Had a great meal. Got to try chicken feet, which were amazing. Overall great experience. Only minor thing was needing to request chopsticks but it's understandable so that peoe don't have to embarrass themselves asking for a fork.

This has to be the best value Chinese in the area. Portions very good and price spot on. Food all fresh, hot and tasty 😋

Authentic vibe really good food

First of all the staff are very friendly and welcoming , a family feel to the place , the food is lovley , served hot and fresh , I would recommend just about everything , reasonably priced ,always leave with a full stomach

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Hull. As of 2024 they take card payments too. You might find it on the other side of the road as at the time of writing Google maps have the restaurant on the wrong side of the road. Yes still wrong location on Google Maps I will try again only 1 in 6 corrections I make are put up. Lot of work for little progress. This has limited pescatarian and vegetarian options but a discussion with the staff will increase the options. The menus has been scaled back since Covid but is still excellent. Visit and enjoy the atmosphere

Cute place if you are craving some nice traditional chinese food. We were visiting the area and found this nice place on Google Maps. I am vegan so I asked for a nice tofu with vegetables dish. It was really tasty. ✨✨ The only con was the final bill, prices are higher then expected. Thank you✌️

Went tonight 2/2/24 6 of us each having different meals, 1st class service ,no complaints whatsoever, definitely will be returning

Four of us booked a table for a Saturday evening. As others have said, the decor leaves something to be desired, not a massive issue as the food was lovely. Two big problems would stop us returning: we were the only people in there and it was £50/couple which wasn’t good value for money given the decor and the lack of atmosphere,

Booked a table after going to hull new theatre. Very quick service. Starter was really good then it went downhill from there. Rice was tasteless, noodles were tasteless and cold and sweet and sour was tasteless chicken in an awful thick heavy batter. Had a lot of Chinese meals and this was one of the worst. Won’t be returning. Terrible .

We had a really delicious meal here yesterday. We were in Hull as we were watching a show and needed to eat early. I’d read the reviews and decided to give it a chance… I’m really glad I did. As others reviews say - don’t be put off my the dated tired and drab cafe interior! The service was great for us, we ordered, they brought the drinks then the food, we ate, they checked everything was ok, they brought the bill! The food was delicious! And the portions huge! They now take card payments (as of last week apparently) Well definitely go again.

Excellent authentic Chinese food.

Their website did not state cash only. My husband walked for 30 minutes trying unsuccessfully trying to find one. Totally unsympathetic to our plight. Had to pay back.

Excellent meal. Well-marinaded meat in a nice thick sauce with chilli and plenty of veg. Was just what I wanted and it didn't disappoint.

Made a reservation for this evening, read reviews, sounded great,ordered starters which were nice, tried meat dumplings, didn't think much, batter extremely soggy, ordered beef an fried noodles, wasn't impressed with the beef, strange consistency, wouldn't go again, plus only accepted cash, and bill was in Chinese, had no idea what been charged for, it was expensive!!!

Great place to go , just 2 minutes from Hull New Theatre. Very good food, fairly priced and the staff are first class.

The food is good, always hot and fresh. Served with a smile but unfortunately the cash only policy is ridiculous and outdated. They lose so much custom for being cash only. The other problem is you never know if it will be open or not, they NEVER stick to the advertised times. Very disappointed.

Just discovered this little hidden treasure tucked away down Charles Street. Beautiful restaurant, high quality delicious food , good value and super, friendly professional service. The young man behind the bar can't do enough for you and you're always assured of a pleasant welcome. Highly recommended if you're visiting the Hull New theatre or bars in the area. We will definitely call again, Highly recommended! Terry and family .

I really don’t understand all the positive reviews. The food is average at best and the service is really poor. Bland food and very overpriced. Considering the other great options nearby, I would avoid.

A hidden little treasure in the heart of Hull. If you want good food - you must eat here. Decor not great but the food is amazing

Booked in advance. Service very polite and quick. Ordered Dimsum and prawn toast to start. Both delicious though guessing the Dimsum is bought in frozen, especially the char sui buns. King prawn fried noodles and chili beef for main course. I think the fact that they were so big meant we enjoyed them less. Both courses were very big and would easily have fed two. In my case the chili beef came in a lake of sauce and oil which some may like but I didn’t. I suspect this is a style of chinese good we’re not used to in the UK. It reminded me of what you get in HK. Nicely cooked but too much of it. Service was excellent and very friendly and they were clearly busy, including with Chinese families.

Came in with my mum for her birthday we had 2 dim sum which was nice but the main meals were inedible. Apparently beef satay is meant to be half a bag of sugar in the recipe in each of the meals. Never coming back here ever out of principle. Waste of money proper Micky takers.

Myself and three friends were struggling to find some where for dinner. We went in without great expectation. What a pleasant surprise. This obviously family run restaurant gave us the best Chinese food we have tasted. Everything was so good. The lamb stew, beef with black bean...everything. Great value as well. I will go out of my way to return.

Lovely old school style Chinese with fantastic staff and amazing food, only draw back is its cash only!

Went out on a date night with my boyfriend and it was amazing. The service was amazing, staff were really friendly. Definitely suggest this place if you're looking for somewhere quiet. It was my first time trying the shrimp and pork dumplings but for first time try, I'll be coming back for sure!

