Ordered a take out, had noodles the taste of what there was cooked in is awful, currys sauce is also the worst iv ever tasted. Special chow main was dry and very bland not very good at all. 1st time trying I will not be back.

Come to this restaurant for dim sum lunch after seeing their website menu, drove hour and half to get there with high hopes that they are good, BUT was very disappointed, they don't make their dim sums themselves (some could be frozen), a lot of dim sums are not available when asking. Ordered a roast duck and roast crackling pork to take away, the roast duck is good but the roast pork is not. Would I go back there? NO I won't. They are not up to my standard. I was in catering business for 4 decades.

We came for Dim Sum. This was our first visit to Oriental Palace and we’ll definitely be back. The food was amazing and welcome was friendly. Five stars!

This is a very simple laid back restaurant. Not quite particularly very fancy but just for folks who want a simple Chinese styled meal.

Incredible authentic Chinese cuisine, stuffed tofu to die for! Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Highly recommended!

Had a takeaway and it was complete disaster- they forgot to put chips in the bag so we ended up cooking ones at home. Fried noodles were tasteless mush of boiled grey substance. Spicy beef was bland and watery. For the price of cafe on takeaway meal I would get much better quality in Lidl next door paying a quarter of amount. Avoid.

We have gone for years on and off. The service is always a bit slow and often you get some dishes quite late so not together as a family. The food is all authentic and fresh but just ok to good. The Singapore fried rice was greasy, mixed starter good and other dishes ok. The meat isn’t good quality like at most Chinese restaurants. Often they will only take cash too when there are 4 of you is awkward nowadays.

Had a lovely meal owners were lovely will defiantly be going back. Food fantastic & portions large.

I visited with my granddaughter, she had only eaten in a Chinese restaurant on holiday in Cyprus. We booked for 7 pm on Saturday night. Nice welcome from the staff, shown our table, We decided on the sharing platter for starters. Beth chose a chicken & Noddles main course, I picked the sweet & sour Prawns with egg fried rice. The starters were very good , plenty for two people. Great choice. Our mains came after a short wait. Her chicken & noodles were in a huge bowl. Beth said it was very good but it was too much for her. My sweet & sour Prawns were the best I've had , with plenty of king prawns. We both agreed we will use it again

So, I ordered a meal for one: beef with black bean sauce, extra broccoli, and a portion of noodles. The delivery distance was 1 and a half miles, and it came to a total of £15. Now, I don’t mind paying for good food; I’d even be willing to pay more if I genuinely enjoy it. But here’s the catch. When the delivery driver arrived, he asked for £17, and I handed him £20. However, he claimed not to have any change. I usually tip a minimum of a pound, but he didn’t have change for my £20, which left me feeling annoyed. Maybe I’m overreacting, but the meal essentially cost me £20, right? Now, let’s talk about the food. It looked amazing, and I couldn’t wait for the first bite. As I dug in, my optimism started to wane. I really wanted this food to be good, especially since I had just paid £20 for it. I gave it a fair chance, but the more I ate, the more I realized it was a complete waste of money. It lacked flavor, the broccoli had no crunch, and aside from the distinctive taste of the black beans, there wasn’t much going on. Overall, the meal was disappointing. As someone who’s passionate about food and truly appreciates a good meal, this experience was far from satisfying. I hope the owner takes note. All the best.

Oriental palace is the best restaurant in Hull. Been coming here for two years now and food has never disappointed. Staff are friendly and attentive. Owners and chefs are chinese, so food is authentic. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Walked in for a take away , ordered special curry & chips , & spacial chow mein - she charged me £24 . I normally goto golden star who charge £16 . I was expecting this to reflect in the quality if the food . But it was horrible , the chow mein was cold tasteless and had fat instead of meat .The special curry was hot but again fatty meat , the chicken was chewy , the small portion of chips was tasteless .we threw it all in the bin , what a waste of £24 - thats restaurant prices , we took it away an threw it away - id give zero stars if i could !!! Will stick with golden star in the future .

Got recommended to try here which glad we did. We really enjoyed our meal. Staff are also very polite.

I visited here with a group of friends for lunch. The service was very speedy and the food was absolutely delicious. Fresh dimsum and large tasty portions. The food was all freshly prepared and you could easily tell that they use high quality ingredients. We were all absolutely stuffed after our meals and all left very happy and will definitely be back!!! We all highly recommend this restaurant 🩷✨

Excellent review from me. All the dishes we've tried were great. Shame I did not take any photos. There were 8 of us, including kids. We all got different dishes, so we tried quite a few of the menu. Fried radish, fried octopus tenticles, crispy duck, duck in plum sauce, special fried rice, pork belly, noodle soup with beef and mushrooms😍 The food was served almost immediately, portions were good, and we all loved it!Thank you Oriental Palace, and see you soon 😊

Very tasty roast duck and pork.

Absolutely great meal every time we go. Great vegetarian options and great drinks - the ladies always remember who you are and it is a fantastic place.

