Fkin awful greasy dump foods horrible

Been going for 15 years and never had any issues. If they make a mistake (which they did once as I remember) they quickly correct it and make up for it. Fast delivery and tasty food. I didn’t give it top marks because it's just not what you do but personally I can't fault the Chinese Emperor on value, service or food.

Absolutley disgusting, all seemed to be reheated food everything deep fried.

Nearly £15 for one person's meal (sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, won tons and a can) is abit pricey in my opinion. The egg fried rice is not fried rice at all, its boiled rice with bits of scrambled egg in it and NO flavour. The sweet and sour was overpowering with pineapple, reminded me of uncle bens jar sauces. Only went as my normal one was closed and won't be going back, only good thing is the won tons.

Consistently good food, worth the wait

Well if you are still Jung’s after a 2 and a half hour wait, go ahead, as long as your microwave works.

Dumplings burnt, food tasteless . Salt and pepper chips reheated no taste . Won’t be going back .

Everything was really nice, I like that there is a selection of three different boxes to suit whatever you may fancy at the time thanks 👍

Superb food and friendly quick service.

I went for some food with friends and the meal was how would you say it, I’d like to say disgusting was the right word but it doesn’t come close. I had BLACK CURLY HAIR, embedded in my rice which wasn’t even cooked and was warmed up that night, my friend sue experienced a horrendous belly ache due to the food ate that night. Will not be returning I cannot cope.

Amazing food, best ever Chinese I ever went to. The only disadvantage is that there is no website. We should be able to order through a website especially for a person who struggles to order things over the phone

2nd time I purchased from here as I fell ill the first time and wasnt sure if it was myself or the food. Safe to say it's definitely the food. Brought salt and pepper chips and they gave a box of semi seasoned burnt chips. Tasted horrendous and once again a stomach ache and evening on the loo. Definitely not going to again.

Finally some authentic non greasy and delicious Chinese restaurants! This is my new favourite place to eat . Ordered twice this week and I’m excited to try more food and be a regular. Highly highly recommended!!

We used this Chinese as our usual one was an hour wait on collection so we thought we would try it. We were told 20mins but waited 35 in total as sat inside the takeaway for 15mins so not great. We ordered combination 1 starter, sweet and sour chicken, chicken in orange, egg fried rice and soft noodles. The starter: spring rolls nice, wontons nice, spare ribs grisly and prawn toast greasy. The sweet and sour was fine but wow the orange chicken! Not an orange in sight and the smell was vile. My daughter had a try and said it was awful and I didn’t try to eat mine as it smelt wrong! Really disappointing after spending £25, I learnt my lesson I should of been patient and waited for our usual place instead!!

Great service and excellent food

Ordered a meal for a late delivery and it came 45 mins to early my wife was still working .when it came an hour later it looked like the noodles had been kept warm in an oven it was the worst meal we have ordered. I have used the emperor for more than 10 years but never again .

Good food freshly cooked to order

Do not order from here. We ordered from here and found a big piece of plastic wrapping in my food.when we complained to them the said we could have a free order then said we just get a free gravy. WILL NOT BE ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN DISGUSTING. I give them them 0 stars.

Disgraceful food and service. They got the order wrong then blamed me! Didn't offer to return dish or change even on a different order. I'm not your ordinary serial complainer but had to review this. The guy on the phone was swearing at me as I said the Peking sauce tasted like gravy. Apparently this is the chefs special so I'd probably leave that off any future orders if you really feel you need to order from this restaurant. £23.00 definitely not well spent.

As usual with Chinese takeaways the starters are good but mains are sloppy and disappointing. The ribs were good but avoid anything in a Thai sweet chilli sauce because it's disgustingly sour and miles away from a decent Thai flavour or texture.

