Love this pub. Great atmosphere both inside and out. Great range of beers on draft, good range of wine selection, and hard spirits available. Pub is set in a beautiful village and has a friendly, cosy village style setting inside. Food selection is both varied and tasty, and good value.

Great local. large beer garden and a bar and separate dinning room. really good friendly service and decent pub meals. 👌

I went this Sunday with my sister for lunch lots of room inside good size open and covered/shaded outside space over two levels I had a steak which was excellent rested medium rare with some of the fat cap still on for better flavour I do not recermend the Sunday lunch as unfortunately my sister did the rost beef Sunday lunch good portions but oh dear the beef was cut into 10 mm slabs stiff and dry that looked like it had been left under the heat lamps too long or had been microwaved to warm up? I personally would have sent it back and had something different But my sister Miss Don't make a fuss as you can throw any old noise bag on and she will quite happily chow down (dogs liked the doggie bag beef) Had to go elsewhere for real coffee as not sold here and as for dessert not much on offer.

As you'd expect for a Sunday, it was busy in the kitchen. They'd sold out of some of the sides, which indicates how busy they'd been. But it was 2:00pm, so it wasn't late late for a roast. The meal was average. It was bit wet with water from the veg and not a lot of gravy. There was no option for additional gravy given either. The service was again, average. However, the atmosphere was nice. Lots of dogs around and not too many children present.

We had a wonderful time here, they couldn’t do enough for us, ok it’s not a Michelin star restaurant it’s a pub, that said I loved the food. A special mention must go to Helen the manager, courteous, engaging and incredibly professional. She headed up the team with a subtle skill, see you very soon!!

Came here for a spur-of-the-moment date night with my other half; usually you have to reserve a table but they accommodated us, and put us in a nice and (relatively) quiet corner, which we love. I had a dirty burger, she had the truffle parpadelle, which were both lovely - as per tradition, we shared half and half. The parpadelle was a tad bit too oily for my liking, but tasted amazing and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The burger was lovely, nothing to fault there!

Really nice pub, haven't done anything with external area since it was refurbished years ago. Could do with cleaning/reguve. Cobwebs, rotten wood on table and chairs, cushions with cuts in them.

I’ve never left review but this time I think I should. Was served a roast dinner that all the meet was uncooked, they did replace chicken but lamb was still uneatable has uncooked. They did offer a free afters but I only had one and this did not replace the fact that I didn’t eat my meal and if I did would have been seriously ill

It Was a great pub to come to but since the new manager has started I don't think I will be coming back. Very rude to customers and staff

The food is poor quality as I order Gammon with egg, chips and pea but chips was overcooked bit too hard too very dry and no peas was missing on the plate. I have ordered a steak for medium-rare but it looks like well done. There was no juice from the steak. I’m not pleased. The services were friendly great but not the foods. Other meal fish & chip was overcooked. Please see a video of meals. I noticed that the chef is useless and don’t care about food. The chef should replace! I paid £150 for 4 meals. Need to improve of that.

Lovely pub with friendly staff and a great Sunday roast. Dog friendly with plenty of water bowls.

We ate at lunchtime today and there was a long delay with the food as a temporary chef was covering the kitchen and was trying hard to find everything! The food was great when it arrived so was well worth the wait :)

Extremely great food, literally next level quality It’s not typical pub food cooking, it’s like restaurant quality. Pricy, yes but your getting what u pay for in this place Photos is chicken roast and dirty burger I’ve had steak and fish and chips and I must say the steak is miller and carter quality and fish and chips is well above standard

Popped in for lunch to celebrate my granddaughter’s GCSE results, good was lovely and great service too. Will be back!

Had a fantastic time, it’s a lovely pub and the food was amazing, prawn cocktail, calamari, sea bass and the chicken were all absolutely outstanding. The staff are very helpful couldn’t be better. Definitely going back again.

Lovely little pub just outside Romford! Traditional inexpensive lunch food to suit all tastes, soft drink as driving and great staff, made to feel very welcome.

Had an opportunity to visit as it had been recommended several times. Great that it's dog friendly. Good selection of drink and food but Steak Baguettes were awful. Barely cooked bits of meat that were chewy, gristly offcuts. Disappointed to say the least. Would go back but will try something different next time.

