Me envió y conseguimos besugo y risotto. Peces nadar en mantequilla y hecha. El risotto era un desastre salado gloopy. Gente realmente encontrar esta comida aceptable? Lo único bueno de este lugar eran las camareras, amable y bastante avergonzados por la comida que tuvieron que servir.

This is a strange mix, nice wine, good cheese, friendly staff, very good atmosphere on a cold Saturday night, however food just awful, so bad that if you were cooking it at home you would throw it in the bin. £12 for stir fry vegetables was never going to be great value for money, but the bowel of randomly selected, tasteless, over cooked and under cooked oil soaked vegetables was frankly just taking the micky, anything that was fried had the unpleasant after taste of an under cleaned cooking area and oil kept too long. Steak was marginally better but a very small cut over cooked for the quality of the meat which meant tough and for a supplement of and extra £4 on top of the £12 starts to compete with the vegetable dish for the daylight robbery award. One toilet for 40 covers is starting to look a bit like a hygiene risk particularly as cleaning appeared to be a once night event only. This is shame because this could be a really good place to come, but until they clean the kitchen, sack the chef and install another toilet I wouldn’t recommend for anything other than a drink.

No me empezó.

Simplemente ir a ningún otro sitio.

The homemade salmon carpaccio was in fact just plain old smoked salmon which was v disappointing. The crab and avocado tian was absolutely tiny. Not even big enough for one as a starter, and £8. Cocktails amazing. Service very friendly and helpful. Come for brunch, enjoy sitting outside when it's sunny but don't bother with the evening 'tapas'.

The good things about this restaurant are the friendly staff, the cocktails and the rump steak. The poor things are the over-priced food, the quality of the food, the terrible menu and the noise of two separate, discordant music systems. Not forgetting THE toilet - one shared toilet in a restaurant this size was not a pleasant experience. The whole experience at £50 a head is a HUGE rip-off. What they need to do - improve the variety of menu choices whilst at the same time simplifying the menu (sharing or not) and give bigger portions. Decide whether its a loud, jazz venue or a cool, relaxing place to be. Either way this place is not recommended.

A friend recommended Oui Madame but having read the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. However we decided to give it a go on a busy Saturday evening and I'm so glad we did. The service was excellent - both friendly and efficient. Loved the boho French deco. Customers were a mixture of uber hipster 20 something's and slightly older, fashiony couples. The cocktails are beautiful and delicious. We had a mixture of dishes from the set menu and the French tapas menu. All of the tapas dishes were fabulous - but they are the size of large starters so don't order too many. My boyfriends steak was perfectly cooked but the accompanying potato dauphinois was woefully under seasoned and under cooked. Coffee came in a mini coffee pot which was so much nicer than an espresso. The wine list was disappointingly short for a French bistro and very mediocre - a stronger wine list would give this place five stars. As a total Francophile I will definitely return - it's a tiny slice of civilised Parisian chic amongst the Shoreditch super hipsters.

Went yesterday, There is a choice for a 3 course dinner meal at £23 or you can select your favourite plate/plates of the dinner meal or even choose from a french "tapas" menu.In two we've spent £57.94, for two drinks (orange juice - I know! going to a french bistrot and drinking orange juice!!! I can't drink alcohol at present!!! - and a glass of the house red wine), two mains (duck breast with a light red wine sauce, mashed patatoes and green beans), bread and spicy olive oil to accompany and two dessert (dark chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream). We thought the food was cooked perfectly: meat juicy, green beans very green and crunchy, mashed patatoes smooth with a wonderful butter taste.Chocolate fondant really good, maybe the vanilla ice-cream was not up to the standard of the rest.Downstairs live jazz music, it was just a pity it was downstairs and you couldn't enjoy it during your dinner, maybe they could bring the band upstairs or put a microphone and connect with the upstairs sound system? Because anyway they had music upstairs. We will definetly return and take the three course meal offer!

Took six to restaurant expecting good food , wine and a good atmosphere. The restaurant was busy so the atmosphere was created and was good. Everything else ran short. Two menus, set menu with very little choice and a menu on the wall which was not very conducive to a good read and the whole experience of ordering became extremely confusing. The waiting staff did not help in this either. The wine ordered was not great especially for the price (two for £48). When the food arrived portions were tiny and the food in general was of very poor quality. and yes if steak was ordered it came to the table lukewarm and medium to well done instead of medium rare as ordered. I presume that is because of the 3-4 pounds premium you pay for choosing the dish from the set menu.Though five ordered the set menu and one ordered of the wall, the bill came to £288 which if you take the wine away comes to £ 40 a head instead of the £23 set menu option offered. and to make matters worse, a 12.5% was added to the bill. This was a very poor experience considering it was recommended by a friend who had visited the restaurant when it first opened. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a good eating experience.