We've been using this takeaway for a long time now but have seen a decline in quality of late, the dishes we prefer seemed to have an increasing abundance of onions in lieu of other vegetables but I guess they're cheap. On Saturday we ordered a takeaway for delivery part of which was fillet steak Cantonese. The steak was disgusting, rubbery and chewy and had a sort of glutinous quality to it. We called the takeaway and it was claimed that this was because we'd ordered the food an hour and a half earlier and were now reheating it ahead of tucking in. In other words it was our fault. We drove down to the takeaway to get it changed and this was done, albeit with some reluctance, and without a word of apology. Time to look around for a new takeaway I think.

Food was lovely, arrived in the time they said, delivery driver was very polite and understanding with the young man who had learning disabilities who insisted on paying the delivery driver.. Thank-you! Will definitely be ordering again.

Used Chinese emperor for over 10 years and never had any issues until recently... Last few months has been terrible service, given enough chances, don't know what's happened there but will not use anymore, what a shame....

I placed an order on 30 December for New Years Eve, to make sure I would get the meal delivered on time. It was the Emperor Banquet for 3 plus an extra main course. I got a call on 31 Dec to ensure my order was still wanted for 7:30 pm At 7:50 I called to see where my order was and was told it was on the way. It was delivered around 8:00 pm and no apology for being late. I pad £45.50 which included delivery. When I opened the starters, they were all cold, with spare ribs inedible. I opened the packet of duck and oil was dripping out of it. The pancakes had been put in the bag so were covered in oil. Everything went back in the bags and I drove to Chinese Emperor to complain and get the meal remade. The bags were taken off me and taken to the kitchen. After they had served 3 others that came in after me, I was asked what they wanted me to do. I said I wanted my order to be made again, so they said it would be 10 minutes. Another 2 people came in and were given their orders. I was given my order and got home with it at 9:00 being 1.5 hours late, apologising to my guest. When I opened the starters, I found it was the same as I had taken back, albeit slightly warmer. I would definitely NOT recommend this takeaway to anyone.

Always been to Chinese Emperor and never had an issue until this evening and the service was appauling to say the least! I called an order through and the woman did not read it back to me and just said 15 minutes and put the phone down, thought nothing of it until the order was picked up. Got it home to find they had given us the incorrect main meal for one, called them back and the same woman answered and said they would re-make the meal (which is fine as it was their mistake) to then be told i would have to pick it up again. I explained that the other food would go cold and could they deliver it and was told no and point blank refused to do it. The customer service is shocking as never experienced this at any take-away before, if they make the mistake they correct it and deliver it. A shame as we were big customers of theirs, loyalty means nothing so it’s a goodbye from me 👎🏼

Always had great food from here. Roast duck with green peppers in black bean sauce is my favourite. Reasonablely priced too.

This Chinese has definitely changed hands in the last 6-9 months. I used it all the time. In last 6-9 months orders have been arriving wrong, items missing, ingredients missing in meals, service and standards have slipped. I'm not one to complain but it was happening more frequently, so I complained. I was refused a refund and was told it costs them money to keep sending the driver out again! to correct their mistakes???. I will not use this Chinese again.

The best Chinese takeaway in the area!

Updated Review February 2017: After a few months, I ran into the usual Driver who filled me on the change over process which had some teething problems. I have since ordered and there are some small differences with the meals but I'd say the usual service has resumed. Old Review Below... I virtually never order off the menu, salt and pepper special, ginger with mixed meat and veg, mixed meat chilli ok sauce, special chilli chow mein, are some of the more normal things I've ordered not on the menu. If you want extra spice, extra herbs, something missing out, something changing, whatever you need, because it's all made fresh it's no problem. The same goes for the set meals and banquets, no issue with changing anything or everything on it. If there is a particular dish you want, like around Xmas I asked about thai green/red curry, I noticed a few days ago it's been added. Delivery times are almost bang on accurate, food is served piping hot. Steven and Maggie have just opened another take away in burnage, so lucky burnage people. The Bottom line, this is the Chinese, I measure all others by, traditional Chinese values, with awesome food.

Mixed vegetables Singapore vermicelli, unfortunately had a few pieces of chicken in (presumably meat picked out!). ...shame because always liked this take away :(
