A superb Bangladeshi restaurant and takeaway. We were visiting the area and had dinner here. Service is excellent and food delicious. Manager friendly and informative (go with the recommendations)

This is without doubt the best Indian restaurant in Stone! We have never had a meal that we haven’t thoroughly enjoyed, the staff are always attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them, give yourself a treat and pay a visit!

The best Indian restaurant I have eaten at since I left Birmingham. The service was exceptional, the Wednesday deal was unbelievable value. Overall we spent £35 for two people, we each had a beer, poppadoms with a selection of chutneys, garlic naan and a curry (Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Vindaloo). This is undoubtedly going to be our new go to Indian restaurant, everything was authentic and delicious and the gentleman who served us was warm, welcoming and friendly!

I've have only ever ordered take away from Ovilash and have been meaning to eat in at some point very soon. The food from here is consistently outstanding and the delivery guys are super polite. As a lover of Indian restaurant food, I can honestly say these are one of the best I've tasted!

The best Indian curry I have ever had, it was a recommendation from the staff and they were spot on … when you go ask for the Roshun Curry very smooth and you can choose your own level of chilli , staff are very friendly and great value for money

Visited on spec without a booking last night (7th Nov) for a curry. Our meal was excellent as was the service. We have visited the Ovilash many times over the 9 years we have lived in Stoke (12 Miles away) and to this day have never had an issue with anything. Food top class and the service exemplary. Absolutely disgusting. Waited 45mins for 6 peoples meals and we were the only people in the restaurant. The meals was recommended by the waiter, we asked for spicy and was reassured he can make any dish spicy. The food arrives and we sent it back for being unedable each time it came out it got darker but worse taste and no more spice 4x we sent or back. Taste like soap, the naan was cheese and garlic and the cheese was not melted.

After ordering a takeaway from ovilash we were told that they were busy and the delivery ETA was around 90 minutes . 3 hours later the food arrived with part of the order missing ! After contacting them they arrived with the missing food around 45 minutes later . Also when the food arrived it was cold .. we were charged what we thought was a lot of money for what we had so calculated it up and we were overcharged by £16 !!!! Contacting them again to bring this to their attention and request them to refund the money that we overplayed only to be told that they were finishing up to go home . To this day we have not been contacted by ovilash with the money that is owed to us therefore we will not be using this restaurant again after years of regularly using ovilash . Needless to say feel very disappointed ☹️

A family of five - really enjoyed this restaurant. The curry was tasty and fresh, the service was excellent with attention to detail, and the prices were fair. Lovely family restaurant- haven’t been for a while but definitely would visit again soon.

Ordered a chicken korma, chicken chat as a main, pilau rice, two naans and 3 popadoms with mango chutney. Charged £35 after arguing the added £2.50 delivery charge that wasn’t quoted on ordering. The korma had barely any chicken in it. Pretty much just sauce....

Had a takeaway for a family birthday tonight and it was fabulous. All the dishes were distinctive and lovely and hot. Full of flavour and tasty. Every dish a masterpiece in it's own right.

Possibly the worst curry I've ever eaten..... Restaurant was completely empty and now I know why. Wouldn't know how to cook a bland curry but these guys have it down to a tee. Chapati was like cardboard even the dips with the poppadoms were vile....

What’s not to like about this place? Cobra on draft. Greet popodums / chutneys. Don’t normally have a starter so can’t comment. Lovely curry’s, rices and nans in fact lots of choices on the menu. Great to be able to go back after lock down

Visited during EOHO in August 2020. Only one front of house staff which made service a bit slow but the when the food arrived, wow it was good. All four meals we ordered were excellent, one of the best curries I have had. Would recommend.

A group of 5 family members visited on a busy Friday night. The staff coped brilliantly with the hungry customers. The food was excellently cooked, tasty and well served. One of our party asked for an item to be cooked in a special way. This was done without hesitation. Really good value for money.

We visited ovilash this evening 04 04 19 and was greeted and seated all good and enjoyed a cobra but the glass was dirty .The starter was ok but small and the main course was ok but tiny so £56 later still hungry ! Not acceptable . Maybe take a packed lunch because you'll need it ..

Chef must have changed. 4 different meals indistinguishable from each other. Old favourite of peshwari chicken was bland and flavourless. Adding chilli does not improve flavour if other spices are missing

First time I have eaten in the restaurant, as usually grab a takeaway. The food is excellent as are the staff. Always end up bumping into someone in there as it is very popular, which is a good compliment as there are lots of competition based in Stone. Make sure you book as it does get busy on a Saturday night, but for good value great tasting food, Ovilash is the number one choice for me!

If you want an authentic North Indian curry go to Bradford. The meal we had was shockingly bad. The Lamb Tikka Masala was sickly sweet and had enough red dye to be seen from outer space. No discernable Indian spices could be tasted. This was clearly a stock sauce obviously purchased in industrial quantities. The only cooking involved was reheating the bright concoction at the table. My North Indian Roshun was equally bland and tasteless. Another stock sauce purporting to contain Indian spices. This type of lazy restaurant does not deserve your patronage. The old Vesta curries of the 70's were more authentic than this and Supermarket take-aways are intimately better value.

