Oren Pho Bar Grill in Northampton

Horrendous. Ordered £40 worth of food, food that is supplied separate to the broth it has to be cooked in once delivered. Food took 50 minutes to arrive once the driver had left (so well over an hour and an half in total) and was in-edible. Restaurant uses Deliveroo (who were awful and rude) as a scape goat as once it’s left the premises its not their concern - Deliveroo have given only a £9 refund, which in itself takes 10 days to receive. Spring rolls and chow mien also part of the order were terrible and the whole lot went in the bin. Then had to fork out for a meal somewhere else after an evening ruined.

Popped in whilst in the town. Amazing, fresh and authentic. We even ordered some banh mi to take away. Would love to visit again

I have tried several Vietnamese restaurants in the UK This is definitely the best room, there is no other possibility Let’s talk about Vietnamese beef noodles first. The beef is very delicious and has good texture The most important thing is that the soup is full of traditional Vietnamese flavor Rather than the British Vietnamese taste that has been improved (deteriorated) by British tastes If this is your first time here, I definitely recommend this food! The spring rolls in the appetizer were outstanding Whether it's fried or rice rolls, they are both very authentic and delicious. But please note that there are not too many store staff. Remember to book a table if you come in the evening Lunch is not required, but it is only from 12 to 2 p.m. In addition to being a rare restaurant in Northampton, this restaurant It is also the leader of Vietnamese restaurants in the UK.

Everything was perfect, The dishes were excellent, the decoration great, the music pleasant with the right sound level, the waitress adorable and professional. I could have stayed there for hours because I felt so good there. I recommend 1000%

Are these guys ever open when it says they’re open? What’s the trick to getting food from them? Tried for a second time last night to order food and they were seemingly closed (on a listed open day). Ordered through Uber eats and phoned. Nothing. Last time we drove all the way to the town to find a note on the door saying they were closed (again at a listed ‘open’ time). Change your Google opening times! I really want Pho 😂

One of the best places in Northampton. Mains are large and don't skimp on ingredients / toppings. Super tasty as well. The main entrance on the side of the building is now fully accessible.

The food is great and authentic. Oren is always a spot to go when you miss Vietnam so bad!

Avoid at all cost. Was asked for a deposit as it was for a table of 15 which is fair enough. Only 13 attended and was told that they would no honour £10 of the deposit as 2 didn't attend . In my view the deposit is no refundable if no one attends no if the whole party don't attend!

Very authentic Vietnamese food and always presented well and extremely flavourful, my go to restaurant when I fancy a treat

I have been thinking about your food today and wanting to return. Sometimes food just sticks in my mind and your pho broth is incredible. We went for my husbands birthday around July and we really love this place. We had a nice experience showing our parents authentic Vietnamese dishes. Thank you all for working so hard in a difficult business to give us such wonderful food that I can daydream about. :)

After visiting Vietnam earlier this year we were looking forward to taste delicious vietnamese food again. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We ordered 6 different smal dishes to share. They were nicely presented but lack in taste and flavour. Very bland. The only dish that had some flavour was the duck spring rolls and they didn't look "home made". So disappointed!

Authentic food, great menu, food was beautiful and good friendly service and helpful when selecting dishes. Outside does not do inside justice. Lovely interior

I ordered the Vegan Singapore noodles and was again delivered the meat version, this is the second time this has happened in the last month or so, I ordered through UberEats so waited 45mins for it to be wrong meaning i then had to sort something else, nothing more than incompetence, never again...............

This is my daughters favourite place to eat in Northampton and a regular place for us to visit. The food is always bursting with flavour and the right amount of spice. And price is very very reasonable. I have paid significantly more for a meal of lesser quality

When I was introduced to the Etsunan Doji, my friend, who was here today, left. The charges against me were started by people from Nanmen Etsunan, so there was raw beef powder! I love the taste! Food Dou Sokoto Noiku! I like the old Zhao Yi of Hong Kong! Average consumption per person £15-20 My Vietnamese colleague introduced me to this place, so I went with my friend today. She told me that this restaurant was started by people from Vietnam in the south, so they have raw beef pho! It tastes so good! Both the food and the soup base are rich! Visited Bunker Street Food that’s open during the day and operates out of the same premises. The exterior might look tired and the seating untidy. But the food is amazing. I had the banh mi and bubble tea. Freshly prepared and provided as a takeaway. Absolutely delicious. Plenty of parking in the free car park of nearby retail park.

