Oriental Express in Brent

Extremely poor quality food, will not use again. Had ‘Chicken Curry and Egg Fried Rice’. The curry was some ingredients that had been heated together in a very, very watery and tasteless ‘sauce’. The onions were raw and the chicken had been sliced in at the end of the prep. The sauce was like a stock cube and had no depth of flavour. The rice was overcooked and had some fried egg through it, but fried rice it was certainly not. I could not, in all conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone, and would say to avoid it at all cost.

Today my friends took me to the restaurant and I was shocked how delicious food they have. The staff are lovely and very helpful. the size of food is quite big for decent price. I wish I could leave more stars. Definitly will come back

We did our last takeaway order from here today after many years we’ve decided we’re not going back. The decline in the quality of food is just unacceptable. There has always been a level of inconsistency which has been irritating but we’ve tolerated bit now it has gone to a whole new level. For example salt and pepper squid, tasteless and no salt and hardly any pepper. Noodles and bean sprouts slimy and with no beans sprouts (Why scrimp on bean sprouts, the Singapore fried rice was tasteless as was the steamed rice with seafood. The rice was stodgy and poorly executed. We order big for dinner and sometimes the food is amazing on this occasion my husband refused to eat much as it was such a disappointment. Cutting corners and an indifference to customer satisfaction has cost them our custom. We won’t be back.

It’s disappointing to have to write this review as the food is good but the service has declined. Under the previous management they were happy to adjust orders and mix items to our taste. We’re very busy and rely on good takeaways but on this occasion we wanted prawn rice with no egg. We were told firmly we could not. Instead we were advised to order mix veg fried rice. We like to monitor our egg intake and egg is in most of the rice and noodle dishes. We aren’t keen to order the mixed veg rice. We did and didn’t like it. It was awkward being told no when we have been ordering here for years and this has never happened. We’re big orderers so it left an unpleasant taste. All in all, we were not happy and we may still order if we really have to but probably not as regularly.

I was nervous about trying this place, under the previous management it was good but very variable and some times average and below average. We regularly order a takeaway from here, so we decided to try again after a long time. First thing the menu online is poor, you can’t see the changes and new prices which leaves you surprised by the new prices. They’ve increased. However the food has improved tremendously. The rice was tasty delicious, the salt and pepper squid was perfection and the smoked chicken was beautifully done. At last, a good Chinese meal with most dishes executed well. The only slight disappointment was the curry rather too thin and watery, more like a gravy than a sauce it needed more body. On the whole the good points outweigh the areas for improvement and the key thing is the good preparation, delicious food and portions. I hope the quality remains consistent. We will be back.

Under new ownership, but the food is even better. However it is now more expensive and less busy. The staff are friendly and the place is as clean as it has always been.

Sweet and sour chicken was completely off disgusting

Food took 1h 10min to deliver and the restaurant is 2 min away. 2 of the dishes ordered do not involve cooking and the one that did was cold and inedible when it arrived. By the time the order was delivered the person the food was ordered for had already eaten so all food was thrown away. Very disappointing.

First of all, I would like to say that their food has always been consistently excellent and I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years. My review is more to do with the fact that they really need to be regularly updating customers about their opening hours during Covid19 lockdowns, particularly updating their website as we have just placed an order via their website, waited for over an hour, only found out they are shut.

Was not crispy beef. It was chewy and not one bit of crisp.

We've ordered from here many times without problems, we definitely prefer to collect but due to recent events have ordered for the first time in months. Unfortunately this last order, the sweet and sour sauce was contaminated by a fly and the viscosity of the sauce was very thin. I'm upset as we do not have many decent Chinese places and this one is our favourite.

I called the restaurant because on the app my order was apparently “on the way”, after didn’t show me nothing and I called them to see what happed. I am leaving 3 mins away from the restaurant. After half an hour the driver arrived and he supposed to know nothing about this delay. I don’t think is normal, I’ve wait more than 1 hour and a half for my order.

I am Disappointed that they don’t give you prawn crackers, when I called they said if you order by telephone you get it!! So because I ordered On just eat I got penalised .... not good customer service... pity because I do like there food but makes me think of buying from Other chineses in the area🙄

This place is very small but really is awesome. Food came in v quickly and was extremely delicious. Large rice / noodle mains are usually 2 to share & all other L dishes 2-3. Super authentic food. We had special fried rice and roast pork with cashews. It was not pricy at all. Would definitely come again .. better than buffet.