Located on the edge of the town proper there is plenty of local parking (short walk) and there is healthy competition from other restaurants/pubs locally. Welcome was good but tiny place means we crowded other diners.Decor is some weird polystyrene affair...bit odd Service was quick and efficient and they were very amenable with us bringing our own fizz!!!! Food was tasty and varied and the Cobra went down a treat.Would visit again

Great food and service from this restaurant, and a 25% discount if you order a take away and collect it yourself. This is a small family run restraunt serving a wide variety of dishes. This was not our first visit and did not disappoint. On every visit we have chosen different dishes and thoroughly enjoyed every one. The atmosphere is quiet the staff pleasant and helpful.

I have been a few times since and have always expressed this as my favourite Indian outside of a city environment. Not sure though, last two visits have been okay. Took my partner and she wasn't overly keen. Went again and took the old man and he enjoyed it but i felt it was missing that previous spark. Will visit again and re-review as i don't want to give up on this restaurant as the first few times i went, myself and my kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Went on a Saturday evening having pre booked. Friendly welcome by staff. A wide selection on the menu at reasonable prices. Had the chicken Kalia and chicken Malayan which were lovely. Food arrived promptly well presented and hot. A bottle of wine was about £13. Not rushed to leave. Lots of people came in to collect takeaways. Worth a return visit.

Visited again after being previously put off by the surly staff! I am glad to say that there were happy smiling faces serving us. The layout inside is a lot better than it was since their redecoration. The food was also very enjoyable and I am pleased to say we will be returning. Credit where credit is due.

We visited Ovilash for a change from our regular indian restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had the shared starter and all the meats were beautifully cooked and flavoured lovely. I had a chicken lanka and it was very tasty but not for the faint hearted as it was very hot but that's how I like it, my wife had the chicken kalia which was again very tasty and spiced perfectly for her tastes.We shared a couple of bottles of New Zealand sauvingnon blanc which were served chilled and finished off with a couple of amaretto coffees and an amaretto chaser we were given complimentary shots before leaving.The bill came to £113 which appears steep but considering the alcohol was not too bad.We will make the effort again to travel and try something new from the menu.Well worth a visit.

I've only tried here and Mojos so far, for me this wins hands down. Good food, good service. Excellent menu, flexible with half portions for my kids and my kids always go off menu. As in it's not another Korma or red sauced effort!Keep it up!

This is my go-to local curry place. I have written a review previously but thought I would update it since I think the restaurant has really upped it's game in terms of their food. The food has always been good here but I would say that over the past 12 months or so they have really improved. So much so that when I visit with friends the whole table is more than satisfied with their meal choices and mostly they are an adventurous lot. We also travel quite a bit and have curry in other places all over the country but it doesn't matter where we go they never quite match up to this place in terms of the food. Sometimes the decor is nicer in other places but in terms of the food we have yet to find somewhere beat the Ovilash. Thankfully it is in our local town so we don't have far to travel. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to visitors to Stone and I will be back again shortly myself.

Perfect Friday night takeaway with friends. Loads of really interesting dishes to try, and very well priced. It was fairly busy so had to wait about 55 minutes to collect, but totally worth the wait

Called in for the first time with my son on spec. A really nice, smallish but very comfortable restaurant. The service was quick and the food excellent. Reasonable prices and I will certainly be going back. Probably now the best curry house in Stone.

I have been here several times but this was a little disappointing this time. The dish I chose was one of the more expensive ones duck with prawns. The duck was rather tough and the prawns looked rather strange. It was not worth the extra money and I would not have it again. The starter was chicken chat but all who had it found it rather hot for our taste and the little pancake was rolled next to the chicken rather than having the chicken on top.

Menu as you would expect with lots of dishes done averagely rather than a few done really well. Some dishes quite expensive for what they are. Sometimes they seem eager to close before the advertised time (e.g. 12 midnight advertised on a Friday, told that I "might" be able to have a takeaway at 11.20). Nice, intimate, small restaurant frequented by many locals and convenient if you have a drink in the Exchange.

First time used Ovilash for take away. You are spoiled for choice with a great menu,take away food was fantastic for a party of 7. Manager and staff was warm and friendly and we appreciated free bottle of wine and discount of next meal when dining in restaurant.

Just had a takeaway and it's nearly all gone in the bin! Tasteless chilli masalla made with chilli powder! Lamb cooked to death in mixed tandoori. Absolutely terrible. When we rang to complain we were offered more of the same terrible food we'd just put in the bin. No offer of a refund either partial or full. Never ever again.