Sticky tasteless food with very small portion for the price. Chef special of stewed beef brisket, 5 piece of sliced of something, taste tender but nothing like beef. The vegetarian meal has 4 piece of Tofu instead of seafood but charged the same price. Get 2 star because the staff seems friendly.

Absolutely one of the best Asian restaurants I’ve been to, great vegan options and sizes. Pretty much every vegetarian option was vegan too. The mixed vegetable vermicelli soup was huge and super tasty

My wife and I have been going here for a number of years and its really is fantastic. The staff are so kind and hospitable and the food is, in my opinion, the most authentic Chinese food in the area. Today has been our first time eating out with our baby since lockdown so we were happy to get out and to enjoy some delicious food and see the lovely staff that work there. 10/10

Nice dimsum! will definitely visit again

Visited on a Friday night , seven ex workmates. We ordered starters including sharing starters . Then mains meals ,plenty of varied meals. Service spot on. Meals excellent Chinese beer went down well. Worked out including drinks £30 per head. Probably the best Chinese in Hull

Nice friendly restaurant. Was quite busy Saturday night and a popular spot for the local Chinese community which is always good. I had some Chinese vegetables and seafood on crispy noodles which was good. The chilli oil could be a lot hotter. Also a couple of drinks which came to just over £20. There seems to be a lot of Chinese uni students.

The food was certainly made for Chinese taste. I managed to eat most of mine. You never know before you try somewhere if it caters for British or Chinese taste. No complaints for god's sake it's a Chinese restaurant Lol

I took my family here on a Sunday before the aquarium. We went in at noon, as soon as they open, and we were not the first ppl in. After we were seated, three huge parties of 9, 18, and 8 were seated so I got my order in immediately. At least 90% of the patrons were Chinese, with the odd person marrying into the clan. The food was good and tastes authentic. It's the closest thing to real Chinese food that I've had in this part of England. The clay pot casseroles were especially on point. The beef brisket one has daikon in it. I haven't had daikon in 4 years!

Great dim sum, friendly staff, worth a visit.

We've been here a few times and always liked it and can tell there is a very good chef (or two ) at work .However I felt we always ordered badly.. We don't eat meat only veg and seafood and things clashed a bit. This time we did it right and the food was a delight...ho fun noodles dry fried with veg and a lovely wok hei fragrance to it.. a rarity these days. Salt and chilli prawns and squid with a nice little dish of chilli sauce (la jiao jiang) and a hot pot of tofu and seafood with boiled rice and jasmine tea. Excellent friendly service and the chatter of Chinese customers made for a lovely lunch, Thank you.

Best Chinese restaurant in Hull by far! Been a regular family spot for years and it’s always delicious. Friendly staff and great good at decent prices. Highly recommended.

Good food and friendly atmosphere

My wife is Chinese and this is the only Chinese restaurant in Hull that she will eat in. If you want authentic Chinese food, this is the place you want to go.

Tried this place for first time for take away as dine in was closing. A friend recommended it. Absolutely blown away. I've missed these rich flavours and generous portions since moving from South East London to Hull and haven't had Chinese in Hull that comes close to this in Hull. I had mixed seafood with ho fun and beef casserole. Plenty of squid prawns and fish balls, nice thick flavoursome ho fun, rich flavour, big portion and also the casserole was homely, rich and the beef melted in my lol mouth. I've recommended it to 3 people today after just one visit and am finishing off left overs for lunch today highly recommend. Thanks. James.

Just a fantastic restaurant. Amazing food and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It is a shame we live so far away, otherwise we would be eating there every few weeks.

Saturday 11th September. Took my 9 year old. I wish we didn't live over 200 miles away or we would be back sooner. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, so tasty and lots of it. Fabulous

Absolutely the best Chinese food I have eaten in Hull, their dim sum menu (before 5 only) is delicious. Portions are fantastic and prices reasonable.

I’ve visited twice, once at lunch for the dim sum and once for dinner. The food is amazing and such good value for money! Both times we ordered large amounts of food & drink which cost less than £50, bargain for a date night.

Go to their shop but find that it is close, without any notifications in website earlier. It is disappointed and frustrated to drive half and hour more or take an hour bus to be there but they do not make any notice of closing earlier. If they want to have rest, they could officially make a day per week as off . Due to such service and careless on customers, I drop them off from my visit list.

Very disappointed return customer. Waited over an hour an a half for a telephone collection order. Watched numerous customers in the restaurant getting served whilst I was repeatedly told my food was coming. Won't continue to recommend you based on this very poor experience.

We have eaten here many times over the last few months. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly and the food every time has been outstanding. Our favourite dishes are the soft shell crab,the duck which is very tender and tasty the prawns without shell are delicious.The food is very reasonably priced

Another fabulous evening out with hosts Helen and Phil ! Soft Shell Crab, Sweet ad Sour Pork Lots of Chow Mein. We have been coming here since it opened 8 years ago and it has always been the best Chinese food we have eaten, even when in Singapore!! Many congratulation to a fine chef and the team!