I've been eating Viet food for decades. I have been to this restaurant before and I have to say this wasn't the same restaurant that I had been to before. The service initially was unfriendly with the server making us feel an imposition. That didn't improve during the meal. Our drinks came quick enough but then our server disappeared for awhile without coming back to take our order. Eventually the orders were taken. We had a Vietnamese iced coffee and a jasmine tea. The coffee did not come, as some other reviews show, made at the table and poured over ice, rather it was premixed. The pho was okay but there were no bean sprouts, chillies, herbs or sauces available. We ended up asking for hoisin and sriracha which did improve the soup some. Smallish bowls as well. It seemed that £11 was a lot for this. We also ordered goi coun (summer rolls) which were unimpressive. Two small rolls cut in half, with contents being half a small piece of pork , half a prawn and a mint leaf, a small amount of rice vermicelli and a ton of lettuce. The rolls were cut in half and placed in a saucer of satay sauce . Unappetising and it fell apart quickly. There was some prawn shell in one and some gelatinous inedible ? pork? as well. The menu has all sorts of stuff from all over in it now .. kimchi, laksa, miso rice.. now a hodge podge rather than truly Vietnamese. I guess that the owners need to so something to attract customers but making consistently good food would be a great place to start. I'm giving a three because it's sort of an average faux S E Asian restaurant. If you want good traditional Vietnamese food, perhaps this isn't the place to be.

AVOID! Firstly, the Hygiene is tremendous🤢 The food is definitely not authentic and they are bad. Agree with some other comments, the service is terrible. And they didn’t tell us in advance but charged us £1.5 for a few drips of fish sauce on top of the pho? What? Why? That’s absurd!!

First time visit. Greeted by a friendly member of staff. Very efficient. Answered the questions patiently. Don't know what authentic Vietnamese food is like. Food was good. Would recommend.

Don't let the exterior put you off (it's not great) the restaurant itself is excellent. Decent value food and friendly service. Definitely recommend, and you can see why it was virtually full on a Tuesday evening.

Not an inspiring exterior and the service wasn't the fastest (but so what, what's the hurry!) but it's a really great place to eat. Friendly staff, reasonable value and really lovely food.

We went for a meal at Oren Pho yesterday and the food was so amazing we just had to go back today for another meal. The food was absolutely superb and the staff were lovely. We couldn't fault anythong. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant. i just wished we lived closer to it so we could visit more regularly.

The food is ok but the service is really disjointed and spoils a night out for a couple. My partners food did not come out until a long time after I had finished my mains. I felt guilty eating.

Came with my hubby for an early birthday meal. Haven't had Vietnamese food for a long time, but have previously enjoyed it. It was midweek, so was quiet in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful with menu choices. Starters (summer rolls and kimchi pancakes) were good and no long wait for food. Wine was tasty, too. My husband's main course (super combo meal) was really nice. Initially the wrong dish was brought out for me. I was given the sea food and not the beef of the BunHue I ordered. It was quickly replaced. In hindsight, the dish wasn't the right choice for me, but that isn't the fault of the restaurant and the food quality was good A few people have commented the restaurant is cold, but it seemed OK to me. I'm sad we didn't order dessert. I'd come back, but would est a dry meal instead of a soup meal next time.

Fantastic food great service and great value loved it

Really wanted some pho and Oren was the only Vietnamese restaurant result that came up on Google nearby….I was not disappointed! I ordered takeaway and it took 15 mins so I was able to do some quick shopping whilst I waited. The woman who took my order was happy to help with my dietary requirements and the pho was packaged very well for takeaway so no spillages on the way home! Will definitely be coming here again 👍🏻👍🏻

Great pho & even better veggie dumplings! Yee the waitress is always welcoming and always remembers our favourites (+ chilli oil and soy). We love eating here!

Unfortunately, today, our experience was absolutely dreadful. Service was quite slow and the waitress extremely rude, abrupt and arguably racist. Left a bad taste in our mouths. We were regulars, needless to say we won't be returning.

