Opa Opa in Rother

Visited this beautiful Greek restaurant last night we had amazing food with great service would definitely recommend.

Visited here with my wife on a recent holiday in bexhill. We came in of the street having stumbled across the restaurant earlier in the day. We hadn't booked but they fitted us in as it was early evening, we found the staff very friendly and were attentive without feeling overly pressurising. We opted for the sharing platter and were plesently surprised to find it more than enough for two people. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the whole experience was very enjoyable. I would recommend booking in advance as the restaurant started to fill as we finished our meal.

What can I say? The staff were attentive and polite, particularly as my partner is disabled. The service wasn’t rushed and plenty of time allowed between courses, of which we had three. The food was absolutely delicious with decent sized portions. This was our first time but we are definitely returning.

Amazing service, friendly staff, food is exceptional and great value for money. We had a mix of food from the menu and the whole family loved it. We had a party of 6 over 3 generations and the staff looked after each and everyone of us. A added bonus was their bar, had a fantastic cocktail list which was expertly mixed for us. A positive experience from booking through to enjoying dinner, it’s a pleasure to have dined here - had Borough a group of friends too !! Food was delicious, the Service excellent, and reasonably priced too. The only (minor) dilemma was the length of time taken for dinner to be served - ‘though well worth the wait…

Nettes Lokal, Service nett, könnte aber ein bisschen flotter sein. Essen war sehr lecker, Portionen gut und Preise fair.

Had a lovely evening here staff were lovely especially Artur . Food was lovely and tasty . Didn’t wait long for both starter and main and also drinks Great Choice on Menu Staff check with as to make sure we were happy with everything. Restaurant looked clean and pretty with Decorations . Looking forward to going back soon .

I had my 80th birthday lunch last Sunday. The food wine and service were excellent. Thank you soooo much for making my day special Joy

Perfect. Beautiful food, fresh pita bread and beautiful meat. Staff are friendly and attentive. So clean throughout the restaurant. Definitely recommend it, owner even gave us some drinks on the house. Really made a change, something different on Mother’s Day!

No Retsina (but insipid house wines). Olive on hummus had never seen kalamata. Dips were over spiced and under herbed. Tasteless pastitsio with a naked side salad. Even kataifi lacked sugary stickiness. And when I asked (in the absence of Greek coffee) for “strongest black coffee”, I got americano! Metaxa and Ouzo ok but priced higher than Courvoisier and tequila. Other diners seemed pretty happy, but this was the least authentic Greek meal I have had since the fall of the Junta 50 years ago.

Have been here twice now (in the space of a month!!). Was a little worried being vegetarian but have a whole vegetarian menu which looked so delicious the whole table ordered from it!! Spanakopita is very tasty and also the halloumi souvlaki. Cocktails are up there with a trendy bar standard too. Reasonably priced considering portion sizes and both times the service has been faultless! Would recommend.

Christmas Eve dinner, lovely food, especially Gigantes beans with sausage. Polite and attentive service. Will definitely go again.

I’m not sure how the owners can call Opa Opa ‘authentic Greek cuisine’. We went for the first and last time. The food was nice but the menu options were limited- very limited, which told us that this was lacking in authenticity. The fact that they offer a choice of chips or mash potato should have set alarm bells ringing. Greek food is about flavour and potatoes (village style) and rice is one of the key accompaniments. We were also served gravy with the lamb. If we wanted a Sunday roast we’d have gone to a pub. For authenticity I give a one star. I’m associated with Greek folk and am embarrassed to say I went there.

Have been to this restaurant a few times earlier in the year, but this visit the coffee was different, it used to be the best I had tasted but not any more, just average Ordered meatballs which were much smaller & not as good. It is now topped with feta and the price is £9.50!! for a starter. Not sure it is the same people running it, but don't think I will be returning. Such a shame as it was brilliant before

Food was authentic and tasty and service was excellent both times we have been here. Cocktails were also very good too. Desserts were fantastic particularly the baklava . Thanks for a great meal.

Had a nice lunch here before leaving for the airport. The service was good, food tasty with large portions and the prices reasonable. Starters of Filo pastry with cheese and spinach and chicken, mains of Pork steak and Lamb Shank. All with a bottle of red. We didn’t have room for desert! Total bill only £70

Early evening supper (5pm) with 3 generations. Spacious seating - useful with the toddlers. Warm, genuine welcome+ haven't been before. Service was friendly and efficient. Good range of food, served quickly. Looked and tasted good. Happy to recommend.

I went out for the first solo diner in years. I was looking forward to it too. But! This time I have a dog and he comes everywhere with me! Wasn't sure what food to go for yet. Quite fancied Greek, when I saw this place. Very different and fresh and clean! We were able to sit outside and the owner laid the table and put a soft rug on the seat. The menu looked promising. Something for everyone, and that for Greek! I had THE BEST cocktail, which came with an ouzo on the house (very welcoming) and a glass of water with a slice of lemon and water for dog-o too. This eye for detail went on throughout my visit. I had a great diner, the Opa Opa special, which was meat with a little salad with dressing and pita bread and homemade tzatziki, which was so delicious! I had to leave a review, because this family-run business is worth a monthly visit. Next time with the better half!

Our first time coming into Opa Opa and it definitely will not be our last. The food was delicious, I took some items off my meal and they didn’t complain at all. The staff were very attentive and polite. We couldn’t of asked for a nicer family birthday meal out. We will definitely be back again even date night just myself and husband.

Came here for my fiancés birthday with family and friends, the food was out of this world and great portions, the staff are incredible really friendly and patient being that there was 15 of us. The cocktails are the best I have ever tasted especially the strawberry daiquiri. Thankyou opa opa a credit to bexhill.

The environment is calm,clean and friendly The maitre de Artur is professional personified The waitress had a lovely smile Then there is the food:butterfly chicken followed by baklava (noone believed I could have eaten 2,served with ice cream My best eateries was The Ivy Asia inBrighton.little old Bexhill may change it The family atmosphere is great Well done Alex(senior and junior)

Food is AMAZING! Staff couldn't be friendlier and the location is beautiful, clean, not much greek inspiration but lovely regardless!

Food was delicious and of good size. Nice amount of choice on the menu. Cocktails were some of the best we've had, highly recommend the strawberry daiquiri. Resturant has been beautiful decorated. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
