Ottoman Restaurant in Rugby

Came here for a family birthday, best desicion made in a while! We had the shared platter for 2, but it easily fed three of us and it’s a very nice building to be in. Excellent service, very nice waitresses and waiters who even gave us tasters of wine! Definitely recommend it for a night out.

This place was recommended to me and I was not disappointed! Great food and friendly service. Will definitely be returning!

This by far was one of the nicest dine in meals I have had in Rugby for some time, service was excellent, the lighting and atmosphere just right for conversation. The food, I am a lamb lover and the Lamb sizzler dish was absolutely delightful, tender with the house sauce,vegetables, side salad rice, all presented beautifully.

very bad experience , food is lovely , service terrible. we has been told 2 hours for a table saturday night (which is fair ), after 1 h 15 mins has been asked to leave, we haven't finish our mains and drinks. Waitress didn't care about guests , she was rude, bad spoken and treated us like idiots, very ignorant. Shame as restaurant itself has potential but service is just no go. Don't worth £150 we paid.

Food is nice, would get 5 stars all round, however seated upstairs and there was 4 people smoking shisha and cigars next to us, ruined the food, hair and clothes stink of smoke. Fair enough have the shisha and vaping but it’s not ok to have cigars and cigarettes smoked in that area when there isn’t enough ventilation.

We went in as a group of 18, from the outset we were looked after extremely well, the staff were pleasant and discreet. The food came out on time with a great selection.

Not only have I dined here on many occasions, my daughter works here part time. My daughter has been treated with nothing but respect and the manager genuinely cares for her well being! I can't leave a review without saying g how AMAZING the cocktails are, especially the porn star martini. Not forgetting the fab belly dancer on a Saturday night! Would I recommend this restaurant, absolutely!!! P.s. The halloumi starters is 10 out of 10!!!

I visited Ottomans this evening with a friend. I don't normally leave a review, but I feel that on this occasion I have to. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy....from the moment we arrived, they could not have done more. Everything we ordered from the menu was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family. And will 100% be back. Thank you so much for a lovely evening ☺️

Visited Ottoman this week, and it was quite a letdown. The prices are absurdly high for what you get— 14 quid for four cubes of chicken, and 12 for a burger that felt like it belonged at a car boot sale food van. The quality definitely doesn't match the cost. Safe to say, we won't be returning.

A lovely Turkish restaurant with delicious food. Cooked in full view. We had a very friendly welcome and quick service. Would definitely recommend. You even get a couple of hours parking free next to ASDA!

Booked for a Saturday night get together with very goid friends. We've all really enjoyed it there. Last Saturday, 16th, was truly awful apart from the food! There is now a belly dancer on Saturdays. The music was so loud we had to shout to make ourselves heard. When we asked for it to be lowered a bit, the answer was the dancer needed it loud to hear it. The waiting staff couldn't hear to take orders correctly and were constantly trying to avoid the dancer as they delivered trays of drinks and sizzling meals, highly dangerous for everyone. Our drinks order was taken promptly and food order shortly after. However, we asked four times for our drinks! 40 minutes after ordering them our starters arrived and the jug of water, wine and beers arrived at exactly the same time 😥. The evening was a disaster we left as soon as we finished eating so we could go somewhere where we could enjoy each others company without shouting. We'll never go again on a Saturday. Service was dreadful, music was far too loud, incorrect food delivered. We felt sorry for the staff.

Absolutely awful experience, night starting with DJ playing music at such a loud volume you couldn’t have a conversation. I ask a waitress if the music could be turned down as my dad was deaf in one ear and she said they wouldn’t be turning it down. Other customers were complaining about the volume as well. We were sat upstairs to have dinner where we was greeted with people smoking next to us, which shouldn’t be allowed in a closed area where they are selling food. Other couples also were complaining about the smoking as well and still nothing was done. Ended up being moved down stairs. We have waited for over an hour for our food and hadn’t even had our starters yet so decided to leave.