We started by ordering a cocktail at the bar as we waited to be seated: "Oui Madame" was its name. They was delicious and the best thing about the experience. Menu-wise, there was very little choice There seemed to be another list of side dishes that could be combined but we decided to choose from the set menu. There were two starters to choose from, an entrecote (or similar) option and one or two(?) other mains plus the set desert of profiteroles for £23.50. The sirloin choice was £4 or so more. We opted for two sirloins and had the two different starters. These were Goat's Cheese Salad and Salad with Smoked Salmon (seperately priced at £6 each). These consisted of a plate of salad leaves, some oil and a slice/tiny slab of goat's cheese (50x40x5mm). It looked like a processed cheese; the kind you find in your local off-licence. It tasted as such too. It didn't taste like goat's cheese. The salmon was equally sparse. The barman then came with two more cocktails. We hadn't ordered them. No-one else had. We decided to take them anyway. Ten minutes later the barman came back and told us there had been a mistake and we wouldn't be charged for the two additional cocktails. We ordered a bottle of house red.The meat and Dauphinoise was ok. Soon after we finished came the bill. Everything had been charged individually. We told the waitress we had opted for the set menu and asked for the desert. Profiteroles duly came (cafe standard) The amended bill followed. It included an automatic 10% service charge (no complaints about the service but nothing special) but we were also charged for one of the extra cocktails that we had been told would be on the house. The following day I had a cheap wine headache for the first time in 15 years. The conclusion is that it was overpriced and under-portioned.What they did charge was both confused and confusing. I would add that there was a touch of dishonesty with the shall we/shan't we charge for the cocktails we hadn't ordered as well as then us charging individually for each course of a set menu. The majority and quality of the food was more akin to a greasy spoon cafe than a restaurant. This "French Dining" was an experience. The accents from the french waitresses and maitre D' help set the scene in what is now a trendy and happening area. Even the wine added to that French-ness, although it brought to mind more french winos glugging cheap plonk from the bottle rather than the restaurant culture the French are famouls for. At £50 a head, my overriding impression is of the owner counting his takings with a huge smile, thinking about the gullible British punters who have just contributed to filling his coffers rather than a restaurant experience I care to repeat, which'd have to be after my headache's subsided anyway!

There were some nice aspects to our evening here but my overriding feeling is that it was over priced and I was cold. Our bill was about £50 per head and it didn't feel like we had had enough to eat. The red mullet main course was the same size as a starter. The steak was good although it was served with lukewarm dauphinoise -- some green vegetable or carrots would have been nice with it. The creme brulee was tiny. If it is styling itself as a French bistro the menu was not very French -- the sharing plates were an odd mix with the menu fixe. I have never been to a French restaurant that does not put bread on the table -- we could have done with it to fill ourselves up. The wine was nice but the cheapest bottle of red was £23. Also for those prices I don't expect to have to put my scarf on and my friend to put her coat on to keep warm. Service veered between being friendly and frosty depending on whether we were playing our part. The 12.5 service charge is "optional " but when we left it only a few pounds short we were asked to come up with the difference. This could be nice -- I like the decor -- but they need to splash out on portion size and some heating. And of course some bread.

If you'd told me five years ago that there'd be a quality French restaurant in the dead zone between Stoke Newington and Dalston I'd have laughed at you. But Oui Madame is a real delight, with a limited but cleverly-created menu that changes every day depending on what the chef can source. We had marinated ham hock with winter vegetable and a first-rate steak at very reasonable prices, and will definitely be returning. Atmosphere is informal and very boho-Parisian (lots of drapes and candles), staff are informal too (lots of stopping to chat about the food and the neighbourhood) and the band/club space downstairs looks great. An adornment to Stoke Newington and well worth a visit.

This restaurant seems to be a bit too clever for its own good. It has a sharing menu which it advertises but with French food sharing simply does not work. Similarly confused is the music. Is the restaurant trying to pull in proper sit down diners or trendy nibbling hipsters. The staff is very friendly and relaxed but it would be good to decide where they want to go with this place.

We were expecting a typical 'French restaurant' - for me that means something with the trappings of a French restaurant which rarely gets the food right. But this place has its own personality and its own atmosphere. We all shared a starter of 'Poulet de bois' (I think that's what it was called). The staff explained clearly that this was a dish of mushrooms picked in Hackney Marshes that have the taste and texture of chicken. Done with a nice herb - tarragon? - they were delicious and had the chicken characteristics described.I had pigs cheeks in a red wine source. Tender and tasted great - not swamped by the red wine flavour. Others had the cod with rice - I tasted this and thought the herb with the cod was too strong and the rice also had strong flavours and didn't work for me.While we seemed to be about two generations older than everyone else in the restaurant, we didn't feel, nor were made to feel, on the old side. And didn't have that new Hoxton feeling that has been creeping up the Kingsland Road in recent years. We weren't rushed and were able to enjoy our meal at our own pace even though it was a busy Friday night.