Visited here for a works Christmas do, the booking was made initially a few months before the visit. Lucky for us no deposit was taken which is rare at this time of year, Unfortunately a number in our party cancelled at the last minute, the staff handled this well. The service could have been a little faster, however the staff were laid back, polite and welcoming. The food was plentiful, tasty and hot, the drinks were reasonably priced given the fact that's it's a licensed premises. One colleague was not happy with her meal as it was spicier than she'd expected, she was given a discount voucher for her next visit. All in all would definitely visit here again, thank you

Lived in Stone for 3.5 years and usually eat in Mojo's and have never had a bad meal there but thought we would give Ovilash a try. I will definitely be going back very soon because the meal was to a very high standard and probably the best Indian meal I have had since moving to Stone.Great service, excellent food and pleasant atmosphere.

I have been going to Ovilash for years and I firmly believe it offers the best curry in stone, which is why I'm happy to pay a bit more here. Both the service and food is great and I look forward to returning when I'm next in the area.

i went to the restaurant last night with my family. The food was absolutely fab, waiters r very friendly and their service was great. the restaurant environment is good. Definitely we ll go back.

Fairly friendly restaurant, food somewhat 'samey' particularly on vegetarian choices. Everything relying on rather too much potato an less of more expected vegetables. Bhaji rather bland. Others in group found their meals far hotter than expected, mine was more on the bland side. 4am waking with a grumbly tummy didn't endear it either. Wouldn't rush back.

I've had loyalty cards for this place for years. Tonight we went in with a card with ten stamps giving me £10 off. The waiter was obviously determined that I wouldn't get the £10 and swore he'd stamped it for me earlier while we were eating. Which was a damn lie as it never moved from my side. Eventually got another card with one stamp and and a statement that I could get my £10 next time. All with very bad grace. Well there won't be another time Ovilash, your loyalty cards have gone in the bin and a loyal customer will not be visiting you ever again

We decided on a catch up meeting and my friend suggested we went to the Ovilash a Indian restaurant in Stone we went and thoroughly enjoyed it The area is very cramped and the waiters are always very busy as the restaurant is a take away service as well which makes seating in the main part very cramped so if you can asked for the room at the back which is less cramped We are returning again next Saturday 17th so hopefully all will be as good as it was

Service not very good and there was only one other couple in the restaurant.One waiter stood behind the counter by the door eating his food and leaning over the counter opposite us. He finished his food and stood picking his nails and playing on his phone.The other waiter who also served our table was quite rude as they kept having long and loud conversations in their own language which was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. The food was too spicy so we asked if they could somehow cool it down but they said no and did not offer a suggestion. Although on a positive note the rest of the food was very nice and the place seemed to be clean.

This is the nicest curry I have ever had in Stone!The deal they do on a Sunday and Wednesday I think, Is great!I had the madras once, wouldn't do it again, it was VERY hot!The balti's are always spot on! And the mixed kebab starter is too die for!Only issue I have ever had, Is when I had my madras, I kept asking for some mint yogurt to cool my mouth down and they wouldn't bring me any!

Had a takeaway on Sunday evening and could not fault it at all .I had the garlic butter chicken and my husband had chicken tikka massala .very tasty and will definitely be back .

We called in with a reservation which was just as well as it quickly got busy after we arrived at 7.30pm.We didn't have the best table but there were a couple if large parties already eating. It did get a bit hot temperature wise and the staff, whilst pleasant, seemed a little rushed which probably explains why we never got the 2nd round of drinks we ordered.Food was very nice and the option of going half & half on curries allowed me to branch out a little. Rice and naan were both nice too, and the important thing was all four of us enjoyed our meal.Would certainly consider calling again.

Had a gawjus indian at this place, good menu choice and perfect place. They even do a spicy Pompadom!

Stopped off here quite by chance on the way south from Alton Towers. Turned out to be a really good choice. Food was excellent and the staff attentive without being fussy. Possibly slightly expensive (about £50 for four people for mains, rice and breads). I would definitely recommend for singles, couples or curry loving families.

Always have my Indian from here, have been a customer since last summer after moving up from Surrey, and can't fault it. Food is always hot, plus they give you a discount if you collect, a free big bottle of pop and run a loyalty card. Not eaten in yet but plan to do so very soon, in my opinion it's the best Indian restaurant in Stone!

I have eaten here a couple of times with friends, but recently it is the takeaway service that I have enjoyed. When hubby is working away, wife will takeaway! The food is always freshly prepared, perfectly packaged and labelled and the pickles selection, for me, is what wins every time. I took a photo last time to show the variety on offer. Pickles and Poppadoms are Perfect!My only irritation is that sometimes delivery is possible, but on other nights (and there is no logic which nights) it is not.Apparently there is a loyalty card but I have never been offered one, despite becoming a regular take away customer. Perhaps I will ask next time...

You can buy Indian food in pretty much every town in Britain, so in the end it comes down to whether you want really good service with pristine white napkins and hot freshly cooked food, or a quick takeaway from a formica counter. This restaurant is the place to go to linger over a nice chilled Indian beer (or British for that matter). It has a cosy, intimate atmosphere and is a good venue for a date. Families are made very welcome too, with smaller portions on offer, and less heat in the meal if required. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. You can just order a takeaway (each box labelled up so you know which is what!) but this restaurant invites you to stay and relax.