Went tonight upstairs where they are serving food as part of restaurant allow smoking which is illegal so I asked waitress who said it’s a shisa lounge and we have a licence I pointed out if it’s used as a restaurant it’s not legal. Anyhow I will take up with EHO so onto service 20 mins to get a drink order then table next to us smoking so moved downstairs music was blaring so no conversation belly dancer up and down stairs with music that was night club volume other couples complaining in smoking but management did nothing. So after waiting for a hour and ten we decided we would go they then said our order hadn’t gone through no apology paid for drinks and went shame as we have been many times but never again avoid if you want a good meal out I do intend to report the smoking as it’s not right they are g Flouting the law. I will never go back

It is a very welcoming and lovely place in Rugby. The lights hanging from the ceiling are very cool, good atmosphere. The food is just amazing, it was the best during my 1 week UK visit. The 2 ladies are very kind and friendly.

Ordered today came in to the restaurant asked for vegan options, there is an option for cold mezze Chargrilled aubergine dip? it seems they have added yoghurt to it, tried calling the restaurant number but it’s invalid- (no number that works) the food doesn’t seem fresh( vine leaves, hummus tastes like vinegar) Disappointed 😢

Well, shisha is 10/10. However, guys the quality of the cocktail ls depends on who is on the shift. Last week was great, today the same cocktails had a different taste and absolutely missing the original taste of the cocktail. 4 alcoholic cocktails without alcohol.

This week is disappointing especially the cocktails. I cannot understand how the taste of the cocktails can be different from the last week experience. The lady from the bar said that she doesn’t know she is not drinking them she is just doing the cocktails and doesn’t care about the taste. Last week we were here and there was a different barman with amazing cocktails and great service. So, unfortunately, the quality of the cocktails depends on who is at the shift. We didn’t order any food today so can’t say about the food quality today, but last week was AMAZING. Shisha amazing as always.

As ex barman can say that today cocktails were DISGUSTING. Last week at the Otoman the same cocktails were fantastic great decorated great taste. This week absolutely no alcohol, no taste, watery. Disappointed!! Last week we paid when we left this week we were pushed to pay as soon as we ordered. Hopefully the management will pick up this concern as we really like Otoman for food and ambiance, but now if we want good drinks we have to look for the barman who served us last week. We questioned the barman she told us that she doesn't drink cocktails and has no clue how the cocktails should taste. For example last week pina colada was decorated with a slice of pineapple this week no.. we asked to taste tequila it was watery even from the bottle.

Food was ok but the evening was spoilt by our waitress. She messed up the starters orders and didn’t apologise and then when she brought the bill she hadn’t deducted the deposit we had paid. It should not be up to the customer to ask for the deposit back. And if it was a genuine error then the waitress should at least apologise. Let’s hope she was just having a bad night. We did occasionally get served by other staff and they were all lovely with good customer service skills.

Lovely restaurant with grill, modern feel with smart styling, lovely tables and chairs with great authentic colourful light shades. Interesting textured walls. There is outside seating to enjoy meal in open air when weather permits. Even an umbrella stand behind the door for those wet days - nice touch. Starters came quickly and were well recieved. Good selection of mains and we found them were very tasty. Vegetarian options plentiful and tasty - nothing left on the plates in our group bore testament to a good meal well liked. Staff were friendly and attentive. Thoughly enjoyed the whole experience in a lovely setting and atmosphere. Kitchen area visible and interesting to see the grill in action during a steady dinner service. There were pudding options but we were all full from starter and main - might try next time skipping starter to try a pudding option that looked lovely.

We encountered horrible service from a server with dark hair in a high top bun. Now, I am not one to normally complain! But her manner was very short and it seemed as though anything we asked was too much of a problem. Her customer service was awful & ruined the atmosphere for us all. I addressed another server and told her my complaint although nothing was really solved and she didn’t come over to the table to apologise. I normally love going to the ottoman but unfortunately because of servers like that particular woman, I will not be returning! Do better.

Went last night and it was amazing. Downstairs is quiet. Upstairs DJ and loud. Food was beautiful. Staff brilliant . Really recommend.

