Oriental Hut in Stockport

This has been our favourite Chinese takeaway for years. Had a really dissmeal last month but decided to give it another go. Yet again the spare ribs had no meat on them and the prawns in plum sauce was in Pineapple chunks like the duck. Why have plum sauce on the menu when they don't do it? Really disappointing. Won't back unfortunately

Great meal divered from this takeaway, food was lovely. Barbeque ribs special fried rice and prawn crackers, delish.

We waited over 30 minutes for our food. 2 people came in and ordered food while we were waiting and came back 15 minutes later and there order was ready. The food was good despite the wait.

We have had lovely food delivered from The Oriental Hut regularly all through the pandemic and the food has always been great and delivered very quickly, Lovely staff and driver.

I order regularly from oriental hut. The couple that run it are so lovely and work so hard! The food is always spot on. The delivery driver joe is always smiling too :) I defo recommend.

I was very happy with the Sichuan king prawns I ordered. There was a good quantity of large well cooked prawns and the sauce was spicy without being overpowering. Nice selection of vegetables. I especially liked the way that the green peppers were cooked through,but still with a bite.With regards to previous reviews about timing, we ordered 4 main dishes and 4 sides, and waited around 15 - 20 minutes. We went just after 6 o’clock on a rainy night in early December. It could be that they cook to order, which might account for the time taken.In any case, we very much enjoyed our food and would eat from there again.

I don’t know what has happened to this place. Once the best Chinese takeaway for miles and now shocking service. The last 3 times I’ve ordered, they missed food off the order, last time order came an hour and a half late and now as I write, I ordered .at 17.34 and was told delivery would be up to an hour and a half max, so expected food at 7pm. It’s now 7.50 and no sign, no apology. I won’t be using them again

First time ordering from Oriental Hut for a couple of years. Ordered food at 6pm. Advised there would be a 1.5 hour wait, which we were fine with. Order eventually arrived at 9pm after we had chased it up several times and had just about given up hope of it ever arriving: 3 hours wait! No apology for being so late. Two items missing from order (their mistake), including our daughter’s entire meal. Called to ask them to bring the missing items and was asked to pay extra for these. Declined and made our daughter an omelette. What a shame, as the food was nice (although a bit cold). No way we’ll use oriental hut again or recommend to anybody else. Wouldn’t have written a negative review if we’d received an apology and missing items with no extra charge or wait.

Absolutely appalling service. Self isolating explained that would leave cash for them but refused to deliver. Had been a regular customer. Will never use again and tell everyone why you shouldn’t. So much for helping each other out. Disgusted.

We have used Oriental Hut for as long as they’ve been there, it has always been excellent,until tonight, after ordering our meal at 6:00pm and being advised delivery would be “90 minutes “ we were still waiting at 8:30,after phoning, and being assured that we would only have to wait ”10 minutes” we went up to collect the food, we were forced to wait another 45 minutes, to cap it all, a previous customer had £30 knocked off their food after waiting for a similar time and offering £50 instead of the full price,,my wife, after asking for a similar discount was offered “free spring rolls” by an incandescent owner, who obviously had not sanctioned the aforementioned discount offered by the young lad.Furthermore, several other customers, walked out after waiting, and then cancelling their orders, another customer advised, that when their phone rang not to take any more orders, “as you can’t meet the orders you already have” and then left. On finally receiving our order, we returned home, only to find that our order was wrong, you really could not make it up!Needless to say, we will not be returning, which is a shame, but we will not be taken as fools.Chinese New Year or not, I hope that they have time to consider this appalling lack of customer service going forward, when customers are a little harder to come by!

I noticed that the reviews here are quite old, so not sure if it's changed hands, but we found this on holiday and went d for a takeaway.I had salt and pepper King prawns (with chilli) and a king prawn chow Mein, and husbee had chicken with hoisin sauce and egg fried rice.My 2 prawn dishes were absolutely delicious, I would say the best I've had, 10/10! Husbee enjoyed his and said for him they were an 8/10.It looks nothing from the road, in fact looks very seedy, but reviews on the just eat app also reflect mine, so do give it a try, the menu is very comprehensive so there is something for everyone. If we come back to the same area I would definitely return!

Enjoyed several take-aways from here. All of which have been very good. Portions are substantial. Price wise it's very reasonable.

Me and my boyfriend base how good a Chinese is on the quality of their salt and pepper chips, as they are a favourite food of ours. Having cravings recently but not having the funds for a full on Chinese takeaway, we came across the appetiser 'Salt and Pepper chicken with chips' for only £5.20 each and so we decided to try out the Oriental Hut for the first time. We were not disappointed! The salt and pepper chicken was really good and they gave us a good amount alongside the chips. Also, found the chips weren't soggy and had a lovely flavour to them so although we didn't purchase much from this Chinese, we will definitely be returning again to try more dishes.

Hemos usado este para llevar un par de veces y nos pareció muy buena las costillas de repuesto. Costillas ordenados y pato en salsa de ciruela. La comida llegó y el pato en salsa de ciruela resultó ser una bandeja de pato seco y separado de trozos de piña bandeja? ? ? ? No es pato en salsa de ciruela. . . No hay aún una. pato con piña comida en el menú. Nunca comida para llevar desde aquí de nuevo. . Muy decepcionante.

Tenía el llevar y entrega con en 35 minutos. Porciones de buen tamaño y caliente y fresco. Sal y pimienta para empezar, alitas de pollo, carne y sabroso que eran.Con salsa de curry Singapur vermacelli y especial estilo dulce y agria Hong kong con arroz frito, todo excelente y fresca, sin duda recomendaría a cualquiera para probar.

We ordered food for 3 before the England match. It was delivered on time . We had a variety of mixed starters and then Thai curries all of which were really good . The prawns and chicken were plentiful. It was very good value