Definitely some positives. Single staff member was lovely, good , atmospheric premises. Quick. Great noodles which appeared freshly cooked and tasty custard buns. Looking at the menu I was excited to order the roast duck. My expectation was traditional on the bone, tasty warm duck with crispy skin. I didn't mind it was off the bone but it was luke warm and soggy. I'm not used to the sauce over it but looking at the way it was around the edges I suspect it was microwaved. The dumplings, although freshly cooked, didn't feel traditional either. My final bit is - cash only? In a city, in 2023?

Was told about this place and what lovely food cooked here, we did book a table over the phone a week before, but we wasn't told it was cash only!! What place these days are cash only, i wasn't told this on the phone, but was told where the nearest cash machine was, luckily i did have enough money on us. Now the food was lovely and served quickly with lots of choice on the menu. Our opinion on the place was it's not really a restaurant, more of a takeaway where you can eat in, tables and chairs very basic with no atmosphere, this is somewhere i won't be making another visit to.

Terrible food. We got duck dumplings and squid for starters and they were greasy and tasted bad - don’t recomend. Beef hotpot as a main which was the only good thing. Salt and pepper beef which was not worth it. The chips were bad as a side. Boiled rice and fried noodle sides were fine. Inside is terrible. Seating, tables etc. not great at all. On top of that it was very cold. A few of us had to keep out coats on. I could have forgiven everything if the food wasn’t so bad. And the prices arnt cheap either. Really not worth eating here. I must say the service was absolutely lovely. I like that the servers still wear their masks. And they are very polite. I personally think there was an issue with the bill on their end but the party felt it would be rude to ask. So I do wish they would do a proper bill.

One of my Favorite restaurant in town. Good food 😋. This time chicken corn soup with generous chucks of chicken. Singapore style vermicelli and some steamed pork dumplings.

Superb food, great portions, excellent service

Upon arrival, several drunken staff members were shouting loudly in sn adjacent part of the "restaurant ". The duck curry which I ate left me with 2 day cramps and diarrhoea. The waitress clearly did not want to be there, and the guy on the desk spent his time counting cash. Terrible atmosphere in the place. I've been to some dives but this took the biscuit. Visiting the city for a weekend break for my anniversary. Ruined our Saturday night. Avoid like the plague!

Delicious fresh tasting yummy Chinese food. We ate here a few months ago and had a banquet, tasty and good value. This afternoon, we returned to try the rest of the menu. Squid cakes, steamed ribs and pork dumplings from the dimsum menu- all delicious and fresh. For mains, seafood with veggies, and salt and pepper beef, both really tasty, good sized portions. Really enjoyable food, friendly efficient staff. Highly recommended

Used to visit here regularly for the food more than the atmosphere staff have always been efficient but not over friendly we visited on Saturday night after booking a table found the menu greatly reduced and a lot more expensive £8for prawn toast starter is a bit much food was ok but not a patch on what it used to be

Very nice food. I have king prawn sate and it tasted lovely with plenty of prawns. The food was great value. However the beer was a little expensive in my opinion. Please note they are a Cash only business which is unusual nowadays.

Went here on Thursday 27 January. 6 of us for birthday 🎂 . We got a banquet starter followed by our mains prawn curry was spot on as was prawn and ginger spring onions .everyone enjoyed there meal we had drinks 🍸 and found it very reasonable definitely be going again

Google shows that they open from 12pm.Came here , drived 1h and only to stand near the shop like and idiot to be informed that they open only from 15:00 🙂

Nice traditional Chinese restaurant

Always a good choice as eat in or take away. Vast menu of tasty fresh traditional Chinese cuisine. Not the most stylish place but the food and service make up for the decor. Beware it's cash only! But worth every penny.

I'm giving this a 5 star to make sure this review comes up. I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Ordered for mixed vegetable rice and it was served watery and bland. Ordered for sweet & sour spare ribs and was given something that looks and tastes entirely different and the waiter insisted it was what I had ordered. I have been to a couple of Chinese restaurants here in the UK and their food was amazing, but this one I will definitely NOT recommend. Left without eating a meal I spent 24 pounds on.

Good quality food, large portion size, great value, what more do you want. Not the best looking restaurant, but if you want good food this is your place. Remember take cash, I got caught out and had to go for a walk to the cashpoint....

Amazing food, everything very tasty, shame it was quiet as it deserves to be full. Ordered mixed starter for two, quarter duck, fried noodles sweet and sour chicken and chicken curry with rice. Plenty of food and full of flavour. Staff attentive and reasonably priced....

With my usual Chinese closes for the week, me and my family ended up coming here. The food was enjoyable but the restaurant was far to cramped, to the point someone on the table next to us and I accidently bumped elbows twice during the course of the meal. It would make me uncomfortable in good times, but with Covid still very much being a thing I felt unsafe. Would recommend customers use as a takeaway, but not as a restaurant.

Delicious food, large portions, friendly and attentive staff. The decor is traditional and perhaps slightly less modern than it could be, but this is a very minor issue in the face of Yinjibar's many, many positive features. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to any and all who asked!
