish, batter was extremely thin and hard. Must have been about 12 chips underneath my fish. Appreciate they must be busy being Good Friday, but come on Oxbridge Fish Bar I am sure you could do better.

Only take away. Food is good but it is not as good as just prepared when you eat it because of take away.

Used to be the best around. Past two times awful! Hard dry fish didn’t even taste like cod. Awful just awful. Small portion, however couldn’t of stomached anymore. Worst fish and chips I have ever had in my life!

I use to go to the fish shop before I left Stockton on tees in 76 and it was the best in town. On my recent visit to my home town I decided to again go there I'm so glad I did and so was my wife . I got fish an chips oh my goodness memories came flooding back such great taste we went back the same night and again had the same mmmmmmm. The next day we again went there this time we had fish pattie scraps and chips oh my goodness looking forward to our return next year keep up the great work thanks

Gave me wrong order and I didn notice until home but it would be strange to have a carton of gravy with the 2 fishpatties when the order was supposed to be 2 chipbutties...lol never-ending the missis says its my Welsh accent..lol..🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Just received fish and chips, seperate gravy, chips and seperate mushy peas. Fish very dark, very dry, chewy! Seperate chips! what can i say, disgusting small handful for £2.45 never go back, as was giving them a second chance after similar experience a few weeks ago.

The fish was good but the batter was awful. It was hard and extremely greasy.

Went last night spent £25 on food large cod were mostly over cooked batter really dry bit disappointed as always been decent portions not great for money

We have never had a bad meal from here. We order on line with a set time for collection. We order lightly battered - brilliant. Staff are very pleasant and hard working.

Has to be the best on Teeside, from being a child growing up in Oxbridge to now being a man in 50s always the go to place for quality fish and chips

Shocking nearly 7 pound and the portion was rediculace never again !paper stuck to fish proper rip off chip portion wouldn't feed a kid never mind a adult!!

I went here for first time in years as it’s a bit of a distance and the fish and chips were brilliant. But now I’ve been 3 or 4 times more and sadly it’s been a let down with the fish dry and the batter over cooked. Very sad as they were so good the first time.

Well done cod was beautiful,crispy and tasty batter ,good size portions of both fish and chips.Pleasant and efficient staff.Shop has good kerb appeal and is well laid out,nice range and clean.

The staff are great very helpful the place is very clean and tidy, the most important thing is the food is great and you get a lot, could do with reducing the potion size to save waste.

chips are not like proper chips all sharp scraggly ends with black bits on them, fish was tasteless and full of grease, sausage was dried up and batter rock hard and staff don't look the cleaniest of people don't know why people taste this place far nicer places will not be returning here again.

I must have gone on a bad day, really struggling to understand all these 5* reviews. Chips, the main event IMHO, were okay, nothing special, not bad, not great. The portion size was tiny. Half what I would expect and get at most other chippys. Maybe it’s different for locals? Other people’s pics seem to show more. Fish was okay taste wise nothing more. Not the biggest portion but not overly stingy like the chips. It was very clean from what I could tell so top marks for that. £6.95 for fish and chips is more than I would pay round my way but perhaps it’s the going rate here in Stockton?

In Stockton to visit the theatre, we needed a quick bite to eat, so joined the long Friday night queue for chips, based upon the ratings on here. The queue was dealt with quickly and one portion of chips, plus a second with large battered sausage arrived. Steaming hot, very tasty, well cooked chips. Good service, very friendly. Sausage was usual basic chip shop fare, but don’t expect better. Only gets four stars due to price. Chips are £2.30, which is far more expensive than most chips in the area.

Pure dirt it was dirty small sharp chips a wierd square mushy fish ,expensive i got charged for bags forks couldn't even spare salt n vinegar even tho i asked for it i don't think they put any on il not be goin here again like

Absolutely famished after a long day with almost nothing to eat and 2 fish suppers with scraps filled the bill perfectly. Service was quick and friendly and the fish cooked perfectly, although the batter was slightly soggy by the time we ate them. This is my first visit for 45 years but it reminded me of walking home from Holy Trinity Cubs to the Oxbridge Avenue area and getting a bag of chip with scraps for 6d, or just a bag of scraps for 1/2d, as long ago as 52 years.

A big queue busting tip at the moment is to order in advance over the 'phone , it will save you a long wait at peak times . Any time really ! Food is great , good quality and at a decent price but I personally do think they should charge for the paper carriers that are so popular for take-away food at the moment .

We placed our orders and wow excellent service very clear and user friendly ordering system and would certainly recommend. Have been using the online ordering o we COVID and must say that it has been excellent. The order has always been ready and hot. The prices have gone up recently and the have started using trays instead of the better old fashioned wrap but unfortunately the portion size of the chips has been dramatically reduced. Noticed this the last couple of weeks and just felt like I had to say something this time.

Good quality, good service. Ordered on line and it was ready on time. Ability to select your preferred time to collect is a bonus.

Tried a few fish & chip shops in my local area (Norton) ventured further afield tonight and have to say Oxbridge Lane Fish Bar is quite simply the BEST fish & chips I’ve had in a very very long time, ordered cod & chips twice plus portion of fish bites DELICIOUS, FRESH & TASTY Will definitely be back!! Great food, little bit pricey but as the saying goes - you generally get what you pay for. Would have been 5 stars if the fish hadn't been over cooked this evening - batter that needed a nut cracker to get through was a big disappointment and certainly not the norm.

Very well run, always spotlessly clean. Fish (& fish bits) are delicious. Always a queue, which shows how popular it is!

Very nice place, no pun intended. Is one of my fave goto Fish and Chip shops. Clean inside, well set up and great food and service

First time I tried this place it was lovely, but today unfortunately chips are white sloppy and greasy patties are so thin practically no fish inside whatsoever not worth 50p never mind £1.55 very disappointing definitely avoid those. the curry sauce was a waste just got binned without sounding to harsh it has got to be the worst fish shop curry sauce I’ve ever tasted easily absolutely disgusting can’t believe the owners allow it to be sold it’s like tasteless flour hands down worst around don’t waste your money on it.