Decided to visit on a Monday night so wasn’t a problem getting a table. Staff was really great, super kind. They have plenty of options on the menu! Was definitely hard choosing what to go for, we wanted to try the Kimchini but due to a busy weekend they’d run out! We tried the Kimchi Pancakes which were nice and the Salt and Pepper Squid which was great (not too oily which is always good!). For mains, we had the Chicken Laksa and the Seafood Bún Hue (with some alterations due to them running out of some stuff - cabbage instead of beansprout, flat noodles instead of round noodles). Still both were super yummy! They weren’t spicy to our taste so we asked for sriracha oil which didn’t make the biggest difference but was still good! Big portions so we didn’t end up finishing it all but managed to take away. Had coconut mochi for dessert which was good but not the best I’ve had! I did love that they had Hanoi Beer though! Overall, was good!

WENT TO CELEBRATE A BIRTHDAY DINNER. SOMEONE TURNED 18! WE WERE EXCITED WHEN WE GOT THERE. THE SERVER WAS HARSH AND ABRUPT WHEN ONE OF US ORDERED SOMETHING ON THE MENU THAT THEY HAD RUN OUT OF (HOW WOULD WE HAVE KNOWN!) SALTY FOOD AND THE PHO WAS MISSING THE CLASSIC LAYERS OF FLAVOURS EXPECTED FROM THIS VIETNAMESE FOOD. THE CHICKEN WRAPPED IN LETUCE TASTED LIKE KFC... LOOKS GREAT BUT NOT GREAT. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE OVER ALL.

We drove into Northampton to eat here and it was actually my second visit. An abundance of vegan choices all of which tasted incredible! It was refreshing to eat at a place that has a decent selection of beautiful vegan dishes for a change and the pictures I've shared don't even show everything we ordered. The Vietnamese vegan ice coffee and Peach Ice tea cocktail were so delicious.

What a joy! Absolutely delish vietnamese dishes. Had 3 "starters" and coconut mochi to finish. All full of flavours, nicely spiced, good portions. Thinking about going there again sooooon.

First time eating at Oren Pho, we went for Valentine’s on a friend’s recommendation, and it did not disappoint! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Authentic Vietnamese food, cooked fresh and served hot. It is nicely decorated inside, clean and the floor tiles were super cool. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly, and recommended dishes to order. We will most definitely be back again to work through the menu! Just one tiny thing, we found it was a little bit cold in the restaurant, even though the radiator behind me was on full whack, so just make sure you have a couple of layers on 😊 (We ordered prawn crackers, salt and pepper squid, fish sauce chicken wings, miso aubergine, smashed cucumber, rare beef pho and the chicken laksa. We’d recommend all of it!)

Visited this venue after a confirmation of my booking via email was received to celebrate my birthday. Noticed that we weren’t offered any prawn crackers on arrival (other tables were luckier!) & then upon placing my mains order was told that I’d need to vacate the table in 1.5 hours as it was required for a large booking in 2 hours time. I thought I’d be understanding and offered to sit elsewhere but this was declined as apparently they were ‘all booked up’. I ended up having to rush through my meal and the evening was a disaster! Furthermore despite mentioning I was there to celebrate a birthday they couldn’t be bothered to make it special though I’d ordered the most expensive items on the menu (before they dropped the time sensitive bombshell). The food was tasty though the portions a tad on the smaller side! Wish I had taken my custom elsewhere in the first place. Won’t bother revisiting and giving them My custom as it’s apparent they don’t give a damn!

I used to drink in the Harbour Lights and I had a Vietnamese workmate who has sadly passed away, so I was drawn to this place whilst coming from the train station. The food is DELICIOUS, but I was going to mark it down as the waitress was very cold and slightly rude in the beginning. She eventually warmed up and became more polite. Very good food won the day!

my boyfriend booked for us to go here for my birthday as we had just moved in down the road, and we were blown away!! the lovely woman who served us was so polite, best service ever, and the food was amazing, so fresh and tasteful, the chefs should be so proud of themselves. thanks so much for the mochi and candles, we will be back soon! xx

Great food with a good gluten free choice. Best to book as busy on a Saturday night. Access ok for sticks but would be difficult for a wheelchair due to door size. Park in St Peters NCP car park - download app before you arrive!

The food here is delicious. We went for a mix of small plates over two rounds to share as a way of trying lots of things. All were tasty and came from the kitchen promptly when ready. Good selection of non alcoholic drinks. Everything coming out to other tables looked great so we will definitely be back. The only negative was the slow service. While food came out fast once ordered, ordering itself was a bit of a chore trying to get attention. Each time we needed service it took quite a while to flag anyone down. The staff are lovely though and the food is good so I’ll assume this was a one off and isn’t a deal breaker.