The Restaurant was quiet but that was fine, social distances were observed at all times.I ordered a meal not on the menu that was cooked to perfection and arrived very quickly, my partners meal was excellent as well.Karen had checked out the reviews for this place and the Oriental Palace certainly lived up to the reviews.We will be back, the bill was around £30, good value for money.

If I could rate this place more than 5 stars I would, we waited for 10 mins for our food to arrive. The food was A1 tender beef and full of flavour, the staff were very helpful and friendly always asked if we wanted a drink and to see if our food was alright I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone

Fantastic food. Quite busy so a wait was to be expected. Cold beer, green tea good. Crispy chilli beef outstanding, some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Chicken with yellow bean sauce terrific. Mixed starter brilliant.

Oriental Palace is the best when it comes to authentic chinese, I love this place! You won’t get anything like it in this area. Food is always so good and I’ve never had one bad meal from here. Dim sum is freshly made to order, no frozen rubbish! The staff are really friendly and couldn’t be anymore welcoming. Honestly you won’t be disappointed, it’s the BEST!!!

This place is absolutely wonderful. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, there is such a comfortable atmosphere. We found this place looking for other places that make dim sum in the area and we are so glad we did as this has become our new favourite place. The waiter is really friendly and approachable, they are so attentive and so are the owners. You can tell they care alot about their customers and their food. The dim sum is made fresh on site by an extremely experienced dim sum chef that has come up to live from london. It is hands down the best I have tried. We were hesitant as it is situated near the busy bev road crossroads but there is a large car park behind, accessed from the side street on bev road and there are always plenty of spaces. No time limit and no parking restrictions. It's such an easy place to get to and it really is a lovely experience. The food is fantastic and the prices are really reasonable. Definately the best place to eat in hull. We will be coming back as often as we can.

I came in here last night and I could not praise this restaurant enough. The food, service and amposohere were incredible. The food is something else, I have never had a Chinese that tasted this amazing for such a long time. I'm not from around here, as I'm here for university studies. This beats any takeaway and restaurants back at home and in Hull. If you fancy something new, try this place. You will not be disappointed.

Very good authentic Chinese food. I was there with my Chinese girlfriend and some friends. She liked it, which is not always the case when we look for a good chinese dinner. Easy to find, take any of the buses going up or down Beverley Road, bus stops are nearby.

I've been to Oriental Palace a few times now, both dine in and take away. I have been impressed with the food every time. Also the staff are smiley and happy and don't seem to stop.

I really enjoyed the large menu. Plenty of options for all tastes. Dim sum only available until 5pm, so we came back the following day for dumplings. Nothing fancy, just decently-priced, solid food. We will certainly return!

So far I have not found a better place to eat traditional Chinese food, their customer service is great, always have a smile and are polite. The duck, pork belly and chicken are to die for, couldn’t recommend here enough!

Go to this restaurant once a month and got to say the quality of food and speed of service is really good. If you enjoy Chinese food, worth visiting.

I've been here a few times and the food is consistently excellent. Good size, reasonably priced, tasty portions on main meals. Dim sums are also excellent when I popped in for lunch. Take away and delivery also available.

We often come here for Lunch on Sundays. The Dimsum is always good and the service is friendly and efficient. It is unbeatable good value for money.

As the title suggests, we went for the first time for ours, ordered all different items, which was cooked fresh and very tasty. Only thing I would I would change next time we go is to go later,(we went around 6pm on a Sunday too) and was busy people picking up take-aways.

Warm, welcoming, professional service throughout our visit. The staff were tentative to our needs and they were really friendly to us and our young children. The children were given their own cutlery and crockery without having to ask. The food was excellent - nothing was overcooked or over/under seasoned like I have experienced in other Chinese restaurants. It is a small restaurant compared to others but the food and the staff deserve the waiting time to be seated. Lucky we went when it wasn't rush hour :) Definitely going back when I am in Hull.

We eat here every few months as a family with 2 teenage children. Despite having some faddy eaters there are always things on the menu for everyone. A large proprotion of the clientelle are Chinese and so it must be OK. I often get the impression that the Chinese people get a different menu, but maybe I just haven't figured out how to order an authenic mix of dishes.

Excellent service, excellent food.. love this place, authentic Chinese restaurant.. would highly recommend the three roasties and dim sum from here, always friendly and welcoming.. portion sizes are huge!

Arrived at 20:00 without a reservation and the restraunt was about half full so we were easily seated. There was a choice of a main menu and a set menu. We went with the main menu and decided on skipping staters and went with two main meals off salt and pepper prawns and squid, with a second main off Beef old mamma style. With a special fried rice. There is a good selection off drinks available but we went with Chinese tea for two. We received complementary prawn crackers whilst we waited for our meals to arrive which they did quickly in around ten minutes. The salt and pepper prawns and squid was nice and crispy. The beef was in a chilly style sauce which was nice and flavorful without being too spicy. The bill came up to £26.10 which is a great price for a meal for two including drinks. Would definitely go back again
