Oriental in North Lincolnshire

I think this is the best place to get chicken chow mien from . We have tried the others in town and the unigue taste brings us back every time . Great service and banter . We have been coming for 28 years Well recommend.

Ordered food for collection. Man on phone wasn't very polite. Rice and noodles were stodgy, beef was slimey, minimal veg in the chicken with veg dish, crispy chicken wasn't crispy

Decided to try this takeaway,looked at reviews was going to give a miss but then realized the reviews were over two years ago. Eddy was mentioned a few times personally I couldn't fault him very polite. The food was actually better tasting than others I've had in Scunthorpe. Give it a try you'll be surprised

I tried their Chicken Fried Rice.... WOW. The best rice I have tried from any Chinese Takeaway in Scunthorpe.

Very average. Chips were like a chippy. Chicken balls were cooked in what tasted like fish batter. The egg fried rice tasted boiled. The place looked awful. Don't understand where all these rave reviews came from. The only thing that I gave the extra star for is the price, which was very cheap for a Chinese meal for 2. Infact less then £15, but I wouldn't eat there again.

1st time in the area. The food was spot on, even tweeked to my preference. And contrary to some of the reviews I have seen on here, Eddie (I think that was his name) was funny and helpful.

Why on earth would anyone recommend this place, yes years ago this would be a triple AAA+ but unfortunately there is a very counter service which is so ignorant, in interested , couldn't care less, why are u interrupting my place attitude that requires a 100% leave well alone ,. Yes the food is amazing but when you have an individual at front desk with a massive " attitude " leave 100% alone

Very rude, didn't finish giving my order all I got was 25 minutes and hung up on me. It's happened quite a lot very disgusting manners not polite at all always same person name is (EDDY) can't fault the food just needs educating on manners before he loses his parents buissness or runs it into the ground, so angry never go there again now like I said food is 10/10

Had a fantastic takeaway from here food was very tasty, fresh and speed of service was very good. Had nice chat with guy behind the counter about Asian cuisine was very informative and helpful. THE place to go in Scunthorpe wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Great food young Eddie is a little brusque but that’s because he’s in a hurry to get your food ready and the next customers order. Never had a bad meal. Did a buffet set of meals for my 50th birthday everyone said it was fantastic. I’ve been going here for more than 40 years. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Been using this takeaway for over 25years without doubt the best Chinese takeaway in Scunthorpe, even if the lad in there has made me fat, we all love Eddie he makes the trip worthwhile with his witty one liners and stranger than normal sense of humour.

While the quality of the ingredients seemed quite good (the king prawns was of a good size) the food just wasn't for me. By all means, give it a go, it could be to your taste but it wasn't to mine.

I have never come across someone as rude as the person that took my order. Everything was too much trouble. A simple question about a dish received a long sigh, no please or thank you etc. I used to go here 20 years ago and the guy was the same, only younger. Age has not improved his character. I will never visit this place again, not only due to the Basil Fawlty of the takeway world but also, to add insult to injury THE FOOD WAS VILE.

The "young man"? at the counter is very arrogant and an angry person, and needs a good slap and dressing down. The foods always the best though, what a shame.

One of those little gems that have been hidden, think this place opened in the 1970's and nothing has changed except the young baby behind the counter is a lot older, the food is always great and if ur lucky and one of the guy behind the counters friend you may get a free nibble

I have used this Chinese as the food has been good even though the bloke who takes the order is very very ignorant,no manners at all,not even on the phone,but after the rubbish I took home tonight never again.If anyone wants a Chinese for supper/tea I would recommend you go to Iceland and cook it yourself rather than use this place.The food I payed for tonight I would say was from the previous night and reheated,never again.

Used to go here for takeaways but went the other weekend and I can recommend it. The menu is traditional and not as extensive as some but the food was really good. Will definitely be going back.

Ordered set meal for 2 for 3 of us. Food promptly prepared and all piping hot on arrival. Service as always very good. No where better for quality, quantity and promptness of service in Scunthorpe..

Very good portion size if you are a small medium eater one portion of sweet and sour chicken will fill two people always fresh made to requirements ie dry fried

Went to this Chinese 10 years ago but stopped due to the rude manner of the bloke behind the counter. Returned recently to be spoken to like rubbish on the phone then the meal got slunge on the counter splitting the curry sauce when I collected !!

My family and friends have been going here for years and have yet to find any better. Well cooked, tasty food, great value, efficient service and no faff. The chow mein is fantastic (either with 'gravy' or without). We're also fans of the curry, sweet and sour chicken and chop suey. Chicken dishes are miles better than other places. Don't usually have chips with Chinese food but make an exception from the Oriental as they are excellent.

The only Chinese I would eat from. Been going to oriental for years now, the food has always been up to my standards. Good if you're on a budget but wanting a take a way. Always reasonably fast service. Would recommend this Chinese.

I have been working in the area for a number of years and when I fancy some quality Chinese food I always use The Oriental. Ed who takes your orders is a great character with some excellent banter whilst you wait for your order.

This my favourite takeaway. The flavours are great and the curries are the best ever. Struggle to eat it all as there is so much.

We have been using Oriental for our takeaways for years now.the food is consistently of good quality, portions are good and service is good.We always phone in our order as they can be very busy.

I think I have probably tried every takeaway in Scunthorpe (my waistline does not lie sadly) this is probably the best or in the top two of Chinese food places.Food cooked fresh whilst you wait and if you ask they will spec it as you like it hot or spicier and its you like. Such as long or short noodles.The only downside is they don't deliver. I love the beef curry from here and ado black bean sauce

this is the best Chinese food you will get proper chips not frozen excellent food large portions consistent quality every meal extensive menu great prices will cook you anything you want pancake rolls to die for massive home made .nothing else comes close i just wish they did delivery .i travel 10 miles for this food even though i have a take away around the corner its well worth the drive

Simply this is the best takeaway in town. Great value for money, service is excellent with nothing to much bother and the food is top notch. Regular visited and would not change having tried most local takeaways this is the best all rounder.

This is the only Chinese in scunthorpe to go to food ready within 20mins of ordering large portion sizes great price takes the pawns out of specials for us as we don't like pawns what more could you ask for been going for 15 years now tried other Chinese takeaways but always go back excellent

I have used this chinese since it first opened many many years ago & i can count on 1 hand only the 'bad' meals we have had. All food is freshly cooked & all the 'specials' are in the large cartons. Wide range of meals available & their ribs are to die for. Only dislike is that they do not do a delivery service.