We had dinner here last night purely by chance, walked by looked quite busy. So pleased we did, it was so good and tasty. Our waitress was so helpful and friendly. We had delicious crispy prawns with little bits of chilli and garlic.Also crispy potatoes with prawn. Main course red thai chicken curry, chicken was very soft (often in restaurants tough and reheated! ) not here. Served with fluffy jasmine rice.Delicious crunchy fresh vegetables in a delicate sauce. Very impressed, we live in London so won’t be able to return too soon sadly. Highly recommend, do try it, you really will enjoy it!!

Best consistent authentic and flavoursome restaurant in Northampton

Walked out as the person in charge was very rude to my son who was asking a simple question related to the menu. Such a shame a we all love Asian food. Went to Royal Thai restaurant after and had exceptional friendly service and delicious food.

Probably one of my favourite spots to eat in Northampton. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. in most places a lot of the flavour is toned down but it's very authentic and absolutely delicious. great for large groups or takeout with easy parking in st James.

The food is absolutely great and the service is impeccable, I always love to ask for the waiter's favorite. There's not much of an atmosphere, it's rather quiet, but it's nice to have a nice meal. I definitely recommend it.

Having read and heard lots of good things about Oren Pho my partner and I went last night.The place was freezing,heating allegedly not working,so that I sat through the meal with my coat on and partner's coat on my lap. Service was ok, friendly but...

What a difference to the standard Northampton food choices. Authentic cuisine, made fresh, super tasty and great value. Will definitely be going back again, and soon.....! Try something different, you won't be disappointed!

The food at Oren Pho is really nice. We had starters mains and dessert. The quantities were generous, the tastes were lovely. This is definitely a place to go if you want lovely food and decent portions. The service can be a little matter of fact and not warm, but the food does make up for that. I will definitely be back there in the future.

Had dinner here twice last week. Very nice place, great friendley staff with awesome food. What a gem this place is.

Service great and atmosphere enjoyable. They do not overcrowd their tables and the dining area is well ventilated and not stuffy. The summer roll and peanut sauce are a must whenever I visit. Pho has great flavour thanks to the stock they make daily along with all the complementary veggies to go with the noodles and meat. Prices are fair and one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Northamptonshire.

Expected better to be honest. Venue felt a little run down, food was okay but have experienced better Vietnamese food in terms of flavours and taste elsewhere. Attentive and generally happy staff. Okay value for money when compared to other restaurants in the area, but no compelling reason to rush back

This place is a hit and miss. The first time we tried it, the food was delicious. The second time we ordered almost the same items with a few extra, and it was disappointing. The portions are small, so you'll need to order accordingly.

Fantastic Vietnamese shop that we always go to when we are by the city. Tasty, flavorful, closed to the train station and reasonable priced. We’ve tried different phos and appetizers and we still think they are great value for money.

First visit to Oren Pho and it didn't disappointed. The food was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere and table spacing was good, it didn't feel over crowded.

Amazing food!!! Just not enough of it lol Traditional, fresh made dishes. We had 3 starters and 2 mains between us and a drink each. Came to around £65 plus tip which considering the amount of food it was (approx. £6.60 for 3 tiny skewers of pork..) was a little underwhelming, but it was all flavoured handsomely. Quality over quantity. Just expected a little more quantity from starters for the price...

Great place to eat. Went for the first time a few weeks back and was back within 10 days to work my way through the things I didn't try first time and expect I'll be back again soon.

Rang the restaurant to ask about having something else put in my order as uber eats doesn’t allow you to add notes to the order and the lady that owns it was rushing me off the phone and put the phone down wen I was still talking.

Terrible service!!! The lady server was super rude and even racist and did not want to explain us the food on their menu and refused to service. She apparently thought the fault was on the manager who wrote the menu not clear enough but was not there according to her, instead of her not explaining the food.

Food was good, I think it might have needed more spice in the broth but that's probably how it's traditionally served. Green tea was very strong. Hot chocolate was nice according to my friend. Service was top notch, the waitress was really nice. Dessert was phenomenal, the mango pannacotta was a really good palette cleanser before we left. I recommend the restaurant, it's a really nice place, great atmosphere. Would go again especially to try the grilled food
