Prime location for fringe punters. Currywurst was on point, if a bit expensive - £10 for 2 bratwurst, sauce and a small quantity of bread. There isn't much atmosphere as it's an outdoor venue. There is no external seating. Order your foods, pay your monies and leave.

Not vegan friendly place. Despite they advertised “vegan” option. They cook vegan sausage on the same hot plate as the meat options. This is not vegan. The guy makes you aware of that tough which is nice but still this doesn’t solve the problem which could have been solved very easily by cooking with a foil or simple having a separate hot plate for the “vegan” option.

Authentic German products at great value. Lived in Germany for years and it’s great to have a local provider for things like Schnitzel and Frikadelle. Also the best quality Leberwurst. Rapid delivery at low cost also helps!!

The most delicious German sausages ever! Since they have the online shop it has been the highlight of the weird times we are in right now! I always wanted to take pictures of the food that we added the most delicious sausages to (fried with egg, pasta with cheese sauce and crispy fried onions, for example). Unfortunately I never managed because of our impatient son who says" it's really yummy for my tummy mummy". Excellent customer service!

I cannot recommend On The Roll more! I knew their sausages with homemade sauce from their stall on George Square which I have for lunch anytime when being nearby. Being German myself, I can honestly say that they have the most delicious Bratwurst I've ever had. I usually go for the Currywurst, as it has two sausages in it. Since it is possible to buy On The Roll products online we order it regularly. Try the Smoked Frankfurter cold or slice it up and fry it! Yummy! The Goulash Soup is very special, with delicious spices. The Leberwurst is particularly nice with pickled gherkins. The service is extremely friendly and efficient!

On the roll is the best thing that you can find on George Square and now online too! They offer affordable (especially for students) and quality food, which is just so tasty you find yourself coming back for more. My personal favourite is the currywurst: two sausages with amazing toppings and the best curry sauce ever. Everything can be vegan too! I totally recommend paying a visit !

Sehr lecker und super Service!! :) Sehr nette Leute am Stand. Tolles Preis Leistungsverhältnis und große Portionen. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen. Auch der Onlineshop ist super, leichte Handhabung, einfache Bezahlung und eine schöne Auswahl an leckeren Deutschen Produkten. Schnelle Lieferung (sogar nach Deutschland ist die Lieferung sehr schnell und die Produkte noch super gekühlt). Kurz gesagt Beste Bratwurst die es gibt und liebevoll, super leckere, selbstgemachte Currysoße die ich nirgendwo besser gegessen habe. :)

I can't recommend them highly enough!!! All of their sausages and toppings are delicious. My favourite is the Cheese Krakauer which is a wonderful sausage filled with Gouda. I love their range so much I'm about to order some more. <3 I've been going to their stall since 2013/2014 when it was on North Bridge. Every single time their quality is outstanding, every option is yummy and the people running the stall are all so lovely.

Ich präsentiere euch eine weitere Ausgabe von Cwl3000 Worldwide, heute aus: Edinburgh! Im Universitätsviertel gibt es einen kleinen Imbiss namens On The Roll. Hier wird man sehr freundlich begrüßt und nach kurzer Zeit wird der Smalltalk auf deutsch geführt. Die Auswahl ist optimal auf meinen Geschmack zugeschnitten, es gibt Bratwürste und Currywürste, als Beilage Sauerkraut. Bestellt habe ich eine Currywurst XL für 5 Pfund, bekommen habe ich dafür 2 (in Worten: zwei!!) Würste, eine Weiße und eine Rote. Super knusprig angebraten und mit warmer Soße welche ebenfalls in einem Topf auf dem Grill vor sich hin köchelt. Eine spitzen Szenerie die mein Herz schneller schlagen lässt. Das Gewicht der Schale in der Hand war auf dem Weg zu meiner Sitzgelegenheiten war schonmal beachtlich, und ich nehme es gerne vornweg: die Portion war enorm! Als Beilage hatte ich eine knusprige Aufbacksemmel, wäre in Deutschland nichts besonderes, hier im Weichbrotland aber super gut. Geschmacklich waren beide Würste absolut überdurchschnittlich gut. Die Weiße noch besser wie die Rote. Und die Soße ein Gedicht. Es zeigt sich abermals, die Currywurst Bräter im Ausland geben sich einfach in der Regel mehr Mühe als viele der deutschen Imbiss-Köche. Ich gebe On The Roll 9 Pommesgabeln, einfach eine geile Currywurst aus einem kleinen Imbiss auf der Straße. Für die 10 fehlen nur noch Pommes.. Mi esposa y yo entramos a la universidad, después de una mañana preciosa porque ella había leído acerca de este camión de comida; ella era justo.La comida era muy buena, con un precio razonable, y contundente. Yo no he estado en Alemania, pero mi familia está siempre preparado y comida alemana, este fue un fantástico lujo mientras en Escocia.Recomiendo encarecidamente parada cualquiera y disfrutar de la comida y el servicio.

Visitamos "en el rollo en el jardín" en el grupo nr Largs aunque son normalmente ubicado en la Plaza de George en Edimburgo. En un rodillo con salchichas Bratwurst todos los adornos y una selección de salsas. XL para £4 - lo que no gusta. Cerca de la Plaza de George prados y jardines y en una ubicación ideal para estudiantes y turistas por igual.

I have been to this nice little Bratwurst stall many times since I first found it on South Bridge. The grill bike is unique and the sausages are definitely worth the price, excellent taste and I would recommend trying the amazing homemade sauce. Especially the Currywurst can keep up... even if you've been to Berlin you will love it. Highly recommend this place - also to Non-Germans!

I've visited On The Roll a few times and it instantly transported me back to my time in Germany. They use proper German sausages grilled to order, the bread is perfectly crunchy and the currywurst sauce is amazing. The owner is really friendly too and it's great to stand and have a chat while you wait for your food to cook. I got a loyalty card on my last visit so I'll definitely be back soon!