You walk into the restaurant and immediately taken a back by the decor, hanging lamps and general presentation. The food was amazing. Cooked to perfection, flavoursome and filling. I would definitely recommend and will certainly be visiting again.

Only disappointment, there was no lamb shish but the chicken was very good and cooked perfectly.

Very good restaurant, nice vibes on weekends. Busy on roof top. Food was delicious but you have to wait for longer times as i can see staff was not serving at best. We have to wait for longer than 40 minutes for ice cubes and afraid to order something more. In the town centre so not far. Can enjoy shisha at rooftop.

I have been here three times and the food's okay. A bit like those touristy restaurants on a package holiday, good variety but ultimately no depth to it. The service can be hit and miss. But the main reason I would recommend this place is because there is a good ambiance and you do feel like you're on a Mediterranean holiday. Please note if you're seated upstairs you may encounter people chain smoking whilst eating, I didn't mind it so much as it reminded me of the olden days but my teenage son wasn't impressed.

Went for my dads retirement meal. Service was amazing and the food was gorgeous! 100% would recommend going, I booked in last minute and the waitress was extremely accommodating, all the starters we had to share were perfect, especially if you fancied just a girls night and a few nibbles

It was long looking for a decent place, we found the Ottoman restaurant in Rugby. It was unique experience and wonderful service and food. We cannot wait to go back again. Highly recommended

I just ate lunch at the Ottoman Restaurant today. What a pleasant experience. The waiter from the time I entered was very pleasant. He also explained the menu very well. I had the Lamb Beyti which was very nice and tasty. I would love to visit again God willing.

I am working here part time and apart that I love working here ,I love being a customer aswell. I enjoy the quality of the food and the variety of the drinks what they offer. Is a great place in rugby ,where you can serve breakfast,lunch and dinner ,in a romantic place downstairs and a very different ambient upstairs- where smoking is permitted and you can enjoy a "flavoured" shisha,with a live DJ in the weekend. Highly recommended 👌

Great food, friendly staff, big portions. Upstairs “secret garden” is lovely and they have a DJ on a Saturday night creating a great atmosphere in there! Cocktails are also best in rugby!

I reviewed this restaurant when it first opened and we loved it. The portions were good and the service was good and it was good value. Sadly it is declining.......firstly they reduced the portions, then it was you couldn't have rice and chips, you had to buy chips, now they have stopped giving bread! A message to the owner.........big mistake my friend, you weredoing well, you will lose your customers and lose them quickly. Such a shame.

Is ok, but nothing special. We booked in advance but when we arrived they reserved a table for us as no knowledge on our booking. Luckily restaurant was nearly empty. Waitress was freindly and helpful.

Spent over £180 and they were unhappy about a £5.95 dish Which was purchased for the children. Asked for replacement which they refused. Sent me a manager who wasn't a manager and when other diners heard they asked why I haven't spoken to a manager and still speaking to colleagues. When I explained they said the manager was not female but a male and was visible in the kitchen. Customer service was shocking. AVOID

Went for lunch on a Wednesday. Atmosphere is very good with Turkish themed decoration. Additional seatings in first floor. Restaurant was empty, we were told by the staff that it will be very busy on weekends. Service by the waitress was good. Food was not upto the expectation, probably one of the worst Turkish food that I had so far. Good thing about the food is, it was made fresh. Long wait time but acceptable as the food was made fresh. Adana kebab was not cooked well and chicken grill was average. Average portion. Will try one more time on a weekend to see if things are different.

I ordered the food 2/3 days in advance and then got there and waited 2 hours for them to serve me...

The only thing freshly made here is the Bill. The white sauce came along with the burned dough was straight from the Jar. I have ordered my starters 2 weeks in advance as a group of 12 persons, luckily I never got it. Salty and Tasteless Sheesh Kebab is freshly made few months ago in Turkey. From the quality of bone pieces in Adana Kebab, the business owner assure you that the meat is from an animal. No taste of Beef or Lamb whatsoever. The best part is you can bring your own meat and grill it above your head on the Heaters blowing hot air to your face. As a cherry on the cake, rude and unprofessional staff. Overall, feel sorry for the people waste their time and money here.