Hands down one of the best pub foods I've ever had I ordered the liver and bacon but regret as gf ordered The fish fillet which came on top of mash and a green sauce, and it was perfection Will come here again

Popped in for lunch with the family. Lovely food and great service as always, and best of all dog friendly too and was able to have our furry family member inside with us.

Eaten at the Orange Tree pub on a couple of occasions. The staff are friendly, the service is good and the food is reasonable and good. It was pretty busy when we went which added to the atmosphere, and they accommodated 3 toddlers no problem. I would certainly recommend coming here.

Food has always been decent in here. Although for the service isn't great when the pressure is on. As for the soul festival, forget ever going. Terribly run. Over crowded, and the pub was closed early. Because of this. And to charge £17 for a burger on that day was ridiculous. I dont think anyone would say any different.

Stumbled upon the place after a stroll in the woods. Very very nice. Will be going back. The food coming out looked amazing.

Nice place to visit. Not any seats in the bar area were available when I visited and didn't have any food this time round. Will definitely revisit. But you probably have to book, I don't think this is a drop in kind of pub, especially if you bring your dog.

If I could give this pub 0 stars I would have, it's only because I had to rate it to proceed with the review that I am giving it one star! I have no doubt it is a lovely pub had me and my partner been permitted to step over the threshold, unfortunately we was told over the phone that this "dog friendly " pub will not allow us to enter with our Xl bully as they have to think about their other customers. Whilst I appreciate that they have to take their other customers into consideration I also think this is highly discriminating as we have an exemption certificate and our sweet gentle giant is muzzled as required by law. I would not recommend this pub as being dog friendly and I think it's completely unacceptable that this ignorant attitude exists amongst supposed dog lovers. Its this kind of ignorance that gives this beautiful breed a bad name and responsible owners that follow the rules

First time visit. Had Liver & Bacon, cooked perfectly. Lots of Liver ony two rashers of Bacon.

Steak and ale pie was lovely, quick service and friendly staff :) the pub had a lovely atmosphere.

Probably the best pub meal I've ever had at a very reasonable price. The service was very friendly and attentive.

I honestly think this was the best pub lunch I've ever had. The nachos sharer was fantastic freshly made corn chips. Liver and bacon that was even better than my mum's (sorry mum). Bread and butter pudding. Fabulous. Everyone agrees that we need to go back again.

Found this place on a country walk. Lovely cozy atmosphere. We only stopped for a latte so I can't comment on the food.

The restaurant was very warm and welcoming on a cold, crisp day. We had a very relaxing family lunch and we were all very happy with our meals.

Rude staff. Noone is serving behind the bar. You wait for 20 mins to be told there is no food service outside, even though before ordering I checked if they serve food and was told they do. Worst service ever.

Pretty good pub, though I was hoping for a more interesting menu, rather than typical pub food. It was cranking when we arrived

Sadly not a good experience, waited 90 minutes for our food. No one asked if we wanted drinks while waiting. Several food requests were unavailable and we had pre ordered. One meal was delayed 20 minutes after everyone else had theirs. Under cooked burger and cheesecake missing its sauce. All in all a disaster.

I live in Romford and I have tried many many different gastro pubs all over the country and restaurants for Sunday Roast dinner and the orange Tree is without a doubt my favourite Beef Roast destination every Sunday. Excellent crispy garlic golden roast potatoes Tasty, beef cooked to how you like it Braised warm red cabbage Beef dripping gravy Honey glazed carrots Crunchy Parsnip Peas, shredded cabbage And lastly, big Yorkshire puddings All I can say is, thank you to the chef and the staff at the Orange tree and as long as the quality of the food doesn’t alter, I will keep coming back each week :)

Had a roast beef, disgusting the beef couldn’t even cut through. server asked if he wanted horseradish (she missed heard us we said yes she thought we said no )and then we overheard her moaning to staff that she had to come back again.

Celebration for a dear friends 90th birthday. A perfect day out. Lovely, welcoming place. Flower displays were lovely. Food n drink good!

Me and my family occasionally/ normally go to the orange tree pub because we love the food options and most of all the atmosphere it is a beautifully designed pub , parking space is good and the people / services is like you are the main priority

I was disappointed with this visit on Father's Day. The food of one of our party of 5 was great. The rest was really below par, which was a surprise to us as we've often had nice food here. The staff were nice but the service wasn't as good as it could be. Maybe because they were very busy, but it resulted in them forgetting to bring things over to us, and an item ordered didn't arrive. The atmosphere was affected by overly loud music, so we couldn't hear each other or make ourselves heard by staff who were very busy. It did quieten down eventually. Sad to give a disappointing review.