If I could give it a zero I would. I have ordered from here previously and never had an issue. Don’t understand what had happened tonight. Food was an hour late and freezing cold when it arrived, there were no extras and when I called the restaurant to find the delivery driver they had no clue what was going on. Also ZERO help from just eat customer service to resolve the cold food. I will be questioning my next takeaway choice

I I ordered Diet Coke 1 litre but was given Coke not diet 330 ml and spoke to the driver and why late and said he came from Hendon to deliver and the diver with a heavy accent and said is it paid and I said I paid it online. Will not order them again with the bad experience.

We ordered the Lamb Green Curry and Beef Bun Bo. The meat tasted really weird, not like meat at all. Will not order again.

When our order arrived, there was a dish missing so we called and the driver was sent back to us. Unfortunately, we then realised some of our starter platter was missing too. We told the driver to let them know and expected a call or something but we heard nothing. As far as food is concerned it was average,Vietnamese starter platter (specifically the summer rolls) was tasteless. Good spring roll and plain noodles. The special kung po prawn was a lot spicier than I'd had before and also was mainly vegetables and one king prawn. Also, for an order of £46, I would'e expected some free prawn crackers or something :)

I ordered a Broccoli, K. Seafood + Egg fried rice for £8.10. I expected the broccoli to come in its own container and the e.f. rice in a separate small container. What I received was a container in which 3/4 was e.f. rice and the 1/4 broccoli seafood. I called the restaurant and the lady explained it was how their "set meal" are packaged... OK however you sell it for £8.10??????? which is a RIP OFF!!! NEVER EVER will I order from here again!!!

Squid was nice,fried noodles very sloppy,prawn balls,ok,rice ok,crispy chilli beef ,nice,overall very average meal,overpriced.

Not Great , Late, Cold Food not great at least 20 minutes late and Cold. Called to see where food was? Told he had car troubles, he arrived with a crash helmet (that is serious Car Trouble) Ate some of the food and within 20 minutes later spent as long in the Toilet! Obviously still searching for a Decent Chinese!!

Food not Great Very late (apparently car trouble) must be a stuntman arrived with a crash helmet, and obviously the food was COLD. Guess I’ll just keep on searching for decent Chinese food for a decent price delivered on time!!

Tasty fresh flavours fresh good quality ingredients. Soup maybe had a little too much soy but it was very tasty I never eat the wonton I get the soup for the broth and it was well seasoned with lots of veggies inside . I would order again oh and very polite friendly delivery driver . Very sweet .

Wow!! Had Vietnamese food for a change and it was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place.

The food at this very understated restaurant is superb , we eat here often my kids love it ,we always have the crispy duck and chilli green beers with beef which is amazing. Service is just fine and compared to the new Bang Bang place 5 minutes up the road I know where I’m going for half the price 😄 A great local Chinese what more can I say 👍🏻

The restaurant is more like a cafe and serves a unusual selection of food. It had a makeover and change of name but is run by the same middle aged couple. We preferred the pre-refurbishment menu and don't think we'll be back.

Worst takeaway I’ve ever ordered. The chicken tasted awful. It was 100% reheated and did not taste fresh. Prawn crackers had a weird smell to it. I threw my food away after 2 bites. Really disappointed as I spent a lot of money. I read reviews and thought this restaurant was good

noodles were burnt. was basically noodles with one sliced mushroom, 4 prawns and sauce. very poor.

Decent food , All tough it was on time , nearly 1 hour delivery time is too long. And food is very expensive, for what it is. Nearly £20 for ONE person!!.

Two of us stopped off here at about 9.30 after a Monday evening's snooker more or less next door. It looks like a café but has a full restaurant menu, specialising in Chinese and Vietnamese but including a few examples of other cuisines e.g. Thai green curry and Malaysian. It is open till 10.30 during the week. The waitress was really helpful and friendly and we enjoyed all of our food very much - ribs, satay, what was apparently quite a spicy Thai green curry and a Vietnamese beef brisket curry. All I would say is that the prices are not cheap and some of the meat was fattier than expected (though tasty). We both agreed that we would happily return - it is definitely worth a try, and has lunchtime deals.

The food was tasteless, dry and made cheaply. I'm very disappointed with my order and would not recommend there food. Part of the food was delivered in a bag without a box and my soup had spilled everywhere.