I went for lunch with a friend. I had 2 starters rather than a main course and was quite full after. I chose stuffed vine leaves and lamb meat balls. Both were very tasty. We where given some foccacia bread and a couple of dips, one spicy and one a creamy garlicy one. I had fresh mint tea that complimented the meal and was very refreshing. I will definitely go again and try the evening menu. The lighting is beautiful . I did note that the bar is very well stocked, it even has campari which I nearly always have to go without as so few eateries stock it.

Was great when first open though very expensive. Went back for lunch and was horrified. Husband x had lamb shish kebab. He got 4 pieces...and load of salad. 4 x approx 1inch cubes of lamb for I think around £15. I had Moussaka and it looked like it had been thrown on the plate. So all the topping was at the bottom and mushy. Would never go hear this place again. Servers had changed and werd also not great.

Positives up front. The atmosphere is charming, for sure, one of the most excellent restaurant environments in Rugby. Their hours are good, and most places are closed after 5, so this is a great option if you want an evening out during the week. The service was prompt and efficient, if not especially friendly and welcoming. This place has a few challenges. The first is that the food is just okay. It's good but could be better. A flavorful cuisine like this should be as fresh and vibrant as the decor. The second challenge is that the portions of the entrees are small. And their biggest challenge is that their prices are too high. Just way too high when you consider the other two problems. If the food was amazing, okay, maybe. If the portions were generous, okay, maybe. But neither is the case. If you want to attract and keep customers who will give you good word of mouth, give them great value. Then they will come back and bring their friends. Rugby sorely needs nice restaurants like this. I hope they work it out because it has great potential.

My first visit. The board outside advertised lunches from £5.99. I discovered no such thing, as the average dishes were c.£12. When I queried the waitress said it could be £5.99 or less if I ordered a starter! Despite this, the food and service was good. Complimentary bread and dips made up a little for the misleading notice. However, I think they should remove it.

First visit last night in a group of 15. Food had been pre-ordered. 7 starters came out, rest of group said to eat while it was hot. We had finished by the time the rest came out. Same with main course, 7 meals came out, didn't ask what meat we had ordered, just put plates in front of people. Again we were told to start. 10/15 minutes more plates came out, and then they were given bowls of rice. No rice for us who had eaten most of the meal! Queried this, as well as pointing out 3 people still hadn't had their meals. Was told it was coming and brushed aside when asked why people who were served later had rice with their meal. They didn't seem to think it was a problem. By the time our rice appeared, 2 bowls between 7, (when the rest had individual bowls), we had finished eating. They were serving other tables all the time who had come in long after us, while we were waiting for food that had been pre-ordered, which was all the same apart the meat. A total shambles, none of us would go back, and would not recommend to anyone else.

Food has the potential to be great, however depending how long you have to wait for all of it to arrive, my main arrived and 20 minutes later the rice turned up, the kitchen could not keep up the order for our party 15, some finished whilst others hadn't started. Waitresses were lovely. But the kitchen should sort out the speed of service.

We've been here a couple of times and the food is lovely, and the atmosphere good. However we went for the first time last night with friends and when we asked to split the £150 bill we were refused because it costs them money on each transaction! Never had this as an issue before in any restaurant, surely its part and parcel of having a business? Poor end to a good evening.

Great staff, great tasting food, and some really nice Turkish wines. Ottoman Special Chicken was absolutely delicious.

Went with my partner. Have been before at quieter times and the staff have been friendly. Today the staff struggled to understand us and one was slow to take our order (until we asked) and actually rolled her eyes at us. We ordered food and they missed a main ingredient, it also tasted of nothing and was not cooked properly, nor was it hot. When I complained they rolled their eyes. Eventually the said they were sorry the chef had missed this ingredient it was a mistake and they could give us free baklava or 5% off. Even though they had admitted fault they refused to refund us the meal. What a shame it used to be a lovely place to eat and today has been utterly disappointing.