If i could leave half a star i would. We took my father in law to lunch for his birthday, there were 6 adults and a one year old. Our waiter got most of the order wrong, including giving a full priced sunday roast to the one year old and seemed surprised that we said he'd never be able to eat all that. We ordered 3 lamb roasts, all came up raw, one of our guests didn't want a new meal so had nothing. When the 2 new lamb dinners returned, there was some cooked lamb and some raw but it was all mostly fat. Everything was completely overseasoned. We were charged for 7 adult meals even though we ordered 6 but one was returned without a replacement. It was absolutely awful and I'm very disappointed that we were asked to pay full price for everything considering the dreadful experience we had. A ruined birthday lunch. I would steer clear of this place and perhaps go to either The Rabbits or Top Oak, both far superior.

The food was so good and delicious 🤤 the environment was perfect, with accents of British interior design decor. The staff was amazing, very attentive and friendly at all times. The portion are average size I believe, and you can eat one portion until satisfied perfectly. If you order some starters, maybe the main dish will be too much if you aren't sharing with anyone. Overall experience was great, and I would for sure come back next time I visit London! Thanks for the hospitality!

A solid 3 out of 5 A decent meal at a standard price. It's not anything special, impressive or noteworthy but it's all right. If you come here you'll have a nice enough time.

Lovely friendly staff. Food was a but disappointing 8.5 for a tuna sandwich, wasn't worth the money

Appalling and very lazy service. Food mediocre at best. It took over 52 minutes for a simple roast lamb to arrive with no apologies. And that’s the main issue. Avoid at all cost.

Had a meal here for my birthday with the family yesterday, 8 of us. Food was excellent, only gripe was the wait for the food. Over an hour wait for mains, which would be acceptable if it was adults but as we had kids with us, tainted the experience a bit.

God this place has really gone down hill, waiting staff as nice as she normally is and that's the only thing good to say about tonights experience. You have your starter and then wait over an hour for your main course, being told " sorry the chef is on his own" and when it does come the standard is really poor The fish tasted like it had come from Icland and then covered in extra thick batter. Don't bother wasting your money.

Sunday roast? Booked in advance? What could go wrong? The kitchen had a 'mare. First warm sunny Sunday of the year, and the pub was packed inside and out. Starters took 50 minutes to arrive. Main courses another 50, then returned as the potatoes weren't cooked. The food itself was decent - the starters were very good. After almost 3 hours we passed on pudding. Shame that prior bookings didn't take precedence over walk-ins when the kitchen was clearly stressed. I'm looking forward to returning for dinner another time.

I dined here with a large party midweek, a range of ages including young children. The service was friendly and the staff did all they could meet our needs. The food was good and fairly priced. I would recommend and return to the Orange Tree.

Left a little disappointed after having some nice meals there in the past. Staff took their time to attend our table to take our order despite it not being that busy. Roasts were tasty but the roast potatoes were undercooked...hard inside and not crispy - the exact opposite you want in a roastie IMO.

Had a lovely meal there ( Cod & Chips ). Beautifully cooked, succulent cod, and lovely crispy chips. Lovely pint to wash if down with. Great service, didn't have to wait too long for our food. Definitely recommend and go back again 👍

EDIT: Pub responded to this review asking me to email them about my experience so they could put it right. I did and they never responded. Even more of a reason to not return. Another star dropped for lack of customer service. Food is lovely. Roast is great, however I paid £80 to reserve a table for 8 a week before booking and was not told you could pre order meals. When we attended, pretty much all roasts and sides were sold out, so not much to choose from. None of what we ordered was our first choice. This is a miss and poor service from the restaurant and staff (lack of training?), especially when we've paid so much of a deposit for 4 adults, 3 children and a baby. Had to really get staff attention to take drink orders and then food orders. Requested a table with high chair, not present when we attended. This was our first visit but unfortunately didn't blow us away. Dining at a restaurant is about the full package, not just the meal. Finally we paid with one waitress and another came over after asking if we'd paid, almost insinuating that we hadn't. How dare you. Check with your colleagues to see if we've paid, don't harass customers. Disappointing experience. My own fault. I'd meant to book The Rabbits and got mixed up. Had hoped this would be a refreshing experience but it was not.
